Miss Carmen was absolutely amazing! She helped up every step of the way and treated us like family!! We couldn't recommend her more, and wish we could take her back to Cleveland!

Chef Carmen and her wonderful family are absolutely amazing! We had such a fantastic time cooking, singing, laughing, and getting to know the other guests in our class. The entire experience was filled with warmth, laughter, and delicious food! Chef Carmen is not only an incredible chef but also a wonderful teacher. Her passion for cooking and sharing her love of Italian food truly shines through. She made everyone feel welcome and comfortable, regardless of their cooking experience. And the food we prepared was absolutely delicious! This was so much more than just a cooking class. It was a fun, authentic Italian experience that became one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend this cooking class! Thank you, Chef Carmen and your amazing family, for such a memorable and enjoyable experience!

Chef Carmen is extremely skilled in her craft and taught us new skills in a light yet informative manner. This is a wonderful experience for any level cook. Carmen is an excellent chef and teacher. We made eggplant Parmesan, gnocchi, and tiramisu. She brought the joy of cooking back into our lives! The venue was wonderful, and the food was delicious.

This is the second time I did a cooking class with Carmen. We made 3 different dishes: gnocchi, fettuccine, and lemon tiramisu. Carmen makes the class so much fun and entertaining. Well worth the money, you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic experience! We ended up at a cooking course with just myself and my partner, but Carmen was amazing at including us without pressuring. She gave a perfect amount of guidance while letting us feel we’d created the dishes ourselves. The environment was instructive but informal, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food we’d created at the end! Thank you so much Carmen!

We had dinner here and it was amazing!! The best pasta we’ve had since we arrived in Italy! Get the chef special 🫶 and tiramisu was great too. Good vibes not pretentious we had the best seat in the house, watching chef Carmen do her thing.

This restaurant is situated on a main road with chairs/tables outside shielded from traffic and an inside for cooking class from €150-€180pp The dining experience for a meal is rushed. Professionally run to get people in and out as quick as they can. Staff will come to the table several times to ask if, ‘Your finished,’ in the politest manner and even ask if ‘your finished do you want it to takeaway.’ I saw this every table throughout the meal. Your plate is removed as mine was whilst I was still eating the last piece of Bruschetta and my main course was put in front of me before I’d finished. The minute your finished they want you out to fill that seat. It’s a conveyor belt with no time to actually enjoy a dining experience. That said; the food is reasonably priced, portions are a lot and everything is very tasty. Your just rushed

I really dislike reviewing an experience without the full story, but I have to explain my 1 star rating. I booked this experience about 3 hrs before our time reservation through Viator. Everything went through smoothly. We were suppose to have a food experience with Chef Carmen at 6:30pm. We arrived at her restaurant at 6:10pm just to make sure we had plenty of time. The restaurant was closed. Looking through the window it was pitch black. Ok, I thought, we’re here early. Dinners start later here, even though I was required to give them a reservation time and 6:30pm was fine. 6:30 rolls around - pitch black on the inside, no staff present. A store next door was closing up shop and we inquired about this restaurant not being opened for our food tour. The person’s response was, Chef Carmen is always late. She’s probably just late again. At 6:40, restaurant still dark; no staff present. I then called Viator, and after explaining our situation, there was some hesitation about us not being at the right place. When I convinced them I was, providing booking #, address, etc, they said they will call Chef Carmen directly. After waiting for 3 min, I get a call back from Viator saying they couldn’t get in touch with Chef Carmen either. She wouldn’t answer the call. Viator said they would refund me the money no problem- which they did, almost immediately. Here’s what gives me pause; did Chef Carmen just decide not to show up, did she have an emergency, but then why not let Viator know, couldn’t a staff of hers write a note and put it on their door “sorry, we are temporarily closed due to …….” All that I know is that my 1 star still stands, and also a thank you to Viator for not giving me too much of a hassle to get a refund.

Carmen is an amazing chef and a wonderful person. She says what's on her mind and you will love her for it! The food we made, with a lot of help, was absolutely incredible. More fun than we imagined we would have on a rainy day in Sorrento!

Carmen and her staff are top notch, first class culinary wizards. Our American group of 18 diners loved it so much that we went back twice! Carmen's persona, exuberance and sheer expertise make her establishment a place that you definitely want to try and love!

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Carmen!! The cooking class was a BLAST! Carmen explains everything clearly, makes time to be 1-1 with everyone and answers all questions. The food was BEYOND delicious, and the wine & Prosecco flowing the whole time had everyone dancing. We cannot recommend this class enough for any couples or adult families staying in Sorrento or even visiting for a day!!

Carmen is knowledgeable and made cooking fun and accessible. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, perfect for our travel group outing. The combination of cooking, dancing, and singing created an unforgettable afternoon. Highly recommend for anyone looking to have a great time and learn some delicious recipes!

Everyone was super friendly and helpful, everything was well prepared and of course the food was delicious! Carmen was brilliant, “translating” ingredients and measurements to what we might find back home. The other staff members were great as well. Really enjoyed the class and would highly recommend it!

What an amazing way to spend time in Sorrento! 4 of us did this cooking course with Carmen. We made pasta, gnocchi and limoncello tiramasu. It was absolutely brilliant. Carmen is great fun and full of life and makes the experience even better! We were laughing the whole time. Unlimited wine and prosecco! The staff were all exceptionally friendly. We had such a laugh and they send you the recipes afterwards if you would like to try at home. We ate the pasta and gnocchi afterwards, as well as the tiramasu and it was delicious! I highly recommended. Thank you Carmen and staff.

Have visited Italy several times and a cooking class was always on my bucket list but the previous itineraries were always too busy. My patience paid off as my wife and I struck GOLD with this 10 AM cooking class at Cucina del Gusto with Chef Carmen! To begin, we were provided with aprons and all of the utensils and ingredients needed to make our 3 course meal - gnocchi, eggplant parmigiano and Limoncello Tiramisu. Is this not the best menu!! And did I mention your choice of red or white wine, Prosecco and water throughout the class. It just keeps getting better! The musical accompaniment was also quite fun and kept me moving! We shared this experience with another couple which we had never met and this only added another depth to the experience. Back to the cooking lesson- this was totally hands on with instructions from Carmen as the meal preparation continued. Making Gnocchi from scratch - ricing the potato, adding the egg yolk and flour and then kneading to the right consistency. Tricks of the trade shared by Carmen during this part of the class were invaluable. Rolling and cutting our Gnocchi was fun for all! On to the next course of the class- Eggplant Parmigiana. I have made this entree many times back home but this lesson has certainly upped my game! Instructions on how to choose the eggplant, how to slice and then how to fry was invaluable. I have already ordered my cooking tweezers and now have a new tool in my cooking arsenal. Carmen was right there by our side to instruct as to when to remove the eggplant from the frying pan so that the final dish was guaranteed to be perfecto! Our next step was to assemble the dish with the right amount of sauce, mozzarella and grated cheese. The dish looked perfect when completely assembled and the taste of the final product was Bellissimo! On to the next course class - Limoncello Tiramisu. Every restaurant and chef has their own recipe for Limoncello and this family recipe puts many to shame! Carmen prepared the tiramisu custard as we observed. Then it was our turn to assemble our individual tiramisu dish. Again hands on with lady fingers, limoncello and custard. I am truly loving this dream! Life is good!! We were then invited to sit in Carmin's restaurant while we were served the courses that we individually prepared. Absolutely delicious! This experience was everything I had hoped for and more! I think you surmise that from my review. Carmen and her immediate family- which we were all introduced to - made us feel like family and we loved every minute! Carmen - thank you for this fabulous experience, the cooking tips and secrets you shared and for making us feel so welcome. I will treasure this experience and put the newly acquired cooking skills to use while donning my new apron! Looking forward to a hard copy of the recipes. Ciao! Katerina & Tony!
