We had a great experience with this tour. The guide was friendly and informative, and the length of the tour was perfect for our group of 10.

Itinerary
The ruins of Pompeii are a vast archaeological site in the southern Campania region, near the coast of the Gulf of Naples. Once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under meters of ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The preserved site features remain of excavated streets and houses that visitors can freely explore.
The Civil Forum represents the center of the daily life of the city, all the main public buildings for the administration of the city and justice, for the management of business, for commercial activities, such as markets, overlook it, in addition to the main places of city worship.
The Temple of Jupiter dominates the northern side of the Forum, and Vesuvius rises spectacularly behind it. With the deduction of the colony (80 BC) the temple was the subject of a radical renovation and became a real Capitolium, with the three cult statues of Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, which imitated those of the Capitolium in Rome, placed on a high base, so as to make them visible to those passing through the Forum square.
The Macellum consists of a tuff of Quadri porticus with a hall for worship in an elevated position on the eastern side, in line with the entrance. The Macellum of Pompeii was nothing more than the city market where people could buy food. Located north-east of the Forum, the complex had to remain out of the way from the square so as not to create too much crowding, given the high number of people who certainly frequented it. The walls of the porticoes were decorated with scenes from daily life, such as selling fish and poultry, and mythological subjects.
Via dell'Abbondanza is one of the main streets of the ancient city of Pompeii, in Campania, which connects the Forum with the Amphitheatre.
The Stabian Baths were built at different times. The initial phase of construction dates back to the 4th BC. (the gym with a trapezoid base). The main entrance by Via dell'Abbondanza leads to a large courtyard. The pool is found to the left, whereas a colonnade is found to the right, which leads to the men's quarters, which are split into the apodyterium (dressing room), with the frigidarium (for cold baths), which leads to the tepidarium (for medium temperature baths) and then to the caldarium (for hot baths). The heating was guaranteed by a piping system in the walls and double floors that circulated the hot air coming from the furnaces and from mobile braziers. The women's quarters, close to the men's quarters, were split the same way into the apodyterium, tepidarium and caldarium. However, all were smaller and had no rich decorations as the men's quarters.)
The brothel of Pompeii, with its erotic paintings, is one of the best-known buildings of the excavations and had the function of a brothel. The prostitutes in the brothel were mostly Greek and Oriental slaves. The building has two floors. The homes of the owner and the slaves are at the top, and there are five rooms at the bottom, all fitted with a built-in bed. The brothel is named from Lupa, a Latin word meaning 'prostitute'.
The Large Theatre was built around the middle of the 2nd century BC and significantly restored according the Roman style. In the theatre they represented comedies and tragedies of Greek Roman tradition. The theatre was the first large public building completely freed from the deposits of the eruption.

Pickup and minibus were fine. Air-conditioning on the bus. Very difficult to hear the guide though. A better microphone or speaker is required. The queues st Pompeii were huge as many cruise liners had recently docked. One of my friends had mobility problems and could only complete the first ten minutes of the guided tour. The booking agent should ask about this as they wasted a lot of money. We did the whole tour which was great but very tiring. Too many people queuing everywhere. A long walk back to the minibus which again wasn't great for my friend.
Fantastic experience, excellent guide. Operation from pick up to drop off prompt and swift. For two hours our guide took us to the highlights of Pompei. Another bucket list item ticked off. We rate the tour 12/10.
Excellent tour! Our guide was very informative and did a great job! The tour was better than expected!
Guides were friendly and knowledgeable, bus was clean, driver handled vespas and curves like a pro 😆
The Pompei experience was very well organized from the meeting point to the drop off. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and delivered the info in an engaging manner.
We had a great time at this excursion. The bus ride was smooth both ways. Our guided were friendly, knowledgable, and charming! The stop at the shell jewellery store was a fun touch. The day was perfectly paced!
Went into shop and booking was easy with pick up arranged at covenient place. Minibus took us to Pompeii and guide pointed out places of interest on the way. Arrived at site and jumped queue of more than 50 😋. Earpiece provided so able to hear guides excellent commentary throughout the tour. She was very knowledgable and obviously passionate about the subject. Facinating and with a sense of humour. Recommend 100% and worth the price.
An easy way to get to Pompeii. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. A must see educational experience that only took part of the day.
The transportation and tour guide was excellent. I rated 3 because the group was too big and we kept loosing the audio from the tour guide. It is impossible to keep the group together because the streets are narrow, uneven and there are many other groups walking next to you at the same time.
Fantastic trip, very knowledgeable guides who made the trip come alive. Also thanks to the driver Mario. Just a shame that there are so many people making it difficult for perfect pictures, but it is one of the most visited world heritage sites.
Our family of 3 did a half-day tour of Pompeii in May 2025, leaving from Sorrento. It took about an hour to reach the site, then another 20-30 minutes to organize on site. This allowed us time to purchase a snack and refill our water bottles before entering the site. We walked through Pompeii for 3 hours, learning from our guide the whole way. She was knowledgeable about the site, but kept the tour moving so we could see as much as possible with the short time frame - while allowing plenty of time to ask questions and take lots of pictures! Pompeii in May was very hot and crowded. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, etc. I was grateful for my wide brimmed “tourist hat” and comfortable sneakers too!
I booked 5 people for a 30 Person tour. They took us 5 in a private car, rather than the bus that was there, which was confusing. We get to the tour and had to wait for the other bus. Then we were taken to a gift shop and wasted time. We finally got into the tour and my group was pulled from the tour early because our driver was there to pick us up. That is not what we signed up for or paid for. It was our one time in Pompeii and we did not get to complete the tour we signed up for because of the had a private car we did not sign up for.
Guide was awesome.. very informative.. don’t go without a good guide .. Gino was our guide .. best tour yet !!!
Efficiently organised and very knowledgeable and helpful guide - Annalisa. I thoroughly recommend this half day trip to Pompeii.
The driver and the guide arrived promptly and were very professional. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Tailored our tour based on our interests.
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The bus driver and guide on the bus were very good and kept us well informed of all the sites on the way to Pompii. The tour guide that took us around Pompii was amazing, very knowledgeable, very professional and very humorous. We would not have seen or learnt so much if we had done it by ourselves
We really enjoyed the tour. It was well organized, the guide was very knowledgeable, and transportation comfortable. No complaints at all.
Very organized trip! I was late for my bus (couldn't find the transportation) and the tour guide was very supportive and were able to pick me up on the way there. We stayed together with the group, interesting tour. I wish the Pompeii tour guide spoke slowly and more clearly, but she showed a lot of interesting things and I've learned a lot about history. Lots of tourists in August and it was one of the hottest day there, +36. Bring water and stay hydrated, hat us a must, hard to find shade on a sunny day.
The trip to Pompeii was great. Bus drivers cert bus guide and tour guide were lovely. Tour guide very knowledgeable and brought the history alive. Really enjoyable
We booked this trip with our two young kids (3 years, 9 months) because it left early before getting too hot & included round trip transfers from Sorrento. It was well-organized and we were grateful for the good humor of the guide and the tour operator (Giovanna?) for looking after our pram while we carried our kids through the ruins. We had some issues getting to the meetup point (trains on strike - not their fault) and that it moved a lot faster than we anticipated (hard to keep up with the guide) we felt it was good value. If you want a quick taste of Pompeii and easy transfer from Sorrento this is your tour. If you want to wander the ruins in detail or visit the gift shops before leaving, it’s probably not for you.
Amazing trip , well organised and lovely coach and guide . Glad we took an early tour as became very hot by lunchtime .
we had a very experienced tour guide she was very informative and made sure she kept track of everyone , she took us to all the must see sights , would highly recommend this tour
Pompeii is so large and much of it is still being excavated. The guide took us through a large section of it and explained and showed us how the people of the time lived. I would highly recommend this tour.
The trip to Pompeii was well organised from the pick up from our hotel and information given on route to Pompeii by the guide on the bus. The guide who met us at Pompeii was very knowledgeable, friendly and the group size was just large enough to enjoy the experience
Tour guide at the location did a marvelous job. She was very informative and ensured our group was able to see things in a timely fashion. Driver was phenomenal!
An excellent tour in all aspects. From a friendly meeting in the centre of Sorrento on a comfortable coach from Paula and the sever Antonio to an amazing guide there at Pompei. Lives up to our expectations and more - would recommend for sure .
So amazing! Was more than I expected! Our Guide was very friendly and covered the highlights. They have excavated so much here, I had read about new finds and I got to see them!!
Everything was good 👍. We had a great time. Both guides were very good, nice and helpful. We definitely recommend this tour if you want to get a short but good first impression of Pompei. Michael
