From Amman: Private /Group Full Day Tour To Petra

The driver was great .. prompt and a clean car ... once you get there you have too many people chasing you around to do this or that and pay them money! Just be prepared to say no thank you, a lot!

So good! I was so happy with this experience - recommended by a close friend in Australia, Viator provided great options and I chose the group transport to Petra Visitor Centre. Very good price and I understand it is very competitive due to lack of tourism currently. Geopolitics make us better travellers! Our driver was amazing, so punctual and amicable. I got joined up with a Japanese gentleman and we enjoyed the trip in silence - wonderful. Sometimes you need to contemplate the landscape only. Our driver provided information regarding many aspects of the experience, very helpful. Highly recommended!!

Mahmoud was GREAT. Friendly, attentive, and warm. The tour started sharp on time, car was clean, and gave us plenty of time in Petra. Started 0730 and was back in Amman by 1700. I recommend everyone to do this tour with Mahmoud.

We had a great day touring Petra in Feb2026. We booked through Trip Advisor. I think it's the one titled Full Day Trip to Petra. We purchased the package which included the Petra tickets and saved some time upon arrival. Our driver Khalil was very nice with a nice car and helped us secure a great guide upon arrival. The guide's name is Wasfi and we highly recommend him. His cost was about $70USD. His excellent knowledge and explanation of what we saw enhanced our trip and understanding of the depth and history of Petra and its surroundings. We skipped the Monastery due to lack of time and it seemed to us that to fully do it all, you need to spend two days there. We did see a nice IHG hotel at Petra so if we go back that could be an option. The drive from Amman is about 3 hours and seemed to take forever so bring something to do in the car. There is not much to see along the drive but the vast desert is quite something to behold.

Great day trip to Petra. Faisal was a great driver for the trip, arrived early and picked me up on time at Petra.

We booked a trip from Anmman to Petra. The driver kept in contact with by text so he picked us up from the hotel. Petra is a three hour drive we had a comfort stop half way. On arrival at Petra our driver allowed us as much time as we needed and just to text him when we wanted to be picked up. This enhanced the trip as we were not clock watching all day as you can never be sure how long it takes walking back up the hill The journey back was very similar to that going. Also I had accidentally left a cable in the car and it was returned to the hotel without any fuss. Our driver was Mahmoud and was excellent

Anees drove us to Petra from Amman for the day. He is a very good driver and the car was comfortable. But most of all, he is a wonderful human being and we loved talking to him about his country. Highly recommend if you need a driver.

Ibrahim, was an excellent driver and tour guide. Whilst the trip was long he provided excellent advice on how to maximise my 4 hours at Petra. Would highly recommend.

I had Faisal Abu Rashed as my driver to and from Petra. Faisal told me about the history of Petra and the surrounding area and offered tips for places to visit, advice for hiking through Petra smoothly, and where I should go the next time I visit Jordan. Faisal helped me get a guide at the Visitor's Center and truly made the experience as smooth as possible. Petra doesn't have as many visitors in January so it's a great time to visit if you want few crowds and plenty of room to take photos of the site.

Our driver Saada was great. The drive to and from Petra was uneventful. His pick for a meal on the return hit the spot/

It was a very enjoyable experience. Our driver was Faisal whom in the way to Petra explained to us about Jordan’s history, its current situation, about its economy, and Petra’s history as well. His English is very good and I was able to translate it everything to my family in Spanish. I recommend this experiencia 100%.

I went to Petra from Amman with Ziyah, the experience was perfect, he picked me up on time, told me about Jordan culture during the 3 hours trip, gave some tips for my walk in Petra and on our way back offered me some additional views of the mountains, I definatelly recommend Ziyah for tours in Jordan

My Driver Faisal was on time and very helpful. Knew exactly where he was going. Told me what to except while visiting Petra. The site was excellent. Enjoyed my time.

We requested a stop mid way to stretch which he gladly did at a place which had clean facilities, snacks and lots of trinkets. He dropped us off and met us at the front at the end of our day. He offered but didn’t push for a local guide. We booked the drive only. Highly recommend!

This was an awesome way to check out Petra and Southern Jordan from Amman. My driver Muhammed J was an excellent driver. On the way to and from he’d point out other sites along the way that we could swing by quickly to see. He was very flexible and full of useful information. Muhammad would drop me off and when I was ready I’d send him a message and he would come and pick me up. It’s not only Petra or Wadi Rum, other small sites along the way are options you can determine how long or short you’d like to be there. Just keep in mind that you have to be back in Amman by a certain hour. Why wait along with a tour group when you can set your own pace and have a pro get you to and from places.

A perfect day from start to finish! Our guide and driver made the long drive enjoyable with stories about Jordan’s history. Petra was breathtaking — every turn revealed something new and beautiful. The organization was excellent, and I truly felt relaxed and secure the entire trip.

Petra is simply spectacular, and is completely worth the drive from Amman. My driver Mohammed was a gentleman and is a very experienced driver. The drive from Amman is 3 hours however the pleasant conversations with Mohammed made the time pass quickly. I highly recommend this trip.

The full-day tour from Amman to Petra was absolutely incredible. Everything was perfectly organized, and our driver was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the history of the site. Walking through Petra’s ancient streets and seeing the Treasury up close was breathtaking. I always felt safe, and Jordan’s hospitality made the experience even more memorable!

Amazing day trip that has been on my bucket list for years. My driver Tariq gave some great suggestions that saved time and allowed me to enjoy Petra even more fully. Note: free shuttle back to the visitor’s center took much longer than expected. It would’ve been faster to walk back through the main path instead of waiting for the shuttle to fill up and take mandatory 15-20 minute breaks for shopping.

I had the pleasure of taking this trip today. Mr. Hassan Al-khateb was very professional and wonderful. He was amazing. He showed up promptly at my hotel early in the morning and he made me feel at home. As a tour guide with over 18 years experience, he is nothing but a walking encyclopedia. He explained in detail all that I need to know from the beginning of the trip to the end. Petra was amazing. It is no doubt that it is listed as one of the seven wonders of the modern world. I recommend Petra for everyone and also to select a wonderful tour guide called Mr. Hassan Al-Khateb.

I went to Petra with my driver Faisal! Petra, off course was an amazing experience but I also enjoyed speaking with Faisal to and from, it’s a 3 hour drive one way, and I think we got to know each other a lot! Petra itself is a must see, it was a tough experience going all the way up to the monastery though. Not for the weak! I gave up and ended up riding the mule there and back haha even riding the mule was a workout. I really enjoyed the experience and the people i met throughout my time in Jordan. I will let everyone know when I go back to my country 🇯🇵

Petra deserves all the praise it gets — absolutely breathtaking. This tour made it easy to enjoy without any hassle. Pickup was on time, the vehicle was clean and air-conditioned, and our driver, Firas, made the long drive enjoyable with great conversation and local tips. We had the best experience with our driver Mahmoud (aka Fox)! The car was spotless and very comfortable, and he arrived right on time. Throughout the trip, he gave us so much helpful information about the journey and how long each part would take. He even made thoughtful stops halfway through so we could stretch, shop, and grab snacks, which made everything feel easy and enjoyable. The whole day was calm, pleasant, and fun, we felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time. On top of that, we learned so much from him during the trip.
