I highly recommend Ramons Village. The village is beautiful. The service is excellent. The staff is very helpful. We very much enjoyed hanging around the pool and beach in between our excursions in San Pedro. Good gift shop. Excellent food. Truly a wonderful experience.

Very disappointing experience at Ramon’s Village Resort. During my stay, I experienced major electrical outages over two consecutive days. On August 25, 2026 the electricity was out for hours and continued going on and off throughout the night. On August 26, 2026 I was without electricity from approximately 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 a.m. the following morning—approximately 14½ hours. Without electricity, there was no A/C in approximately 94-degree weather, no reliable refrigeration, no hot water, no lighting, and no internet. My medication and food stored in the refrigerator were ruined. I later learned that Ramon’s Village had generator power for the front office and restaurant, but not for ANY of the guest rooms. I personally went to other nearby hotels during the outage and found that they had electricity. For a resort operating in an area where power outages can occur, I was extremely disappointed that backup power was not available to my guest room, nor do they tell you. Then there was the sargassum seaweed. During my stay, there was significant sargassum along the shoreline, with a very strong and unpleasant odor (rotton egg smell) round the resort. This was not something confined to the inside of my particular room—it was an outdoor environmental condition in the resort area that guests could encounter. Because there was no A/C during the power outage, I had to open my door for ventilation. That brought the strong sargassum odor directly into my room, along with insects that came inside and bit me. When the electricity finally returned and the lights came on, I also observed roach-like insects scurrying across the floor. After experiencing these conditions and extensive electrical problems over two consecutive days, I decided I could not risk spending my final two nights without reliable electricity. I checked out at the required checkout time and paid to stay elsewhere. I requested reimbursement for four nights: two nights for the severe electrical outages and loss of essential services, and two unused nights because I left Ramon’s Village as a result of those conditions. Ramon’s Village would not provide the full four-night refund I requested. What disappointed me most was not simply that an island experienced a power outage. It was that my guest room did not have backup generator power, essential services were unavailable for extended periods, my medication and food were ruined, and I ultimately had to leave the resort to obtain accommodations where I could rely on electricity. Ramon’s Village may look beautiful in photographs, but travelers should be aware of what I experienced: prolonged power outages without backup power to my guest room, intense heat without A/C, loss of refrigeration and hot water, unreliable internet, significant sargassum odor, insects, and an unsatisfactory response to my request for reimbursement. Based on my experience, I would not stay at Ramon’s Village Resort again.
Excellent accomadations and staff. Divers this an excellent dive operation. Knowedable experienced friendly dive guides and dive masters here! Cannot say enough good things about Ramon's! I don't want to forget the lovely staff at the restaurant..they made me feel like family as I was traveling solo. I will be back!
We stayed at one of the Steve & Becky’s cottages for 3 nights, which is conveniently located just across the street from the main property. Ramon’s is in excellent location and has friendly staff. However, the cleanliness could be improved. Upon checking in, we noticed mold on the ice bucket and musty smell, especially in the bathroom. We also found a small orange dried snack on one of the beds. While it’s an okay place to stay, if your budget permits, I believe the rooms within the main property appear to be better. We met with other guests at Ramon’s, and they seemed happy with their rooms. Apart from that, they offer a range of activities, such as guided snorkeling and diving, which we also enjoyed. They also provide equipment rentals.
The short version: our room became infested with bugs, the staff failed to tell us several important details, and they tried to double charge me for the golf cart rental. Only upside was that the resort grounds were really pretty. The long version: when we got to the room it was freezing. Some people may like that but we are used to having the AC set to 71 (it was set to 63). So during the day we turned the temperature up to 72 and when we got back the room had HUNDREDS of termite larvae and adults. All over our bedding, our luggage, everything. They said this happens when you turn the temperature up because they don’t like the cold. In my opinion- that is pertinent information that we should have been made aware of. Then we had to move rooms for one night and wait for the staff to clean the room In the morning which ate into our time for our plans that day. The staff was also just very mid except for the dive staff, they were great. They also did not tell us when we reserved the golf cart that the electric carts won’t make it to secret beach, which is something we wanted to do. Every time we needed to talk to the golf cart rental office there was some problem also. AND they tried to charge me twice for the golf cart. Would not stay here again.
