We spent a full day exploring the northern part of Jordan, visiting Jerash, Ajloun and Umm Qais, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. Each destination had its own charm. Jerash amazed us with its impressive Roman architecture and ancient streets. Ajloun Castle was fascinating, especially learning about its historical importance. Umm Qais was the perfect place to end the day, with incredible views and a completely different atmosphere. The scenery from there was absolutely beautiful! Our driver, Falah, was excellent throughout the day. He was very polite, reliable and welcoming, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We appreciated his flexibility and the relaxed atmosphere he created during the journey. What we loved most was getting to experience a different side of Jordan, away from the busy city, and discovering places we might otherwise have missed. It was a day full of history, beautiful scenery and wonderful hospitality. We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Jordan. Many thanks to Falah for making our day so enjoyable

Itinerary
Umm Qais or Qays is a town in northern Jordan principally known for its proximity to the ruins of the ancient Gadara. It is the largest city in the Bani Kinanah Department and Irbid Governorate in the extreme northwest of the country, near Jordan's borders with Israel and Syria.
Visiting the town of Ajlun with its fortress; one of the best preserved examples of medieval Arab military architecture in the entire Middle East, which was once governed by Saladin. Enjoy the magnificent view into the Jordan Valley. Proceed to visit the Greco-Roman City of Jerash, also known as the City of the thousand columns. Jerash showcases the grandeur of Imperial Rome (and is sometimes referred to as the Pompeii of the East). It is considered one of the largest, and most well preserved sites of Roman architecture in the World outside Italy. As the most pristine Decapolis City (meaning ten cities in Greek) in the modern world, Jerash’s prosperity can be admired in the colonnaded main street and lovely Oval Piazza. Return to Amman. History: In 1596, during the Ottoman Empire, Ajloun was noted in the census as being located in the nahiya of Ajloun in the liwa of Ajloun. It had a population of 313 Muslim households, and 20 Muslim bachelors, in addition to 20 Christian households.
Jerash is a Jordanian city, the capital and largest city of Jerash province. It is home to approximately 50,745 of the province's 237,000 inhabitants. Located in the north-western part of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Gersh rises about 600 metres from the Sea, about 48 km from Amman, Jordan.
