I had 4 days in Jordan n' with full-day tours of Petra and Jerash/Dead Sea already booked (see separate T/A reviews), wanted to see the Citadel, Roman Theatre in Amman but after hiking Petra, thought my ol'legs would give out, so booked this day tour of Citadel (Umayyad Palace), Roman Theatre a few other sights n' "local" lunch. My guide (Hassan Alqurnih) was excellent; a truly local man, most knowledgeable of local history n' culture and quite flexible with my options. After an extensive Citadel tour, did Rainbow St by car and the "Embassy" area, then Hassan look me to his own personal eating spot (.......I asked for it). Perfect tour, guide and options. Fantastic !!

Itinerary
Begin your private tour with a morning pick up from your central Amman hotel. Meet your informative private driver who doubles as your guide, and start out on your explorations of the Jordanian capital’s highlights. As you travel, hear about the history of this fascinating city, whose past stretches back to 3500 B.C. or before. Hear about the city’s days under the Roman Empire, and how it was occupied by the Nabataeans and Byzantines.
View one of Amman’s star attractions, the King Abdullah Mosque, famous for its blue mosaic dome, the nearby Parliament Building and Orthodox Church.
Next, make your way to Amman Citadel, the hilltop collection of antiquities that looms over the city with a private local guide. Explore the timeworn Roman, Byzantine and early Islamic relics, and pay a visit to the Citadel’s Temple of Hercules and the Archaeological Museum to inspect its collections of ancient artifacts discovered at sites from across Jordan.
Then, continue to the Roman Amphitheater with its Hashemite Plaza, a magnificent hillside structure believed to have been built in the 2nd century. Admire the symmetry and scale of the theater as your guide explains how it was built as part of the Roman city of Philadelphia, and could accommodate up to 6,000 spectators. Continue to visit the Museum of Popular Traditions to see the exhibition of traditional dress and jewelry. Pass the “Raghadan Palace”, the burial place of the late King Hussein, and ride around the downtown area for free time at its vibrant markets, traditional mosques like the Grand Husseini Mosque, and churches.
Then, stroll along Rainbow Street, Amman’s colorful arts and shopping hotspot, passing the Jordan River Foundation and residence of King Talal. Delve into the upscale neighborhoods of “Abdoun” and “Swefieh”, where luxury shopping malls and swanky private villas line the streets. Your 4-hour tour ends back at your hotel. Alternatively, ask for a drop off at one of the malls on your tour like Galleria or Taj Mall or at Abdali Boulevard, a stylish new enclave of designer shops regarded as Amman’s up-and-coming downtown area.
Option Tour with Jordan Museum and Royal Automobile Museum: After your classic city tour include the visit of the Jordan Museum marking Jordan’s history. Then proceed to visit the vintage, Hashemite Royalty private collection cars at the Royal Automobile Museum, located in the leafy gardens of King Hussein Park, home of the Late King Hussein beautiful grand elegant Mosque. The museum showcases a rare collection of Jordan's vehicles ranging from King Hussein bin Ali's cars that came to Amman in 1916 to modern sports cars. Please note that Tuesdays both museums are closed. •If you are interested in taking a drive in one of the Royal Automobile classic vehicles, please consult us.
Option Tour with Arabic Lunch: Upgrade to a 6-hour tour and after your city tour, savor a mouth-watering lunch of “Arabic Mezze”, (small cold and hot dishes) at a local restaurant. Enjoy an assortment of small plates, such as barbecued chicken and beef, hummus, salads and bread; after your meal, relax with a hotel or shopping mall drop off - your choice!

Tour company was responsive when I updated them of my hotel location. The driver was on time and speaks English pretty well. The visit to Jerash and Citadel was like a step back to history.
My guide Mahmoud was superb. I like to learn about the society of the country I am visiting as well as see the sights and in this respect Mahmoud was brilliant, providing me with wonderful insights about the people of this great country. I do not drink so Mahmoud offered to replace the wine tasting with a Turkish Hammam experience which is really something. Don’t go for the “hard” massage unless you’re prepared to be seriously pummeled. The dinner at a local, non tourist restaurant was first class. Really great traditional Arab food. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and Mahmoud’s company and cannot recommend this experience more highly.
I had an absolutely lovely evening with Basel of Zaid yours seeing panoramic views of Amman in the evening followed by Iftar with at Hashem in downtown Amman. I got the see the sights including the Citadel and the Blue Mosque with the burkah and the Amphi theater while seeing Amman from up high The Iftar was most especially the best part of the tour and a memory I will treasure Basel personally broke bread with me with three types of hummus and the Majool dates and Kunafi at the end as the sweet
We combined the panoramic tour with the day tour of Amman. They were both spectacular. Our guide was absolutely amazing. The lunch we enjoyed was outstanding.
We actually were provided the flexibility to adjust our tour when we arrived and added visits to Maraba, Mt. Nebo and a float in the Dead Sea to our itinerary for a reasonable additional cost. Btw- we asked for airport pickup (instead of Hotel pickup) which was also provided for a reasonable additional cost. This saved much time and made our visit much more productive. Hassan was our guide and took great care of us all day and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
This is a wonderful way to get oriented in Amman. We enjoyed the food and I regret not going back to Habibah for more Kunafa multiple times during our week in Jordan. Since it is a private tour, we were able to allow more time at the Citadel and for shopping. The views and sites at the Citadel are spectacular and our driver, Amer, was able to find a knowledgeable onsite guide to provide in-depth history of the Citadel and Jordan. We started our tour early and had the stunning Mosque all to ourselves. I also enjoyed the high quality merchandise in the Mosque gift shop. Our guide, Amer, helpfully tried to advise me on negotiating on Rainbow Street as he seemed to think I could get lower prices. I am glad we took a private tour to see the city as it is larger than we expected and this helped us see more.
I only had one day to see Amman during a business trip. This tour was perfect! Khalid (driver and guide) was great and very knowledgeable. I also really appreciated my guide at the citadel (Ibrahim). Note lunch was not mezze but that was fine since I preferred to spend more time at the sites. 10/10 would recommend.
I had such a lovely time on my tour. My tour guide Basel was incredible! We went all around Amman and then had a hammam and lunch. Most perfect day ever 😍
Firas was great! He was more than punctual, he was at the hotel to pick us up early. The then took us to the Citadel. Having a guide provide historical background was a vital piece. The Roman theater, the beautiful mosque, and going to the shops downtown are all a nice part of an introduction to Jordan. For me however, the best part was last, THE FOOD! I surely was not expecting a five course meal for lunch. Spectacular!
Amer was fantastic and showed me around Amman while explaining its rich history. The lunch was fantastic as well. You cannot go wrong with this tour!
Our city tour of Amman was one of a kind. Mahmoud was a great driver and guide. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time. He took us to see some amazing sites and I felt so comfortable walking around the city like a local. We visited the spice market, the citadel, Roman Theater, Rainbow Street plus more. The highlight of the trip was the restaurant where we had lunch. The food and customer service was amazing at Tawaheen Al Hawa Restaurant. We tried the traditional dish Mensaf and drank a refreshing lemon mint drink. The hummus is the best I’ve ever had. This was a great day. I love Jordan and will be sure to return. Thank you 😊
Was a great day! Driver was on time and was a kind person with a good sense of humor. Saw all the major sights and had a delicious meal! Highly recommend!
My driver Basil was extremely nice and kind to me. I had a great day between visiting the city and having a great turkish bath (best ever!) + my lunch was much above my expectations:simply delicious. I really recommend it!
This is an amazing tour. Our guide was extraordinary and helped us , I fully recommend to take this tour .
We (6) friends had booked this trip from NZ so you aren’t sure how things will go. Our driver Firas arrived early, was very friendly and shared lots of laughs with us. We really enjoyed the Citadel tour, theatre and blue mosque. Top marks to Firas for our Sunday trip, and also monday
Just did this tour, this morning. Great! Excellent driver (Mahmoud) and guide (also called Mahmoud!) at the Citadel. Both very welcoming, knowledgeable and spoke good English. Couldn’t have been more accommodating. Water provided during journey and vehicle was extremely comfortable. Times allowed at each site were just right. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
Had a fabulous day travelling around Amman. Citadel and Amphitheater were amazing and so was the local food. Fabulous driver with great sense of humour

The driver was a sub and didn't know what time museums opened. He spoke little English which hampered learning about your city. The one bright spot was The Citadel that an English speaking guide. We enjoyed speaking with him.

What a great way to see many of the city's landmarks in just half a day! Excellent lunch location for some authentic Arabic food too.

The driver was very friendly and I can't say enough about the dinner which was amazing! The only disappointment was the cost. If the dinner wasn't as good as it was I wouldn't reccomend this tour. Cab rides are cheap (3JD to the citadel) it was just too expensive.

Highly recommend! A little more training on the crew, on some info.
Amazing intro to key places of interest.

Our driver was on time and picked us up from the hotel to take us around the city. He was immensely friendly and knowledgeable. We went to the Citadel at sunset, then headed to view the Roman Amphitheatre from a high point in the city.
We were then taken for a trip through Downtown Amman before heading to a restaurant for dinner. The reason this tour misses a star is because the restaurant's service was a bit of a let-down and the staff were not that friendly or welcoming.

Loved, loved, loved, the lunch. Driver pleasant, and helpful.

Interesting tour. My wife and I are pretty spontaneous and this seemed like a unique twist on a basic tour. We were picked up on time from our hotel and driven via private car around Amman. We found out that our guide was actually not a tour guide, but rather the brother of the owner of the car and simply doing him a favor by driving us around the city. It felt more like a friend showing us around his city. Not much structure or history provided but this was fine with us. The dinner was absolutely fantastic. I advise you to skip lunch because there is a ton of amazing food. We also asked to start the tour at 5pm instead of 6pm because we wanted to see some of the sights during daylight. The Citadel was closing when we arrived but we were able to talk our way in for some beautiful pictures. Most of the remainder of the tour was driving around the upscale areas of Amman. I do not recall seeing the Radhadan palace but I may have forgotten. If you are interested in a laid back "tour" of the city with some great food, this would be good for you.

Amman is BEAUTIFUL, and the lunch was good. I was surprised to have to pay for water at lunch. As for the tour, I had no guide. I could have paid a taxi to take me to the Citadel. That's all I saw. I was a little offended by the gift shop. The driver was clearly getting a cut.
