Wear good shoes for walking, our guide made our visit interesting but with the number of people on the tour and other tour groups it was difficult to hear at times. Lunch provided was fabulous at a family winery close by and we enjoyed chatting with the others in our group.

The ruins of Pompeii are a vast archaeological site in the southern Campania region, near the coast of the Gulf of Naples. Once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under meters of ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The preserved site features remain of excavated streets and houses that visitors can freely explore.
The Civil Forum represents the center of the daily life of the city, all the main public buildings for the administration of the city and justice, for the management of business, for commercial activities, such as markets, overlook it, in addition to the main places of city worship.
The Temple of Jupiter dominates the northern side of the Forum. With the three cult statues of Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, which imitated those of the Capitolium in Rome, placed on a high base, so as to make them visible to those passing through the Forum square.
The Macellum consists of a tuff Quadri-porticus with a hall for worship in an elevated position on the eastern side, in line with the entrance. The Macellum of Pompeii was nothing more than the city market where people could buy food.
Via dell'Abbondanza is one of the main streets of the ancient city of Pompeii, in Campania, which connected the Forum with the Amphitheatre.
The Stabian Baths are an ancient Roman bathing complex in Pompeii, Italy, the oldest and the largest of the five public baths in the city.
The brothel of Pompeii, with its erotic paintings. The prostitutes in the brothel were mostly Greek and Oriental slaves.
In the Large Theatre they represented comedies and tragedies of Greek-Roman tradition. The theatre was the first large public building completely freed from the deposits of the eruption.

This was an amazing experience that delivered everything we asked for. Our driver was knowledgable and friendly, and our guide Fabrizio met us right at the entrance and gave us a very exclusive tour. He was very up to date on recent findings and even took us into areas where few tourists bother to go (the area about archeo-botany for example, which has played a large role in adjusting the time of year that the eruption occurred). It was great being alone with our guide (only three of us total) so we could duck away from the crowds and see things largely alone. All in all a most memorable experience and we highly recommend it!
Well organised and informative tour which ensures you get the best out of a day at Pompeii. Bit disappointed with the lunch, the location was nice and people very friendly, but not a lot to see and the food was pretty basic.
BuyYourTour did an excellent job accommodating my family for a tour of Pompeii. On time and well organized
Great service, got us to where we wanted to go.
Great Mercedes Transport to and from Sorrento , informed guide who gave just the right level of information and lunch in a beautiful vineyard with wine tasting. Perfect way to do it. Take a hat and lots of cold water and sunscreen. There is little shade at Pompei. Don’t be tempted to do Herculaneum on the same day. Avoid the cameo sales pitch and get a cold drink instead!
We really had an amazing time visiting Pompeii.
We had a family of four with a 9 year old child and 76 year old senior. Our family did the Pompeii tour and lunch. The tour was very informative, the guide was fantastic. The group is relatively small. The headsets helped a lot. The lunch was at a charming winery to end our trip. It was perfect for a family half day trip.
The whole excursion was amazing! Everything was one time and organized wonderfully. The olive oil at the vineyard was so good we bought a few bottles to go home with too.
Enjoyed the history behind Pompeii and the guide Alesia was fantastic. The food and wine made the experience perfect.
We enjoyed our trip and the guide was well educated in Pompeii. I’m glad we had a guide to understand the city. The 4 hour tour was the perfect time to spend in the city.
A visit to Pompei is a must. If you want to have a good experience go with a small group with an experienced guide. If you want to have a stressless trip use a tour company that provides transport and an onboard guide. To top off the experience and make it memorable a visit to a winery with lunch and wine tastings makes this a must do. Make your trip truly memorable and use this company.
I went with my husband as part of our honeymoon. It was one of the hottest days and there was just a fire at Vesuvius a few days prior so Rosa reached out for us to have our trip refunded and changed to this experience. It was wonderful. We thought our driver was excellent and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating of the heat. She kept us in the shade as much as possible and answered all of our questions. What a lovely experience.
Pompei was so interesting, our guide was very knowledgeable. They give you an ear piece and radio so you can still hear the guide even if you are dawdling a bit behind! There's lots to see, and it was a quick tour, you could spend days there if you wanted to see everything in detail, but 2 hours in 30 degrees heat was just about right. Followed by a traditional Italian lunch and wine tasting at a vineyard. In the foot of mt vesuvius. Air con transportation there and back. Was a great trio, good value, and nothing to fault 😊
Great experience, our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful and everything run smoothly all day from transport, to pompeii and the food and wine experience 😀 gav and lou
Our Pompeii experience was amazing. The guide was soo informative, personable and professional. It was really crowded and chaotic at the main gates the day we were there. We were grateful for the express skip the line entrance which gave us more time to enjoy the ruins. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend. Five ⭐️
Oh my recent trip to Italy I had the pleasure of doing the Pompeii tour with buyyourtour. our tour guide was wonderful and engaging very knowledgeable very patient and willing to answer any and all questions experience was top notch. The lunch was delicious and the scenery breathtaking, I I would highly recommend taking this tour if you have the opportunity while visiting Italy, you won’t be disappointed. just make sure to leave the flip-flops at home wear comfortable shoes or you’ll be sorry-)
Our tour guide for the pompei portion of this tour was very experienced and knowledgeable. I definitely would not have known my way around/what I was looking at if I’d gone to pompei without a guide. However, we only had less than 15 minutes of free time to explore the ruins (excluding the actual tour with the guide). There was FAR more to see in the city of Pompei and nobody in our tour group wanted to leave, but we were told (and I quote) “Do not stop on our way out, keep moving”. I think I could have stayed another 30min-1 hour at least. This is an expensive excursion and because of this it almost felt not worth it. However, lunch was lovely as was Vesuvio, so I would still do it again. Just wish it hadn’t have been so rushed.
Had been to Pompeii 20 years ago,but it rained the entire time. So, we finally made it back. The tour was very different in that there were things I wanted to see again, but the quide did not take us there, ie murals . 95% of this tour was outside. We only saw a few of he unfortunate souls who lost their lives, instead of the the many I remember. The quide was Italian & some of us felt she was hard to understand & catered more to the very few Italians that were in our group. E
Fantastic guide in Paola throughout the day and excellent tour around Pompeii which was just the right length to keep everyone interested. My son left his sunglasses at a market stall. Paola went above and beyond to not only track them down but then send back to us in the U.K. What a superstar you are Paola!
Great service, friendly staff and a great way to see Pompei with a guide and get great insights. Skip the lines and a nice lunch and wine included !
Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. We went a very nice route and learned fighting mass in the 2 hours
The tour went very well, the visit to Pompeii was very interesting also thanks to the guide Enza and Vesuvius a spectacular view. Wine tasting and lunch are also very welcome. We would definitely recommend the experience.
