We recently stayed at Kilima Safari Camp for my cousin’s 40th birthday, and overall it was a really great time. The staff welcomed us warmly and showed us to our tented rooms, which were spacious, comfortable, and well kept. One thing to keep in mind is that some of the tents are pretty far from the main dining and activity areas. We ended up in one of the farthest tents, so there was a fair bit of walking back and forth—I’m pretty sure I got all my steps in just going to and from the room! The food was absolutely delicious, with lots of great options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. One of the best parts was getting to see wildlife right from the camp. While hanging out near the bonfire area, we spotted zebras, a kudu, warthogs, and even elephants in the distance. Even though our last interaction with the staff wasn’t as nice as when we arrived, we still really enjoyed our stay. It was relaxing, memorable, and the beautiful setting, wildlife sightings, and amazing food made it a really special place to celebrate.

My stay with family at the Kilima Safari Camp was very pleasant and memorable, the staff is very professional and courteous. Tent suites are fitted with modern plumbing and amenities giving you a very comfortable and pleasant safari experience. The Amboseli National Park is literally minutes from this property. All food is freshly prepared by the chef who takes a lot of pride in variety of flavorful dishes. The observation tower gives you the most spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Overall a very pleasant experience and highly recommend.
Staying at Kilima Safari Camp was a definite regret, we were a couple on our honeymoon and we faced a huge issue with the hygiene within the rooms “bed sheets were smelly, insects all over our tent” we have been bitten severely, moreover we asked for an ice bucket, while we were drinking it we found out that there is a fly or an insect frozen within the ice cubes Also, the hygiene of the swimming pool was not good as we found stuff “insects or something” swimming as well which is not a good indicator for hygiene Moreover, the network is really bad and always and also the wifi was only available at the restaurant and bar area and no wifi was at the rooms. to be quite honest we had to cut down our accommodation and instead of staying 7 nights we left after 4 nights The only positive thing we experienced was the food as it is really good a delicious
Stayed at Kilima Lodge and overall had a great experience. The rooms are beautiful, the property itself is stunning, and the views of Jaro are absolutely incredible. If you can, request rooms 16–19 as they have some of the best views on the property. The pool is fantastic and a perfect place to relax after a day out. The food was exceptional throughout our stay, easily one of the highlights. I’ve also stayed at Sopa, which is generally considered the more upscale and expensive option in the area, and while that’s a great property, I think Kilima offers better overall value for what you get. A couple of things to note. The WiFi was essentially non-existent, which is fine if you’re planning to disconnect, but it probably shouldn’t be advertised as an amenity. Also, while the monkeys roaming the property add to the experience, there were times they were getting into food areas, which raised some questions about food safety and handling. Overall, a really beautiful lodge with a unique setting. With a few small improvements, it would be outstanding.
We enjoyed our two-day stay with the family very much. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. The service employee, Moses, informed us about everything possible during every meal and told us a lot about the camp, the fauna, and the animals. Absolutely great service, thank you, Moses! The rooms were clean and tidy, with tent rooms for a truly wonderful safari experience. The gate to the park is right in front of the camp. The camp's garden has its own animals like zebras, antelopes, etc., that roam freely in the garden – essentially a mini-park. Outside the fence, the property has its own waterhole that attracts various animals. This means you can see elephants and other animals almost anytime. What a dream to start the day with a view of Kilimanjaro and elephants! A heartfelt thank you and greetings to Maasai Mike. He was very friendly and explored the property with us; we had great conversations about animals, the environment, and culture. Thank you, Mike! Highly recommend this hotel! Thank you for the stay.
