Roberto the tour guide and Alfredo the driver were very friendly. Roberto was very knowledgeable and funny! The boat experience in Almafi was an added bonus! We’d do this excursion again!

Itinerary
Meet your guide at Iamme Ia! - Gray Line Amalfi Coast Office
Experience a breathtaking drive along the Amalfi Coast Road, widely considered one of the most beautiful coastal routes in the world. As our professional driver navigates the dramatic cliffs and winding curves, you’ll enjoy unparalleled views of the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea.
Gaze out at the enchanting Li Galli archipelago, a cluster of tiny private islands steeped in Greek mythology. Known as the legendary home of the Sirens who once tempted Ulysses, these emerald jewels rising from the sea offer one of the most iconic views of the coast. Your guide will share the fascinating stories and celebrity history linked to this mysterious corner of paradise.
Arrive in Positano, the 'Vertical City' famous for its colorful houses clinging to the mountainside. After a brief guided walking tour through the charming, narrow alleys, you will have ample free time to explore the city at your own pace
Visit on your free time this iconic landmark to admire its stunning majolica-tiled dome and the Byzantine Madonna.
Take a stroll along the famous pebbled shore, the social heart of Positano, perfect for photos or a refreshing dip.
To conclude your Positano experience, we’ll leave the crowds behind and board a boat to Amalfi. This scenic ferry ride offers the best perspective of the coast—seeing the colorful villages from the sea is a perspective most travelers miss! (Shared group option only)
Step ashore in Amalfi, the historic heart of the coast and once a powerful Maritime Republic. Wander through its labyrinth of medieval alleys and sun-drenched plazas. You’ll have time to explore the city's rich heritage, from its ancient paper-making traditions to the vibrant shops lining the main street, all while surrounded by the dramatic limestone cliffs that embrace the town.
Dominating the main square is the magnificent Amalfi Cathedral (Duomo di Sant'Andrea). Marvel at its iconic monumental staircase and the stunning 19th-century mosaic facade that glitters in the sun. This architectural masterpiece features a unique blend of Moorish and Romanesque styles—don’t miss the chance to see the Cloister of Paradise and the crypt dedicated to St. Andrew.
After exploring the wonders of Amalfi, we’ll board the bus once again and wind our way up the hillside. Get ready to reach Ravello, a sophisticated retreat perched high above the sea, far from the bustling coastal crowds. Known as the 'City of Music,' this peaceful hilltop village is world-famous for its lush gardens and aristocratic villas.
Ravello is a sanctuary of Mediterranean beauty, characterized by its quiet luxury and impeccable architecture. Beyond the famous vistas, the town invites you to explore its Romanesque treasures and hidden garden paths lined with fragrant jasmine and bougainvillea. It is the ultimate destination for those seeking a peaceful corner of paradise and a true taste of the Italian 'Dolce Vita'.
During your free time in Ravello, we highly recommend a visit to Villa Rufolo. Its breathtaking terrace offers what many consider the most spectacular panoramic view over the entire Gulf of Salerno.
As the afternoon winds down, relax on a scenic drive back to Sorrento. Sit back and enjoy the final coastal views from the comfort of your air-conditioned coach, reflecting on a day filled with the history, colors, and unforgettable landscapes of the Amalfi Coast.

We had the most magical day with Luca and would highly recommend this Almalfi Coast private tour. We even had lunch in the most gorgeous spot. This tour has definitely been a highlight of our trip!
Roberto, our guide was AMAZING! He really cared about our group! He made sure we all were good and had a good time. Their driver Alfredo, was AMAZING as well. His driving was smooth, especially going through all those tough curves. I usually get nauseous. But not this time. We all ENJOYED this tour!! Thank you guys!!
Originally when we booked, the Viator ad said it was a tour with 8 people. But when we arrived at the meeting place it was 20 people. Other people were mislead also. Otherwise, it was a nice guided tour. Roberto was funny.
This was a driver tour of the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento and back. Alex our driver expertly drove us through the winding narrow roads of the beautiful Amalfi Coast. He dropped us off for a couple of hours at each of three cities, first Positano, then Ravello, and finally Amalfi. All three cities are of course lovely, but Alex wisely juggled the usual expected order so that we could enjoy a leisurely meal and spend more of our limited time in the calmer and less commercial atmosphere of Ravello rather than in the more touristy and smaller Amalfi. Our driver was informative and eagerly engaged in conversation. He pointed out sites along the way that we would never have appreciated. All in all, a lovely, lively and educational one-day experience on the Amalfi Coast. Highly recommended!
This was great way to see the coast without the hassle of transportation, crazy roads, and planning. We learned so much about the history and the people. The day did feel a little rushed but we saw so much it was worth it. Our guide Luchio was great and our driver Andrea kept us safe! We really enjoyed our day with them! I have always wanted to see this area, Positano was my fave but loved the low key vibes of Ravello.
Gentle day trip which included a boat trip and an optional extra boat trip along the Amalfi Coast. Beautiful scenery and weather without crowds in late October. Nello was a great guide. Calm but in control.
Highly recommended. Make it a lot easier to visit 3 places
Roberto was a fantastic tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and ensured the day went smoothly, keeping us informed throughout. He was full of joy and kept us entertained for the duration of the day.
This was a wonderful day out - learning exploring and shopping…. Relaxed atmosphere.. NELLO our guide was knowledgeable and charismatic- He was fluent in 4 languages… great day great weather. A must do from Sorrento.
The best way to visit these amazing cities. Our guide, Nello, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, funny, and entertaining, and he’s a Sorrento native. It felt nice to be shown around by a local with a passion for his culture and history
The Amalfi Coast is stunning and it was lovely to see. However Too much time was spent in Amalfi and nowhere near enough time allowed in Ravello which was by far the best of the three towns; sadly not even enough time for a coffee. The worst part of the trip was the minibus which, apart from being very bumpy, was extremely cramped with no legroom. Too many seats have been put in the minibuses at the expense of comfort, so if you choose this tour, try to choose one of the single seats which have slightly more legroom than the double seats. But there are only 4 or 5 so you need to be quick on the bus.
Our guide had excellent English and the day was not rushed whatsoever. We had ample time to eat, drink, shop and take pics. The optional boat trip (15 euros) was also good value for money and entertaining. The coastline was gorgeous and I would highly recommend this trip.
Roberto was an excellent guide!! We had a wonderful time visiting Positano, Amalfi and Ravello! He was great at checking in with everyone and being very clear about meeting times and locations when we had free time to explore. Alfredo was an amazing driver!! Those
Incredible experience. I truly appreciate the effort and experience of Roberto my guide and felt very safe with Alfredo our driver around the windy roads! Highly recommend booking this experience

Make sure you have good shoes as tgere is lots to explore and lots of walking. A beautiful area to see even on a rainy day and lots of great food and some wonderful stores for gifts or just something small for great memories. Definitely recommend Vittorio’s family limoncello store where they still make it by hand in the traditional way. He is just off the main square behind an ice cream store and from there you can get a great view if the duomo. Positano is an amazing sight where the houses seem to drip down the cliffs
I had a wonderful trip with our friends. The guy was knowledgable and entertaining.
Roberto our guide was excellent. Full of energy and enthusiasm.
The Amalfi Coast is beautiful and a must-see. Roberto is knowledgeable and humerous, a very personable tour guide. However, these coastal towns are tough to explore because you can't walk around due to the topography and you aren't there long enough except to take a quick stroll along the flat shoreline or to grab a bite to eat. If you really want to see these towns and you don't mind hills, you should spend a few days in one of them. Otherwise, they are best explored by boat which was part of our tour. Robbie also gave us the option for a private boat ride during free time which most people chose to take.
Our guide was a cheap salesman. A tour included a ferry boat ride from Amalfi to Positano. But Roberto insisted we wouldn't be able to see anything from the ferry boat and repeatedly suggested we get the add on boat ride during our Positano stop - guess what? It was exactly the same as the ferry. Then, he kept recommending that we eat at the restaurant of his recommendation in Positano "because we'd never get a table anywhere else." He told us we would each have to order something - which we did. However, my husband was told that the dessert he wanted wasn't expensive enough and he had to order something else. Between the redundant boat ride and eating at his friends' restaurant, that ate up all our time on Positano. During the whole tour, he kept telling us to hold all our shopping until we got to Ravenna because the price were better (they were not - same or higher) and they offered free shipping (ONE place offered free shipping - the on owned by his friend.) Each of the stops were quaint villages that you'd expect, but our whole experience was spoiled by Roberto being a huckster and trying to earn extra commissions & directing sales toward his friends.
Tour guide was very informative. Wish we had more time but understand that this tour is already 8+ hours. Optional boat ride we took from Amalfi was great. Whole experience was great
The tour guide and driver did superb job. The only pity was we had a bad weather but the tour was worth going and we had free time in all three towns which was great! The tour guide was very pleasant and helpful.
Informative tour. Our guide,Sergio, was engaging and helpful. A terrific first experience in the Amalfi Coast.
Roberto was a very good guide and answered all.our questions. Bus was comfortable and driver was obviously very experienced. The towns we went to were beautiful and it was nice having free time to wander around ourselves. I would certainly recommend this trip for anyone not wanting to drive themselves
The trip was exactly as described. Our tour guide gave us a lot of information and made sure everyone knew where to meet and the time at every stop. He gave us a quick walking tour at each stop of the main sites.
We had a very scenic ride from Sorrento to Positano. Would have liked a bit more time to explore there on our own before heading by boat to Amalfi. It was quite crowded there, and not what we were expecting. The next stop was Ravello, which we were promised was a quieter town with better shopping because the prices were much lower. We found that many shops were closed because it was nearing the end of tourist season, and prices were no different here than in Positano or Amalfi. We did enjoy some delicious gelato though! Our bus ride back to Sorrento was delayed by protestors, so what should have been an hour or so ended up being over 2 hours. Nothing that anyone could control, but glad we didn’t have anything scheduled post tour that we needed to be back for!
A great day! The sights and areas we saw were all beautiful. Roberto was an excellent tour guide and provided us with a day to remember!
It’s a brilliant way to see the beauty of the amalfi coast with a very knowledgeable tour guide and a driver that can negotiate the very tight corners on route 163 ! You must do this tour before you leave as it’s the perfect way to see the beautiful places enroute
Danilo was fun and had a lot of information pertaining to the locations we were at. However, the “tour” felt more like a shuttle to each city without a proper tour of the places. Furthermore, a tour settling an additional boat tour, costing extra money, rubbed me the wrong way. I pay for the tour, why should i pay for the extra boat activity in cash only?
Excellent spent exploring Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. Small tour which is a must. Thoroughly enjoyable day, Would recommend.
Sergio was an excellent guide. Good background on area and tips for on own time. Only downside was a bit limited on on own time, though that would have extended tour by another 2plus hours to allow additional exploration.
Amazing tour, felt like enough time for each place but kind of felt like we had to do the optional boat tour in amalfi but we didn’t complain since it was just 15 euros per person and beautiful views. Sergio was very attentive to everyone in our group and kept us happy and made fun jokes. Overall would recommend this tour to anyone. Lello the bus driver was also a chill guy :)
Danilo was a very informative, patient guide. Alfredo was a very safe driver. We really enjoyed the day.
My husband and I loved this tour. Our tour guide, Sergio, was informative and funny. It was the perfect amount of time to see all three villages.
Firstly, our tour was marred by difficult weather. Our tour guide worked really hard to ensure we could still enjoy a boat tour even though it meant finding a covered boat, which we appreciated. Logistically this affected the tour but between the guide and the driver everything went mostly smoothly. Our guide was silly and personable. We enjoyed all the towns but particularly liked Ravello and were glad that the tour included extra time for this. Overall we recommend and suggest aiming for a sunny day.
We had an amazing time on this tour! Danilo took great care of us guiding us through the towns and shout out to Nello, our driver, for navigating the roads on the beautiful Amalfi coast! This tour is a wonderful way to get a taste of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. The bus was very comfortable. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed seeing the three towns for the day while staying in Sorrento. Lots of beautiful sites. The extra boat ride along the coast of Amalfie was very special.
It was excellent. The tour took us to Positano, Amalfi & Ravello. All the towns are super pretty. But ridiculously expensive
Easy to book online. An interesting and insightful tour. Guide was great. Van/bus driver was very skilled.
Our tour guide (Max) was fantastic! His English was better than most native English speakers, he has a great sense of humor, and he helped us navigate and pivot plans because it was POURING rain in both Positano and Amalfi. I think the tour would be better with just two stops - do either Positano/Amalfi or Positano/Ravello - but I understand people want to cram as much in as possible.
Roberto is great guide humorous and fun. The extra boat trip is well worth it. A fun day with plenty to see and the bus trip offers great views
Great itinery well worth the money. Roberto was very knowledgeable and a fantastic tour guide great sense of humour. 👍
Really lovely day, would have liked a bit more time in these beautiful places to explore … absolutely stunning though and would definitely recommend…
Get to see three spots in one day. Spent just the right amount of time in each spot to get the right feel for each . Nello was a great driver and Daniello was very entertaining. He also showed great compassion to an older tourist who had trouble getting around. He was very caring to her. He is definitely an assist for your company.
I loved that this tour was a good mix of providing historical information and allowing us to freely wander at our own leisure. Some reviewers may say that the time allotted is too short, but each stop is such a small town that I am not sure what we would do if we stayed longer. We were able to fit in a museum visit, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the scenery in the given time. Due to the ferries being cancelled, we weren't able to ride the boat and I wished they gave us a refund for that portion of it instead of pocketing it.
Marianna and Alfredo (driver) were great! We loved the tour even if the weather didn’t cooperate!!!!
What an incredible tour! Danilo was our guide, and he was very funny, personable and knowledgeable! Our driver Paulo was incredible at navigating those crazy roads…We felt completely safe with him at the wheel. Each place we stopped at was breathtaking! For first-timers, this was definitely a great way to see as much as possible in one day!
A very busy and quick day to see the highlights of this beautiful area. Don’t pass this tour up if you want a glimpse of what this area has to offer.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable, did a great job of explaining everything and keeping everyone together. It was a nice tour, with beautiful stops, and scenery. There was an optional boat ride, in which everyone participated in, which sailed across the coast, which was nice and scenic. The reason I gave it 4 stars was due to the fact that we did not have much time at each location, and it seemed rushed. It seemed that once we were at a location, the guide gave us the guided educational portion of the walking tour, then set us free for approximately 30-50 minutes. We then felt stressed to get back to the meeting point on time. Perhaps less stops with more time at each location would allow for an opportunity to explore the location better. Too much on the agenda overall for a one-day tour.
