We met up with Kees after our red eye flight from Toronto. He was very friendly and informative. An amazing amount of different food stops and beverages. We definitely didn't need to find a place for dinner after. Thank for the great intro to the city Kees!

Itinerary
The Munttoren is a tall, slender tower with a clock and a decorative spire. It has a historic, Dutch Renaissance style with a mix of brick and stone. Located at Muntplein, it was once part of a city gate and later used for minting coins. This is where you will start your culinary journey around Amsterdam!
The Flower Market in Amsterdam is a floating market on the Singel canal, famous for its vibrant stalls selling flowers, bulbs, and souvenirs. It’s a colorful and iconic spot in the city. In a colourful shop nearby, you will start your culinary journey with a delicious cheese tasting. Local products only!
Let's continue with 2 staples of Dutch and Amsterdam cuisine! At first, indulge on a hearty portion of fries (of course with a lot of sauce on top!) and then try some herrings, the most traditional fish in the Netherlands!
The Anne Frank House is a historic museum in Amsterdam where Anne Frank hid during WWII. It’s a narrow canal house with a secret annex, now a museum preserving her story and diary.
Have a stroll around the famous canals of Amsterdam, that made this town gain the nickname of "Venice of the North". And after that, have a seat in an adorable restaurant and try one of the most beloved main dishes in town: beef croquettes!
The Red Light District in Amsterdam is a famous area known for its red-lit windows, nightlife, and historic canals. It’s a mix of tourism, entertainment, and Dutch liberal culture. Please, notice that the Red Light District will be included only in case of adult-only tours.
Let's finish our culinary journey with the most iconic Dutch dessert: Stroopwafels. The perfect way to end our tour on a sweet note, in one of the most famous squares in town: the iconic Dam Square!

Fantastic food tour with Kees! Great mix of delicious local food, hidden gems, and fun stories about Amsterdam. Kees was engaging, friendly and made us feel welcome. Highly recommend!
Great tour with Kees! Good food and informative.
Delightful! Keese was a wonderful guide, full of information and the occasional dad joke. I had been skeptical if it would be enough food but it absolutely was. Highly recommend!
Me and my partner had a wonderful experience on this tour! Todd was incredible, friendly and so full of knowledge about the city and about the food we had! We had many different types of food and would totally book this again!
Irina is an amazing tour guide. We sampled a variety of unique foods common to the native Amsterdam citizen. She also knew her history and other facts about the food and tour sites. We got to experience dutch cheese, stroopwaffles, fries, apple pie and brandy. We toured an old beautiful little church, quiet court yard, food market and other areas while walking past neighborhoods and the royal palace. I've taken a food tour before in this city about 7 years ago and didn't have as much fun as I did with Irina.
Our tour guide Irina really made this tour exceptional! I've actually been on a food tour in Amsterdam before 7 years ago that felt uncomfortable at the time. This tour was exactly the opposite of that one. Irina was personable, knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our interests. The foods we tried were very different to us which we loved. Stroopwaffles, fries, herring, dutch cheese, apple pie...and quiet places, active markets, a very old church, chocolate shop, cheese shop, ECT. I highly recommend this tour. You will get to try foods that the regular person eats that lives in this unique city will experiencing the atmosphere and pace of life.
This food tour was great! We ate a variety of foods and learned tons about Amsterdam! The food included cheese, fries, delicious Suriname foods, and ended with amazing apple pie! I highly recommend the tour and Todd. He shared so much history it really aged to the experience.
Todd was spectacular! He blended the food experience with history lessons in between that really tied the entire story together. We also tried a new type of food at the Surinamese restaurant he took us to that was incredible!
Fair amount of walking on uneven surfaces if that's a concern. Lots of good do come hungry. Our guide, Keeps, was very knowledgeable both on food and Amsterdam history.
The tour was a fantastic view into life in Amsterdam. Our guide, Kees, was informative and enthusiastic, making for a fun outing. Would definitely recommend!
Kees was a fantastic guide! He was knowledgeable, funny, and gracious. Thank you for a delicious introduction to Amsterdam!
The tour was very delicious and interesting Our guide Kees was wonderful and very informative of all things Amsterdam! Would very much recommend!
Todd was a great guide - he read our interests really well. He gave us a perfect (for us) blend of the history of Amsterdam, physical layout of the historical center and tasty snacks folded into it all, most of which we wouldn't have known to try.
Kess was wonderful! He knew history and interesting things about the food.
Our guide Todd was great! The Tour company set this tour up Very Poorly! They advertised a full meal! It is Not! And no Herring. We went to a cheese store, thinking we would have a private tasting of the different cheeses and sauces they offered there, but it was the same tasting that was already set up for any of the public to come in and taste! No plates, no napkins….tiny, tiny, tiny bits of cheese and little tiny bits of broken hard bread to taste the sauces. Then we went to a french fry stand and stood in the hot sun and waited for our french fries and the different sauces which were actually delicious . Our guide was super nice and tried to make the most of it and found us a place to sit but it was in the hot sun. One frites for two people. Then a hot bakery for a fresh stroopwafels. There were no drinks except for the water bottles the guide provided. The last stop was bitterballens and a slice of Apple pie and a beer, wine or soft drink. I don’t call that a meal. We walked very far to each place. The food was all good. But not worth the money we paid! We have been on many food tours all over the world, and this was by far the worst one. Todd was great but the company he works for obviously doesn’t care for the customers.
We had an amazing food tour with Todd. The food stops were all delicious. Todd was very information and provided historic facts. We highly recommend this tour. We would do it again!
I hate to be the only "negative" review, but this food tour was unfortunately underwhelming. We were changed to a different date last minute from the date we had reserved. No problem, we were willing to be flexible. There were six of us in our family--my husband and myself and our four teenagers. There was also another lady who joined our group. For the amount of money we spent--about $550--I expected to not be starving at the end of the tour. Our first stop was a cheese tasting, which was quite good but please note the samples are quite small. Next, we got some fries and I must admit that we tried different sauces than I ever would have selected on our own so this was a benefit to having a guide. However, my husband tried to get in line to order more for himself but was told there would be plenty. Reader, there was not plenty. Our guide also did not buy waters for each person. We are a family, so I guess it is okay to share but that was a bit odd. Next we went to a place for stroopwaffels. The pictures they show prominently advertising the tour show the beautiful dipped stroopwaffels with toppings added. I incorrectly assumed those would be the type of stroopwaffels we would be served. Instead, we were given plain stroopwaffels. Yes, they were delicious, but that was not the expectation I had from the tour photographs. Our final stop was at a pub. We were given the option to order alcohol, but we just ordered sodas with our children. We were served a slice of dutch apple pie and one savory dish called bitter balls. They were both delicious, but at the end of the tour, we had basically eaten an ounce of cheese, two desserts, a handful of French fries and a fried savory ball. Our family had to go to a restaurant after to order actual dinner. Our guide was kind and informative. I won't list his name since I haven't been the most positive. We tried giving him a tip in US dollars and he didn't want to take it (although he is an American and clearly travels to the US as he told us he just flew in from NYC that morning). We should have just kept it.
We had an incredible food tour in Amsterdam with our guide, Todd, who is originally from Wisconsin and has lived in the city for 13 years. His deep knowledge of both Dutch culture and American perspective made the experience especially engaging and easy to understand. Our tour began with a walk through the vibrant flower market, followed by a stop at Henri Willig for some outstanding cheese. From there, we sampled a classic Dutch specialty—herring—which Todd explained in a way that made it approachable even for first-timers. We also enjoyed traditional Dutch fries with a variety of sauces, which were absolutely delicious. One of the highlights was Melly’s Stroopwafels, served warm right out of the oven—easily a favorite moment of the tour. We wrapped up the experience at a cozy local pub, which was the perfect ending. Throughout the tour, Todd pointed out key landmarks, shared fascinating insights, and patiently answered all of our questions. He also made sure to stop frequently for photos, which we really appreciated. His ability to interpret cultural nuances from a fellow American perspective made everything more meaningful and easy to follow. I would highly recommend this food tour with Todd—it was a perfect blend of great food, local history, and excellent company.

Todd was exceptional as a tour guide. We enjoyed each of our meal stops. The cheese, herring, Melly’s StroopWafels, fries with sauce and lunch were all outstanding. Great value for the money. Todd was so informative with knowledge of Amsterdam and the heritage.
Our family of 4 (2 teenagers) loved this food tour + Amsterdam history walk with Todd! He was the best. Very engaging and we especially loved the herring. Sign up for this tour with Todd- you won’t regret it!
Interesting Amsterdam tour with Dutch food experiences along the way. Good way to see city and eat along the way
Irina was incredible! She was so fun and knowledgeable and nice! We love food and Irina took us to interesting little places to try local cuisine. So delicious and things we would have never thought to try on our own. An experience I will never forget! I can’t recommend the tour and/or Irene enough.
A wonderful experience, food, a bit of history and a lot of fun.
Loved the Amsterdam food tour and our guide, Kees. Was able to really see a lot of the city, learn some interesting cultural and historical facts, and taste great Dutch food and drinks. Highly recommend!
Irina was wonderful and the stops felt very traditional. The food was fantastic!
Todd was an amazing tour guide! Took us to some awesome places, took photos for us, and was super easy to talk to. Would highly recommend!
Irina was terrific. Enthusiastic and prepared. She was obviously happy to share her love of the city and the food with us. It sss great to experience traditional Dutch foods.
Did a food tour with Todd, amazing experience for our family as we weaved through canals experiencing the history of the Netherlands and its cuisine !!
I arrived at Amsterdam with a group of 20. We were split into two groups for the food tour and Todd led the group I was in. I feel like we got a lot of history along with information on the food. We accomplished a lot in the few hours that we were together. Several in our group were hesitant of the herring, so Todd brought us back some smoked eel as well to provide a different option (I was hesitant on both but they were both very good), and even went back to wait over 15 minutes with no hesitation because someone asked for more pickles.
We had a wonderful tour with Todd! He did a great job explaining the different food and dishes we ate plus gave us great history of Amsterdam as we walked around. Todd did a great job of making sure we had plenty of food, seats when possible, and kept the tour entertaining and fun. Highly recommend this tour as a way to experience the city!

It was a wonderful way to try the best of Amsterdam and learn history along the way. Todd was excellent . He was very knowledgeable and a delight to talk with.
Tone was wonderful, very friendly, genuine and personalble. Even though he was not from Amsterdam originally, but his fiancee is. He took us to the original and authentic cuisines as part of the Netherland culture. He kept in touch even after the tour giving us ideas where to dine.
Our guide Toné knew a lot. He gave us a deeper understanding of the dutch cuisine. The food was also very good. We enjoyed the tour.
Kees is a wonderful guide. He is very knowledgeable about Amsterdam culture, history, food and more. He chose a nice range of items to taste and included so much history into our walk. We highly recommend his tour!
Tone was an awesome guide! extremely knowledgeable, friendly, fun and made sure our experience was perfect. would highly recommend this tour company and ask for Tone.
Irina was our guide and she did a fabulous job! She was interested in what we wanted to learn and was always happy to answer questions! This was an excellent value for the price and we saw parts of Amsterdam we would not have gotten to on our own. The time was good and we took breaks while we were walking. This is more than a good tour you also learn about the city.
Excellent food tour with Todd - great food and some history thrown in - highly recommended. Come hungry and expect some surprise eating experiences along the way.
This tour was fantastic and Todd was phenomenal! I can’t recommend this highly enough.
