Our trip to Italy as a family included stops in Rome, Naples, Ischia, Sorrento, and Positano. This full-day private tour with Antonio was, without a doubt, our favorite day of the entire vacation! Antonio took us off the beaten path from Sorrento to explore an amazing winery in Avellino, followed by stops at a prosciutto factory and a delicious local gelato shop. Every single stop felt authentic, engaging, and gave us a genuine taste of the region's rich culinary traditions away from the usual crowds. Antonio himself was the main reason this day was so unforgettable. He was knowledgeable, energetic, warm, and took fantastic care of our whole family from start to finish. If you are planning a trip to the region and want an exceptional, unique private tour, booking The Wine Bus Tour with Antonio is an absolute must!

Our cruise was originally scheduled to dock in Salerno. The evening before due to weather, we found out that we would not be able to make it in. I reached out to Gaetano and he worked his magic and arranged for us to be picked up at our new port. We had a fantastic day thanks to Antonio and the owners of the beautiful Urciuolo winery we visited. David and Caterina spoiled us with their delicious wines and food. We highly recommend this tour and a visit to this winery. Just a fabulous day that we will remember always.
We loved our private wine tour with Gaetano. It was the best part of our trip. He took us to two smaller wineries, and we got to hear directly from the winemakers what inspires them and how they think about their craft. It was wonderful to share a bottle with them and hear there stories. And Gaetano was an exceptional host/guide. This tour is a must for anyone who enjoys wine.
‘Guy’ was amazing and knew so much about the region, the wine and was able to make the whole experience amazing. Plus the wine - making h the wine. And the hospitality of the families who run the two wineries we visited. Between Guy and the folks we met I feel we made some friends for life. My wife and I would HIGHLY recommend this tour and getting to spend the day with Guy. When we come back (and I know we will since we threw a coin in the Trevi Fountain) this is the first thing we will book so Guy can introduce us to even more great Italian wine!!
This was one of my all time favorite days!! We spent the day touring and tasting at 2 wineries with Gaetano. Gaetano was engaging, charming and knowledgeable. We learned and laughed all day. The wineries were stunning and wine was amazing. It was so relaxed and unhurried. Please book this tour you won’t be be disappointed! It will forever be one of my favorite memories!!!
A two hour drive to grassy mountains with very good wines in beautiful cantinas. Very special for wine lovers w views and loads of tasting.
I high recommend this tour and it was the best wine tasting we have ever experienced. From start to finish, it was 5 stars! Gateno reached out the moment we booked asking when we want to leave and it did not stop there. Sonia, our guide for the day, was incredible and always went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. They all really care about giving you the best experience! And the wineries selected - could not ask for anything better. It was like wine tasting in our own kitchen. An awesome day all around. Highly recommend to do it - and you will leave the Amalfi coast with a great experience!
Both me and my wife had an awesome time. We enjoyed the wineries and felt like it's was our home, which we have never experienced before. Sonia our tour guide was incredible and has deep knowledge of wines which was very helpful. She always went the extra mile for us. I highly recommend this tour for couples who enjoy wine and want to experience the best wine tasting experience they have ever had.
Gaetano (Guy) made this our best excursion in Italy! First …months in advance he communicated making everything very easy. We spent the day hearing history and story’s of the region. He was so cheerful and full of energy! We enjoyed two winery’s . They were two family ran winery’s. We had amazing wine and food. We felt like family at both places. It was We have 2 cases being shipped and can’t wait to share them with friends and family! Thanks Gaetano!!!!!!
What a wonderful experience and Gaetano's stories, engagement and flexibility were great. We were picked up at our hotel in sorrento, but got on the road later than expected due to unusual traffic that morning. Nevertheless, Gaetano offered to continue or refund the trip at our call, but we still wanted to do the tour, and we are so glad we did! We went to two wineries, and both were wonderful experiences, but one was absolutely outstanding with greetings and food from the entire family owners. We did not want to leave, given the warmth, great conversations, outstanding wine and "mamas" authentic cooking. Needless to say we bought wine, olive oil and a dessert wine and had them shipped home. Gaetano stayed engaged and made each visit a great memory. He also clearly went above and beyond, later in the day than expected, given our late start. We returned to our hotel around 8-9pm, and Gaetano thoughtfully arranged for some pizza to be delivered to our hotel as we arrived back (knowing we had no other option, that evening.) Thank you so much Gaetano for an absolutely wonderful experience!
Great day tasting with two family owned boutique wineries Delicious wines obviously made with passion and presented in a very warm family environment Really hospitable environment, with great home made food from their own farms to accompany their own wines Gaetano chose very well, adapting to our needs, and was a great host for the day Look forward to coming back!
The Irpinia region of Italy has beautiful vineyards on mountainous hills. My guide was friendly and she also was a translator for the tour. The first vineyard was very classy. The host served delicious food and explained the various wines while I tasted them. It was a very quiet atmosphere in a sweet stone building with a beautiful view. The hosts at the second vineyard were fun to talk with. They sat at the table with me and we enjoyed food and wine together. Overall, the tour was good, however, I gave it 4 stars because I would have liked to hear more about the wine process from beginning to end. I like to hear the stories that go with the wine.
We were picked up in Sorrento at our hotel and taken to Iripinia wine country. Gaetano was our guide. This personal experience was above and beyond our expectations. We went to two wineries, sampled excellent wines and had a very nice lunch. Gaetano gave us an education of the region and the wines we tasted. He was not just informative, but also a pleasure to spend the day with. We sat with the owners of the wineries and took tours of their production areas. Plan on ordering some wine and maybe some olive oil at each location. I would highly recommend this tour if you enjoy good quality wine.
Wine tasting with Gaetano was certainly a privilege! We were greeted at our first winery with lunch, all fresh, local and personally prepared by the wine owner’s family. Though we’ve been wine tasting in other areas, this was our first time in the Irpinia region and it and Gaetano did not disappoint!! Already thinking about when we will return. Thank you!!!
Unlike any other wine tour I’ve been on. An incredible genuine and personal experience that left us feeling warm and deeply satisfied. Not for people looking for a large cellar door with a formal tasting, but for us this was so much more memorable.
loves the conversation with Guy and the various wineries. The rain was overshadowed by the great wines and food and kindness of the vineyard owners.
The first time I have visited wineries on holiday and it was a superb day that I would highly recommend. Our guide Sonia was fantastic and had excellent knowledge to share. The hosts at the wineries we visited were so welcoming and engaging. They shared their history and the wine and food was excellent. I would definitely do this trip again when next in Sorrento.
We had a great time. The ride along the coast and then in land as we headed to the winery was narrated along the way and that was just the beginning. A fabulous spread of food was provided at both wineries. We sampled three wines at both stops and could have as much as we wanted. Glad I wasn't driving 😁🍷🍷. The wines were all very good and one exceptional which we bought a case for shipment to US at very reasonable cost. Our guide was not just a driver, he knows his wine, the country side and the people at the wineries. We have taken wine tours in other countries and several in Napa but this one was the most fun. We had a great time connecting with the families as well as having great wine. We would do this trip again in a heartbeat.
Great wine tour! Sonia (guide) and Antonio (driver) are lovely people and the wines & food are great. Thank you for a memorable experience :)
A few days ago I did the wine tour with my boyfriend. We had the most amazing time, tried great wine with an exceptional host!! We visited two vineyards. There we got a tour of the wine making process and incredible meals accompanied by many glasses of wine. Gaetano raised the experience to the next level with his funny, generous and kind Italian persona. I highly highly recommend the trip! We enjoyed the tour so much that we are planning our next summer holiday around doing another one of his trips!!
Fabulous wine tour of Irpinia!! Gaetano was the best tour guide. Prompt, pleasant and full of information about our wine and the area we visited. We spent an entire day with him and were so sad when the day ended. You will be traveling with the best!!!! My husband and I feel that we made a friend for life!!!
Gaetano was a very warm and friendly tour guide. The food in the places that we visit was extremely delicious. We advise to everybody to visit wine tours with Gaetane.
Would give 10 stars if possible. Gaetano was such a hospitable and knowledgeable guide. He even went out of his way to help plan a proposal for my girlfriend! He arranged a beautiful event with cake, roses, and more. The family wineries were great and a nice refresher from the vineyards in California. We bought a bunch of wine and look forward to enjoying it back at home. Do yourself a favor and book this immediately!
We have been to quite a few wine tours and tasting - this one’s really fun, cozy and amazing ! Our guide cum owner of the tour business Gaetano ensured we had the best service with excellent generous tasting of wines to pair with the absolutely delicious cheeses and plates after plates of authentic local produce that were served. The boutique winery owners took pleasure to share the art and their passion for wine making. We had the delight of meeting and dining with some of their family members as well. Definitely a day we’ll spent and we strongly recommend this tour
Gaetano went out of his way to make this a memorable and unique experience, he even organized a surprise cake for my wife and me. Both family run wineries were excellent with great hospitality and food. The wines were well explained by the owners and we ended up buying some. This was a highlight of our trip!
Wonderful day. The host was amazing and the wine was wonderful. It was a truly memorable experience. The food prepared by the vineyards was as unique as the wine, very much complementing each other. I highly recommend the this tour.
Great hosts, excellent food and first class sommelier made for a truly memorable day out. The wines were fantastic, from small wineries who had real passion for their work
I organised this trip as part of a surprise holiday for my parents to mark their retirement. They said it was a fantastic private wine tour, much more personalised and interesting and less commercial than previous tours they had gone on. The vineyards owners were real artisan producers, and it was lovely homely atmosphere. They were so generous with their time and there was loads of amazing wine and food samples. The location was fabulous, in the heart of the real Italian countryside. The driver was very knowledgeable and kindly arranged a surprise cake for my parents to mark the occasion. Overall they would highly recommend this trip
First - we were picked up right from our hotel which was so easy and the driver Luigi was SO nice. He ended up bringing us to Gaetano’s (the owner/guide) a little outside of the city due to traffic but the transition was flawless. As a 3rd generation Italian (Villani) he recognized my name and immediately found my great grandfather and pinned exactly where he was from without me even telling him! His stories and knowledge were amazing. The first stop was Antico Castello, an absolutely wonderful family run winery set in stunning Italian countryside. Chiara was our hostess for the tour of the winery production unit, (which was wonderful because it’s wine season!) we then went up to their stunning tasting room were “mama” (Chiara’s mother) cooked fresh food right there in the kitchen for us, it was the best food being homemade! As we ate we got to taste all their family made wines - the best white wine was the Mida & the Taurasi reserve red wine- it was no wine I have ever tasted. We ended up buying a whole case and sending it home. Not readily available outside of Italy so grab a bottle if you can! Next we went to a pizzeria where we got to make and learn how to make our very own Pizza. A shop off the beaten path a bit with the owner himself. His name was Fofo. He was so nice, so welcoming. I can’t wait to try this back home! Lastly we finished the day with a larger winery named Villa Raiano. This was also family owned but much much larger. This was BEAUTIFUL. in fact I will be bringing the rest of my family back here when we return. Brunella the daughter of the owner, again got a tour of the production and the whole facility and then went onto the wine tasting. This place, the views, were breath taking. We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to this day. You can tell Gaetano has wonderful relationships with the places he tours for. Can’t say enough about this.
We had an absolutely amazing time on this tour. We were able to visit two fantastic wineries and enjoy incredible home cooked food at each one - eggplant parmean, cheeses, fig jam, pasta,, and the works! We learned so much about wine and toured the beautiful vineyards. Great way to see the Italian countryside and taste some amazing wine. Id highly recommend this tour!!

Fantastic time, made our honeymoon even more special. We would recommend this to anyone and do this again in the future.

What a fantastic tour! Gaetano gave us a unique experience and opportunity to learn about the wines and culture of the region. We visited two wineries, had generous tastings of many wines and so much delicious food. We even visited a small farm/cheese factory. We strongly recommend!!!

We booked this before going to Sorrento since we 4 people in total wanted to visit Winerys when we went to Italy. The expectations were very high and oh boy it was good.

Our driver Gaetano was very social and talkative. He was very fun to talk too and loved pleasing his customers.
We visited to different Wineries where we tested out 3 different wines. Before booking it said no lunch, but we got a lot of food during that day. After the last winery we visited a nice Ice-cream place on our way back which also was terrific.

Gaetano asked us if we wanted to do something more, like visit a cheese-factory, salami-factory etc but we didn't opt in for that since we were pretty tired after 7 hours on the road.

I would recommend this tour to anyone and even the reason for travelling to Sorrento.
