Our skipper Ricky is a wonderful person and guide. We had a perfect trip with him. Our group of runners for the marathon and half marathon loved to see so much of the city without walking before the race. Ricky even changed the route to our ideas and gave us a very special insight! Totally recommend!!!

it was great expereince overall
Ricky was an absolute legend. Thank you for having us and showing us an incredible different experience of Amsterdam. Sending love from Australia 🇦🇺
Ricky the captain. Emma the host were AMAZING !!!!!! They ensured thorough enjoyment of the experience !!! From history, comedy, and service !! Would most certainly recommend!!!! It happened to be my birthday and they appropriately celebrated with me ! Invited the boat group to sign happy bday to me and all!! In the words or Arnold shxwnewnegger ***** …
Great time! Ricky, the captain, Emma and David, the bartenders were the best! Would absolutely recommend
Had a lot of fun on the boat with Ricky, Lars and David. They took care of us in the best way possible!
It was raining like crazy and decided on the spur of the moment to go. We were walking past it and saw the tour was starting as we arrived, booked it and loved the entire experience. Akram, the tour guide, was friendly, professional, informative and went beyond to engage with us and offered to let us take pictures from the entrance of the boat while maneuvering the vessel to turn to allow everyone to get the best views possible. Akram made it worth more than the cost of the tickets and we just like to thank him for that. Definitely recommend anyone to do this.
Ricky is a very experienced captain very impressed with his knowledge and skill definitely book with Canal tours Amsterdam it’s a very good experience and it’s very beautiful and relaxing and informative.
We loved the experience! And the best captain, very friendly, Ricky. We did a tour with visualisation goggles, it was something spectacular, you could see Amsterdam from back in the days. What was nice about it was that you didn’t have to wear those goggles all the time, only at the special spots. We truly loved the experience. Highly recommended!
Ricky, our captain was fantastic! I did already few boat trips around Amsterdam but this one was the best. Funny, informative and engaging. Will def book again!
Pretty good tour. It was 1 hour long. Ship was full. Captain Ricky was a very fun person.
Fantastic experience, from the moment we met Ricky he was amazing. Such a fun guy who clearly loved his job. The girls serving were amazing as well, the pizzas are fantastic. I could not finish mine. Highly recommend this and a must do
Very nice and quiet trip! Ricky is number 1
Nice experience doing the canal cruising in a cloudy day! During the the cruise we went to all major sites that our boat could fit! Ricky our captain is great guy with really great sense of humor and providing lot of info
We had a really enjoyable ride with Ricky, he created a comfy atmosphere, and we chuckled at his dry humour quite a few times
Ricky was our captain and I sadly don’t remeber the names of the crew members. Everyone was amazing, they were all so friendly! Ricky opened the back of the boat and it made the experience so much better! Also love that we get our own personal pizza. 100% recommend.
We went with Ricky, amazing guy and very funny and nice! He does some extra explaining on top of the audio guide - very informative - also: he acts and looks a little like american comedian Chris Redd :)
Ricky was our captain and was brilliant. I would highly recommend this trip with him.
Seeing Amsterdam from its canals remains one of the best ways to explore the city. The prerecorded explanations were supplemented by many anecdotes from Skipper Hans, making it is very enjoyable experience.
Beautiful scenery and the boat trip felt very safe and relaxing. A nice trip with very friendly personal and very good cocktails
I had the worst experience making this booking. We were at the correct pick up point but the boat never showed up. We contacted Tripadvisor before the scheduled pick up time on the 24X7 chat and they stated they are unable to reach the Tour operator. We wasted a whole hour and then put in a refund request + Credit card dispute. Both of which they rejected that it is against 'cancellation policy'. When the whole time there was no way even for them to reach the tour operator. Ended up losing a 14 person booking.
Amazing staff, really nice and gave a beautiful experience
Hans was a great guide! He was funny and so knowledgeable throughout the whole time! He told us many interesting facts about the city and was a great guide!
Valesca was a good guide with interesting local knowledge and great customer service.
Amazing tour, our guide for the open boat tour was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining.
Our guide, Ricky, was extremely knowledgeable and made the trip easy to follow and informative. It was funny and unique which my friends and I found ideal. Great for anyone as a fast and relatively inexpensive way to see and learn about the city.
The reception guys they are the best they were polite so kind and helpful so funny!! I’m very happy for this trip and I will come again to this beautiful hotel its traditional and it’s like museum
Very entertaining boat trip. Ricky makes this really informative whilst adding his humour which made us laugh. Would recommend anyone coming to Amsterdam to book his trip.
On our first afternoon in Amsterdam, it was too late to go to a museum, so my spouse and I decided to take this short canal cruise. It was a pleasant enough experience; at times the captain would speak and at other times there was recorded narration. We got to view some sights that we didn't see on our last visit and learned a bit about the architecture of the canal houses. Overall it was worthwhile.
G8 value and good tour, good price, easy directions. Going through the canals gives a different perspective.
I recmend this trip …………………..
The captain was knowledgeable and we really got a sense of Amsterdam.
This is a great tour for a very reasonable price. The tour lasts for about an hour and it will take you through the city canals in a very relaxed and pleasant manner. You’re welcome to bring a beer that you can buy at the ticket booth or any other refreshments. The captain was very friendly, informative and professional. He took that boat through those waters with great skill and precision.
Our canal cruise in Amsterdam with Captain Ricky was fantastic. The views along the historic canals were beautiful, and the experience was both relaxing and informative. Captain Ricky shared engaging stories about Amsterdam’s history and architecture, which made the city feel alive and meaningful. I highly recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Amsterdam
I took a canal cruise in Amsterdam I guess all companies are the same I'm leaving a 5 star because our Captain Andre was awesome! He didn't just let the pre recorded audio provide information but he also added his own commentary which was awesome! Andre was welcoming and friendly which made this cruise much better and interesting!
It went part way round the canal then turned 180 degrees and went back the same way showing us the same stuff with the same pre-recording. The stroopwaffle only applies if you get the tour away from the train station. Pretty deflating.
Amazing, many things to see and history to hear about. All staff were kind, the boat was well kept, Very enjoyable.
This was a really smooth and pleasant experience with our captain, who i believe is called Michael. We really enjoyed the sightseeing and description with captivating stories of the famous stroopwafels. Would love to revisit.
It is a fun boat ride with lots to see. Very interesting. It was an hour long and they were on time.
Just ok. We were not told to take the stroppewaffel. Luckily, my daughter spotted that others had them... bit unwelcoming feel. The audio was not up to date.
Nice calm, friendly experience, we enjoyed it, very nice. Worth the money. FYI it says look for the stormma stand but it isn’t clearly signed so we was walking up and down but had got there early and found it by asking.
Overall very average. It felt like the tour was on autopilot. There was nothing to complain about the tour but it did not stand out in any way. There was snack promised in the package and nobody offered a snack until we asked for it at the end of the tour
It was a good experience. Unfortunately there are a group of people that talking each other loudly, that makes it hard to listen the audio guide. We chose this cruise because of no drink / beer included and we think that will be quiet and enjoyable ride. Hopefully there is a policy to keep down the noise.
First, when I showed up to board I was told I was in the wrong place. I had to prove to them I was at the address on my ticket. Then they didn't accept my Viator ticket until I complained. By that time all the window seats on the boat were taken - very hard to see anything if you have an aisle seat. When I did this tour it was advertised as having a free drink, which was a lie. Perhaps they will be better at giving out the stroopwafels. Finally, boat pilot also crashed into the side of pier 3 times at the end of the tour. I would recommend not pre-booking one of these, but rather showing up the pier when you have time in your schedule. They leave all the time and I think the price is better.
Ricky was amazing and knowledgeable, with a touch of humor to add to his professionalism. I highly recommend the sunset sailing with Ricky. Gratuities are always a nice way to show your appreciation. I am writing this 3 months late because I forgot, and he was that memorable.
It was raining but since the boat was covered it was still had great views of the city and we were able to open the boat windows to take pictures
Great guide and wonderful way to see Amsterdam. Highly recommend this particular time especially if you are short on time in the city like we were.
Booked this for a short trip with my two daughters. Was able to adjust time as needed and found location quite easily via google maps. Friendly boat captain who chatted and informed us of sights. Had been warm day in 30s so part of roof and windows were open. I stood to get clear shots out roof as wasn’t by open window. Very smooth and relaxed. Enjoyed
A very pleasant tour of the canal network with some interesting information. The boat was clean and presentable and the pilot was very helpful. Unfortunately there were young children on the boat who were very noisy, disruptive, and made it difficult to hear all the information we were being told, we appreciate it is the responsibility of the parents to control their children, but it would have been nice if the tour was adults only and there was a different tour for families with children.
Cruise was smooth and the audio was informative. However, the other guests on the boat were extremely loud and there were many young children. I usually do not mind children or people enjoying themselves, but we were unable to hear the audio for most of the tour because of the noise. Most of these people had earbuds on to listen to the tour in a different language, so I assume that they were unaware of how unenjoyable they were making the experience for others. I would recommend spending a bit more on a smaller or nicer tour.
