Excellent day trip from Sorrento to Pompeii and Vesuvius. Amazing tour guide Frankie made Pompeii come to life. Fantastic views from the top of Mount Vesuvius

They pick you up right at your hotel. Super convenient. Frankie was our tour guide. Very knowledgeable, well spoken, and had a great sense of humor... he was a character. Touring Pompeii was incredible, but Frankie made it better. The driver Enzo was great too. He got us to Vesuvius very efficiently. He was very nice and helpful. The views at the top of Vesuvius of the whole region are incredible. A+ experience overall.

I had a great time! I have wanted to see Palm Bay as long as I have known about it. It did not disappoint! One of the definite highlights of the day was our fantastic tour guide, Frankie. He was engaging and fun and extremely knowledgeable. He really looked at us as individuals, not just a group. He answered all questions expertly. He had the greatest attitude of any tour guide I’ve had, I think. I will never forget before each time we would move to a new location, he would say, “follow Frankie!” I would highly recommend the tour and if at all possible try to “Follow Frankie!”

Frankie was an expert guide and Enzo, an excellent driver.

What an amazing discovery day! Pompeii: Excellent guide, Sasa, had our best interests at heart (don’t waste your time in lines!) and ensured we had the best possible experience. Very knowledgeable, clear and humour thrown in! (Great way to remember things!) Vesuvius: Excellent experience with exercise thrown in. Breathtaking views across the region and humbling to be so small on such an enormous mountain! Transport is next level and runs like a well-oiled machine. Pompeii was a great experience, our guide Frankie was knowledgeable and comical when necessary. Mt Vesuvius experience was different , we were left to our own devices. We had 70 minutes., to climb to the top and back down. Quite exhausting, but glad we did it.

So glad we chose this small group tour. The organisation through Enjoy Pompeii was seamless. We were collected from our Hotel in a very comfortable new air conditioned vehicle which took 8 of us from Sorrento to Pompeii. Greeted by a coordinator there we were allocated to our guide Frankie who was absolutely superb. He imparted knowledge in a clear captivating and humorous way and took care to ensure that everyone got the most out of the experience. Can’t praise him enough! Also having an early start meant that it wasn’t so busy. After a short comfort break with chance for lunch and drinks at the cafe we were similarly transported to Vesuvius. Although we didn’t make it to the top due to insufficient time being available (75 minutes) before the transport returned to collect us we enjoyed the drive through the countryside and the amazing views. The cafe there was quite basic with little seating availability. Would advise walking poles as the path is very gravelly. Altogether an excellent trip. Excellent drivers and on time. Would definitely recommend.

I excellent experience. Impossible to see all in a day but our guide Angelo did an excellent job getting us to key sites with very little crowds. His knowledge and ability to share was top notch. Highly recommend

Great day out from Sorrento! We arrived at Pompeii at mid morning, we were told that due to the weather forecast it would be recommended that we go to Vesuvius first so that we get better views and don’t get rained on. Then we were driven over to Vesuvius, the views were incredible! Very grateful they moved the climb to the morning! We were given about an 1 hour 15 minutes to walk to the top and back down, potentially needed 15 more minutes as we had to stop for breaks on the way up, but we also did have a bit of time at the bottom as we didn’t want to be late for the driver. We were then driven back to Pompeii and had some time to have lunch (we brought our own) we then met our tour guide Sasa, he recognised us from the morning which was nice! The tour of Pompeii was very good! Very informative, he also gave us some time to take pictures and take in the sights. We learnt a lot and had a lot of fun, he got everyone involved, didn’t just talk at us! Had us guessing what the buildings and rooms were. Would highly recommend doing this if you are in Naples/Sorrento! Our tour guide definitely made the experience what it was, and would recommend doing a tour rather than taking yourself round as you learn so much!

The experience itself was great. They picked us up where we were staying, our tour guide, Frankie, was really good. Then we went to Vesuvius. The views were good. Glad we did this tour. The only concern was communication. They spoke English but they did not explain to you what happens at each stage of the tour. Several in our group were confused and figured it out. But communication about each step, where to go, and what was happening, could have been a lot better.

Guides probably makes all the difference but Sasha was our guide and he was excellent. So much to learn about Pompeii. The walk up the volcano was cold and windy on our day so check the weather and prepare for the cold, but worth the trek.

Angelo was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We had the best time learning about Pompeii!

The guide provided great information and shared what the day to day living looked like in Pompeii We toured a large wealthy home framework of stone As well as smaller homes and businesses and the town forum.

Knowledgeable, entertaining guide. Sasa had good English and was timely and organized. 15 people. Enjoyed it. Vesuvius was fun but beware, it is a steady steep climb (l60 degree incline the entire way. Spectacular views of Naples and the bay. the transportation transfers felt chaotic and the drivers were confused a bit even though it worked out fine. Antonio was great as the master coordinator of drivers

Salvatore was a wonderful guide. He is knowledgeable shares so many important facts and is funny and kind. Entire tour is such a great day. Amazing to walk to the top of mt Vesuvius

Very informative tour of Pompeii! Angelo was so knowledgeable and really interacted with our group. Be prepared to walk/climb when visiting Vesuvius. A moderate level of fitness and comfortable shoes are a must!

This excursion included a 2-hour guided tour of Pompeii by Frankie, a terrific guide whose catch phrase is "follow Frankie!", and who expertly led us around Pompeii. It also included a drive to Mount Vesuvius, from which we hiked (it truly is a hike) to the summit to see the crater. The views were incredible! The drivers to Pompeii, Vesuvius, and back to Sorrento easily navigated roads with switchbacks and high traffic. It was a fabulous tour that we will long remember.

I would like to say that Frankie gets 10 stars for his incredible guide through Pompeii! We loved the tour, loved all the insights he gave us and we could not have asked for more! I couldn’t give the whole excursion 5 stars though because we only had 1 hour at Vesuvius, which was not enough time for us to get to the peak - we were not given any information during the day that we won’t have any time for lunch, so by the time we got to Vesuvius at 1pm we could either have a quick lunch and get to the half way point (which is what we did) or not eat at all until 4pm and pretty much sprint up the mountain. Not enough time, they should have let us know to grab some food before we went out or allow us 2 hours at Vesuvius instead of 1.

Frankie the tour guide at Pompeii was fantastico! Very knowledgeable and fun! Made the tour both interesting and enjoyable!

This was my poorest Viator tour experience. Our guide Sasa was great, but it was raining and some guests were poorly prepared for the experience in the rain so we had to cut our tour a little short. Guest should be advised to wear sturdy shoes and bring a rain jacket and umbrella. We also.spent probably four hours in transit or waiting for only 90 minutes or less of touring. One other thing was that they changed the pickup time and place with less than 12 hours notice which was difficult for us because we had already arranged transit to our pickup point and had to scramble at the end to make it on time. Not blaming the rain on the tour company, but overall after 4-5 good Viator experiences, this was the least satisfactory.

We had a great tour experience with Frankie! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. We came 2 years ago and this time we were able to see more of Pompeii. Mount Versuvio is amazing but be prepared for a very steep climb. Paolo was our driver and he was great too.

Overall well organized, on time , great experience! Sasa was an excellent tour guide who was a wealth of knowledge! Loved his humour and how he got us all engaged! Thanks for always trying to find us some shade😊

The tour was well organized and punctual. Our tour guide in Pompeii, Frankie, was knowledgeable and very fun with a lot of “Italian”charm. Our driver Paulo was courteous and on time. I would highly recommend this tour.

It is an interesting and educational tour. I have gone twice. Each tour was different. I saw different areas and learned new facts. Be prepared to walk over steps and uneven ground. It may not be for everyone especially babies and anyone with mobility issues.

The line gets long, skipping the line was a lifesaver. 2 hours in a museum is generally my limit, so this guided tour was perfect for me as it touched all the major highlights.

Fantastic all around experience. From the transfers to our Pompeii guide, Sasa, it was a wonderful experience. This was my second time to both Pompeii and Vesuvius and I was so impressed and delighted by Sasa's knowledge and sheer enthusiasm. I could not recommend him more. Coming in February the lack of crowds made the experience that much more enjoyable. Vesuvius was so wonderful. On my last visit I was under the weather and the ascent was a struggle. This time is was easy and breathtaking.

This is a must see! Such incredible history and very exciting to experience these special places.! Our tour guide was excellent as well.

The tour guide to Pompeii was good,but we felt that we could have seen more. We skipped a lot of things including the book shop in the end. He kept saying that we avoided the crowd...but the reality was that we skipped a lot of things . Then, the trip to Vesuvius was fine,bit again we were rushed to climb to the crater and come back down in less than an hour.The driver did not speak any English and we were all a bit confused what to do. We were back about an hour later than the scheduled time.We spent more time waiting for the transport organisation than sightseeing.

Sasa our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. Our transfer from Sorrento and back was a blessing, we did not have to check train and bus times to get to the point of meeting on time. It was an interesting tour of Pompeii and I strongly recommend using Viator for this.

We enjoyed Sasa's perspective on city life in Pompeii. He engaged everyone in the group and helped us relate to what it was like living in the city in its final years.

Pompeii is unbelievable. How everything was frozen in time from the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

Excellent guide at the ruins. Vesuvius about a 20 minute walk up the hill to the edge of the crater from where you are left off. Fun to see. Downside: tour company doing transportation a total mess. You’d think small private shuttle sounds straightforwardly easy, right? What a mess of who in which van waiting for a long time for others not on the outbound. Nobody actually knew. Was a 3 hour trip back to Sorrento. They even sent an initial text on WhatsApp. Only I don’t have WhatsApp, nor did I know to install it ahead of time. Very on-brand for this tour company.

It was a great experience to be able to see the ruins of Pompeii. The guide was very knowledgeable. My imagination went wild, thinking about what it was like to be alive in that time frame. I highly recommend this!

Frankie was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting and funny. He made sure we were comfortable and got through the exhibits before the crowds got there. I would highly recommend Frankie as a tour guide for Pompeii tour. The hike to the top of Mt. Vesuvius was also worth it. It's definitely aoderately intense hike but the trip to the top was worth it. Great views of Napoli.

Pompeii was simply amazing. The scope and scale of this city was incredible and to see what Vesuvius accomplished in 18 hours is overwhelming. Our guide, SASA was incredible!
