An absolutely wonderful experience and by far the best way to see the city! It was such a special and memorable part of our trip. The boat was lovely, and the staff were fantastic—warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive. Truly one of the highlights of our visit. Highly recommend!
This is the most amazing thing I have done in Amsterdam, it’s wonderful. The only thing I would say was some confusion in the location of the pick up point. it wasn’t where we were told, it was another location. but for the money and the people there who are helping you with a route, it’s totally worth it.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE going on a Cocktail Canal Cruise when in Amsterdam. I do it often and take friends and colleagues as I am airline crew and there often. Everyone always has a GREAT time!!

My friend and I had a lovely canal cruise thanks to Mokumboot. Ingrid was particularly helpful in getting us set up at the Amstel location and helping us plan our route. There's no better way to see the canals - I plan to do this whenever friends visit me from out of town.
Really good couple of hours, boat was easy to control. And the pace just about right. Some of the big tour boats are slightly faster on some stretches so had to keen an eye out for them coming up behind! Overall great way to spend a few hours and a break from walking around the city was appreciated
We had such a great time! Ingrid explained the different routes really well and had some great recommendations. The pickup point was also really easy to get to, which made everything super straightforward. Despite the rainy weather, we still had an amazing time on the boat. An Amsterdam must-do experience! Mokumboot has several great locations along the canals in central Amsterdam so you don't waste a lot of time picking up your boat far away and then motoring into the city from afar. We picked up our boat in front of the Hotel Okura. Rate is reasonable and well worth it, the electric motors power along at a nice canal speed, and the young man who attended to us at pick-up and drop-off was very helpful and friendly. We'll use Mokumboot every time from now on, we visit AMS several times per year and this is one of our favorite activities.

We’ve hired boats from here before. Not bad, but there’s a few issues: it’s pretty expensive if there’s only 2 of you; we found our boat to be very sluggish with erratic steering (my mate is very experienced when it comes to steering boats and he felt the boat didn’t respond properly); the route we were given for a 2 hour trip only lasted an hour and a half. It’s a fun thing to do, but Mokum Boats could make a bit more effort.
We had a great time. We'll definitely do this again. Everything was well organized, and explained clearly before we started. Maps easy to follow. We took the two hour rental and we followed the two hour route, and we were back exactly at the correct time without rushing. It was just a great time.
This is our third time renting with Mokumboot. We’ve taken family and it’s the best way to see Amsterdam. This time our boat was louder than it has been before but overall was a great experience from start to finish.

Although the boat engine broke down, we got a replacement boat very quick. The rest is nice boating on the canal, wouldn’t be bad to also have oars, in case something like this happens.
I would not recommend renting these boats. They are electric with a rudder. They have a short tiller made from dowel rod. They are difficult to control and uncomfortable. With only one person they are the slowest boat on the canals. For a little more money get a boat with a wheel. They float very well.

The boat didn’t work, it was super slow, even walkers overtook us! After an 1,5h the boat just stopped working in the middle of the river! Still waiting for my refund. The service at the place was good but our experience wasn’t worth the money !!!
We enjoyed our two hour route - it was the perfect amount of time to see the oldest part of the city with it's beautiful old architecture. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle (and garbage in the streets) this is truly a great way to people watch and tour with no pressure or risk of getting hit by a bike!
LOVE boating with Mokuboot!! I am a flight attendant and travel to AMS 3-4 times a month. I LOVE taking crews out for a cocktail cruise through the canals and Beautiful Amsterdam. It's a great fun & in expensive afternoon/evening.

amsterdam from another perspective
Absolutely the highlight of my visit to Amsterdam. Go as close to sunset as possible. It’s easy enough for anyone to Do. Bring a bottle of wine and some snacks. It’s beautiful and fun.
We've booked a three-hours Ride as a Family with our large Dog. Picking-up and returning the boat was very easy and uncomplicated. We received a brief instruction and a map (which also includes there proposed routes) and were set sails. The staff was very friendly ans helpfull. The boat was nice and plenty of space for 4 people plus: there was enough space for our dog could walk around. It ran exaxtly the 6 km/h which is also the speed limit in the canals (also for the big boats). Map ist quite clear in where to go and where not. Steering was quite intuitive and very easy to learn: a steering wheel for the rudder and a throttle for speed. Driving the boat was easy in the channels as there was limited traffic (we were there ob a Monday) and every boat obeyed the speed Limit. On our 3-hour Ride, we were able to see a big chunk of the inner city south of the IJ in a very relaxing way as we avoided the crowds. It was a great experience to see people, the people, city and its monuments everything from the waterside avoiding the crowds. It's also possible to park and leave the boat (although it seems to be forbidden in Most areas) but we didn't make use of it. It was definitely a great trip and worth every Cent. So we will so it again in our next visit. NOTE: We hired the boat south of the IJ and it's forbidden to cross the IJ. Therefore you must decide upfront which part you would like to see by boat

We booked a 3-hour boat trip, but unfortunately the boat broke down after only one hour. The most disappointing part was how the situation was handled. When we called because we were stranded, we didn't receive an empathetic response or any apology. We were told it would take about an hour before someone could come to assist us, and the staff even mentioned that the situation was "very inconvenient" for them, which was frustrating to hear while we were the ones stuck waiting. We understand that mechanical issues can happen, but good customer service is about how those situations are managed. A more understanding attitude, better communication, and a sincere apology would have made a big difference.
