Similar experience to the rest of the 1 star reviews, this is not held in Positano. Viator will not refund, defaulting to a buried line the description. They clearly know this has been an issue as the title has now changed to "Amalfi Coast" from "Positano" cooking class. Most people book this on a time sensitive vacation so offering make up days doesn't provide any value and transportation in the area is difficult, not just "a cab ride away". I hope the new title helps mitigate this issue. I assume the content of the class is great based on reviews, but deceptive marketing.

Wonderful, educational, hands on! The chef was informative and educated our group of four to make pasta, tiramisu, and bread. Pictures were taken and wine was drank throughout. I cannot wait to try everything at home. Recipes are included with the class. The cooking class is located next to his restaurant in Priano. Taxi is expensive from Positano, however the drive there was worth amazing.
Rubina and Valeria were incredible. We had such a great time and learned a lot and obviously the food , view, and experience were all second to none.
Great experience, we would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a romantic cooking class with the best view of Positano
This experience was so memorable and fun. The couple who hosts you are adorable. It was so nice to learn from locals instead of a business. It's in their home!
“False Advertising” This course takes place in Priano not Positano, which is an 30-40 minute drive. Even though the Viator App says Positano they text you last minute saying a change of location. Viator will not refund you. We wasted half a morning looking for an address in Positano that didn’t exist. There are several other cooking classes in Positano. Stay Away……. This is a “Bait & Switch”
Rubina was absolutely amazing! This class was such a special and authentic experience and not just learning how to make pasta and tiramisu, but learning the traditions and techniques of Italian cooking that have been passed down through generations. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and truly unforgettable. One of our favorite experiences on the Amalfi Coast!
Quality. Local. Honest. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Rocco and Carla, great conversation and informative about the local community, culture and cuisine. Amazing hosts with an amazing view.
Valerie e Rubina personal cooking class! Incredible experience, the host and chef are great ppl. The experience was not only fun and relaxing but very personal. It’s more of a real Cooking class in the home of someone local as opposed to a commercialized social media trend place. Food was incredible all fresh from their garden. 12/10 Nothing was rushed, nor did we feel like we were there too long. Loved every minute.
Valeria and Rubina were so kind and hospitable. Our family had a fantastic time cooking with them in their private residence. It felt like cooking with family. I highly recommend this intimate experience over a large classroom kitchen one.
Chef Antonio was awesome! We were a party of 7 had a great time learning how to make gnocchi, pesto sauce and tiramisu. The instructions were easy to follow, he gave us cool insights into the ingredients and what to pay attention to for the best results. He served a great wine to go along while we "worked" in the kitchen. We would go back anytime - for a cooking class or just visiting his km0 restaurant. And we will visit his brother's restaurant in Ridgefield, CT in the US next!
The cooking class with Rocco and Carla at their home in Praiano was an amazing experience. It was a small group - just 4 of us so very personal and hands on. The food was delicious! We learned to make different types of pasta, ricotta gnocchi and tiramisu. They also served us some homemade bread and wine. The food was all farm to table with most of it grown on their own property. I highly recommend this experience.
It was such a fun experience to do with family and the other group we were paired with was great as well.
This experience was a highlight of our trip. Rocco and Carla were so kind and accommodating, and every single thing we did and made was incredible. They were so sweet with my 4 y/o boy as well, and it was so immersive and fun! And most importantly the food was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic experience and great thing to do when visiting the amalfi coast!
Group class including food, dessert and drinks! Lovely views as well. We learned how to make ravioli, gnocchi and tiramisu.
Viator/tripadvisor uses a third-party company called CesarIne. Even though multiple emails confirm details within an assigned host at the assigned 5:30 PM, they did not have a reservation for us and they did not have a class at 5:30pm per our reservation. Address was wrong, we used the neighbors to find them. We booked an experience for positano but were sent to Praiano a bit far. We went there and did not have phone number. With lot of difficulties, we used neighbors to find Rocco, but we were turned away as they did not have our reservation and the had a full class at 4pm but not 5:30 per our reservation. We messaged the “host” Cesarine on Viator and they sent a message back with a number in Bologna which is no where near to us, and a different name of host. “Please contact your host directly “ with a new name in Bologna far away. They have all wrong information. Disorganized. No direct communication between third party and host family where they sent us. Everything was wrong. We were very disappointed and wasted our time. We got nothing, no experience.

Rubina and Valeria were fantastic hosts! We had so much fun making pasta and tiramisu 😊 would definitely do this again! We left the beautiful home with a gigantic belly and smile😊❤️
This was an authentic food experience at a family home. Rocco and Carla guided us through making pasta dough and various shapes of pasta. We also made a very classic tiramisu. Couples picked two pasta shapes and sauces to enjoy. Carla instructed in the cooking while Rocco told us about his family’s farming and poured the wine they made with their grapes. It was an authentic experience. Simple and straightforward.
The experience is an authentic Italian family hosting you in their home for a meal. You really feel apart of the family, we did do other cooking classes in Italy but this one was by far the best! Rocco and his family were so welcoming and it really felt like home. They were able to assist even the most basic chefs into creating great dishes and were so flexible if there was anything that the group didn’t want in or needed to substitute. I would recommend this class to anyone I meet that is thinking of doing a pasta cooking class in Italy that is authentic.
Very fun experience. Beautiful setting with a wonderful welcoming family that are very knowledgeable.
This was so much fun and we had the best food! I would highly recommend this experience. The views were amazing the ladies were so much fun!
This was the most amazing cooking class! It was in their family home and was so authentic. The food we made was incredible & they made it super easy to follow along!! We cooked, ate and then drank and talked after. 10/10 experience!! Everyone needs to do this!!
Private kitchen with the chef. Very friendly host and amazing views from the kitchen. Food was amazing and vibes were immaculate!
Our cooking class with Valeria and Rubina was the highlight of not only our time in Positano, but our entire Europe trip! Their home (where the cooking class is) has the most amazing view of Positano! Both ladies did an excellent job of instructing us how to prepare the dishes and the meal we had was AMAZING! We had caprese salad, ravioli with two types of sauces, eggplant parm, and tiramisu. Their daughters were helping out with the class too by taking photos of us during the experience, which was a great way to get to remember the night while not feeling like you needed to have your own phone out. We were also sent all of the photos and recipes the next morning, and I can’t wait to recreate these dishes at home. I HIGHLY recommend taking a class with Valeria and Rubina!
Six generation family hosts a wonderful experience in their villa with home-made wine and family recipes.
We went for my mother’s bday and had the most amazing time. Rubina our host made the experience that much better. Food was amazing and the view was breath taking!!
Amazing experience! This was a highlight of our trip to the Amalfi coast. The food was fantastic and the cooking class was so much fun. Definitely a must do.
This was a great cooking class with a local family, in their home (outside, covered porch space) - it was a memorable experience. Carla & Rocco were a lot of fun, and we got to learn & enjoy making our pasta, tiramisu and having our meal together. They were wonderful hosts and we learned basic recipes that we can execute back home - which is great! It needs to be said that the class is not in Positano, but Praiano - which is not just next door, so you need to be aware for planning - as you will need travel time to get to the location. It is worth the travel for the authentic experience, yet know that it is in PRAIANO.
Our time was amazing. Easily one of, if not the, best thing we did in Positano. If you plan ahead to travel to the location, it is easy and incredibly worth it to experience! Being in the heart of an Italian home, the address in the TripAdvisor posting is not exactly where the class will take place, but the hosts are amazing and communicative and will reach out to you with a meeting point to arrive at the location together. They are very accommodating and gracious and provide such a beautiful Italian experience with authentic food and drink made directly from their garden. Please book this experience!
Rubina and Valeria were the absolute BEST! We had the most incredible experience at their home. They were so sweet and went above and beyond. They were excellent teachers and took pictures the whole time. They made this experience a memorable one. I would definitely visit them again.
We had a fabulous time at our cooking class, lots of great tips on pasta making and delicious food that we enjoyed while visiting with the owners Rocco and Carla. Rocco’s passion for local traditions and passing along family recipes was heartwarming. He also gave us excellent recommendations for other places to eat along the AMALFI coast. It was a wonderful experience and we felt like family enjoying time together cooking with Carla and Rocco!
Important to note this was in Praiano - it was an inexpensive local bus from Positano to Praiano and back. The small restaurant was lovely and the class ended up being me and my daughter. Antonio was entertaining and we had a great hands on cooking experience that ended with eating the wonderful meal we made.
It was terrific! Chef Antonio took great care of us. He was great to work with. Cooking was laid back and fun. Lunch turned out amazing! Good food, good wine, great limoncello and a lot of fun! Highly recommend.
Class was great…Carla and Rocco are very nice and Carla is entertaining! As advertised, we made several types of pasta and a dessert. We also enjoyed some of Rocco’s homemade wine. The class culminated in a lunch, where we enjoyed the food we made. While from Positano, it is an easy 25 minute bus ride away (only a couple of Euros each direction), we enjoyed the morning.
Rocco and Carla were wonderful hosts! And we learned to make pasta. The issue wasn't with the hosts it was with the advertising of this experience. It shouldn't advertise in Positano - it was 8 km outside of Positano. And on the coast is far! In the fine print is does state it could be outside of Positano. Another issue we experienced was it was outside not in a home, on a covered patio, freezing cold and pouring rain. If the weather would have cooperated it would have been wonderful - can't control the weather but should have been cancelled due to weather and messaged we would be outside. We wore our coats and did the best we could. WARNING: Please read the fine print and not look at the photos!
Such an amazing experience cooking with Rocco and Carla. They were so warm and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious yet simple enough that I can actually take what I learned home with me and make it again. The space was so beautiful and the homemade wine and aperitif were so good. Really overall an unforgettable experience. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area who appreciates food.
We booked cooking experience for 4. Communicated back and forth with agency and provided address and time for experience. Problem was that the cook said they are closed for season. Waiting on my refund.
We are extrememly dissatisfied with the booking provider, both Trip Advisor and Cesarine have been contacted regarding this and don't acknowledge any problem. 1.The photos are false advertising. 2.The inclusions listed were not provided. 3.It was not even located in the same town that webooked it for 'Positano'. 4.We paid more than double through this site than the other participants who booked through other agencies. This is by no fault of the lovely people whose home we were sent to or the service that they gave.
Unfortunately, we were not able to make this class due to the Boat ferry Being canceled for the day due to storms. We tried to contact The people holding the class and they were unhelpful. We asked if we could reschedule the class or if we could get our money back and they completely ignored us. This was very disappointing to us since we had no control over the weather. At the least, I think they should’ve refunded our money, they took the money and did nothing to reschedule our class or even give half of the cost back to us. I would definitely not take this class because if by chance you cannot get there, you are screwed. Just my advice.
We had an amazing experience with Emily and her family! There was some confusion with directions for the meeting point, but Emily and her family were super accommodating and even came and picked us up from Positano.
We were unable to make our cooking class because of the inaccurate description of the location. This class is not actually in Positano and it is in a neighboring town. Do not recommend.
Absolutely amazing! The best thing we did on our trip to Italy so far. Luisa was so knowledgeable and the meal we made together was delicious. We had an appetizer, cheese tasting, made 2 different pasta and a pesto and tiramisu from scratch. Several glasses of wine were offered to us. We stayed in Positano and our cooking class was at a beautiful rooftop restaurant in Praiano. We got there by bus easily and we hiked the path of the gods home!
Sergio was a wonderful host/teacher/cook. We felt very comfortable and welcomed in his beautiful home. The food we cooked was amazing and the fellowship was great. His recipes were delicious and easy to follow. We plan to make all the dishes once we get home.
Learning to make tiramisu, gnocchi and pesto with Antonio was so much fun. The class was really engaging and the food was delicious!
We had a fantastic experience with Balu. He went out of his way to ensure that our group had a fun and interesting time making homemade gnocchi, pesto sauce, and tiramisu. The setting is spectacular overlooking the sea and the food was delicious. Balu's English was very good, so if you're fortunate to have him as your chef, you're assured of a great experience. Definitely would recommend this activity to anyone in the Positano / Praiano area.
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Sergio was a truly amazing host. He welcomed us with drinks and snacks on his patio with a magnificent view. He involved us in the whole cooking process, and the meal was absolutely delicious. It was my husband’s birthday. Sergio even put a candle on his tiramisu and we all sang Happy Birthday! It was such a happy evening 🤩
Wonderful evening with Emily making gnocchi & tiramisu! Loved learning about her family traditions and being in her home added a. Wry special element to the night. We made some yummy food!
the chefs were amazing and the class was a great experience. Antonio and his son ali a made us feel at home and showed us a beautiful time. We learnt making Gnocci, Pesto , Fish sauce as well as Tiramisu which was all delicious. But Viator totally screwed up by providing absolutely wrong address and wrong meeting points. we were misguided about the location of the class , saying it is Positano. We had to pay $350 Euros for taxi fare to reach the class which is insane.
Sergio was an authentic Italian experience and the food was incredible! Do not be shy by less reviews compared to others… Sergio is very experienced and the food we made is better than at the restaurants in Positano hands down! Highly recommend
