Jordan Tour: Private Driver - Luxurious Car

Ali was an amazing driver through Jordan for 6 days! As 2 sisters traveling, with Ali’s masterful guidance, we felt completely comfortable traveling through the country. We explored around Amman, then down the Dead Sea coast, into Petra and Wadi Rum, and ended in Aqaba. He recommended the sites we should see, the right time in the day for each site, and suggested the appropriate amount of time to truly explore them. We never felt rushed and fit in multiple events each day. Ali was always punctual and the epitome of graciousness. The route and stops that were a perfect introduction to this beautiful country.

Ali was a fantastic driver, who is very familiar with all the journeys any tourist would realistically need. Not only this, but he is very knowledgeable when it comes to restaurant recommendations, and is able to tell you roughly how much time you need to spend at each site. He always encourages you to take your time at each destination, and is very well organised in terms of punctuality, coordinating pickup locations and cleanliness of the car. Ali is a gentleman and is one of Jordan’s treasures—I’d recommend to anybody visiting the country.

Honestly, one of the bougiest and most luxurious rides of my life! 😂 I was picked up from Edom Hotel in Petra in the morning and greeted by Ali himself, who was professional, welcoming and friendly throughout the entire journey. My trip took me from Petra to the Dead Sea, Mount Nebo, Madaba and finally back to Amman. I really wanted to stop at the Dead Sea for a swim, and Ali knew a great luxury resort where I could properly experience it. Thanks to his connections, I paid only 22 JOD for access to the Dead Sea, lunch and a towel! After that, we headed to Mount Nebo, which had some of the best views of the valley. Madaba was a great experience too, and Ali made sure we arrived in time to visit the famous church with its beautiful mosaics before it closed. From there, we headed straight back to Amman. The entire journey was incredibly comfortable, and I think the price was excellent for the service provided. I paid 150 JOD for the whole trip, which was absolutely worth it. I would definitely recommend Ali to anyone interested in visiting and exploring Jordan. A fantastic experience from start to finish!

As we prepare to leave Jordan tomorrow morning after 5 wonderful days, I am not exaggerating when I write that meeting Mr. Ali and experiencing his incredible hospitality is one of the high points of this trip. I had an outstanding experience with Ali. He was consistently timely, easy to reach, and professional, starting from our first contact via WhatsApp. After I arrived in Jordan, he gave me great suggestions for ways to improve my trip, such as doing the “back door” hike into Petra, and coordinated my arrival with the Bedouin camp where I stayed in Wadi Rum. The car was very comfortable and it was great to have WiFi on the road. I also thought the price for my itinerary (5 full days and an airport transfer on the morning of the 6th day) was fair. My wife and I hired Ali for 8 days during our visit to Jordan. Following the glorious reviews, we had seen on Trip Advisor, my wife and I decided to employ his driving services. The first problem we had With Ali. (He is just a tour driver, an individual person, not a travel agent company). In Jordan, This is against the law and considered a felony While we were Exiting from the airport toward our hotel for sleeping after a very long trip. Our car was pulled over for normal police checkpoints. This is a typical tourism police routine in Jordan, they are allowed to operate anywhere around Jordan to orchestrate a random checkpoints in order to keep tourism business in the country under the radar. The police officer requested our driver Ali show his company official paperwork / company documentation. Unfortunately, our driver Ali failed to present these official documents. "In a brief few moments" The conversation between the police officer and our driver Ali escalated into an argument, shouting. Inappropriately from our driver Ali. Eventually after this losing battle, the police officer wrote a fine ticket for the driver Ali and a summons to appear to the court. (According to the Police officer of the tourist police who spoke with us), The tour driver cannot be , not allowed to work to drive tourist without obtaining a license (a travel agent company) unfortunately, it became clear to us at the time that we are dealing with a person individually and not a tourist company. In Jordan, doing this activities is illegal, anyone who escorts tourists without a tourist license allows you to work in this field it is a felony. The Jordanian law criminalizes the driver who commits this act with imprisonment and a fine. Ali was very angry and upset, no matter how much he tried to control himself, unfortunately, he failed, and became an inappropriate person. My wife and I decided to skip this incident, forget what happened despite our fear that we are dealing with an individual person and not a company. We thought maybe if we give him a chance, tomorrow he will present a better personality as we expected and read about him. On the morning of the second day, we visited the city of Jerash and Ajloun Castle, and things with Ali were somewhat little of encouraging and more refreshing, despite some unwanted arguments, but It was a very acceptable daytrip. On the afternoon of the third day and during our way to visit Karak Castle specifically after our visit to the city of Madaba. My wife and I were trying to take a refreshing nap before visiting Karak Castle. Suddenly, Ali received a phone call and a new battle began (funny), he started shouting loudly, and I think he was swearing at that time. At this point, I felt he might lose control because of his high-level anger, so I asked him to pull over on the side of the road and resolve the issue with the other party over the phone before continuing. We tried to understand or know what happened we couldn’t, he refused to share but it was clear that it was something that hit a serious nerve angered him very very much. After we arrived in Petra, thank God safely. Ali came to the hotel and rudely apologized that he couldn't stay with us until the end of the program. It was really a very rude apology after all these foolish acts; honestly, we were happy with this decision. We had paid Mr. Ali the amount of $550. The remainders were supposed to be paid upon arrival to Petra because there was no ATM available. I am glad we haven’t paid full amount. Uselessly, we tried to get a partial refund for the amount we paid. I decided to avoid this matter, even though I believe that it is our right, but I let go of it The manager of the hotel we stayed in Petra (a very wonderful person) pledged to provide a professional driver hired via a professional tour company, indeed, he fulfilled his promise. The pleasure and comfort of our trip just began to appear from the first moments we met our new driver and the car that was arranged for our trip. Mohammed our great driver, a polite person, professional speaker, an expert driver in about Jordan attractions history My wife and I usually don't write any reviews. However, this time I think (our bad choice experience) happened to us because we were deceived by the too many positive reviews. Therefore, we decided to write a long report (about our bad experience) explains completely our disappointment so that others can read from our experience.

Ali was an amazing driver. He helped us get sorted with hotels prior to us arriving in Jordan. He then took us to all the sites. You can tell he is very proud of his country! He helped set up tour guides and a photographer for our annual family photos! Safe driver, took great care in driving as our daughter is prone to car sickness.

ALi is very professional guide and driver. After visiting the Jerah site and the Amman Citadel, in one day , we decided to continue for 1 more days for a very reasonable price.-his advice convinced us to visit the city of Madaba and its magnificent mosaics via the Dead Sea south of Amman.-Ali Salameen is very safe. He is punctual, discreet and benevolent. He is an excellent driver and is very secure- we appreciated the different places other than the sites that he made us discover (restaurants, unique panorama ...) his car is top and very confortable-(wifi, water, charger are free - which is a plus)-We do not regret our choice to have found Ali for our first trip to Jordan.

I have just returned from Jordan after an 8 day stay. i had contacted Ali Salameen to be able to navigate safely in the country. He immediately put me at ease. I got more than I thought. Ali knows his culture and country very well. He is very interesting, because he enriches your trip with his advice and his knowledge of history. His car is comfortable and safe. He is attentive and above all punctual for hotel or airport departures. His prices are more than fair considering the time he spends with you. He does not hesitate to help you discover things that are different from traditional sites. He has free wifi in his car. Ali is simply an excellent guide, who will accompany you safely in this beautiful country of Jordan.

Not sure where all the good reviews came from but Ali who was our driver tried to scam us by saying that we needed to pay an extra $150 usd after dropping us off at our hotel. He kept saying we previously agreed to this via email communications which is not true. We told him we booked and paid through Viator already because it’s advertised as private driver for up to 10 hours. All we did was have him drive us from Amman to Petra and back. He also couldn’t retrieve the “so called” email agreement of us agreeing to pay the additional $150 in person. Total scam! Avoid at all costs!

Ali has provided the most professional service that one could ask for. Ali is polite and full of good local knowledge. He is also very reliable when it comes to picking you up and taking you places. The car he has is very luxurious and has plenty of space which is invaluable during long drives.

The best part of our trip was booking Ali! Visiting Jordan for the first time was so exciting but also a little scary as we brought our 3 young children together for the first time as a family of 5. Ali made us feel so safe and our kids loved him too. We visited the Citadel and malls, restaurants as well as the religious sites which were further out and at times the kids would make a little fuss, at no point did Ali find it difficult, he never even showed an ounce of impatience. He was so good with us and our children. He offered to take us to so many places but with the children being so little we will be keeping these on hold until another time. Ali is safe and knowledgeable. He is a family man and a protective proud father. He was always on time. He was our favourite driver so make sure you book him fast as he is very popular! First of all, I must say Ali is a very safe driver. That means a lot to me. His vehicle is spacious and comfortable. We were in Jordan for six days. Ali took us around Jordan as planned. We had some open slots and Ali suggested some sites and that worked very well. All went very well

Ali organised our tour we wanted to see the religious sites as well as the unesco sites. We explored the whole of jordan in 12 days and had a great time, this would not have been possible without Ali’s help and we are truly grateful for his services.

Ali made the tour of Jordan easy, relaxing and enjoyable. Ali cared for us like family. He was always on time, safe and very helpful. Booking Ali for the entire time you’re in Jordan is a great idea because he will personally show you around the country, drive you to the attractions, best restaurants and fresh juice spots. He will effectively stay with you from morning till the evening. There is no need to arrange excursions to Petra, wadi rum, jerusalem etc because Ali handled all of this from making a few calls to his friends and family who directly work and manage these excursions. We have found Ali is a reliable , honest driver& guide. His price is also very affordable. Most importantly, he can speak very good English what is very rare in Jordan. Moreover, his car was very comfortable and it’s make some difference in that hot weather. He also very knowledgeable in history and local transportation.

Having travelled the world and done tours in all sorts of countries, I can safely say no tour guide comes close to the warmth, professionalism and dedication than Ali. My wife and I spent a week with Ali where he picked us up from the airport, took us to Amman, then took us to Petra and Wadi Rum, to then bring us back to Amman and show us the sites in Amman, to then take us to Madaba and Kerak, to then take us to the Dead Sea followed by a final tour of the north country Jesrah and the final airport drop off. Throughout this week we found Ali to be forever punctual, his car always super clean and him having all the amenities one would need for the many journeys including an endless supply of ice cold water, hand sanitisers and reliable WiFi. His car is a real luxury vehicle and can easily fit 6 people in comfort. We were also keen on seeing Jerusalem so Ali arranged a tour of Jerusalem for us with an Israeli contact with this contact giving us a great one-day tour of all the key sites across the border. Ali was also able to show us things during our travels and introduce us to the best local restaurants that we definitely wouldn’t have found on our own. He was forever respectful of our needs and wishes and it was honestly pleasure to get to know him and to leave him as a friend by the time our trip ended. If you are considering coming to Jordan, do not think twice about booking your tour transportation with Ali as your trip will be a hundred times better having him as your tour guide and driver. Jordan is a lovely country and Ali and his company make it all the better.

Ali is amazing! I came to Jordan on a solo trip. He picked me up from the airport and took me to my hotel. Then after that everyday was planned out. He created the entire itinerary for my trip. As I had no idea what to do, or what to see. I am thankful he was able to plan everything out for me. It’s been a wonderful experience. I am thankful to have chosen him to show me around. As a solo female traveler he made me feel comfortable and welcomed. He is very laid back and easy going, on time and communicates well. Mr Ali is truly an amazing person, and we are lucky to have had our Jordan tour with him, even if only for one day. He is a very calm, patient, organized, clean, punctual and friendly person. My parents (65+) and I spent 6 days with Ali in late Sept. 2022. Ali designed our itinerary and we had a wonderful time visiting Jordan. We are fortunate to have Ali as our driver: speaks great English, professional, experienced & always on-time, kept the car clean and prepared icy bottled water & sanitizer each day, and a SAFE DRIVER. We asked Ali many curiosity questions and he patiently answered all. In Petra, Ali arranged a special tour for us where we were picked up at the hotel via taxi, then transferred to an "off-road" jeep that took us to the "backdoor" hike to the Monastery, accompanied by a local knowledgeable guide. We highly recommend this tour due to several advantages: 1) you will arrive at the Monastery early (~7-8am) before the crowds and can take very nice photos; 2) from Monastery you will be walking downhill/descending to the main Petra trail, thus avoiding hundreds of uphill steps (note: the backdoor hike to Monastery does involve uphill climb/stairs/steps but from what we recall, less intense than climbing uphill to Monastery from the main Petra trail); 3) you have plenty of time remaining to visit the rest of Petra ruins and will be walking ONE WAY back to the main entrance, saving lots of time & energy (as opposed to starting the day from the Petra entrance-Treasury-Monastery-Treasury-entrance walking both ways). Prior to airport drop-off Ali took us to an excellent Arabic pastry/sweets shop. If you like sweets you will love this place, everything is fresh and the prices are much lower compared to similar shops at the airport (airside). Highly recommend Ali for his excellent services, you will have a wonderful experience with Ali just like us!
