Amman Petra Full-day Trip

It’s already we had the most amazing driver/guide for our full day trip to Petra! Mr. Bardaghawi is a kind, friendly, and informative person, and an excellent driver, most importantly for our 12+ hour day trip! We enjoyed talking with him about family, cultures, and history. He treated us to coffee/tea and falafel and made sure we had time for breaks in our 3+ Our drive to Petra. He was most gracious in stopping so we could take pictures at points of interest, which we very much appreciated. He was patient and encouraged us to take our time touring Petra. We lucked out with an excellent guide hired through our tour reservation. His name was Essam (Sam), he was incredibly informative, well spoken, friendly and an amazing photographer!! The pictures he took of us are absolutely incredible!! He went at our pace, never rushing us and provided helpful recommendations on local shops. Petra is beyond beautiful and one day truly isn’t enough but Sam covered as much as he possibly could in our time together. If you are ever looking for an extraordinary guide we highly recommend Essam Aref Atyah Hamadeen!

Adnan was an outstanding guide who made our two days exploring Jordan truly memorable! He took us to Petra, St. George’s Church in Madaba, the Dead Sea, Mount Nebo, and Bethany Beyond the Jordan, while also introducing us to the rich history, culture, and hospitality of the Jordanian people. What made this experience especially special was how Adnan went beyond the typical tourist attractions. He introduced us to the local foods, traditional drinks, and everyday ways of life in the different cities we visited. This gave us a much deeper appreciation for Jordan and its people, allowing us to experience the country beyond what you would normally see as a tourist. Adnan was incredibly friendly, polite, hospitable, and considerate throughout our entire journey. He made us feel welcome and comfortable, shared his knowledge generously, and ensured we had a meaningful and enjoyable experience at every stop. I highly recommend Adnan to anyone visiting Jordan. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine passion for sharing his country made our trip unforgettable. We hope to visit Jordan again soon, and when we do, we will absolutely book through him again! Great experience with Adnan our driver. Smooth pickup at the hotel and easy drive to Petra where we arrived well prepared and on time. Adnan gave us a plan so we could see the monastery and tips for once inside. Highly recommend R&H VIP transportation

Adnan was our driver for the day and he was punctual in picking us up. It was a smooth drive to Petra, with a short rest stop, to break up the trip. Adnan provided a lot of information about Jordan broadly as we drove through the beautiful countryside. As we got closer to Petra, he provided us with invaluable information that allowed us to navigate Petra without a guide, and avoid making any mistakes with the "free" tips/people living inside the ancient city. The local people were very friendly but we could see how you could be easily led off the path. We had plenty of time to explore the whole site (excluding the Monastery) and Adnan came to collect us when we were ready. It was the perfect way to see Petra!

My partner and I booked our driver Adnan for our first visit to Petra. We highly recommend requesting Adnan as he was very accomodating and insightful throughout the entire 6 hour trip. On the way to Petra and the way back to Amman he stopped at a midway house so we could have a rest from the long drive. He allowed us to have lunch after our Petra visit at a local restaurant where the food and service was amazing. Adnan gave us very helpful tips for our trip to Petra, including what to expect, as well as giving us extra bottles of water so we didn't need to purchase any inside. This was a great experience for my partner and I and if we ever come back to Petra, Adnan will be our first point of contact! :)

We had a brilliant experience in Southern Jordan with Bardaghawi as our driver, Esam as our guide for Petra, and Abdullah as our guide through Wadi Rum. Everything flowed smoothly, from the early morning hotel pickup to the 4 hour drive to Wadi Musa. Bardaghawi provided some great local history and context for us throughout the journey. We were then handed over to Esam at the Petra visitor center, and spent the next several hours exploring the site with him as a guide - he was great, knowledgeable and funny, we really enjoyed meeting him and spending a bit of time with him. We decided last-minute to go to Wadi Rum and Bardaghawi arranged it no problem. We were brought around by Abdullah in his jeep and saw some beautiful scenery in the desert. The whole experience was great. Recommended 10/10

Adnan was super helpful and a great driver! The mini bus was amazingly cool and comfy plus Adnan gave us water and took us to get falafel wraps too!

This day trip was a fantastic experience. Our driver and guide Bardaghawi picked my wife and I up from the hotel and during the drive to Petra he gave us some great insights into Jordan and explained the rich history of Petra. We stopped for coffee and a very smart souvenir shop en route, and Bardaghawi gave us some very useful practical advice on the best way to explore Petra. We had pre-purchased Jordan Passes so entry was straight forward. We had a fantastic self-guided visit to the historical site at Petra, which is definitely a must-see location in Jordan. Our drive back to Amman also went very smoothly.. it was a great day, good value and many thanks to R&H and Bardaghawi.

Jordanian hospitality is fantastic. My hosts were attentive and knowledgeable. Khalid was an excellent driver and an interesting conversationalist. Fatima was a tremendous guide. She was patient to answer my questions, and she has extensive knowledge of Petra and its history.

Everything was very well organized and well communicated. Khalid was a safe driver and an interesting conversationalist. He was most attentive to my desires and interests. Fatima was my tour guide at Petra, and she was outstanding. I could tell that she was very committed to helping me understand the history and details of Petra. Both of my hosts were quite knowledgeable and hospitable.

It can be cold so be prepared in February and March. All down hill walking to Treasury and Amp. Can pay to get golf cart ride back uphill to visitors center. Wonderful geography and history!

I have gone on a full day trip to Amman with private pick up from the hotel. The driver called Bardaghawi got in touch to agree on the pick up time the day before the trip, all the scheduling was very well done and perfectly on time. He was very professional and friendly, providing helpful information about the site visit. Petra is beautiful place a must see when you’re in Jordan. It is unique and incredible special place. ❤️ The whole trip was smooth, pleasant and beautiful!

Booked the all-inclusive tour with ticket and guide included. Muhammad, the driver assigned, was extremely professional and friendly. Arrived on time at 7 AM and was extremely knowledgeable about the way to Petra and back. The travel time from Amman to Petra is about 3 hours (about 240 km). I stayed in Petra with my guide for about 3-3.5 hours, covering 80% of the attractions. The site is extremely beautiful with a rich history, as explained by the local guide. I was back in Amman around 5 PM. Overall, the tour was nicely organized, with the operator being quite responsive over WhatsApp, clarifying any queries.

I love this place and the whole experience is amazing. Pedra is totally different from other valley. It’s like walking in the game. The driver abu anas is very gentle and decent. We love him.

Petra is an absolutely unforgettable place and a true wonder of the world. Walking through the Siq and seeing the Treasury for the first time is breathtaking. The scale, history, and beauty of the site are incredible, with stunning views everywhere you go. A must-visit destination in Jordan and an experience I will never forget.

This was our second stopover day in Jordan and second tour with R&H VIP Transportation driver Mohammad Bardaghawi who again provided terrific service getting us to Petra from Amman and back safely and comfortably. The drive was long—about 3 hours each way—so having someone personable, thoughtful and generous as Mohammad taking you was a real gift! We also had R&H arrange a local guide to lead us through the ruins, and he—Essam Hamadani (sp?)—was also excellent, knowledgeable, and professional. But the trip was well worth it; we’re glad we went and highly recommend this tour when you have limited time—especially if you can get Mohammad to drive you there and Essam as your guide. I would also note they offered lots of options and suggestions for the trip and tour, and were very flexible and catered to the choices we made.

Our driver Bardaghawi was extremely approachable and went above and beyond in his duty. Bardaghawi Provided regional information on the way too and from Petra. Conversation was extremely good and made the trip time roll on by. Petra itself was Amazing. Indiana being named after his dog is a small price too pay when confronted with the physical beauty and History of the place. Highly econmended

Bardaghawi Was a great driver! He was prompt, easy to talk to and was willing to stop wherever we asked. If you are tall, you may not have enough legroom in the car he was provided

Bardaghawi Was great!! He contacted us the night before so that we knew when and where to meet him. He was very prompt and very friendly. when he drove us to Petra, he pointed out a few places we might be interested in and help us take pictures. he was very flexible and willing to arrange with the company for us to stay for the night show. He does have a great day!

We had an excellent experience with Shadi as our guide and driver in Jordan. He drove us to Petra one day, and on the following day took us on a full tour to Mount Nebo, the Dead Sea, downtown Amman, and surrounding areas. From start to finish, everything was smooth, well-organized, and enjoyable. Shadi is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about his country. He answered all of our questions thoughtfully and never rushed us. My husband reads a lot about history and politics and always has plenty of questions—Shadi was more than happy to engage in deep, interesting discussions, which my husband truly enjoyed. The conversations added so much value to our experience and made the drives fly by. He is a very safe and confident driver, always punctual, and excellent at managing time so we were able to see and experience everything without ever feeling stressed or rushed. He was professional, friendly, and very accommodating, always making sure we were comfortable and getting the most out of each stop. And a bonus we didn’t expect—Shadi is a great photographer! He knew exactly where to stand, how to frame the shot, and patiently took photos at every stop. It honestly felt like traveling with your very own photographer. We highly recommend Shadi to anyone visiting Jordan who wants an informative, engaging, and stress-free experience. He truly made our trip memorable.

Fantastic experience, Petra is amazing! I was astonished by the Siq, such extraordinary work of God! The tour was perfectly organized by the agency, everything went perfect, like a Swiss clock! And Shadi, our guide and driver was extremely knowledgeable, he gave us so many insightful information, not only about the touristical objectives on our trip but also about Jordan overall, plenty of tips to consider on our stay! Naturally, we booked another tour for the next day! :)

On our second day in Jordan, we chose the full day tour to Petra from Amman through Viator, and opted for the ‘all inclusive’ option, which included a 2 hour guide of Petra and transfers. We had purchased the Jordan pass beforehand as we used this for other sites in Jordan, but they also asked for this on arrival to Petra. The tickets were already printed with our names on them. We left Amman at 7:30am, and stopped at a restaurant/shop half way, as this broke up the 3 hour journey to and from Petra. Our driver, Abdallah, drove very safely and had water for us throughout the journey, which was great. Petra was definitely worth the visit, and a guide was needed to help us with the history behind the city.

This is the BEST experiences I’ve ever had!!! The tour guide Essam is so knowledgeable, so professional and so kind. Essam took pictures for me which is beyond the professional photographers can offer, and I found out he has a degree in Graphic Design!! The driver Shadi is extremely professional, kind and friendly. He made 6 hours drive of round trip extremely safe and enjoyable!! Jordan is a beautiful country, Petra is the best experience, after I visited all new 7 wonders of the world! I would highly recommend the company and the tour to all the travelers!!!

What a memorable day! Bader was waiting for us and we were instantly impressed with his professionalism. The car was spotless. On our way to Petra, we stopped for coffees and fresh fruit. Bader gave us lots of information on the history of Jordan which was incredibly interesting. Once we arrived in Petra. Bader dropped us off at the main entrance. He was there ready for us when we had finished our excursion. We didn’t have any waiting time. Our journey home was comfortable and Bader asked if we needed to stop for food and drinks. Nothing was too much to ask and he just wanted to ensure we had a safe and comfortable journey. Would highly recommend.

My sister and I took a day trip to Petra with Hussein as my driver, and everything went smoothly. He picked us up from my hotel on time and was very accommodating when I asked to be dropped off at the Citadel afterward. The drive was comfortable, and Hussein was friendly and professional throughout the trip. A convenient and well-organized experience overall.

If time is limited and you want just a day trip to Petra, this is the trip for you. It is a private tour, with great flexibility. Our driver and guide on route was outstanding (Mr Bardaghawi); friendly, informative, accommodating, and a great driver! Our Petra guide Mohammed was similarly excellent. We had a wonderful day in Petra. Our driver was excellent, gave us enough information about the context, drove safely, made breaks when we requested, showed a couple of extra things on the way, gave good tips for tourists from a very different country and culture, was punctual regarding the agreed timing - in order words - excellent!

We enjoyed our day in Petra. Our driver Zak communicated with us the day before and so did the company when the driver couldn’t contact us. He picked us up on time, drove us to Petra , waited for us, and brought us to our hotel in Amman. He was very helpful answering our questions.

Hotel pick up my Bardaghawi right on time, good communications using what’s app. He was great, showing me points of interest along the way. Then I was personally guided around Petra by Mohammed who was very knowledgeable. I spent about 5 hours on the site exploring and being amazed by the incredible stone works. All in all it was an outstanding tour.

Mahmuod awad was our driver to Petra. We paid for car service only. He arrived earlier than 6am which we were already ready. Nice clean car for the 3 hour drive to and back. He stopped mid way for bathroom break. We had about 4 hours to explore Petra which we found was ample amount of time 9-1pm. We would book this again.

Overall excellent experience. Our driver was Adnan. He was fluent in English, and communication was very clear. My husband speaks zero arabic and understood him completely. He reached out a day prior to our trip to provide contact information and confirm pick up location. He arrived early. The car was clean, air conditioned, and he provided us with water. On the ride to Petra, half way through the, we stopped at a rest stop (restrooms, tea, coffee, food, souvenirs). He provided us with a map and tips and tricks to navigate Petra which were helpful. He also gave us a modem so we can have wifi during our hike through Petra. We spent about 3 hours in Petra, and met him at the pick up point when we were done. On the ride home, we similarly stopped about half way through at a rest stop (restrooms, tea, coffee, food, souvenirs). Overall the ride was a little over 3 hours each way from our location in Amman. I felt safe with him as a driver. He provided some history and context one the drive, but also was quiet when he saw we were tired and needed to rest. Superb experience!

We opted for the full experience with the tour guide and it was well worth it - the Bedouin tour guides are super knowledgeable and it's a great way to help support the local community. Petra is absolutely stunning, and we'd highly suggest Muhammad as your driver if given the opportunity!

Great experience from beginnging to the end. Our driver, Mohammad Bardaghawi, was super profressional from the beginning (contacted us via WhatsApp the day before, arrived early w/ pictures of his car/plates), and treated us to some local refreshments on the way to Petra as well as something to cool us down on the way back. The drive was easy (it's a bit long but so worth it) and there were good vibes all around. Petra speaks for itself, and I'd highly recommend choosing to hire one of the local Bedouin tour guides as they are extremely knowledgable and passionate about the area. Super cool experience and I'd recommend this tour to anyone that wants to experience the magic of Petra and it's place in history - if Mohammad is your driver, you know you'll be in good hands.
