The whole day was excellent! With comfortable transfers and smooth handovers between activities, it was a delight to have everything taken care of for us. The tour around Pompei and the wine tasting were both done by extremely knowledgable guides with good English, and the hike up Vesuvius was worthwhile for the views! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the full day of activities or the tour company - everything was just as we had hoped.

The hike up Vesuvius is strenuous but the view at the top was amazing. Frankie our tour guide at Pompeii was fantastic! He made our experience so worthwhile!!! The winery was beautiful with delicious food and wine.
The hike up to the Mt Vesuvius crater was a bit strenuous as we had a limited time to get to the top and back down, so was no leisurely stroll. Well worth the effort, though. The crater was interesting to see, and the view of Naples and the bay were amazing. It would've been nice if our driver uo to Vesuvius had given us some history or information, but he didn't have much to say. The small group tour of Pompeii was fascinating and informative. Our guide was knowledgable as well as entertaining. This part exceeded my expectations as it was so much more than just the ruins I expected. The trip to the winery was a bit less than expected. There was no wine tasting, just a meal with wine. The meal was fine, but not anything exceptional. We were given a tour of the grounds and facility which would have been nice on it's own if that's what we'd been expecting. However, after a day of climbing Mt Vesuvius and touring Pompeii, we were just ready to sit and have some wine. We were a bit tired to enjoy touring a vineyard & winery.
A must do! Visiting Pompeii with a guided tour is the absolute best way to see this historic area. Our guide Frankie was knowledgeable & entertaining… he truly brought the history to life. Absolutely 5 stars!
In a day that was outstanding, Sasa our Pompeii tour guide was over and beyond the very best! He was super knowledgeable and fantastically engaging. The hike to the very top of Mt Vesuvio was very uphill and very awesome. The lunch + wine tasting was a delicious way to sit and reminisce over our incredible day. My whole family aged 14 - 54 loved the whole day!
A great tour to see key spots in Pompeii, see Mount Vesuvio and enjoy local wine tasting and lunch. My friend and I had a wonderful time.
When there is a change in pick-up time, it is not reflected through the Viator app., There was a discrepancy with Tour Pompeii and the rudeness of the manager. Not everyone has good reception. However, the drivers and guides were great and the experience was fantastic for all 3 locations A little more time should have been allotted to walk up Mt. Vesuvius. We were given 1 hour which took me 30 plus minutes to walk up, take a couple pictures then walk back. Antonio at Pompeii ruins was knowledgeable and put humor in the tour.
the wine tasting hosts seemed eager to rush us through the experience, prioritizing our departure over our enjoyment.
Pompeii and Vesuvius was wonderful . The guide at Pompeii , sasa was knowledgeable and had humor. However the wine tasting was far from good . Been to many tastings and this was not nearly close to anyone of our prior experiences. Could easily omit this portion from the trip
Sasa was an excellent guide and really helped to bring the story of Pompeii to life. Our only complaint was that we didn't have more time there to explore and learn. We'll have to be back! The lunch was delicious, and the trip to Vesuvius was a great way to cap the day as well. The views were breathtaking!
We really enjoyed our tour of Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius. Our tour guide Francesco was fun and humorous offering a lot of historical knowledge to bring the ruins to life. The hike to the top of Vesuvius was more difficult than expected (especially on a hot day), but worth it to see the views.
Our tour operator was superb with handling our needs and accommodating us from the start. Emanuel was our contact for Enjoy Pompeii and he was great as was the tour experience.
We had a wonderful time with our tour guide Sasa! He was so friendly and knowledgeable, and he made the tour personal for our group. Our drivers were friendly and polite, and helped us when we had an issue without tickets. A wine tasting with lunch was the perfect end to our day.
Sasa brought Pompeii to life. He was so engaging and made our experience in Pompeii one to remember. He really made sure to provide great context and background at everything we were looking at it. It was not just a point and look tour, but more of painting a picture in our minds of what life was like in Pompeii. Sasa is the best tour guide we have ever had and I am so grateful we got that experience with him.
My mother and I did this and it was absolutely perfect. The tour guides were absolutely amazing. The wine pairing/ tasting with the meal was outstanding. The travel to each area was made easy and was excellent. 100% would recommend
Having a tour starting with a tardy pickup at our Positano hotel and driving the 1-1/2 hrs to Pompeii is a waste of valuable vacation time. Pompeii tour was excellent and fascinating thanks to our expert guide, Sasa, who creatively set the stage to understand life at Pompeii and help us visualize the horror of the eruption that fateful day. Two hrs was not enough and I credit Sasa with five stars. Then the rest of the tour went downhill from there. Vesuvius was a tourist trap with a steep walk on the path to the top where you could not see the volcano. Crowds and buses vying for parking was a mess. It was a total waste of time. The lunch and wine tasting even worse with no a/c in the room with nearby tables left not cleared. The food was a ‘1’ and the server refilled our same single wineglass with average wine. If you didn’t finish your sample, I think she would have poured the next sampling on top of it. The group of 10 of us clearly felt the same and wanted to leave and we had to search for someone to put us out of our misery and direct the way out. Then the 1-1/2 hr return drive back to Positano. Do yourself a favor. Try and see Pompeii separately and avoid the extra time driving time. And…skip this tour…you will thank me…
My recommendation is to book a tour without the lunch and wine tasting. Trying to do all three left no time to enjoy any of them. The lunch spot was more of a road stop cafeteria and having to leave two hours to get there and have a mediocre lunch left not enough time at Vesuvius for us to do the trek to the top.
We were able to be picked up from our hotel and taken to the excursion, which was great. The Pompei tour guide was informative and showed us the entire west end of the city but there really was so much more to be seen. We somewhat expected this though, knowing the day trip only included 2 hours of touring Pompei. Pompei was huge and is like a maze. We were happy to have a tour guide leading us around. I was really surprised to see how much artwork was able to be recovered and learn about how beautiful the structures once were. We unfortunately could not see Mt Vesuvius, as there was intense rain earlier that week that damaged the trails. However, the winery was great! It had beautiful views, great food, and wine! They had a prefixed menu and it was great not to have to worry about paying for the lunch in addition to the tour. I liked the winery so much that I hope to get to go back someday.
Walking through Pompeii and hiking the rim of Vesuvius Sasa a great guide giving us vast history and background of Pompeii as a community and trading post
Overall I rated this tour a 2 star. The original driver that picked us up was inviting and polite. The guide for the Pompeii tour was great but the tour did not allow time to go into the museum shop for souvenirs and it would have been nice to purchase a book or something from Pompeii. Then there was confusion after the Pompeii tour ended as several small groups combined and went on to other tours. Our tour including a lunch and wine tasting then a “walk” at Mt Vesuvius. The van we took in the morning had air conditioning which was great and what the tour advertised but the van in the afternoon did not have air conditioning and the trip to the winery, mt Vesuvius and back to Positano was hot, smelly and completely miserable! When we arrived at the winery the group had too many people than was accounted for which meant either the tour group Mis counted or other people accidentally joined not understanding were they needed to go. At no time did one from the tour group ask for a voucher or verified who should be on what tour and if they had that would have easily defused the situation! So lunch ran late because of the confusion which meant the walk at my Vesuvius would be affected. When we got to mt Vesuvius a guide told us to walk in a steep hill with lots to of loose rocks which was really hard to walk on plus no were in the tour description did they mention a “hike” or to wear certain shoes with traction….. most people in poor health or shape would not have enjoyed that hike. The tour really should list basic requirements. The long drive back to Positano was hot and miserable and it was late when we finally did return. Long story short I would NOT recommend using this tour group as they were unorganized and a vehicle that did not have air conditioning when they advertised they would provide is not acceptable. Really disappointing.
Pompeii was incredible!! Our tour guide, Francesco, was funny and very knowledgeable about the ruins. His English was easy to understand. The wine tasting seemed quite disorganized and took longer than expected. Not necessarily the fault of the winery but our shuttle driver didn’t give us any instructions when we were dropped off. When we left the winery and drove to Vesuvius, we didn’t even get to see the mouth of the volcano.. just hiked for about 2 miles to then turn around and go back. It was pretty lame, and the guide didn’t teach us too much, but was quick to ask for a tip at the end. If we did it all over again, we would’ve just done Pompeii.
We ultimately got everything we signed up for, and despite an unexpected bus breakdown on route to Vesuvius we got to our wine tasting and lunch and received a free bottle of wine!
Sasa, our guide, did a wonderful job of bringing history to life. He set the scene and related the story of Pompeii effectively in just an hour or so. This was an excellent visit to what could have been an overwhelming site. Our family group, ranging in age from 11 to 65, all enjoyed it. Thanks, Sasa.
Omgosh amazing. So much great history and the way it was explained truly created the way to really see it back in its day along with the amount of knowledge!! And then to actually hike to the top of the volcano to look down was breathtaking! The lunch was perfect afterwards. Great wine and food. I even bought some bottles to have shipped back to the USA. our driver really took great care of us and stopped for LemonIce !!! LOVED THIS TOUR!!!
The Enjoy Pompeii tour guide brought the Pompeii story to life. I learned a lot. The Sorrentino winery wine tasting and lunch was fabulous. Didn't expect so much food. Delicious!
The tour guide was GREAT. The travel accommodations, not so much. The discription stated a comfortable, air conditioned mini van. We were crammed into a Mercedes sedan with another couple. We took turns sitting in the middle seat. Please keep in mind, you’re driving for a hour plus at a time.
This tour is a lot of driving from Positano - just FYI. Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius are fantastic, but from Positano lots of driving. The cars were nice but 1 hour to Pompeii, then 45 minutes to Vesuvius, and another 1+ hours back to Positano. One thing I would recommend is trying to get the itinerary in advance. I thought we would do Vesuvius, then lunch, then Pompeii, instead, we did Pompeii, Vesuvius, and then lunch - so we weren't prepared with enough food to get us through all day. Also, request 1.5 hours at Vesuvius, they only gave us 1 hour for the climb which is doable, but we had to hustle and take very few stops and photos - would have been much more enjoyable with 1.5 hours for this climb. I still recommend the tour if you are up for the driving but get the itinerary and try to negotiate for a better schedule.
This tour was fun and our guide (Ana) at Pompeii was very knowledgeable! The tour of Pompeii is about 2 hours, but you could really stay so much longer because we only covered part of the area. But on a 3-part tour there isn’t time for everything. There was confusion about who was going where next because some people booked different tours and we weren’t told the itinerary. We then realized we needed to get on the next van to Vesuvius. The driver dropped us off and gave us one hour which was just enough time for us to climb to the top and back and take some breaks. We then went to lunch at a beautiful winery. The lunch was delicious, as well as the wine.
Great tour! Perfect to see the highlights of Pompeii, the crater at Vesuvius and the lunch at the vineyard was the perfect way to end the day. Drivers were on time and very nice and friendly. Sasa was out Pompeii tour guide and he was wonderful! So happy we chose this tour, thank you for a wonderful day!
The day tour from Positano was a great package - the tour of Pompeii was very informative (and planned early to beat the crowds!); the lunch and wine tasting was a good; and the hike up Vesuvius was awe inspiring - although a little tougher for having had a few wines!
I would recommend this excursion. This was a small group tour of on 6 people. Our Pompeii tour guide Francesca was knowledgeable and informative. Two hours went by so fast. I wish we had more time to see and learn more. After our time in Pompeii we had a lovely lunch and wine tasting at a restaurant close by. Next we traveled to Vesuvius for our climb to the top. The car let us out close to the top. It took approximately 30 minutes for the hike. I would have been better to climb then have lunch and wine but I still made it to the top to see the crater. Hiking shoes recommend. The hike up is steep. Our driver was attentive and gave us plenty of time at each location. It was a great day!
We loved our Pompeii tour guide Julia, she was amazing. Also our drive from Positano Carmina was lovely. Our lunch was fabulous at the winery and we really got to know the rest of the group. The only negative we have is we had to wait waaaaaayyyyy too long for the drivers to pick us up from lunch to take us to Vesuvius and by the time they did and got us there we could not hike to the crater because we only started hiking at 4pm. This was extremely disappointing because the whole reason we booked the full day was to hike to the crater.
The place is amazing and you learn a lot about the history and the life style. The guide Sassa was very entertaining and he knew how to save time by not waiting for other groups to move but this is how we missed some interesting places such as the brothel and the gladiator training gym. I would recommend longer tours in order to take the most advantage of it. I had done this tour about 9 years ago with a private guide for our private group. I remember seeing a lot more. I understand it may be too long for some people but it was really amazing then.
My family did this tour and every step of it was amazing. Our driver for the day was Nicola and he was so helpful and informative. He called us during pick up which went really smoothly. The tour at both Pompeii and Vesuvius was informative AND the driver was able to bring us right to the start of the hike. The hike guide was Angelo, who was also helpful. Make sure you hike all the way to the crater. While it’s steep, it doesn’t take too long and it is worth the views.
I recommended this to anyone that I ran into in person after doing this tour. We had a wonderful time. Pompeii was so interesting and our guide Julia was awesome! My. Vesuvius was breathtaking. Thank you Antonio for walking us through the nature trail. The wine tasting and lunch after was well earned after a full day of touring. The winery has 16 acres in production which is incredible!
Sasa was our tour guide in Pompeii. I am so glad we booked a tour because we would not have learned as much as we did on our own. Sasa is so knowledgeable & made the experience fun & interesting. The winery was beautiful. We were given several different wines to taste & were provided a delicious wine. After, we made the hike up Mount Vesuvius. We learned a lot on the way up but unfortunately, the very top was closed because it was after 1700. A special shout out to our driver Carmine--he was with us the whole day. He picked us up in Positano & drove us around all day. We were so grateful to have him!
Our driver was amazing, tbe tour guide in Pompeii was the best guide you could hope his name was SASA then lunch was amazing the only downside was we booked a small group tour and had to wait for people who hasn’t booked the whole tour other than that it was so special
Vesuvius was great Pompeii extremely enjoyable and the lunch and wine tasting superb . I wish we new more ahead of time about what exactly we can see but it was a wonderful experience
This was such a great day trip. It was an added bonus that we got picked up from our hotel in positano. The guided tour in Pompeii was incredible and our guide gave us all the highlights plus some! The lunch at the winery was delicious and the view was incredible. Our only negative was the hike at Mt. Vesuvius we did not actually get to hike the top of as the description states. We just hiked around. Just beware that the description of this part of the tour is misleading. All in all this was an excellent day, very well organized and well worth the price! Would highly recommend this tour!
Communication and travel was super efficient. We also really enjoyed the tour guide in Pompeii. Lunch and the wine tasting was delicious!
Pompeii experience was outstanding we really enjoyed Sasa sharing his city with us however, Venuvius was disappointing.
This was an amazing experience!! Our Pompeii tour guide was very knowledgeable, Vesuvius was worth the climb (and not too strenuous), and the winery was incredible… delicious wine with an amazing view of Vesuvius!! Overall this experience is a must and made our trip to Positano very memorable :)
The five-star rating is especially for Sasa, our guide for Pompeii. He is wonderful. When he speaks to you about the history of Pompeii, he has a way of making you feel like you are the only people in the world. We felt well taken care of. Our driver was very skilled, navigating the insane Amalfi coast traffic. The hike to Vesuvius is fairly intense. The wine was excellent at Cantina del Vesuvio, but the tour seemed a little disorganized and we had to wait for other guests to arrive before it started.
Tour guide at Pompei was great and made the experience interesting. The wine lunch finished off a great day. The whole day well organised and driver very friendly and courteous .
My wife and I selected this tour and we thought it would be a nice and easy activity. We both thought Pompeii and Vesuvius were spectacular. The winery was a very nice bonus as well. Although the lunch at the winery wasn’t until the very end of the tour after Vesuvius and Pompeii. Our driver picked us up early (7:45am) and drove us to our first stop. We didn’t get to eat at the winery until the end of the tour. Around 3-4pm. We finally made it back to our hotel around 7pm. Safe to say, we were very hungry and tired after we got back. The views from the top of Vesuvius were spectacular but the walk to the top was difficult for most people in our group. The communication from the staff could’ve been much better. We had no idea when we were going next after each stop and had no idea when we would be eating lunch. Eat a big breakfast and bring some snacks if you can.
Really enjoyed the tour of Pompeii with our knowledgeable guide who brought Pompeiian way of living to life. We had friendly driver and a nice place to go eat after going up to Mount Vesuvius.
This was just what we wanted when booking a tour of Pompeii. Our driver picked us up from our hotel exactly on time and was very courteous. Our tour of Pompeii was fantastic and the tour service easily got us easily connected to our tour guide. The winery visit was a great way to end the day. It’s a beautiful setting and the wine and food were delicious! And we were dropped off right at our hotel at the end of the tour. It was very convenient and could not ask for anything more!
An excellent well organised day.. Fantastic guide of Pompeii and beautiful lunch with paired wines. The transfers to and from hotel made this so relaxing
Our tour guide of Pompeii was outstanding. The winery tour and lunch was great although lunch was around 2:30 - 3:30, which was late for us.
This was an incredible experience. Our tour guide Sasa was very informative and engaging and brought Pompeii to life. The hike up Vesuvius gave us incredible views. The wine tasting and lunch were extremely tasty.
