Amman: Private Or Group Tour To Jerash, Ajloun & Um Qais

We were promptly picked up by our driver, Mr Mohammed at 8am, to go to both Aljoun Castle and the Archaeological Site of Jerash. We had hot tea at the start of the 1.5 hour ride, compliments from Mr Mohammed. He made a brief viewpoint stop at Firas Al Aljouni Plane (F-104), where we could also see the Aljoun Castle in the distant. We took our time walking at both sites, completed at 3pm and we were driven back to Amman by 4.30pm.

I had an excellent day tour from Amman visiting Jerash, Umm Qays, and Ajloun Castle. The itinerary was well organized, and the sights were impressive—especially the Roman ruins of Jerash and the views from Umm Qays. Our driver, Hassan Al‑Khatib, was very kind, helpful, and professional. The car was clean, comfortable, and made the long drives enjoyable.

I enjoyed this trip. It was a long day but we saw 3 amazing sights in the north of Jordan which normally might be intimidating to reach without a local driver. Particularly the viewpoint of Israel, Syria (Golan) and Lebanon mountains from Umm Qais felt moving, and we were about the only tourists there at that time. Aljoun Castle had beautiful views, and Jerash was impressively large and well-preserved Roman ruins. Do note this booking is only including the transportation itself and not actually a guided tour of the sites, but I didn't feel the need to pay for a guide at any of the sites. The lunch stop (not included in the price) of mansaf at a local restaurant was tasty. I’m glad I chose the group tour, as my group were all solo travelers and everyone was fun and chatty! Our driver Mahmoud Alkhawaja was great too.

I had an excellent day on this tour. Our driver, Emad, was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful—he shared insights about Jordanian food, culture, and politics. Since I needed to catch a JETT bus to Aqaba after the tour, he checked the schedules, helped book my ticket, and even drove me to the bus station. Um Qais, Ajloun, and Jerash were all captivating; Jerash in particular impressed me with the scale and superb preservation of its ruins. This well-organized tour efficiently covers the main highlights of northern Jordan—highly recommended.

All visited places are extremely interesting and the tour is well catered to fit enough time in each and, with group's accordance, small adjustments can be done to accommodate more or less time in each site. Pick-up service is so off the charts and driver was incredibly friendly and acknowledged on the sites and more, Ibrahem Althodan, went above and beyond to make sure all was in place for us to enjoy it.

We did a 5-hour Jerash-only tour, and Emad picked us up from our apartment. Everything was very well coordinated from the pickup to the drop-off. Emad was really kind and professional, and it was easy to communicate with him. During the tour, he guided us to interesting places that we hadn’t noticed or seen from outside the car ourselves. He kept us constantly engaged throughout the whole tour, and it was definitely a memorable experience. The car was really clean and had a water bottle for us. Highly recommended tour!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable day with Khalil. He looked after us from start to finish ensuring we got to all the planned visits and giving us as much time as we needed. Departing from Amman, our first stop was to Umm Qais (stopping for a nice cardamom coffee en route), a Roman ruin in the picturesque hills with fabulous views. Following our visit to Ajloun, again with fabulous views from the 12th century castle, Khalil took us to a nice restaurant for lunch before finishing our day at the larger Roman site of Jerash. A nice friendly driver who I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

We had a wonderful day with Alamal Tours. Our driver, Omar, was professional, good-humored, considerate, and a great driver. We were able to spend as long as we desired at each stop. In retrospect, it might be better to see Jerash first rather than last as the site closes by 5 PM in the winter. Highly recommended!

Using our Jordan pass to get into every location. We had the best driver we have had all trip, got us to every location swiftly and safely. Was knowledgeable on each location with some great tips to help us. We got treated to a local cuisine in Jerash by our driver which was 10/10! Khalil was the best guide ever! So informative and amazing company - super friendly and made us feel very safe and welcome. He was very kind and respectful of the areas we went to, and we were not rushed at any sites, we were given time to explore as much as we wanted. We would happily do another tour with this company because of Khalil. The tour was low season so it was wonderful and quiet, the weather was perfect as it wasn’t too hot and we got to explore for many hours. The sights were amazing and so well preserved. We saw so much history it was incredible. Khalil stopped off and bought us a delicious breakfast and stopped in the afternoon and kindly brought us some drinks! We had such a wonderful experience it was 100% worth every penny a real bargain.
