Probably one of the best short stays we’ve enjoyed in a long time! This wonderful property is located with views over some of Amsterdams canals, and staffed with the most friendly & helpful staff! A truly winning combination! Well done & thank you for making our stay a memorable one!
Great rooms only negative would be curtains don’t touch the floor and the light floods the room bright and early. Canal view room is a bonus. Hotel has a lovely front entrance and overall decor is quite nice. Short walk to tram stop and lots of nice cafe’s, shops etc. Never felt unsafe, it does feel a little outside of the main tourist areas however.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Apollo Hotel. The value for money is excellent, and everything felt clean and well maintained. The décor is beautiful, with lots of plants that create a relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant was also very good, and I enjoyed the food. The views of the canal are awesome. My only suggestion would be to add a few heavier weights in the gym for guests who do strength training. Other than that, I had a great experience and would happily stay here again.
This is a very good hotel within an easy walk to the start of all the public transportation. There are many restaurants along the way. There was a small "Breakfast Club" that I went to, twice. I enjoyed the avocado toast with bacon. Aldi's supermarket is near, you can pick up your morning supplies, snack food for the day. The rooms were clean, modern, very comfortable. I really enjoyed the rooms. My only complaint is the lighting is dim and I had them bring in an extra table lamp. They need to work on the the lighting to be brighter and more welcoming. You can recognize a serious hotel when the front lobby is full of multiple receptionists and one or more very experienced concierge. You may recall that some hotels, there might be one person at the reception desk and sometimes there are none ... you have to ring a bell. I noticed that it's restaurant and bar area is very popular in the evenings. The concierge service helped me out of a difficult situation when I left my backpack on a city bus. They generously helped me recover it.
I enjoyed my stay here! I stayed here from 3/2 to 3/5. I arrived early in the morning, and the front desk agent was so friendly and helpful, and they let me check in early. I had a Canal view room, and it was so spacious. I ordered room service from their restaurant—the food was delicious, it arrived quickly, and the staff who delivered the food were friendly too. Location was also great -- it was easy to walk to places and close to public transportation. If I ever go back to Amsterdam, I will definitely stay here again!
