Itinerary
We are starting at A Bike Vondelpark for our tour, everyone gets a bike and ready to go.
We will start the tour and make our way through Amsterdam Oud-West. This is relatively laid-back and features several wide streets lined with dozens of trendy bars, restaurants and concert venues
We will visit the old gas factory that is turned into a Culture Park since 2003.
We ride through the beautiful 19th century Westerpark, one of the calmer city parks in Amsterdam with some amazing pieces of art.
Cycling to the new Houthavens area and see the modern pontsteiger building and more architecture in the old harbour. We will take the ferry to the other side of the river
Go over the early 20th century NDSM wharf where big ships were built until the 1980's. We will see big halls, ramps for ships and an old crane. The terrain is also famous for all the street-art and we can have a drink in one of the inspiring bars on the terrain (beverages not included).
See one of the most special hotels in Amsterdam, Hotel Faraldo made in an old crane.
Cycling over the bikepaths in the new Amsterdam North, Industrial and a lot of modern architecture.
We will pass the Eye filmtheater, modern architecture.
Take the ferry to cycle next to Amsterdam Central Station and learn more about our cycling culture.

Excellent E-cycle tour with Christian around wonderful Amsterdam. Well paced and informative fun trip that just flew by. Highly recommended, particularly with Electric bikes as they are so easy. Thanks.
Exceded our expectations… Mike was very informative and also very good communicator. Very pleased. Tracy from Australia
David was an excellent guide! He was full of fun historical facts about the city and country. The sun was out for 2/3 of our ride. We ran into a touch of rain, but our whole group did great. Highly recommend!
Wonderful experience that absolutely would not have been possible without such an extraordinary guide teaching us how to navigate the much more complicated biking world of Amsterdam.
Sam was an amazing tour guide - he was patient and informative…with a great sense of humor. We had 5 of us signed up, and he handled our group with ease. I would highly recommend Sam, as well as Mike’s Tours Amsterdam!
This is an awesome way to see the country side not just the hustle and buslte of the city. Christian was very attentive and inclusive.
Rissa was a very gracious and knowledgeable guide.
Wonderful experience ! Christian was awesome and took us on a great adventure and giving us plenty of information about the area!! Bikes were in good shape and also Christian made sure we all followed bike safety! Would definitely recommend!!
We had such a great day exploring the countryside to Zandam & the windmills with our young guide who had a fantastic knowledge of everything Netherlands, was funny and well organised. He was studying Urban Design & Landscaping. He even organised a surprise stop at a working irrigation windmill on the way back to Amsterdam for us. We met a retired man who actually lived in the windmill with his wife. The bikes were great and everything ran smoothly ( 6 hrs went very quickly). We did get a bit of rain, but were prepared for it so not an issue. Some of the group were not experienced and had falls on slippery cobbles only some 4 km into the ride and chose to return, so just saying whilst the bike paths and roads are flat you need some riding experience to make the trip enjoyable and that's not "I rode a bike when I was 10!" All in all a great time and well worth the money.
Annemarie was a fabulous guide! She was caring and patient with us (our kids are young!) and we had one of our best experiences of our trip with her! The countryside is beautiful and we would recommend this to anyone. We had urban arrow bikes - one for our two young girls and one for my mother - and it worked great!
After exploring the city history and sights, had a private bike tour with Rance. 25 miles, (pedal assist), out and back along the Amsterdam countryside. HIGHLY recommend. Member of party is a Bird Photographer. At the ready, Rance had a well-worn, dog-eared, local bird book in his bike pannier! He also had tissues, wet-naps, and hand sanitizer! Rance is a man who comes prepared! His area knowledge was informative and interesting. The country is beautiful and serene. All the staff at Mike's Bike Tours Amsterdam were welcoming and friendly. Thank you for your Dutch hospitality!
This tour was amazing, even on a gray, windy, chilly, rainy day! Simon did an excellent job making sure each rider had a perfect bike and helmet. He provided a fun, safe, entertaining ride. We had a ball and every rider wished we coukd have gone longer because the scenery was so lovely and we were all having such a good time. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful time with Mark on our all-day tour. As a long time local, he took us off the beaten path and we had a lovely stop at Marcel's windmill. Mark was generous with sharing his knowledge and I learned a lot! The destination itself was mediocre, but the trip there and back was excellent, including the free smell of cookies and chocolate on the way there.
The Amsterdam City Bike Tour with Mark was fantastic! In just 2.5 hours, we explored the historic center and vibrant Jordaan, all while soaking in local stories. Mark's detailed insights made the ride both stimulating and entertaining. The stops at Vondelpark and the Museum Quarter felt like treasures waiting to be discovered. Highly recommend for a local experience!
Simon was an excellent guide. Interesting and funny facts. However as tours goes, this was difficult due to the number of bike riders in Amsterdam that have zero regard for others and the traffic was tricky to maneuver. Many near collisions making the ride itself not as enjoyable as other cities I’ve done tours in, including Rome which was crowded. No fault of the tour company just a fact of Amsterdam biking as we heard from locals. Ride with caution if you choose to take a tour.✔️
The bike tour was excellent. The bikes ran well. The places we stopped were amazing. I would only wish maybe we went a little slower. So we could enjoy some of the views. Simon was an excellent tour guide and I love his UK accent.
Despite the rainy weather, we thoroughly enjoyed this tour of the countryside. Thanks to Mark for sharing his knowledge and sense of humour with us. Highly recommend.
Mark was super knowledgeable and absolutely enjoyed the whole day! Can recommend as a tour and guide. A great mix of city/region, countryside and learnt lots about history of the city, how it was built. Thanks Mark and hope bike sorted.
From speaking with the wonderful staff about the different tour options, to meeting our fantastic guide and experiencing the tour itself, I would highly recommend this experience. What a magical day! Our guide, Tristan, was absolutely lovely, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. He even organised a little side trip to a local miller’s home, where we got to see the workings of a windmill up close. The whole day was simply perfect!
David was an excellent guide.! He took us to great places at a good pace. We cannot say enough good things about him and the tour!!
Great way to see other parts of Amsterdam, down little side streets. Conny our guide was fantastic very knowledgeable being Dutch herself was very informative
Such a great time! Jaab was a great tour guide and made the day so fun! Even in the rain, we had such a blast and learned so much.
We had an incredible experience with Christian! The e-bikes, tour, stops, sites were all amazing. The cheers and clog factory was so much fun and entertaining. We couldn’t ask for a better guide than Christian. We felt well guided and cared for throughout our experience and appreciated his humor and sincerity. Thank you for one of our favorite excursions Christian!
First time in Amsterdam and Jaap gave us a really interesting and detailed tour! Very experienced and considerate guide, made sure we all made it in one piece amongst the cycling traffic of the City! Would highly recommend. Thank you Jaap.
We did this bike tour at the end of our trip to the Netherlands and it was well worth it! After seeing so much of the cities, it was really nice to head out to the country side where it is less busy, but so beautiful. The e-bike made it easy to take a more leisure ride or challenge yourself a bit more physically. Our guide Christian was amazing and it is a tour well worth experiencing.
Simon was brilliant, very knowledgeable and interesting. Would definitely recommend. Ps Sorry we had no cash for a tip!
Biking through the beautiful countryside and being surrounded by nature was such a wonderful way to explore the area. Simon was an absolutely fantastic tour guide! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience so much fun from beginning to end. The cheese tasting was delicious, and the clog experience was such a fun and memorable touch! A truly lovely experience and one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you, Simon, for making the tour so enjoyable and special. Highly recommended!
Sam was a great guide, taking us around Amsterdam and stopping at places along the way to give us some history of the country and city. Amsterdam is crazy! Full of hundreds of fast bicyclists, trams, bridges, canals, and pedestrians to watch out for! It was a long ride so we were exhausted at the end! But felt like we had seen the whole city!
My two older teenagers and I took the Countryside E-Bike Tour: Cheese Farm & Clog Workshop tour. This 4 hour tour is perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and hustle of the city into a peaceful green environment to learn more about the history of the area. We all absolutely loved it. We hired electric bikes and I agree with my teenagers when they said the bikes were easy and fun to ride. Christian our fab guide made sure everyone understood how to ride them, such a lovely guy, passionate about the area and made sure the tour was really interesting and fun. The clog and cheese workshop exceeded our expectations to, and you pass through some beautiful towns and a historic windmill! Go ahead book the tour you will not be disappointed!
This trip was great. Simon was a wonderful guide. He made sure everyone stayed together and he shared so many interesting facts. The scenery is breathtaking. One note - this was a more rigorous experience than I anticipated (4.5 hours and 37km covered with e bikes) , especially if you aren’t an avid bicyclist. All in all - highly recommend as a great way to see the beautiful Netherlands and get out of Amsterdam for a while.
Rafa was an excellent tour guide! Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our bike tour through Amsterdam. It was a great way to see as much of the beautiful city of Amsterdam in a short amount of time. We were in town from our cruise port in Rotterdam. The bike tour was a perfect way to get the most out of a few hours. Rafa’s knowledge of the history of the city was fantastic. We enjoyed hearing the stories and seeing the sights.
We had the best day with Mark. He took his time to orient us to the rules of the road and the electric bikes. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting the area. Thank you Mark!
Our bike tour was the highlight of our visit to Amsterdam. Our guide, Antonis, made the tour especially wonderful. He was patient and kind with our two young boys, and he gave them the confidence they needed to excel at biking in the city. They quickly felt comfortable biking with Antonis leading us. He ensured we were always safe, hydrated, and happy. The tour was a wonderful way to see parts of the city we wouldn't have otherwise seen, and also see some of the countryside.
Connie was a great local Dutch guide and very knowledgeable and interesting. I loved seeing and hearing stories about parts of the A’dam that I hadn’t seen before. A very good bike tour.
The bike tour was our favorite. We went with our group and ages ranged from 17-71 years old. Everyone did great with the e-bikes. Getting to see the countryside, cheese shop, wooden shoe shop was an absolute joy. Our guide (Richard, l think) was the best!
Sebastian was super! He made the experience feel safe even for folks new on ebikes. It was an awesome day, definitely a highlight of our time in Amsterdam.
This tour was FABULOUS! Our guide, Rinse, was great. He kept us safe and made fun. The view of the countryside was such a beautiful contrast to the busy city of Amsterdam. Highly recommend. We are in our sixties and in decent shape… the trip was very manageable for all ages without being boring.
Conny was fantastic! She was incredibly knowledgeable on everything in the city. We got to see so much in a short period of time. She was also very funny and easy to talk to and made sure to take a picture every time we stopped. Highly recommend touring with Conny!
Mark was an amazing guide for our family of five! Our kids are 8, 11, and 12, and everyone had a fantastic time. We were last-minute bookers, and Mark was incredibly accommodating from the start. As a retired professor and born local who’s lived abroad in fascinating cities , he knew every hidden corner and fascinating detail of the tour. We especially appreciated his pace, engaging conversation, and enthusiasm. He made the experience both educational and fun. We highly recommend Mark to anyone looking for an outstanding family-friendly tour of Amsterdam.
The bike tour from Amsterdam Central to the windmills out into the country ended up being one of the major highlights of our entire Europe trip! It was a last minute decision and we're so glad we did it. Taking the eBikes out to see the neighborhoods and parks of Amsterdam as well as a few stops was such a great way to see the country, especially only having a few days to spend there. There were 4 of us in our group, including two teens who described the tour as "magical"! Having time to spend in both Zaandam and Zaanse Schans was really nice, though it was very crowded. Being able to stop at our own "private" windmill and hear from the keeper who lived there was a definite highlight of the tour. Especially seeing the windmill sized just for the cat! Our tour guide Gina from Italy was a wonderful leader of the group. The scenery was lovely and it was a great way to feel like we really saw more of Amsterdam than just the busy city area. Thank you for a great experience!
We had a lovely time on our tour. We did the Country Side e-bike tour with guide Mark who was AMAZING! A highlight of our trip and an amazing way to see the beauty of the country. The shining star was getting up close and personal with a working Mill, and learning more about it from Marcel, the miller who lives there.
Mark was SO knowledgeable, interesting, and funny.
That was really quality time.
What a fabulous introduction to Amsterdam! My two young teen boys and I arrived in Amsterdam and our first stop was the Street Art & Hidden Gems urban adventure. The kids were originally less than keen for a cycling trip, but this changed very quickly with Huw’s sense of humour and his great balance of cycling, interesting facts and stories. Of course, the magnet fishing and graffiti art were the highlights for them - really amazing! Such a safe and fun trip with a small group that certainly did not feel like 3 hours. Thanks so much Huw and Igor for a great afternoon.
We were a high school group from the United States who booked this on our own. It was affordable and easy to book, and a highlight of the trip. Students came back excited to talk about everything they saw and experienced. It was just the right length and energy level (even for the parents we had on the trip). We had a unique view of Amsterdam, and felt like we had a greater appreciation of some of the things that are less common on most of these kinds of tours.
Anne was a fantastic guide - her love of her home city really shone through and we got a real insight into life as an Amsterdammer. We covered a lot of ground and got to see many more places than we ever would on our own. It was a unique experience which certainly enriched our stay in this vibrant city!!
It takes you off the beaten path and shows you an interesting parts of Amsterdam,Huw is it an amazing guy who has great knowledge
Was really fun had a good time seeing all the different buildings and canals will definitely be doing thi again when I come back
It was such a treat to see the hidden gems of Amsterdam. Our guide was very knowlegdable and quick to read the group. Loved it
