I think the first half of the trip was to congested with cars. Much nicer on the way back

We had a great day riding to the Windmills, our tour leader Sebastian informative. We were very lucky to get a sunny break in the weather for our time at the windmills. We rode back wind and rain to Amsterdam. Would not have missed it!
First of all I receive a warm and friendly welcome by Thomas. He is the manager of the store. Our guide was Ann who is really a very nice person. We were with 15 persons but she gave each one of us her full attention. We did all the highlights mention in the program. We were lucky that it was nice weather too. Overall I would recommend this tour to everybody !
Sebastian was a fantastic guide. We had a wonderful day
We had a fantastic experience with Mike’s Bike Tours Amsterdam! Sebastian was an outstanding guide—professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to spend five hours exploring the city with. The tour was engaging, well-paced, and gave us a wonderful way to experience Amsterdam beyond the usual tourist stops. The five-hour tour was worth every cent! If you’re visiting Amsterdam and want to see the city from a different perspective, I highly recommend Mike’s Bike Tours. Ask for Sebastian, you won’t be disappointed! 🚲🇳🇱
Amazing time! Amazing guide, Tristen! I would go again!
This tour was absolutely worth the money! Hugh and Sam did a great job of guiding us. We had a smaller group, so there was lots of flexiblity to see what we wanted to see, and Hugh and Sam were very accommodating and very knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to catch Marcel while he was home (coordinated by Hugh) and got an intimate look at what it means to live in a working windmill. Overall, I would recommend this tour to everyone!
Our tour with David was a fantastic and refreshing experience away from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. The e-bike ride through the beautiful surroundings, especially in such great weather, was a real highlight. David was an engaging, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm guide who made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We had a wonderful time. Thank you, David!
Absolutely wonderful experience Hugh was an awesome guide , very informative, loved the windmill tour, cheese shop and the gorgeous countryside
Absolutely loved our tour with Mike's Bikes, and a big thank you to our guide Mark. My husband and I participated in the countryside tour, which featured windmills, cheese tasting, and lovely views all around. A perfect way to experience the area! Great experience for couples or groups. While most of the tour is spent on the bikes, there is a break in the middle for exploring the shops and windmills at Zaanse Schans, so this tour would also work well for a solo traveler comfortable with limited amounts of solo exploration time.
Tristan was the best guide for this incredible tour of the Dutch countryside. Tristan is an urban planner and gave insights into how Amsterdam was built reclaiming land from the water. The highlight was Marcelle and the tour of the windmill . And what a great experience to ride through the nature preserve too. Highly recommend this tour with Tristan.
Our guide Mark was very knowledgeable, told us about Amsterdam and surrounding areas, great cycle through the countryside Great Day
Well paced and enjoyable. The guide, Christain, was informative and very pleasant. Many of the things we saw were unique to this trip.
Mark was a wonderful guide and took us on a great adventure. Really loved the double countryside excursion. The windmills were amazing and the bonus windmill was even better
Mark is awesome!! Well worth it. The best way to see the windmills is with Mark! & views were stunning !
This was a great experience, once in a life time really because where else would you bike 40 km in Amsterdam countryside. With that being said, you need to be in good shape to complete this adventure lol. Stephane was a great tour guide.
We had a great day with Stephane! Small group which kept us all together, lots of stops and some snacks along the way, lots of time at the windmills as well as an up close visit to a working windmill and a detailed tour on how it works and has been working for a few hundred years. Great memories on this one!
Shout out to Tristan our guide. He was excellent. Highlight of the tour was visiting a working windmill. Can't recommend it enough.
Tristan was an excellent guide; he is very knowledgeable. Having someone who is from the area and also studied urban planning with an interest bike lane planning was an added bonus. I also highly recommend the bike tour experience. It was great to get a taste of the Dutch countryside and see some of the local villages. It’s going to be my new go to tour for warm season trips.
Mark was a terrific guide for our e-bike tour. I would recommend this tour as you get to see some many areas of Amsterdam and the countryside while biking. Mark’s bike lost his magnet so he was on his own power but he powered on the entire way. Thanks and great job Mark!
A great day out, everything ran smoothly, experienced guide Ginny was informative and kept everyone together. Electric bikes are well maintained, fun day out in the countryside, highly recommended this tour
Tristan was a very good tour guide, his knowledge of urban planning and local history was excellent. This is the second time I have used this tour operator and would highly recommend to others.
This is an excellent bike tour irrespective of whether you are traveling alone or as a group and any age range with moderate fitness. The ebike made the ride so easy and enjoyable and everyone in our group was able to keep a pace that was set very well by our guide. Mark is an excellent guide and his background as a historian meant he provided us with a ton of information that provided context for all that we saw. The windmills are a bit of a tourist trap in Zaanse Schans. I would still 100% recommend the ride because of the incredible countryside and the other windmills you will get to see along the way as you get to the more rural parts. It was a lovely getaway from the city.
Great ride, not difficult, you won't be sorry.
What a great hike tour. 24 miles on a e assist bike is easy going. Our tour guide Sebastian was awesome and was very detailed on the area. We stop at the famous windmill town and also another working windmill that we got to see up close. What a great tour.
Such a nice bike ride thru city and rural. Could not have asked for a nicer guide so knowledgeable and extremely kind. Would highly recommend. There were 4 of us over age 60 and we did this tour without any problem. The special tour of working windmill was my favorite part. Thank u for a great day
Our tour guide Mark was exceptional. He made sure that we all were having a great time and had wonderful pictures. He went above and beyond
Mark did a great job. Friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. An excellent day out and highly recommended.
The best bike tour I've done. Our guide David was incredible! So energetic and full of knowledge of Amsterdam. The bikes were also the best quality bikes we've ridden so far
An absolute blast! Enjoyed seeing the countryside and the windmills! Raffa was our guide and he was amazing!
My partner and I do a bike tour in every city we travel too. We wanted to see the windmills and wanted to have fun getting there. This tour, and most especially our guide Mark, was phenomenal! The meetup bike rental spot was easy to find. Everyone on the Team was warm and welcoming. The ride was easy, even when the rain started (we were prepared but they had ponchos for us too). It was really cool to see the countryside and more rural parts of the area. Our guide Mark was a fantastic teacher sharing his knowledge about the region and even more special, about the area he grew up. The tour did not disappoint in any way!
Our Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans E-Bike Tour with Mark was absolutely terrific! As a local, Mark had a lot of interesting places and stories to share that we never would have known anbout otherwise. If you can, try to take this tour with Mark! You won’t be disappointed!
Mark was a great guide and was full of interesting facts and stories about the history and culture of the Netherlands. We had a great trip and enjoyed the day out biking with him!
Mark claims to be a retired history teacher but the reality is he is still teaching history every day on his tours - even getting his coloured chalks out to draw on the pavement as there was no blackboard! This was a really enjoyable tour that was unexpectedly educational too (in a good way). 10/10
Sebastian was a great guide. He led us all safely and highlighted sites along the way. We had a chance to meet Marcel the miller and he told us about his day. Priceless. Thank you again Sebastian!
Amazing experience. Mark was an amazing tour guide. He was fun and engaging. We would have never experienced Amsterdam outside of city limits if we hadn't done this tour. We will be back and will book another tour with this company!
Highlight of the trip! We had so much fun riding through the countryside and despite the rain it still was so much fun! Simon was THE BEST guide!! He brought the humor, the history and the fun!
This was a highlight of our stay in Amsterdam! We really enjoyed the beautiful countryside views on the e-bike ride to Zaanse Schans. Learning how the windmills work was a great bonus and made the experience even more interesting. Our guide, Stephan, was friendly, knowledgeable, and very easy-going, which made the tour even more enjoyable. Even though the tour is around 5 hours, the e-bikes made it very comfortable and we never felt tired at all 😊 We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Amsterdam!
Tristen was an amazing guide. Full of fun facts and history. Very attentive to everyone on the trip.
Nice to have e-bikes. First half is mostly industrial; second half is mostly scenic. Windmill visit with the “miller”was the best part and quite interesting. Zaanse Schans visit was quaint, touristy, and a bit lengthy for our taste.
The tour was amazing! I wish we would’ve had a little bit more time in Zaanse Schans but the ride was wonderful! Rafa was a great guide! Would definitely recommend this tour!
What an awesome day!!! Rafa was a really fantastic guide. Not only is he very knowledgeable (and excited about windmills), he was very careful to make sure everyone was comfortable on the bikes and never too far behind. What an amazing way to get out of the city for the day and explore surrounding areas in a way that can only be done on a bike. I would rate this as a top highlight of our trip to Amsterdam.
Great tour of the country side and Rafa was a great guide
Wonderful excursion outside the city with great views.
Our guide David was fantastic, loved the experience, well worth ever penny!
The experience was nice, i wish they gave us more time at the Zaanse Schans.. I also loved the route.. Ps : The person at the office to be passive aggressive towards me, but my guide was awesome
So fun to get out of the city and see the countryside! Our guide Rafa was fantastic!
David is hands‑down the best tour guide I’ve ever had — and I’m convinced he might actually be part bicycle himself. He led our long ride out to Zaanse Schans with the patience of a saint and the chill energy of a musician who’s seen everything and still thinks life is great. Even when the wind tried to personally attack us, David kept the group smiling, encouraged everyone, and made the whole ride feel like an adventure instead of a workout. He shared great stories, kept the pace perfect, and made sure no one ever felt rushed or left behind.
High was a great guide. Very knowledgeable. He even arranged a private tour with an owner of a windmill that wasn't part of the normal tour. I would definitely recommend taking a bike tour and especially from Mike's Bike Tours.
Great day out with David as our guide. Highly recommend.
