They canceled our tour and said the reason was that the guide decided to take three months off. So sad for us :(

This was such a great way to explore San Pedro. My family and I loved all of the food and enjoyed the historical conversation. This tour is a great way to get a feel for the area while being spoiled with local cuisine. What a delicious day!!!
Fun. Lots of good food. Nice guide. Good information. Wide variety of food. Mostly savory but some sweet
Fabulous history information! Lots of really good food too!
Great local food varieties with a lot of historical info! We loved the easy walk around San Pedro. Duane is an amazing knowledgeable guide!
The history of the island is worth the price alone. The food was fantastic at every stop. Our guide Dwayne did an excellent job.
Dwayne was an excellent tour guide. This tour was not only about the food but also a really good breakdown of the history of Belize and more specifically, San Pedro. One piece of advice - come hungry!
Our tour guide Dwayne was amazing. He was so personable and easy going. His knowledge of the Belizean history, including dates, was unbelievable. Dwayne actually made history interesting. Initially we were skeptical about a 2 1/2 hr walking tour, but the time was well spent. There's so much food included in this tour, we had food to go. Come hungry!
If I could give Dwayne more than five stars, I would. Seriously. From the second we met him, you could tell this wasn’t going to be one of those cookie-cutter, touristy food tours. Dwayne knows Belize like it’s his own kitchen, and every stop felt like we were being let in on a local secret. Not the “this is popular on TripAdvisor” kind… the real, tucked-away, where-the-locals-actually-eat kind. The food was incredible, but what really stood out was everything in between. Dwayne casually wove in the history of the island throughout the tour, and it honestly felt like a bonus experience we didn’t even expect. It never felt like a lecture, just really interesting stories and context that made everything make more sense. You’re not just eating, you’re understanding what you’re eating, where it comes from, and why it matters here. It made the whole experience feel super authentic and kind of special. He’s upbeat, easy to talk to, and somehow keeps everything moving without ever making it feel rushed. Just a really good vibe the entire time. If you’re even thinking about doing a food tour in Belize, ask for Dwayne. Five stars all day. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Dwayne was an excellent guide. We learned so much about the history of San Pedro and enjoyed the most amazing local, authentic foods along the way.
We took our tour with Dwayne. It was a hot morning, but he led us to shade as often as possible, explaining the history of Belize. We had delicious food - not small samples, mind you, but full size orders. Everything was amazing. Thank you Dwayne!
We had a really enjoyable time with Norma leading six of us around San Pedro feasting on chicken with beans and rice (best I’ve had so far in Belize!). We had fry jacks:one savory and one with powdered sugar and honey- so delicious! We stopped at a coffee and cigar spot and learned about and sampled different rum creams to add to drinks or coffee! Stopped by a chocolate shop and sampled chocolates!! Stopped by a place known for its fire oven room and sampled conch fritters and some other tasty appetizer! It was wonderful! We would never have known what was a good place and what to avoid! It was a great way to spend from 11-1pm! Also great exposure to good souvenirs to bring back home!!! Norma was fun and knows all the owners and their stories which made it even more meaningful! Book it!!
Interesting history lesson. Food was good, but I found the tour rather expensive at $75 per person. The food we had cost around $20 US if you were to buy it without the guide.
Absolutely worth it. This food and history tour of San Pedro was a highlight of our trip. Duane was fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the area. We stopped at 4–5 local spots, and every single bite was incredible. Fair warning: the portions are massive. No human can possibly eat everything you’re given (and that’s not a complaint). You’ll definitely be taking food home—and you’ll be happy about it because it’s that good. It’s worth every penny and a perfect way to get a lay of the land, discover great local places, and understand the history behind them. I’d recommend doing this early in your trip.
Due to an inner ear issue right before we traveled to Belize, I had to cancel all of my water excursions, snorkeling, diving, etc. I was a little sad as I sent my husband off to do these things, but I knew I would find something that I liked. Since I am a foodie, I looked for some that would be interesting and part of the local culture. I lucked out by booking this tour. I had the most amazing time on my own little vacation in Belize and thanks to this very fun and informative food and history tour, I had a blast! I tasted some of the best local food ever. We were a small group of just three people so we got a lot of attention and our tour guide, gosh I wish I could remember his name. It started with a D I believe, young man of about 28 years old was excellent! He was so engaged and knowledgeable. And answered every single question that we could’ve had. He really made us feel part of the culture. I would highly highly recommend doing this when you are in Belize. Even if I was able to do water sports on my next trip, I would still do this tour again. If I could give more than five stars, I would.!!!! oh and do not eat before you come. You will get plenty of food and even some to take with you!!
What an enjoyable, leisurely morning walk with our guide, Duane. Great historical information and delicious, authentic Belizean foods and markets along the way. Highly recommend.
good variety of food, tried some unique local restaurants that i would not have normally gone into, interesting history on the country as well
Dwayne was an excellent tour guide. He’s friendly and very knowledgeable about the island and its history. The food was all great but the highlight for us were the fry jacks at Neri’s Tacos and the chocolate from Belize Chocolate Company. We tried a lot of dishes we wouldn’t have even known to ask for were it not for the tour. Highly recommended!
My advice is to go hungry! We stopped at many local restaurants in the old town of San Pedro to sample some amazing dishes. We started with Fry Jack and tacos at Neri’s, sampled conch soup at Sweet Tutz & Delight and ended the tour at the chocolate factory. Our guide Duane was very knowledgeable about the history of Belize and Ambergris Caye, which he shared with us as we walked from restaurant to restaurant. We could not consume all the food on our tour and left with enough food for two more meals! Highly recommend this tour to enjoy food like a local!
This was a great tour around San Pedro’s old town. Our tour guide Duane, was very knowledgeable about the history of Belize and Ambergris Caye and shared it with us as we walked to the different restaurants. All the food stops were for local foods that were delicious. There was way more food than we could consume and like the other reviewers, we took about half of it home! Highlights were the Fry Jack and the conch soup!
Great food and really enjoyed learning about the history of Belize while doing so - it was a the perfect way to end my trip!
This tour was great. Most food tours you only get small samples, but we got minimum appetizer size portions at every stop. I think our tour guides name was Dwayne and he was great giving the history as we walked. Very short walking tour as well, all spots were short distances from each other which is great. It was a great mix of restaurants and street food and we also stopped at a couple places to shop. By the time we got to the chocolate factory for dessert, I was stuffed. 10/10 highly recommend. Good eats, shopping and history all in one tour was perfection. Plus we got to take pics at the san pedro sign.
Excellent tour by Dewayne. Interesting food and facts just not the best space for walking. (Busy streets, no sidewalks, loud)
Absolutely the best food and history tour. We loved it. We had a blast. It was very personal with just us and another family. I think we were full after the first stop. Believe me, you aren’t just getting just a bite of food. 100% recommend.

Awesome guide. Lots of food. Lots of Belizean history. Overall, great tour to kick off your trip to San Pedro. No regrets.
I believe we had 6 food stops along our tour and every stop was a substantial amount of food. We tried some new foods, like fry jacks, which were found incredibly tasty! Every stop was enjoyable. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all the questions we threw at him. Highly recommend!!!
We had a wonderful lunch food tour in San Pedro with Melva. She was incredibly knowledgable about the Caye, along with the food scene in San Pedro. Great experience for the six of us.
This was an awesome food tour. We got a little history, some tips on where to go and how to shop, and some great food. It's one of the few food tours where you actually got whole meals, not little snacks.
The tour was very informative & food was great. The first food tour where I actually got full. The guide was great
Amazing tour! We had tasted a few of the dishes on our own in the days prior, but he was able to take us to better, local spots. We ate SO good. By the end we were stuffed. You also learn so much on this tour. We loved that it was one of the few tours that didn’t require you to leave the island. Highly recommend!
This was a wonderful tour our tour guide Ovel was Exceptional, knowledgeable and kind we taught us so much about the culture and history of San Pedro you could ask any question and he would give you an answer he’s a people person calm and collected. The food was really delicious and filling you will be full on the first meal it is worth every dollar so if you’re looking for a food tour book with Ovel you won’t be disappointed.
Our guide was Ovel, and he was absolutely wonderful. We showed up hungry and went away stuffed, with "to go" food in hand. Ovel took us to places off the beaten path, not touristy spots at all, and we got a genuine taste of Belize from the experience. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and we learned a lot of great San Pedro history, too. For folks with mobility challenges, our path took us on mostly smooth sidewalks, and my elderly mother was able to do the tour with ease. Ovel also checked in with her frequently and made sure that we weren't moving too quickly. All in all, a wonderful time - highly recommend!
We had a deliciously fun time. Ironically, we did the exact same tour 3 years ago, with another couple on this tour as well.
Excellent tour! Highly recommend!!
