Arrived all the roads near the property were closed with a massive city construction project. As i walked to the door i was approached on two separate occasions by homeless people asking me for something . I immediately told the owner i could not stay because of the construction and the homeless people. She refused to cancel the reservation and demanded 800 euros. Basically she has set up a trap, she doesn’t inform guests of the massive construction works then makes it impossible to leave the property when you arrive. I was scammed by this owner. In addition she asked me if i am buddist because i have olive colored skin , and called black people “colored”… I made another reservation on the spot, and left- write the entire experience off as getting scammed while traveling and went to a hotel. Then the next day, after i thought i was free, the owner still continued to text me arguing about why I left. I think the owner plans to retire and leave , so she had lost any common sense for continuing to run the business. I attached photos of the construction the city is doing so you can judge for yourself. Is not one street or one block- multiple streets, multiple blocks of heavy construction. Knowing this person she will respond to my posting here. That is to be expected as the host does bot know how to just listen. Do not believe the positive reviews of this location. Things have definitely changed. And if you are brown or tan or black… just dont bother going here. Old school racism, very offensive person, who is too incapable of realizing how offensive her comments are.

Home away from home, The Breitner House is a work of art, a gorgeous piece of history. Camilla goes out of her way to make sure you're happy with her delicious breakfasts, her kindness and entertaining storytelling. The room was spectacular, the garden a little oasis. I'd 100% recommend this venue.
We spend three magnificent days at the Breitner house. Camilla, our charming hostess, delivered unforgettable experience of beautiful designs, artwork and the most amazing breakfast you'll ever have. The house itself beautifully presented and rich in history, with large rooms that effortlessly combine luxury and cosiness. As for breakfast... The best I've ever had, anywhere! Camilla's doesn't serve food, she delivers a culinary voyage of discovery. A stay at Breitner House can be summed up in one word -breathtaking. I guarantee that it will exceed your expectations.
Exceeded my expectations, beautiful home with a nice view of the park. Regal furnishings, antique chandeliers and beautiful paintings adorn the rooms. We were warmly welcomed by Camilla, her meals and presentation were exquisite. We fully enjoyed our stay and learning the history of the Breitner House. We would happily stay here again !
We were treated like royalty at the Breitner House for our 3 day stay in Amsterdam. The house, built in the 1800's was like a museum of artwork and antiques all customized by the owners, Guido and Camilla. Our breakfast in the mornings, prepared by Guido, was presented as if we were dining in a palace, each item more delicious than the next. Every dish was made to look like a piece of art. Our exceptional hosts, Guido and Camilla were more generous and gracious than anyone you could possibly imagine! It was beyond amazing!! For an experience of a lifetime, book a stay at the Breitner House!
