Very convenient place if you are looking for a place in Amsterdam Zuide (Amsterdam south) Very calm environment, really close to the Amsterdam south station around 300-400 meters. The staff is super friendly and nice. They have a good breakfast buffet as well. I enjoyed very much during the week I stayed at this hotel.

My breakfast experience at this hotel was disappointing, not because of the food itself, but because of the way the restaurant facilities and guest access are managed. During my current stay, a large part of the breakfast restaurant was kept closed to hotel guests, particularly the tables overlooking the canal and the outdoor terrace, which are among the nicest seating areas in the restaurant. The explanations given to me related to staff shortages and operational convenience, including making service, cleaning and preparation for lunch easier. As a result, guests are concentrated in the area closest to the buffet while large sections of the restaurant, including some of its best seating, remain unavailable. What makes this more concerning is that this is not an isolated or temporary situation. I also stayed at this hotel in June 2025, when these areas were similarly closed, and essentially the same operational reasons were given. More than a year later, I encountered the same situation again, which makes it difficult to view this simply as a temporary staffing issue. The inconsistency became particularly obvious when a Kuoni Tumlare tour group arrived. The same areas that had been unavailable to regular hotel guests were opened, part of the restaurant was reserved for the group, and the outdoor seating became usable. I have absolutely no objection to the hotel reserving a clearly defined area for a tour group that has booked it. That is perfectly reasonable. My concern is that facilities described to regular guests as unavailable because of staffing and operational difficulties suddenly became available and serviceable when a group required them. After breakfast, I took my coffee outside and sat at one of the outdoor tables. A supervisor approached me and told me I was not allowed to sit there because the area was private. I pointed out that the hotel sign stated: “This area is reserved for the Kuoni Tumlare India Group,” which appeared to refer to a designated reserved area. There was no clear indication that the entire outdoor terrace was private. When I asked to speak with a manager, the response was repeatedly, “I am the supervisor,” as though requesting to speak with management was somehow unreasonable. A manager was eventually called and I explained the issue. For me, this is not about one table or one cup of coffee. It is about the overall guest experience. The hotel has an attractive canal-side setting and an outdoor terrace. These are part of what makes the property appealing, but their value to a guest is greatly reduced if access is routinely restricted simply because closing parts of the restaurant makes staffing, cleaning and preparation easier. I completely understand that a hotel may experience temporary staffing shortages. However, when I encountered the same situation in June 2025 and again in July 2026, it becomes difficult to describe it as temporary. It appears to be an ongoing operating practice in which significant parts of the restaurant are kept closed to reduce the operational workload. What is operationally more convenient for the hotel should not result in a reduced experience for paying guests. I expected better from a Crowne Plaza, both in terms of access to the hotel's facilities and in the way a guest concern is handled when it is raised with staff
I had a good stay here. The room was clean though no too spaciuos. But there's an iron with ironing table, so I didn't have to order that. Very convenient location close to the train station. There's a couple of grocery stores nearby, as well as some restaurants. The area is quiet overall.
Brilliant place to stay, very well located for transport links. Hotel staff very helpful. Large and peaceful room. Shower was excellent. Bed and pillow was comfortable. Only minor niggle was faulty kettle on arrival, and not enough tea/coffee available in the room - although both these niggles were addressed and resolved straight away.
We stayed in the Family Suite for a weekend as a family of four (two adults and two daughters aged 14 and 12), and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The hotel’s location is fantastic - just a five‑minute walk to the metro, which made getting around incredibly easy. Travelling from the airport to the hotel was straightforward, and reaching all the major tourist attractions was even easier thanks to the great transport links. Inside, the hotel was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Our family suite was surprisingly spacious, with plenty of room for all of us to relax comfortably. We especially appreciated the Nespresso machine, the generous amount of charging sockets, and the well‑designed bathroom. Honestly, we couldn’t fault a single thing about the room. We only used the hotel restaurant for breakfast, but it was a highlight - fresh, high‑quality food with lots of variety. A perfect start to the day. Overall, we had a brilliant stay and would highly recommend this hotel to families or anyone looking for a clean, convenient, and comfortable base for exploring the city.
