My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our private tour with this company. Our tour guide, Jumana, was the best and truly made this tour so enjoyable. We felt like we were being escorted by a family member to all the best local places and it’s obvious she is well loved among the vendors and others. Such a wonderful evening! I wish Viator allowed pictures, but don’t hesitate to book this tour!!

Lots of fun. Plenty of food, stuffed by the end.
Lots of great food to try, even as a picky eater didn’t have any issues. Also had a great guide, would do again.
Jumana went above and beyond to make sure that we had an incredible evening enjoying the local culture and foods of Amman. Highly recommend this as an activity to anyone with time in Amman who wants to enjoy a sampling of the local tastes and atmosphere of the city.
This was an excellent tour! We booked a bit last minute and they were very accommodating, even when we were a few minutes late. The food was all delicious, but a special shout out to the Zaatar Manaqish, the Kofta, and the Arayes. The trip through the market was fantastic, we wouldn't have found that on our own and it was a hopping fun place! Tour guide was terrific and took great of us, even the baby! Well worth the price, and it's a good thing to do at the beginning of a trip - the guide had good advice on places to go and things to see. Loved it, all the stars!
Fabulous experience - all of the food tasted was wonderful, the atmosphere around the streets was awesome, and Jumana our guide was brilliant. We learnt so much - interesting facts and lots about cultural ways, tolerance and warmth of the Jordanian people but most of all the food. Delicious food at every stop.
We booked the food tour for our first night in Amman and it was really the best thing we could do! We got to try amazing food- we left the tour beyond full- and we got to see the city. With all the talk of “tensions” in the Middle East it was a lovely and quick way to put us at ease in this beautiful city. After the tour we felt empowered to go back and explore and set the tone so nicely for our time in Jordan. Would highly recommend booking this tour! Jumana was a lovely guide.
In late April 2026, my wife and I began an amazing two week trip to Jordan. On our first evening in Amman, we decided to take the 3-Hour Guided Walking Food Tour offered by Amman Food Tours. We knew this would be an excellent way to sample a great variety of typical Jordanian cuisine right at the beginning of our trip. As expected, we were not disappointed. We met our guide, Jumana, near the top of Rainbow Street and began our food experience with a visit to Sah Elnoum Restaurant. Here we enjoyed a wonderful Zaatar Manaqish, while Jumana told us the story behind the hilarious illustrations of famous Arabic soap-characters decorating the walls of the restaurant. From there we walked a short distance to the Al Quds Restaurant to have one of their famous Falafel sandwiches. These sandwiches are not to missed. As we continued our tour, Jumana, provided great background information about the area and culture. Next, we visited the food market downtown and sampled a variety of fresh fruits. We also had a refreshing Lemon Mint Juice that became one of our favorites during the rest of our trip. We visited a number of other restaurants in the area, enjoying many local specialties including the national dish of Jordan, Mansaf. For desert, we had the amazing Kunafa at Habibah, an Amman landmark. Our guide, Jumana, was very knowledgeable and entertaining, and by the end of the evening we couldn’t eat another bite! It was great fun hearing about the history of Amman, as well as having the opportunity to sample such a wonderful variety of Jordanian food on our first evening in the country. We would highly recommend this amazing tour offered by Amman Food Tours.
A wonderful way to spend your first day in Jordan, Jumana was so incredible and passionate about sharing Jordanian culture and food it was such a fun evening. There is so much delicious food included so make sure to come hungry! I would highly recommend when coming to Amman, Jumana will set you up for a successful trip in Jordan offering recommendations for future places to try as well.
My friends and I did the Amman evening food tour with Jumana in late March 2026. Despite the regional tensions and conflict, we felt welcome and safe in Amman and Jordan overall. It was a treat to be in the city with so few tourists, but I sympathize with the locals who are suffering through a sluggish tourism economy. I booked the tour on the food tour’s website. Close to our tour date, Jumana coordinated the finite details about where and when to meet through WhatsApp. WhatsApp is commonly used in Jordan by tour guides, hotels, restaurants, etc. We met Jumana on Rainbow Street to begin our tour. Jumana took us to various cafes, restaurants, markets, and shops as we meandered through the city. For the most part, the food and drinks were authentic and delicious. It’s worth noting that there is quite a bit of walking on the tour, and the bathrooms can be infrequent. Coordinate with Jumana about when the next bathroom stop might be. It’s also imperative to let Jumana know prior to the tour if you have any dietary concerns, or prefer vegetarian dishes. Additionally, let Jumana know if you need bottled water purchased at any of the stops. It might be a good idea to bring some hand sanitizer, as some of the stops are streetside style cafes. The tour was fun, interactive, and brought us through parts of the city I might have not otherwise seen. I found the local open air markets interesting and fun. The sweet stops at the end of the tour were decadent. Since my friends and I were the only guests on the tour, we chatted with Jumana quite a bit. That may have extended the tour’s overall time a bit… but it still felt a bit too lengthy to me. Still, the overall experience was well worth it to connect with Amman’s local food scene. Enjoy your tour!
We had such a great time with Jumana! She seemed to know everyone in Amman and we explored places we woul never have found on our own, many of which we returned to the next day. We felt so welcomed by every shopkeeper and were so full by the end! Thank you Jumana - I highly recommend!
I had a great time learning about Jordanian food and getting to sample and taste through a traditional produce market. I normally don't like lamb or tahini but the lamb keftah in tahini sauce was my favorite thing!! Highly recommend this tour as an intro to Jordan.
It was an outstanding epicurean and cultural experience, led by an enthusiastic guide, Jumana. We sampled appetizers, drinks, produce, spices, main courses and deserts, the majority in old town Amman’s streets and alleyways. We highly recommend this food tour as the best guided food tour we have taken for epicurean and cultural experience. Don’t miss it and bring your appetite!
The food stops were outstanding. I think our guide was tired and had an off night as she wasn't all the engaged. Glad we did it anyway. I appreciated that it was a reasonable amount of food.. too many food tours the samples are way too big.
My husband, 18 year old son and I just spend a day with Jumana visiting the citadel and amphitheatre before eating our way through the streets of Amman. She is clearly liked and known by the local shop keepers and goes out of her way to give you access to a variety of foods that would be difficult to access on your own. Jumana was entertaining, friendly, knowledgeable and went out of her way to show us around the city. Highly recommend.
We are Americans and Jordan is a very, very safe place to travel. If you are worried about safety, do not be worried, it is very safe. My wife and I had an excellent experience with our guide Jumana. We ate many Jordanian dishes toured markets, had the national dish of Jordan and had desserts. We started with za'atar Manakish and continued to a falafel stand. We also went to the sugar market where we were showing all the fruits and vegetables and we ate some nuts, multiple olives and some dates. We saw the guy making some bread and slamming the bread against the inside of a tandoor oven to cook it. Then we went inside to have a couple of lamb dishes. We then had the national Jordanian dish of mansaf. We finished with a couple of desserts including the Jordanian ice cream. Jumana is an excellent guide. She kept the evening going, kept everybody engaged, told us other things about the sites we were seeing while recommending different restaurants along the way. Nobody could eat all of the food that we had. It was so much. This tour was noted as a 3-hour tour. Our tour actually lasted closer to 4 hours and it was interesting for everyone of those 4 hours. I highly, highly recommend this tour.
Excellent choice of food items to try with some history thrown in. We really enjoyed ourselves. Jumana has a great personality for this kind of work.
Jumana was our guide and provided us a fabulous food experience showing us the range of different cuisines and where to find them. She has long standing relationships with the different owners and was very knowledgeable and entertaining to us. We learned a lot about the food and its history. Would certainly recommend her to anyone considering a food tour around Amman.
My wife and I took this tour, with one other person, in mid December; the weather was cool with a little drizzle. We experienced Rainbow Street, as well as the crowded but vibrant Sugar Market and lower downtown. The food was great, and Jumana was a superb guide, patient with my fussy eating, and like every Jordanian we met, very proud of her wonderful country. The falafel especially was head and shoulders above anything we've ever tasted in the U.S.
Jumana absolutely made my last day in Jordan so fun. She was funny, charming, and imparted a lot of knowledge on Jordanian culture and food. We were all so full after and had a great time. Highly recommend this tour!
From the start to the end, we tried a variety of Jordanian dishes. There was plenty of food, and you wont need to eat afterwards. Our tour guide, Jumana, was excellent throughout. She was very insightful on the dishes we were given, and even gave some brief history of the shops/stores where we had the food/drinks. Definitely a highlight of our stay in Jordan.
Jumana was a fantastic guide and made the Amman food tour truly special. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the city and guided us expertly through the ins and outs of Amman in a way that felt both informative and personal. Not only did we stop at a wonderful variety of food spots, but we also walked through local markets, sampling fresh fruits, dates, peanuts, and olives along the way. We drank tea with locals and experienced mansaf in the most traditional way. What made the tour stand out most was how she shared stories from her own family and traditions, which added warmth and authenticity to the experience. My 11-year-old absolutely loved the zaatar bread, and Joanna included him in such a thoughtful and special way throughout the tour. Highly recommend!
My friend and I are in Jordan visiting my daughter, who’s a student here. We took this tour on our first night in Amman and had a fantastic time with Jumana as our guide—she is funny, fun, knowledgeable, and gave us a wonderful introduction to the city while treating us to all the must-have dishes anyone visiting Amman should try. I have been on a lot of food tours all around the world, and Jumana stands out as a delightful and engaging guide who made all of us feel fully at home while we ate our way through the city. Highly recommend.
This was so good! The food was delicious, the explanation behind the food was helpful and broadened my experience, the tour guide was amazing fun and welcoming, and did I mention the food was fantastic. Booked this my 1st night in Jordan, so I knew what to look for and what to order for the rest of my visit. There were only 4 in the group, we moved around quickly and easily, and the stops seemed to go appetizers, main entrees, desserts and drinks. I left a stuffed, satisfied customer looking forward to eating more of everything.
OMG- If you are in Amman you MUST book this tour! We had so much fun and ventured into places we never would have seen. We felt like locals and warmly welcomed where ever we went by the friendly market owners and spice sellers. and can we talk about the food? Amazing! Not only did we love every bite, but we learned about its history and importance to Jordanians. Our time passed so quickly and it was sad to say good bye. Book this with no regrets!
This was a great experience! Such a fun way to learn about the food, culture and daily lives of Jordanian people. We tasted a wide variety of dishes as we explored Old Amman in the evening. Our guide was very entertaining, caring and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this food tour!!
Absolutely enjoyed this tour so much. The food variety was incredible, great to try authentic jordanian food. Jumana was fantastic and so funny. There is a lot of food to try so come prepared!
Jumana was fantastic - she is so knowledgeable about Jordan and the food culture. Walking through the downtown market; numerous merchants called out and waved to her - it’s like seeing Amman with the mayor. There was too much food / I’m totally stuffed.
Lots of great traditional food stops and Jumana was very informative about Amman. Walked and saw a lot - very good tour! Go hungry!
Bring an empty stomach! There is so much food, especially if you're a small group or solo. There are small bites, main meal and desserts with a tea break and ice cream to end the evening. There's a bit of walking and lots of historic information. A must do when you're in Jordan.
This food tour with Jumana is definitely a MUST DO if you’re in Amman.. Jumana was so welcoming and full of energy the entire time. Every stop on the tour offers a DELICIOUS taste of Jordanian food. Show up hungry because you will sample many dishes. Jumana was passionate about showing how food is a fundamental part of Jordanian culture. I’m a traveler who wants an experience NOT just a meal and Jumana was the perfect tour guide to provide a deep cultural immersion She was knowledgeable about the food and the history of Jordan. Thanks Jumana for such a wonderful experience!!
I had an amazing experience on this food tour with Jumana! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Jordan who wants to explore the country’s cuisine and culture. Jumana was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights not just about the food, but also about everyday life in Jordan. It was especially inspiring to see a confident Jordanian woman like Jumana leading the tour, something that’s not so common in the local tourism scene. We got to taste a wide variety of delicious foods and drinks, and Jumana was attentive throughout the tour. She even helped me buy some sweets to take home as souvenirs for my family. At the end of the tour, a few of us happened to be heading in the same direction as Jumana, so we shared a taxi with her on the way back to our hotels, which was a lovely way to end the day.
We were eager to sample vegan foods in Amman and we had a wonderful time and got to try several different foods. The guide did a great job showing us the best of different foods and left us with an experience we would have been unable to create on our own. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and seemed to know everyone in town. She provided more than just an education about food and used different opportunities to also tell us about clothing traditions and other aspects of the culture. There were four of us in the group and at the end she stayed to make sure everyone got safely into a car to their accommodations. We really enjoyed the experience.
Jumana was fantastic! She was fun with a great sense of humor and very knowledgeable about the city of Ammon! It’s not just a food tour, you get to learn a lot about the city. She welcomed us to reach out to her if we needed any other advice for our trip. We took her up on that offer and she responded immediately. She went above and beyond to make the experience memorable for everyone in our group. She was conscious of dietary needs and food preferences for adults and children. I highly recommend Jumana if you’re looking to do a food tour in Amman.
It was awesome! You've got a very knowledgeable local (Jumana) taking you all over. The food was fantastic!
This is a great way to not only taste delicious food but to also get a sense of the vibrant culture and people of Amman. Jumanna was an excellent tour guide - full of energy and local knowledge and passionate and proud about her country and its amazing history, people and food.
Jumana took us on a wonderful evening food tour of Amman. Friendly, funny and knowledgable, she bought to life not just the incredible local food, but the history and streets of Jordan’s capital which was one big street party celebrating its’ independence like a local. Thank you! X
What can I say, from start to finish, this tour was just one of the best things I did in Amman. I met up with our guide, the amazing Jumana and from that point on, it was smooth sailing . Our group got along really well and we went in and out of places with ease and I actually felt like a local. We tried different items in each restaurant that just building our expectations on how to eat like a local. Jumana even arranged a birthday cake for me. It was so thoughtful and the whole group shared the cake. It didn’t stop there, we also got the traditional dessert, Kunafa and some Jordanian Ice cream. The whole trip felt like I was hanging out with friends with our leader Jumana. We joke around, shared stories, laughter and enjoyed every single second of this tour. We are all friends now and I will forever be grateful for the experience and the time we shared together. Jumana, you are the best. Seek her out if you are ever in Jordan! We love you Jumana!
Jumana is a smart lady who gets things done. She loves her country, and she knows how important food is to the Jordanian identity and social life. I lost count of the number of stops we did - more than the ten advertised - and at every stop the food was unforgettable. Everybody in Amman seems to know Jumana, and this opened doors into places that I as a tourist would never have known about. This is an experience not to miss, and worth every penny. Highly recommended.
This tour beyond exceeded my expectations. Whenever I go to a new city, I typically do some type of food tour - this one has definitely been one of my favorites! For three hours, I walked with Jumana through Rainbow Street and Downtown Amman, all whilst learning about the history of each of these places. I left the tour feeling like I had a greater understanding not only of the food of the area, but also of stories and histories of each of the foods we tried and restaurants we visited. I saw how beautiful the culture here can be - throughout the whole tour, Jumana interacted with others like they were her family. From falafel sandwiches to skincare routines, the conversations Jumana and I had never dissapointed. Because I was the only person on the tour, Jumana also carefully wrapped all of the leftovers for me to have over the upcoming days. Kuddos to this tour company. You can really tell that they put so much time and effort into their food tours. I highly highly recommend to anyone visiting Amman!
Don’t miss this excellent introduction to Jordan, and Amman in particular! We just returned home and have been talking about this wonderful experience. We’ve found food tours to be an excellent way to get familiar with the foods, culture, and histories of new places we visit. This tour more than met our expectations. Jumana was a wonderful guide and host. She found delicious stops and used the Rainbow Street area of Amman to share the Jordanian culture and Amman’s treasures with us. Fortunately, we don’t have dietary restrictions. Jumana made sure to check and let us know that there were wonderful alternatives if needed. Note, It rained on us at the beginning of our 3 hour walk but even that didn’t dampen the experience! We highly recommend the 3-hour evening Amman Food Tour.
The food tour was amazing. Needed help booking and the team was great at getting back to me and accommodating my request. Jumana was amazing on the tour, was super informative and helpful and really great to spend the evening walking around downtown Amman. All the restaurants/ vendors we tried were delicious and the tour was a great way to taste traditional foods in Amman.
We've done a lot of food tours. It's one of our favorite things to do in new towns, as you generally get off the beaten path and out of the main tourist locations. That was definitely the case on this tour. We had a great time and ate a ton of food. It was especially fun to spend the evening out in Amman and amongst all the Jordanians going about their evening. It's a vibrant and exciting city…everyone was happy to see us and very nice hosts. Don't worry about coming away hungry either! This was one of the most-filling food tours I've done. Highly recommended and a great way to see a great city.
We enjoyed the most amazing night with Jumana exploring the food and culture of Amman. Her knowledge and enthusiasm intertwining the food and history of Jordan makes the whole experience very enjoyable. It is also fun to watch her interaction with the locals. I recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your stay in Amman because she gives many recommendations of great places to eat and visit. A word of warning- do not eat breakfast or lunch on the day of your booking.
My guide, Jumana was vibrant, and took me on an amazing food tour through the bustling area of Rainbow Street and downtown markets. She considered my dietary requirements and alternative foods were offered if I couldn’t eat something. It was a fun experience as she interacted well with the locals, giving me a view into the local community. Best falafels that I have had.
An incredible experience! Jumana intertwined great food with the history and culture of Jordan making eating and learning and fun event. She expertly navigates the city so you get a feel for the modern Amman, and get to try samples of what the city offers along the way. The best part, Jumana seems to know 50% of the people you pass so it is friendly faces and laughs the entire tour. Highly recommend this. And yes…skip an earlier meal in the day because you will be full.
Jumana was so fun! Really informed, kept the tour informative and interesting and loved the private tour experience especially in parts of Amman that I wouldn't have thought to go myself. The three hour tour was more like four hours and plenty of food, definitely come hungry!
Pros:Tour guide Jumana, was charming, friendly, and informative. Felt like she was a good friend showing us her neighborhood. Cons: over priced...should either have more varieties of foods and beverages or cost less.
Jumana was a wonderful and passionate guide who shared the Jordanian culture through food. So much food, all delicious. A fantastic experience!
We can strongly recommend the guided food tour with Jumana! It was very informative about the culture of Jordan with tons of great food. Jumana is super kind and very knowledgeable.
