This was incredible. Informative, interactive and delicious. The upgrade due to the log jam of customers was a nice surprise.

Should be #1 attraction in Amsterdam. The entertainment provided through the museum was great but the staff and value for money during the cocktail masterclass was just fantastic! Cannot recommend this enough for anyone.
Great experiences! Loved the museum and making the cocktails!
An Unforgettable Cocktail Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely fantastic time at the House of Bols Cocktail Experience and Workshop! The entire tour was interactive and beautifully designed, but the absolute highlight was the cocktail workshop itself. A massive shoutout to our bartender, Lars, who was excellent! He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and brought a fantastic energy to the session. He made learning the art of mixology both easy and highly entertaining. If you're looking for a fun, flavorful, and top-tier experience, this is it—and if you get Lars as your host, you're in for a real treat! Highly recommended!
Very informative. The self guidrd tour let you take your time through all the rooms. The drink was great. We really enjoyed the cocktail making class. Highly recommend.
Had a blast in the cocktail class.
Had a blast doing the cocktail making class. Would highly recommend this to anyone who likes to mix their own. It was entertaining, fun and informative.
It was so nice and I had a very good time while doing this tour. The people told a lot of interesting things and I have learned a lot that day.
It was nice to enjoy the environment and flavours. The best old fashioned I have had. ❤️ Yum yum yum
I had so much fun and im glad i get to see the museum.
It was amazing! A very nice cocktail workshop, also something you can make at home.
Coctails and experience are perfect
IT was simply AMAZING! We had a great time! Lovely staff!
Fun interactive experience and cocktail class is great and educational.
Was such an interesting tour. Cocktails were lovely. Rebecca was really good explaining the cocktails.
lovely staff amazing experience
I loved this experience, learning about the history of Bols, and all of the imagery accompanying it made it so fun. The interactive moments and the design of the museum spoke to this interior designers’ heart! Love the opportunities to share social moments, spread the word, this is an awesome activity to do while in Amsterdam!
Awesome experience lovely staff
It was very fun. The cocktailworkshop was Amazing, very Nice lady.
Such a great experience! Exhibits were interactive, fun, and cocktails were great!! Highly recommend for couples or groups!!
One of the highlights of the trip. Interesting tour and then the cocktail experience. Beautiful building. Learning how to make cocktails properly was fun and you get to enjoy then once you have made them. Highly recommended.
Great fun, really enjoyed this. Group of women on a weekend away celebrating a 50th birthday. Highly recommend this to anyone going to Amsterdam.
What a great experience! Not only was the tour experience very interesting it was educational and interactive. The cocktail workshop with Sercan was outstanding. He is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about his work and it made for a really fun class. Would highly recommend!
Lars was my guide and bartender and was great! Very informative and helpful. This was a really fun tour!
We booked this while in Amsterdam and really enjoyed it . A self guided audio tour of the museum starts the tour, and in each of the rooms you learn about the art of distilling and different tools to make cocktails as well as the effect of glass shape and Ice on your drink .Another room has a whole wall of different atomizers that allow you to test your ability to identify the many aroma’s in a cocktail . There is a virtual bartender in another room to teach you how to use a Boston Shaker . The second half of the tour starts with a cocktail of your choice in their very modern bar , Afterwards we moved to the “bar lab’ and a bartender teaches the class how to make 2 different cocktails . Each person has their own set of bar tools and is walked through each cocktail . Very fun way to end an afternoon in Amsterdam . Highly recommend if you have the time and are interested in the art of cocktail making .
Bols Experience on its own is a wonderful experience of learning about the history of this famous liquor! But the highlight of the experience was the cocktail tasting. I couldn’t choose what I wanted so the bartender Sercan made me his signature cocktail. Deja Vu, what an experience! Flavors layered and a beautiful representation of the city of Amsterdam, this is a MUST drink to try. At first taste I couldn’t decide if I love or hate it but I was so intrigued that I kept drinking! I advise you to order this drink and have Sercan tell you the story of how he brought these flavors together! This will be enough for you to fall in love with the drink and you will see Amsterdam in a complete different light!
I enjoyed my experience, I would recommend tour was interesting. First cocktail I enjoyed- I don't normally drink cocktails, left the decision to the staff, they made a good choice and had fun making 2 further cocktails
I had honestly forgot this included the Bols Museum/Experience as well as the cocktial making class, so that was a nice surprise. It felt a little bit like the Johnnie Walker Scotch experience (if you've been), in that it was partly interactive, allowing you to do a "sensory" room and smell many different ingredients, which made it fun. At the end, you get a drink and then, during the cocktail making course, you make two more. So definitely don't arrive on an empty stomach, ha. It was interesting to hear the history of J/Genever, as I had honestly not heard about it until coming here (and I am a big cocktail person). Jennifer was our bartender and she was fanstastic, being patient and kind when half the class did not follow instructions correctly, and making sure everyone had a great time. I have been to other places throughout europe that do a "cocktail making course" and those have been pretty "meh" - often times just replicating a few drinks from "Sex and the City;" this felt like a unique experience using unique ingredients, so it was a lot more fun.
We went in for the experience but, upgraded to the workshop. The experience is very cool and well worth the hour or so spent on it. Lots of things to see and do. The cocktails in the bar after were perfect of course. The workshop was lead by a great bartender who showed us how to make a great cocktail and gave us some info on how to personalise the drinks. Highly recommend!
When my boyfriend and I visited, the experience was closed, so we only had the opportunity to take the cocktail class. Our host for the night did a great job still working to give us genever and Bols history via PowerPoint in between instruction on how to make three cocktails of varying difficulty. We left happily tipsy (and beyond lol) after four drinks with new liquor and cocktail ideas! This ended up being one of our chaotic top activities of our trip. The only downside - the gift shop is currently closed!
A fun and interactive experience. We had a lot of fun trying to guess all the scents and the tour was also informative on the history of Bols and Genever. The kiosks where you choose your cocktail at the end were NOT working well (or not at all), which was very frustrating – we recommend just going up to the bar to order and bypass the kiosks! We also did the 30-Minute Cocktail Workshop and LOVED it. The bartender was fun and very accommodating when dealing with my citrus allergy. The two cocktails we made were delicious. SO MUCH FUN and definitely worth it!
This was a fun afternoon touring the distillery & learning about the herbs, spices and flavors used to create all the outstanding products. The mixology part was the best and lots of fun!
A fun and educational time. I loved the immersive experience. Smelling touching and tasting gave a rounded experience. The audio guide was a good way to experience the tour in my own tempo. The cocktails were deliscious and the course was just enough. Fun!
Absolutely amazing experience, very fun and great value. Maya made our cocktails and was incredible, would be worth it to come back again just to see them :)
Do Not Buy - Venue did not let us complete this due to this activity stating Viator has went bust. It seems there’s been a lack of communication between both parties.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Great value for ey. Easy booking and ran on time. The audio guide was excellent and the tour is really interesting. The free cocktail was fun and great to watch the barman make it for you. The cocktail class was great fun! Overall good value for money and a fun experience!
Do not reserve this pre-paid, non-refundable and non-reschedulable tour if you are relying on an airline to get you into Amsterdam within five or six hours of the start time (we are looking at you, Delta). We can’t comment on anything else, but it did look like fun. We did a Jenever tasting at Proeflokaal de A. van Wees instead, which was interesting.
This was so much fun! The tour was interactive and very interesting. The workshop was really fun. I can’t wait to try the recipes at home
We had so much fun! The visit was very hands-on They made the historical part quite interesting with light shows, smelling different flavors, looking at the many spices they use, etc.. The staff was extremely accommodating and the workshop was great...so were the drinks! We left with 3 cocktail recipes and we purchased 4 reasonably priced pre-mixed drinks to try during the rest of our stay in Amsterdam ex. This was definitely worth the price of the tickets. I went with a friend, but t' would also make a great date night.
This 60-min cocktail workshop is absolutely worth it and a steal for the price. You take the tour and enjoy a drink, then you’re led upstairs to the Cocktail Academy which is really stunning. Our instructor, we called him “S” for short, was really amazing. Walked us through the methods of making three great cocktails. There are full bar stations set up for everyone, complete with shakers, strainers, fruit, liquors etc. Really impressive. I honestly can’t say enough. You do make three drinks in an hour (and enjoy them as well) so we made sure to have a decent meal beforehand. Great prelude to a fun night out.
Had the most lovely time doing the workshop experience and the self guided tour prior to it. The tour was incredible for the senses as well as learning about the history of Bols. At the end we ended up at the bar where we had a free drink token which we redeemed on a screen with a variety of drink choices. For the workshop, there were twelve people in total which meant we were able to get assistance if needed and have a more detailed lesson. The two drinks we made were amazing as we are able to personalise one of them with any flavour. Overall an amazing experience and would highly recommend!
this is my second time in Amsterdam and second time to Bols...it is a must do every time in Amsterdam
Fun quick activity. It was cool learning about Genever and making cocktails! Interesting history of liqueur making from the oldest distillery in Europe.
This was so much fun! The tour was interactive and interesting and the cocktail making was a blast. I would highly recommend.
We had a great time touring their museum and experiencing the cocktail workshop. That was a great time in the workshop.
Loved this. Cocktail class with Maurie (hope I got his name right! He said it was like Maurice) was brilliant and we followed this up with the tour before parking ourselves in the bar for a few drinks afterwards. As well as Maurie we were looked after by Kiki who’s sense of humour was amazing and her cocktail skills out of this world. A must visit attraction in Amsterdam!
My husband and I enjoyed the Bols cocktail workshop. We had the opportunity to create 2 cocktails with instructions from the mixologist. Our instructor showed us how to use to shake cups and how to release them after shaking! We met some new people and had a ball. I would recommend this tour. Just be sure to arrive 1 hour before Start of the workshop to enjoy the tour.
This was one of our favorite overall experiences on our trip through Europe. It is a perfect mix of history and temporary Amsterdam. Learning about making cocktails and actually making our own was super fun. The drinks were delicious. We enjoyed the historical aspect and the historical tour and then we got to experience there skilled bartenders, making us unique drinks with flare. I would highly recommend this experience.
I came here with my fiance for our 10 years anniversary ❤️ . We first did the tour that teaches u about the rich history of Genever and de brand Bols. And after that we did the Coctail workshop we made some great cocktails. So Yummy 😋 at the workshop we had an amazing barterder called Beril she has three signature cocktails . U need to ask for Spring in a Glass im telling u HEAVEN!! My day was already special because of my anniversary but she gave it a VIP upgrade. Thank u Beril and Bols for a memory we will never forget. I even made a new friend at the workshop Shout out to Dokter America u know who u are 😜 So take my word for it and go experience a workshop u wont regret it except if u hate hangovers😅
Beril (full first name: Berilzeynep), our workshop mixology master, is absolutely totally f!!cking awesome!!! (I’m not sure I’m allowed to say that, but Beril gave me verbal permission.) She was not only incredibly knowledgeable and talented, but most importantly, she was so engaging and fun! Areti checked me in. She is also delightful—so knowledgeable about the 450 year House of Bols history yet has only worked at Bols for month! The audio guided tour was great and very well done. I am not much of a gin drinker, but I appreciate the storied history of the House of Bols. The best part by far, however, was the Mixology Workshop. If you’re not looking for an educational, fun, and fantastic time, you should look elsewhere. You’ll only have a great time at the House of Bols—especially if you’re lucky enough the get Beril.
