You could do this tour without a guide but given the trip from Sorrento (where we were staying) plus the hike itself then the return trip we thought booking this tour was a better option than arranging the travel ourselves + doing a self guided tour. The team picked us up from Sorrento and dropped us back off after. The tour started early in the morning to avoid the later heat. They provided great snippets of information about the region during the hike and clearly understand the area well. There were a couple people on our trip that had trouble finishing the hike due to their fitness levels, and they split up the guides so that they could make it back safe at their own pace. Overall I would book this experience again.

Nestled in the hills of Agerola, high above the sparkling Amalfi Coast, Bomerano is a charming village where nature, tradition, and breathtaking views come together in perfect harmony. This peaceful mountain retreat offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the coastal towns, with its crisp air, lush green landscapes, and welcoming local atmosphere. Bomerano is best known as the starting point of the legendary Path of the Gods.
In Agerola, there is a small Village, Bomerano. A small village in the upper hills above Conca dei Marini that could be the starting point of the Path.
The Path of the Gods has become famous in recent years thanks to its sky-line among the most suggestive and famous in the world that crosses the Amalfi coast rich of Mediterranean maquis where the vines makes it prodrona and grows along the ridge of the Lattari mountains that plunge into the blue sea of the coast from which you can see the island of Capri. The name given to this naturalistic route comes from historical facts and legends according to which the Greek gods passed through here to save Ulysses from the sirens that were on the island of Li Galli.

The path of the gods was a great experience, very well organised and the guide Nino (and other family members) was very knowledgeable. Enjoyed the time at the shepherds hut with a little wine, bread, cheese and vegetables. We even got a little song with tambourine from the shepherd. Views we're lovely down the coast and to Position and gave a good feel for the interior and country life. Not too strenuous if moderately fit but decent shoes are recommended. Great trip all in all.
An excellent family run business, well organised, very friendly and knowledgeable
Amazing experience with Tony. He was incredibly knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. The lunch with the Shepard was great! The Path of Gods hike was breathtaking.
This was one of the most amazing experiences ever. It was hot but still doable. It can be slippery so take your time. We were a small group…6 of us with Antonio, our guide. Antonio was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and patient. It was an amazing day.
This was a nice tour ,the guides were great and the views were spectacular. I would definitely recommend hiking shoes and walking sticks ,we brought our own because we weren't sure they provided them ( they do) We felt a little rushed at times and would have liked a little more time for photos at different places, but we understand we are on a,schedule . The stop at the Shepard's house was lovely and the bread, cheese ,tomato salad and hone were delicious. The only down side was we had the very last seat on the small bus and there was something sharp that was sticking out and my husband cut his leg on it . Luckily we always have wet ones and band aids on us . I told the bus driver but he just shrugged his shoulders and i also told the person I had been in contact with on what's app who said they would speak to the driver .. that was a week ago and we have heard nothing .
Glad I decided to do it. I'm 70+ and reasonably fit. I found it well within my ability, despite one sore knee. Sheer drop to the side of te path and not suitable for kids. The views were breathtaking. However with the advice of our tour guide and in consideration of my knees, I chose the bus from near the terrace, to continue the last stage which consisted of 1800 steps down. Otherwise it was quite do-able. You need to be very assertive to beat the others onto the bus.
Family of four with teenagers. Hike was amazingly beautiful and the picnic location was stunning. So good to see some of the natural part of Italy.
Unforgettable experience! Our guides Nino and Monica were knowledgeable, friendly and fun! They always made sure everyone on the home were doing ok. They gave us hiking poles which were so great to have!! The views are spectacular but just remember to wear good sturdy sneakers and that there is u even terrain and lots of steps as well. This is a must do!
Absolutely stunning views. Be sure to wear good hiking boots and bring water. Everything about this hike was wonderful.
Loved our hike with Giovanni / Johnny!! My husband and I did the hike and could not recommend it more - yes it was tough (while tougher for me than my marathoner husband) but so worth the toughness! Johnny was an expert on the journey and it was clear his love for the land, agriculture, people & the beauty of the coast!!
Beautiful views, great hike, favorite foods from the Sheppard, and an expert guide. Highly recommend this experience.
Swift pick up... Very informative and thorough dialogue throughout..stunning scenery and a nice lunch with Antonio the Shepherd!!
What a cool experience hiking this path which began in morning fog that quickly burned off to reveal beautiful blue skies and stunning views. It’s not an easy stroll, however, and we regretted wearing running shoes instead of hiking shoes/boots. I would also add it’s not a good activity for someone with bad knees or poor balance. There are a lot of tall (2 feet or so) rocky steps up and down. The hiking poles were helpful. Our guide was great. The whole experience was unforgettable.
The guide was very familiar with flora and fauna along the trail that we hiked. Rest stops were very well timed for those who needed to rest. I very much enjoyed the stop at the shepherds house and music session. Fantastic views of the Gulf of Salerno, memories for a lifetime!
It was a great experience, with very nice and profesional guides Roberto and Nino. Thanks a lot , it was amazing and safety in the same time.
We went on this trek not sure what to expect but this ended up being our favourite part of our stay in Sorrento. It was so quiet and peaceful... A unique way to experience the coast. The views are absolutely breathtaking, our tour guide was great at giving us local facts and historial/cultural information. Visiting the shepherd and trying the food was an experience of its own. We hope to experience this again and cannot recommend this tour enough!!
Path of the Gods is sensational on its own and a MUST DO while in the Almafi. However this tour took it over the top! The tour was well organized and communicative, picking us up right outside our hotel. We even stopped for a simple, yet delicious lunch with wine and music at a local shepherd’s hut high above with breathtaking views. Nino was the best guide; kind, funny and knowledgeable. Book THIS tour, you won’t regret it. 👍🏼
The tour was sensational. Roberta and Peppe are very kind and paid a lot of attention to me, as I don't speak English or Italian. Thank them for me. The stop to eat was magnificent. Everyone very kind! Thanks for the tour
Not only is the hike absolutely breathtaking, this is the VERY BEST tour of Path of the Gods. Our guide, Nino, was so knowledgeable, funny and kind. My favorite part was the stop for lunch at a local man’s home which had jaw dropping views of the Mediterranean and the Almafi coast. The food was simple yet delicious mad with local ingredients and he even played the guitar and sang for us. They were all so warm and welcoming. I would honestly book the tour again should we return to the area!
Highly recommend this tour. Our guide was very friendly and informative. Great view of the Amalfi Coast from above. Fun stop local food, music and wine at a sheppard’s hut. Very fun day.
Enjoyed this hike immensely. Beautiful views, enough of a challenge to make it a physical activity. Definitely faced some incline changes so don’t expect a flat path. The lunch stop at the shepherds’s hut absolutely made this excursion worthwhile! If you want to do something besides shop - book this trip
The hike and guide were both great! The hike itself wasn’t that difficult, though it was hot! It’s worth booking this to be able to get to the trailhead, it’s difficult to access via public transport.
Simone was an excellent guide who was able give us the history of the area as we hiked. Challenging hike, but not too hard. Recommend you wear good shoes!
Nino’s whole team was amazing. Monica stayed with us slower hikers until we got to the goat shepherd/farmer’s house. Then we had a lovely lunch served by staff.
This walk is for the more experienced walker due to the rocky terrain and sheer drops, if you suffer from vertigo then this walk is not for you. Proper walking boots are a must, it’s very open do gets hot, make sure you have water and a snack as it’s mentally and physically challenging.
Excellent tour both our guides were brilliant, very knowledgeable and friendly. The views were amazing would definitely recommend this trip!!
The most breathtaking views. Definitely a great hike and challenging. I recommend wearing hiking boots and take water.
Outstanding views and the guide was awesome telling you all the information along the way couldn’t not fault this whole experience
Do NOT book this tour if there is ANY chance your plans may change. After speaking to a few Italians about how difficult the hike actually is, I decided to cancel the tour for my mother and my daughter who is recovering from a knee surgery a few months ago. We were still keeping 2 of the 4 reservations and I kindly asked for a refund 5 or 6 days before our scheduled tour. They were rude and inflexible about cancellation or offering an alternate activity. It was definitely the right call not to bring my mom and my daughter as there were a few older people who were struggling on the hike. The tour may be strenuous if you aren't in great shape, are older, or have any other physical limitations. I don't think this is communicated enough in the description! I even asked my travel agent for help in getting our money back once we got home, and she didn't have any luck either. Would definitely not use this company for anything in the future!
took us about 3.5 hours to get from Bomerano until Nocelle and did not climb down the (reported) 1,700 steps to Positano. we still enjoyed breathtaking views along the way. the terrain was moderate. MUST BRING LOTS OF WATER
This excursion was AMAZING …the best of all excursions we did in a 7 days vacation..my daughter (24 years) and son (17 years) enjoyed so much as well as my husband!! The guides were super professional and very attentive to every detail of all of the 24 tourists in this excursions Monica was super attentive with me in particular since I got a little tired …I am not use to do this type of activities but I made it and she always was so patience and attentive with me!!! 100% recomended this ecursion with this touroperator!! Thanks for being so good!!
We enjoyed the tour. Stopping to have the break with goat cheese was particularly special….and a much needed break for that time in the hike
The views were so beautiful. Takes your breath away. Having a light lunch at a farmer’s villa was amazing.
This is an amazing experience that should not be missed if you are able to handle the hike itself which can be challenging at times and was very hot. The views from above the Amalfi coast are breathtaking. The stop for lunch will leave a lasting memory. We stopped and had a fresh lunch and then an impromptu concert broke out with instruments that date back many years. My daughter thought it was the highlight of the day. I would recommend this hike to anyone that wants to experience the Amalfi coast in a different way (and is capable of completing it)!
This is a must do for any active people On holiday in the area. I was initially planning to take the local bus to bomerano, and then do the hike solo, however as it was peak season the public buses were so busy I just didn’t wanna risk getting stranded. So signed up to a guide tour from the local tour office in sorrento train station. It was amazing!!!! The guide was so knowledgable, he told us everything about where we were passing and the history of the area, the trip included a stop at a shepherds hut with food and drinks served (unique experience to the trip) and completely fantastic! Was picked up at 0800 and was home by 1430. The cost was 60€. I cannot recommend this trip enough. *beware.. the terrain is difficult, please wear sensible shoes and ensure you are physically fit as some people had to turn back as they couldn’t manage the rocks.
Amazing tour with a fantastic guide named Alex who told us everything about the beautiful city's we visited. Three totally different, but awesome city's. Thanks for this amazing tour!
I had a very relaxed, somewhat short hike with Nino and the other participants. Nino made many stops on the way to Positani View and took a stand for explanations about wildlife and plants as well as land and people. We went back to the bus, freshly fortified with higher sun.
We are 3 friends that we did qs tour. We were impressed by the Welcoming, sympathy and helpfulness of Nello, our tour guide and transport, who also suggested the peculiarities of these wonderful places. So we recommend him to everyone as a guide and, when we return, we will ask for him.
