This was a great way to get the layout and history of Amsterdam. Sean navigated us through the rain and we still loved what he showed us. Stopping for a hot chocolate was a nice way to warm up in a spot we never would have discovered on our own. Highly recommend for new visitors to Amsterdam.

There is more then one red light in Amsterdam. We will pass through a less known district but not interfere in the business going on. We give you some of the basic information in respect to the workers no stoping here.
This neighborhood is in the middle of our tours in the East part of downtown. Here you will see and hear about the citys expanding history.

Our tour guide was pleasant and informative. He had a very good knowledge of the areas we visited and made us appreciate the fine points of life in Amsterdam.
It was a very laid back stroll through some of Amsterdam’s highlights. Sean was personable and knowledgeable. We wish he had taken us several more places and provided additional history.
I had an incredible time on the Amsterdam Highlights Walking Tour: Small Group Experience with WOW Tours. Our guide, Sean, was beyond knowledgeable and brought the city’s rich history, culture, and architecture to life. Exploring iconic spots like Dam Square, the Royal Palace, and the Red Light District with someone who could provide such deep insight and context made all the difference. The small group size of three made it feel personal and engaging. I recommend this tour to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
It was a good walking experience to introduce us to the city of Amsterdam and The Netherlands culture. Sean was knowledgeable
Loved Shawn!! Lots of great history about Amsterdam and loved it was a small group! Would definitely recommend to first time visitors.
Our guide Jamal is very friendly and knowledgeable. He went into extensive details in history of places that we visited. We had a good time.
Excellent introduction to Amsterdam, great and friendly and flexible guide. Very casual but very informative.
Really excellent guide, flexible approach and personality. Very knowledgeable.
The tour guide didn’t show us much in Amsterdam. Quality was lacking. This was our first day in Amsterdam, and I was so disappointed in his performance. We are booked with other tours using Viator. I really hope they will be better than today. 😡
Great tour - wonderfully engaging. Our tour guide, Sean, was informative and very chill. Perfect way to get highlights of Amsterdam
A great way to see old Amsterdam. It was just my wife and I don’t was a great experience. We walked around the old city and around the canals learning the history of the city. If you want an introduction to Amsterdam this is a good way.
Sean knows his history when it comes to Amsterdam. Great for English speaking tourists as American English is Sean's first language.
Sean was a really good guide gave good and interesting overview of Amsterdam. Would recommend to first time visitors
Our guide, Sean, was personable, candid and very knowledgeable. We walked the city center, making stops at historical as well as general human points of interest. This was a very good introductory tour and helped familiarize us with the city center. We highly recommend this 2 1/2 hour tour!
Shawn was entertaining and knowledgeable. He told us so much about Amsterdam- history, current life & everything in between. The time went too fast.
Fantastic tour! Sean knew so much about the city & was a great guide. Highly recommend booking this tour on your first day in Amsterdam to get a better understanding of the city!
Even though I've been to Amsterdam before, I still learned so much from this walking tour. The guide was a very informative American who has lived in the Netherlands for decades. The entire group was actually American coincidentally. The group was 7 guests + 1 guide. I don't think a tour should be any larger since the streets can be crowded making it hard to stay together. I'd highly recommend a walking tour of most cities if you are new to a location, and this one was among the very best!
Sean gave us a brief but very insightful introduction about Amsterdam’s urban development. And guided us through many historical buildings, restaurants, and landmarks. This left us a very memorable impression about Amsterdam.
Our tour guide was very funny and knowledgeable, it was a laid back stroll through the city highlighting alot of interesting things, would definitely recommend
Shawn was an absolute awesome guide. He was knowledgeable, personable and very kind. We enjoyed every attraction and opportunity to walk and see where the locals eat and enjoy their time.
Great introduction to Amsterdam. Sean was great… quite knowledgeable about the history of Netherlands.
We recently took a walking tour of Amsterdam, and while the city itself is always a stunner, the experience wasn’t exactly what we had anticipated based on the tour description. The Highlights The pace of the walk was easygoing, and it was nice to be out on the canals. If you’re looking for a very informal wander without a lot of dense information to process, this style might suit you. Points for Consideration • Historical Context: We were hoping to dive deep into the origins of Amsterdam and how the city was formed. However, the commentary was quite light on history and focused more on the guide's personal observations. • Cultural Commentary: The guide shared a lot of his personal frustrations regarding European culture and corporate habits (like the "meetings about meetings" trope). While everyone is entitled to their opinion, it felt a bit out of place for a sightseeing tour and skewed a bit negative. • The Canine Co-Guide: The guide brought his dog along for the walk. While the pup was sweet, he did frequently bump into members of the group. More importantly, having a pet meant we couldn't enter most buildings or historical sites, which limited the "insider" feel of the tour significantly. Summary Overall, it felt more like a casual walk with a local acquaintance than an educational tour. If you are looking for a deep dive into Dutch history or want to see the interiors of or learn about Amsterdam's famous landmarks, you might find this specific tour a bit limiting.
It was interesting to learn more about the history and how the buildings came to be! I feel like it can interesting for individuals that are new to Europe or Netherlands
John Jenland who has lived in AMS more than 20 yrs was very informative, easy-going and thorough, good personality !
The tour guide is really nice and gave great recomendations! Loved that he does the your with his dog! ❤️
I found the tour guide to be knowledgable and approachable. I learned a lot from him about the city, in just a few hours. I would recommend his tours.
I went on this tour yesterday and the tour guide was one of the best—Very knowledgeable about the city’s history and cultural impact. He also was approachable. You can have a good chat with him! I would strongly recommend this tour with him.
Outstanding walking tour. Tour guide (Sean) had great information on history of the city, its formation, its architecture and weaved through stories as we weaved in and out of the canals and corridors. Really a great tour.
The tour guide (Sean) was very knowledgeable and personable. He was accommodating and pointed out facts that aligned with our interests as he got to know us along the tour. Well worth it!
We signed up for this tour after the similar tour we had tickets for with Snurk Tours was canceled due to “not filling up”. As it turned out, we were the only 2 people on this tour and this company still gave us a 2.5+ hour tour! We appreciate this tour company (WOW) going over and above to keep their commitment. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and as a former professor he was very good at explaining Amsterdam’s history and culture. This was our first day in Amsterdam and both of us came away from the tour feeling like we have a very good understanding of Amsterdam.
My wife and I really enjoyed this tour a lot. We were lucky enough to be guided by Sean (or Shaun, not sure!), the owner of the business whose knowledge of Amsterdam history was incredible and really enlightening. We went to many great spots, mostly historical but also where they make the best cheesecake and the best liquorice too! Being in a small group allows you the opportunity to ask all the questions you want, and this was brilliant. Sean was knowledge, engaging but also very funny. If you want an Amsterdam tour, this is the one to go on
Nice to hear about the city from a local. Sean had a lot of good stories for us, both historical and from today.
Easy paced, informative. Guide really knowledgeable and gave best insights. Was a very good tour, enjoyable and guide also gev some great tips about the City
It is great and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and loved his little doggie. The tour was just long enough. And we were a group of four.
Our guide was absolutely terrible. He was arrogant, clearly prided himself on being an “insider”and hence told us almost nothing about the history of Amsterdam. We meandered around with no real plan for what we’d see.. When we asked about the author statue near one of the bridges, he said, ‘well first, tell me what you know about him?’ We had to constantly ask him to connect the dots on things. He was extremely proud of growing up in Europe and going to High school in West Chester(US). Big deal. It was a complete ripoff for 30 euros. We could have learned far more via Google. Do not book here.
We had a wonderful time on our tour! We did this on our first afternoon in the city and it was a great way to get a sense of the area and some local tips. Our guide (and his little dog) was very friendly and gave lots of good info.
Our guide (Sean) was very interesting in tying history and political and economic influence of Amsterdam. He provided great breakdown of how the land was reclaimed. We had a great time.
Very informative. Great historical information. Sean was happy to answer all our questions. All around a great tour.
Milwaukee (tour guide) was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We covered a lot of territory in 2 hours. The tour was a good value for the price….he will not disappoint.
David was amazing! He taught us so much, and he really encourages people to ask questions. I wouldn't hesitate to book with him in the future!
An excellent tour—highly recommended! We really enjoyed exploring Amsterdam with a knowledgeable local guide and learning so much about the city’s fascinating history
Very knowledgeable guide and very friendly. Appreciated the small group, felt much more intimate and conversational. Tour felt like not just hearing about the history of the city but more so "off the beaten" path.
Had a great time. Learned lots about Amsterdam and how it came to be the city it is today. Lots of excellent information
Even with the slight rain, the tour was great. Great group, sites, and our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and funny. He made the experience that much better.
Wonderful walking tour on August 7 with great pieces of history of Amsterdam provided. It was good introduction to the city .
Excellent small group tour for local knowledge, great urban tour (about city’s construction, organization and neighborhoods)
Had a fantastic time! Our guide was super knowledgeable and kept us entertained with his humor the entire time! He made sure we participated and had fun doing it. I'd highly recommend this tour!
Our very knowledgeable guide showed us the many neighborhoods of Amsterdam. It was fascinating. The walk was about 2 hours.
Very interesting and not your cookie cutter tour. Enjoyed our time and our guide customized the tour based on the group.
