Private Argillarium Experience Ritus Otium – Consacratio 150 Min

1/5 stars — A luxury description attached to a deeply underwhelming experience My wife and I booked the Ritus Otium experience with a 60-minute couples massage. The communication beforehand was excellent, and the staff arranged paid transportation from our hotel. Unfortunately, the polished booking process created expectations that the actual experience came nowhere close to meeting. No robes. Cold, built-in clay benches. A warm foot bath with salt added and no disposable basin liner. I cannot speak to their cleaning procedures, but the presentation did nothing to inspire comfort or confidence. What followed felt less like a professionally delivered spa ritual and more like a do-it-yourself bathing circuit. We were handed bowls of clay to apply to our own bodies and faces, told to rinse off and use the steam room, and left for approximately 20 minutes. Next came soapy water to apply ourselves, a cold slab to lie on, and a wall switch to operate the overhead spray. Handing guests bowls and buckets and repeatedly telling them to apply things themselves does not, in my opinion, become a luxury treatment simply because it takes place in atmospheric, cave-like rooms. The surroundings were doing considerably more work than the service. The dry sauna was the best part. Then came tea, followed by what we hoped would finally justify the expense: the massage. It did not. There was no consultation about pressure, preferences, injuries, or areas requiring attention. For the next 60 minutes, the treatment felt like oil being spread over our bodies, with none of the purposeful pressure, technique, or individual attention we associate with a proper massage. We have experienced massages at excellent spas around the world and throughout the United States. This was among the most disappointing we have encountered. To be clear, the staff were kind. This is not a criticism of their personalities. It is a criticism of an expensive service whose delivery fell dramatically short of its presentation. We paid hundreds of euros expecting relaxation, skilled treatments, and attentive care. Instead, we left feeling we had paid premium prices to smear clay and soap on ourselves, move between water features, and finish with an hour-long application of oil. Traditional does not have to mean uncomfortable. A ritual should not be an excuse for minimal service. And a massage should involve substantially more than oil. Save your time and money. If you want a genuinely accomplished spa experience rather than an elaborate description of one, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Kind of a fun modern take on a Roman bath. Lots of watery, sauna type experiences to start then the massage. The massage was excellent and it was very interesting overall. Would recommend o. A rainy day on the Amalfi coast.

What a wonderful experience. The staff were fantastic and accommodating. The journey/experience developed and by the time we left, we were almost too relaxed to walk away.

This place is amazing and if you get the chance go. They provide a great service and the facility is amazing. Lovely people very generous and helpful.

The best way to end out 10 day trip to Rome and Amalfi! We chose the luxury experience that included the hot tub, Roman Bath, a few different showers, sauna, Prosecco, and the massage. The girls did a wonderful job! We had a hike through Path of the Gods yesterday so the massage was well deserved. We really enjoyed our time and definitely recommend this experience!

It was a rainy day in Amalfi and our hotel recommended this place. My husband and I really enjoyed it! When we got there we were led to separate lockers rooms given 2 towels (one for spa, one for shower, and flip flops. Bring or wear a bathing suit you don’t care to get dirty (but mud washes off easily). We were then joined together and started with the emotional showers. Emotional meaning the degree of water pressure, lol a light rain shower, a quick plunge and a more normal pressure shower. Then you go in the jacuzzi for a bit. The jets are not so strong but the temp is just right. From there we went to a steam room where you have body mud and face mud. They leave you there for a while to get the mud on and there’s a smaller steam room to sit and steam. After a while, someone comes to show you the next room where you wash everything off and then soap yourself, wash again. Then, a soapy bubble bucket and these sculptures spritz you with water to wash off the final soap. Then you are led to a dry sauna for a bit. Once done there, you get to choose from various teas and a few flavored cookies. Finally, the last step is the couples massage where they give you disposable underwear and a massage. The massage was nice and relaxing but not very strong. All in all it was a great couple of hours. It was well worth the visit!! We took the bus from Amalfi city center to Minori and got off at the first stop in Minori (we asked the driver). From the bus stop it was a 3 minute walk. After, we walked down to the sea and at the corner is a famous Italian pastry shop, Salvatore de Riso. We then decided to walk back to Amalfi along the coast, it was a 45 minute walk. There’s no side walk or shoulder really but we managed with the traffic and it was a nice scenic route.

Fantastic experience! We went there on our 3rd day of the honeymoon and it was more than we could have asked for! This place has a real charm and is worth the money!

Beautiful hidden gem. We had two days at the beach location of the spa. For a price of £20pp (weekdays) we had a secluded section of the beach, comfortable seating that was very spacious. There is a WhatsApp service for drinks. Included in this price you can use the toilets and showers. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Minori beach is beautiful. You will have a perfect relaxing day. For use of the jacuzzi’s I thinks it averages out £60pp.

Had a wonderful experience. I would love to go back again. The whole experience was fantastic. My husband and I completely enjoyed ourselves. Then we booked the beach spot with them afterward and the whole family had fun. No idea why some complained about the massage, it was perfectly fine, no it's not a deep tissue kind but it was completely relaxing and I totally enjoyed it. Great way to spend a morning or an afternoon.

Very relaxing and refreshing experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is more of a couples spa as it could be romantic at times. Just someplace exclusive for you and your significant other to get away and find some peace.

I was given by my girlfriend the Spa path with massage. Honestly, hands down, the worst spa course of my life. It's bad enough that it's driven, that doesn't relax. What's more, when the operators called or explained what needed to be done, they did it in a really high tone compared to those of a Spa. The route consists of little and nothing, a foot wash with "relaxing salt", unemotional showers, a whirlpool (not pool, bath!), mud and two showers with two different soaps. The second shower (the one where you lie down was also annoying actually). The massage seemed normal to me, without infamy and without praise, my girlfriend instead did not like it at all, considering it cold. They offered us an herbal tea in the relaxation area, without much choice and without possibility or question of in possible encore. We couldn't do any more than we did before. They manage so because the SPA is small and badly structured, if you cross more than 4 people you do not even move. I had the impression that it lasted even less than we should have stayed. Precisely I do not know how much my girlfriend spent but she made me realize that it was over 150€. For me honestly, as we have been, really, really too many.

Autumn holiday and rain with teenage girls. Then there was a spa for the whole family. An exciting experience for all of us. Relaxing and a pleasure. Good guidance through the spa, 30 min massage afterwards. Lovely!

Apart from the elegance of the place and the Welcoming shown by the staff, the place is rich in relaxing, innovative and really useful for a physical and mental regeneration. The final massage is revitalizing. In short, an excellent center for efficiency and professionalism.

Really an excellent Spa with a very varied and interesting wellness program. Me and my wife We were the first post covid guests inaugurating the summer season. Very nice clay experience as well as fragrant soaps, exceptional couple massage. The jacuzzi is also wonderful, too bad that you can stay there little time. Very kind and very prepared staff, lovely location. To return definitely. To be combined with overnight stay in the hotel.

I went to this spa with my girlfriend last Saturday after buying a package on Groupon that included the spa course with Roman bath. It was an absolutely comfortable experience, the environment is truly magical, attention to every detail, the staff makes you feel welcomed and at ease. The only flaw is that in the men's locker room there is only a bench to rest the various things after taking a shower, but both locker rooms have lockers to leave their belongings safe and also a very powerful hairdryer. We will definitely return to try the massage as well.

More than a review I recommend finding well-being in this spa, a place where you will feel particularly pampered both for the path and for the kindness and Savoir faire of the staff that, personally, I considered an added value to the same structure. I will definitely return!

Very suggestive location, cozy and clean, the peculiarity of the Spa is the Roman bath with three different soaps that make the skin smooth and fragrant, friendly and attentive staff, the only negative note the men's changing room is small.

My girlfriend and I chose this experience through the Smartbox, after being informed by friends and relatives about the quality of the wellness program offered. The expectations were average (never live an experience with too many expectations, whatever it is!), but the reality was a big surprise. Unfortunately I read about many reviews in which there are those who complain that the time of the route is modest (it is about two hours) and I absolutely disagree. It is a WELLNESS PATH, where you are literally accompanied by the hand through all the phases of the spa by very kind and capable girls. Clean environment, collected and intimate. Those who want to laze around in the pool or spa for hours and hours, even a whole day, effectively canceling the main function of a spa, certainly could not understand this experience. Also highly recommended the savonage. We will be back!

You forget about the passing of time. The structure is not very large but spotless and well maintained. But much of the credit must be given to the female workers. Everyone, from the reception to the treatments, good good good. Never intrusive, extremely professional, empathetic and helpful. The treatments (savonage, kassa glove with black soap) were also nice.

On 6/1 I was at this wonderful Spa, located right in the center of the beautiful Minori, in a “couple” with my mom. We combined the proposed route (Roman bath with savonage, whirlpool, foot bath, emotional shower, herbal tea and sauna) with a half-hour massage and we were both very satisfied, both with the very high quality of Service offered and the kindness and professionalism of the operators. I would also like to say that the next morning my mother and I realized that our skin was very smooth - even on the elbows, where we both suffer from a slight psoriasis, which Processing has unexpectedly attenuated. In short, an experience to repeat!

Great spa. Superb Welcoming 4 girls who take turns guiding you to the various routes dictating the timing but remaining discreet and non-invasive. Take some time for yourself and relax. Try the heated sunbed with essential oil and stones

The wellness path was a wonderful discovery. The spa is well maintained from the reception. Polite and knowledgeable staff that guides you throughout the entire route. Unforgettable Processing in the teepidarium, calidarium and frigidarium with excellent products. Experience recommended and to be repeated.
