I can confidently say that our stay at Matachica in October 2025 was one of the best experiences we've ever had, especially as it was a celebration of my birthday. From the moment we were picked up, the service was exceptional. Gustavo and Archie, in particular, made our stay memorable, going above and beyond to ensure we felt special and at home. Our room exceeded our expectations. It was impeccably maintained, with fresh coffee in the mornings and delightful cookies waiting for us at night. On my birthday, we were pleasantly surprised with pastries that added a personal touch to our celebration. The culinary experience at Matachica is nothing short of extraordinary. Everything is farm to table and made fresh daily, ensuring that even the simplest dishes are impeccable. Each meal was a masterpiece, showcasing fresh, local ingredients and thoughtful preparation. The drinks and cocktails were equally impressive, enhancing the overall dining experience. While we did encounter a sargassum outbreak during our visit, the resort took diligent care to keep the beach clean every day. Despite this, our stay felt like pure paradise the atmosphere was serene and incredibly relaxing. The spa services were also remarkable, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and rejuvenation. On my birthday, the staff suggested a snorkeling excursion that we initially hesitated to join, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. We saw more marine life than on previous excursions and felt like part of the Matachica family rather than just guests. What truly sets Matachica apart from other resorts is their genuine care for guests. Unlike other places that often feel like sales pitches, every aspect of our stay felt authentic and considerate. This small, inclusive luxury resort truly knows how to provide an experience that goes beyond mere relaxation it's about pampering and making guests feel valued. Overall, our time at Matachica stands out among all our vacations. They not only provided a luxurious escape but also created a warm, welcoming environment where we felt seen and cherished. I cannot recommend Matachica enough for anyone looking to create unforgettable vacation.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Matachica! We stayed in one of the beach casitas, and the rooms were incredibly spacious, beautiful, and immaculately clean. The entire property and all of the facilities are exceptionally well-maintained. What truly sets Matachica apart is the people. The staff was incredibly friendly, warm, and went out of their way to be helpful with everything we needed. We also can’t say enough about the dining. Mambo was amazing! The food was spectacular every single night, with the snapper and the mango shrimp being absolute standouts. On top of that, we were so impressed by the resort's dedication to the guest experience. Even with a heavy sargassum seaweed surge hitting the island, the team made an incredible, nonstop effort to clean the beach all day long to keep it beautiful for us. We would highly recommend Matachica to anyone looking for a relaxing, top-tier getaway in Belize!

Matachica sets the bar for what a luxury resort experience should feel like, and it’s not even close. Coming off a disappointing stay elsewhere in mainland Belize, this place was everything we could have asked for and more. From the moment we arrived, the complimentary boat transfer to and from the airport set the tone — thoughtful, seamless, and stress-free. Free snorkeling was just the beginning of the included perks, but what truly made this stay unforgettable was the staff. Luis, Cruz, and the rest of the team went completely above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday special. They decorated our room with balloons, curated an excellent birthday dinner, and the personal touches didn’t stop there — they literally climbed trees to bring us fresh coconut. Coffee and tea were delivered right to our room. When we went out snorkeling, they even sent a boat to check on us. That level of care is rare anywhere in the world. The hotel staff act as concierges and coordinate everything on your behalf which we truly appreciate. Everything felt personalized, warm, and genuinely attentive — not performative. You could tell the staff truly wanted to make the experience special, not just go through the motions. We will 100% be back. Matachica is not just the best resort in Belize — it’s the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at, full stop.

The ocean breeze is amazing and non-stop. When we arrived, we got picked up immediately and driven to a speedboat for a spectacular ride to the resort over the waters. Rooms were clean with some signs of age but held up very well for our needs. I dined at the restaurant no less than 4 times over the course of the trip. We were very surprised by how the food was consistently delicious over the course of 4 nights. Staff seems happy and taken care of. We joined the Captain’s Table and got a dedicated guide through Belizean dishes. Highly recommend for first timers. :)
