Sunset Caribe Belize

We had a great stay overall. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive. A special commendation to the concierge team, who were incredibly helpful in making our birthday celebration a success. We truly appreciated their effort and hospitality. Unfortunately, the experience ended on a disappointing note. After our stay, I received an email stating that I was being charged $10 for a broken glass found in the dishwasher. We never used, loaded, or even touched the dishwasher during our entire stay. Housekeeping routinely loaded it, so I was very surprised to be held responsible for something we did not break. While $10 is a small amount, it’s the principle. Charging a guest for a broken glass under these circumstances feels unreasonable and left a sour taste after what had otherwise been a wonderful stay. It also makes me wary that guests could potentially be charged for something as minor as a missing spoon or broken glass without any indication that they were responsible. Unfortunately, this is why I’m leaving a 3-star review. I genuinely enjoyed the hotel, but this policy and how it was handled significantly impacted my overall impression.

Sunset Caribe was a wonderful place to stay! The property was always clean, the rooms were comfortable, and we met so many lovely people during our stay. The poolside food was delicious, and the happy hour drink specials were definitely worth taking advantage of. 🍹🌴 My only suggestion would be to keep the pool and jacuzzi open a little later than 10 PM. After spending all day exploring the island, it would've been nice to come back and enjoy a late-night dip before calling it a night. Other than that, everything was great. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Sunset Caribe to anyone visiting San Pedro! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our stay at Sunset Caribe in San Pedro, Belize was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment wee arrived, the staff made check-in smooth and welcoming, and we immediately felt like I was on vacation in paradise. The rooms are modern, spacious, and beautifully designed—more like a luxury condo than a standard hotel room. We especially loved the loft-style layout and the private balcony overlooking the pool and bay. Waking up to those water views and ending each day with a sunset over the Caribbean was truly special. The pool area is one of the highlights of the property. It has a relaxing, social atmosphere with a swim-up bar and comfortable loungers, perfect for spending the day unwinding. The sunsets here really live up to the name—some of the best we’ve ever seen. The staff throughout the resort were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with recommendations, transportation, or reservations. Housekeeping kept everything clean and well-maintained during my stay. One thing to note is that the resort is a bit outside of central San Pedro, so renting a golf cart is helpful for getting around the island. However, the quieter location also adds to the relaxing, resort-style feel. Overall, Sunset Caribe is a fantastic choice for couples, friends, or solo travelers looking for a stylish, comfortable stay with incredible views and a laid-back luxury vibe. We would absolutely stay here again.

‼️45 & UNDER DONT GO‼️ The property itself was very nice, clean, and well-maintained. The room was comfortable, and you can tell they take pride in keeping the resort looking beautiful. However, the overall atmosphere was not what we expected for a vacation resort. There was no entertainment at the pool or bar area, and there really wasn't a social environment where guests could gather and enjoy themselves. The resort felt very quiet and lacked the fun, welcoming vibe many travelers look for when visiting Belize. The staff was professional, but not nearly as friendly or engaging as what we've experienced at other resorts. One thing that was especially disappointing was being told we couldn't play our small speaker by the pool during the daytime. While I understand respecting other guests, it felt overly restrictive for a vacation setting. Future guests should also be aware that this is a completely smoke-free resort. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property, including private balconies, and violations can result in a $500 fine. Another downside was the dining setup. There is no full kitchen on-site, the pool menu is very basic, and the main restaurant is actually located next door at their sister property. While food was available, it wasn't as convenient as having a full-service restaurant within the resort itself. Overall, the accommodations were nice, but for the price, there are other options on the island that offer a more lively atmosphere, friendlier service, and better amenities. If you're looking for a quiet, low-key stay, this may be a good fit. If you're looking for a true resort experience with entertainment and a social atmosphere, you may want to explore other options.
