Amalfi Coast Small-group Boat Tour From Sorrento Or Positano

Our guide was 30 min late initially, but the tour company didn’t communicate anything to us, and we had to wait around the marina area. Our boat broke then down when we were docking in Positano, so all guests waited for 1 hour on the dock. The tour company did not reach out to us to tell us the boat was broken. We reach Amalfi safely and the company sent a different boat. The guide and driver were amazing, but we were also not offered a place to hop out and swim, as advertised on the listing and itinerary. I have reached out to the company 3 times after the tour to see if they would offer some kind of reimbursement, and they have not responded.

BEWARE of Sorrento Sea Tours. After receiving a confirmation email 24 hours prior to our scheduled tour, they changed the destination and dates of our guaranteed reservations and did not tell us. When we asked for a refund for one of them, they have vehemently refused.

The tour has the potential to be truly world class, they are responsive with customer service, we departed late beacuse we were waiting on a couple, which was fine. We needed a bit more time on Amalfi, Positano and the swim time, but the whole family enjoyed and created good memories. A couple of little fixes and it will be perfect.

The weather wasn’t good but we still had a GREAT DAY! It was nice to just stop briefly in Amalfi & Positano, because the boat ride was the best part!

Awesome tour with great guides.

So worth doing a shared tour as the ferries are pretty awful. Pros: Fab boat with toilet on boat. Amazing views of the coast and long enough at the towns. Cons: You had to keep asking for the drinks the guys on board didn't offer and were pretty meh about interacting with the guests. Also rushed the swim stops. No fresh fruit or apertif despite that being on the list and then much shorter than advertised.

We had a really nice day on the Sorrento & Amalfi boat tour! The trip included stops in both Sorrento and Amalfi, where we had free time to explore, as well as two swimming stops along the way. Lunch was provided with sandwiches, and there were unlimited free soft drinks, beer, and Prosecco, which was a really nice touch. Our skipper, Vincenti, did a great job. The other skipper was also excellent, although unfortunately I can’t remember his name. He kept us entertained and shared interesting information and stories throughout the trip, including some fun facts about the local area. Overall, it was a fun and relaxing way to see the coast and enjoy the water. My only suggestion would be to use a slightly larger boat. Since the boat was relatively small, it could get quite shaky, especially when the water was a little rough. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it!

Best choice to explore the Amalfi coast in 8 hours. The boat was clean, spacey and fast. Both tour guides were extremely friendly snd helpful.

We had the best time on our boat tour with Sorrento Sea Tours. Check in was easy and everyone was helpful and friendly. Our captain and first mate were a lot of fun. We stopped at Positano and Amalfi for short excursions but we mostly enjoyed the time we spent on the boat cruising along the coast. The captain took us to a restaurant for lunch that can only be reached by sea, great experience. There was even time for a quick swim and some Limoncello. Hope to go back again next year!

Negatives - booked through TripAdvisor. Saw A price A = Au$ but actually it was charged in US$. Then in ‘What’s Included’ if you scroll down shows what’s not included - another 50 euro per person. This became a very expensive trip. The 8hours includes 90mins of standing in the Sun waiting. The last 10 minutes we were moved to our departure point and given some shade. Positives - beautiful boat and friendly staff. Dario was extremely attentive. The journey itself was excellent. Which given the wait and extra charges at the start do say something.

The perfect way to view the coast, excellent way to visit Amalfi &Positano combined with a swimx2 in the Gulf of Salerno. Boat was great group of 12 , drinks supplied . Amalfi & Positano were very busy as expected, not a lot to do .Not sure you need 1.30hr stop. The trip was easy to book and meeting point easy to get to. Tour mentioned fuel costs not included so was not sure how much I was going to have to pay on arrival , I think this should be incorporated in initial cost. The trip was 8hrs and enjoyed it all. Would recommend the trip and would do it again.

It was a great trip however we didn't have a guide with us to give narration or serve limoncello. The captain did a great job being solo. The check in process and delayed start of the trip was a little frustrating.

We had an amazing time with Dario and Bruno! They educated us in the history, took to amazing spots, and made sure we were having a great time.

We had a lovely day in Amalfi Coast with Bruno and Dario, who were really nice and made the experience even better. The boat was great and confortable, and the tour and the swim stops were really beautiful. Despite that, at the meeting point, when you have to pay part of the Boat Trip, the people who work for the company made us pay a tax of 4% for paying in credit card, but we paid in debit card, and the woman didn't tell us at the time and we just realized later... And besides that, they said that a sandwich and appetizers would be served, but there wasn't any food on board.

Sadly I am leaving a one star review due to poor customer service. I have sent a few emails with the company and am now being ignored. A service that was supposed to be included was not provided and no solution has been given.

This is a delightful tour. We got to see the Amalfi coast from the water.. a definite advantage given the extreme heat. Our guide, Giuseppe was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We learned a lot about the Mediterranean, the grottos and land features and the culture of the area. We had a good opportunity to visit Amalfi and Positano to eat, sightsee, and shop then topped off the day with a chance to swim in a peaceful cove. It was a totally enjoyable full day excursion.

Travellers need to know that they will face a hefty surcharge for fuel on the boat as they arrive for the tour. This is 100% the fault of Viator, who advertise the price of the trip without this extra 50 Euro per person built in - it is covered in the small print of ‘inclusions and exclusions.’ This is scandalous mis-selling by Viator and we will expect to be refunded 100 Euros for me and my partner.

Super good experience with this boat trip. Driver was very friendly and fun with a good laugh. Very good at pointing out sights and telling us facts. Definitely plan what you’re going to do at the stops since limited time created restraints.

I’ll start by saying that the experience of visiting Positano and Amalfi from Sorrento with swim stops was incredible and I would highly recommend such a trip. I was not impressed however with the tour company. In terms of hidden extra costs I’ve read other write about, there was 10 EUR per head for “destination fee”. We arrived 30 minutes early as directed and were told the card machine was broken so had to pay cash and if we didn’t have enough here was a cash machine we could use right next to her desk. This sounded suspect to me and there was no option offered to pay online or later. We then waited 50 minutes with no communication and lots of different tours meeting at the same time at the same point which made me worried we would miss our boat. I don’t think there was need to be there as early as they said and we sheltered in a restaurant front to get a little shade. The boat was very nice and be aware there are only 2 outside seats under the awning available should you wish some shade. We got 1hr15 in Positano and 1hr 20 in Amalfi. The light lunch was a roll in cling film handed to us as we got off in Positano as we were not allowed to eat on the boat. For Positano no advice was given on where to go. In terms of swim stops, they were in beautiful coves (no grottos attempted). We had one for 20 minutes and then a quick 5 minutes before Amalfi being told there would be another after. We were then told a storm was coming (hail) so we needed to get back. After a push from a passenger we got another stop close to Sorrento - I’m glad as the storm never emerged. Whilst there were clouds, they never looked dark and stormy to me. When we got back, we were told there was a 1.5/2 hour wait because of checks the Coast Guard were doing on boats so we were asked if we would rather go to Marina Grande. Of course everyone agreed and it was only an extra 5 minutes walk for us, but after other experiences in the day I was left wondering if this was to avoid docking costs. A great trip, but not the premium customer service I’d expect from a trip of this cost.

The trip itself was very good however booking online is not made clear enough, the advertised price is only half of what you pay there are added fuel costs landing fee's all of which are not explained when advertised, also the experience at the port while trying to find your boat for the day is very chaotic.

Booked a trip for a family of 12 had Bruno and Dario as our hosts and they were absolutely amazing nothing was too much trouble. It was an incredible day with spectacular views of the Amalfi coast. Would 100% recommend and if you get Bruno and Dario you will have an awesome day

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for our family. We loved it. The coast was beautiful, and the opportunity to swim in the Mediterranean Sea was amazing. Highly recommended. The guide was helpful with both knowledge as well as providing drinks and answering questions. We really enjoyed our time.

Our day out on the Amalfi coast was spectacular and a highlight of our time here in Italy. Dario was such a great host and did so well interpreting in 3 languages. He was very considerate making sure we were all comfortable, especially my 7 year old daughter. Bruno was our captain and was great at getting us around safely. I would recommend this trip to anyone. We purchased through TripAdvisor but do recommend to look at direct on the company website as we noticed it was cheaper once we had already booked. Ended up being an expensive day out, but very worth it. An amazing day out. Thanks so much for giving us some great memories of the Amalfi coast.

The boat tour to positano and amalfi was incredible! Both Captain Bruno and Dario were fantastic. Drinks were provided on board and the stops at Positano and Amalfi were incredible, as well as the two opportunities to swim! We would highly recommend and I hope to use sorrentoseatours next time we are in Sorrento!

We loved Dario and the captain are very personable. Jumping in the water was wonderful. We went to a small restaurant on the Amalfi Coast, then onto Positano and Amalfi. Honestly, going to both places in the summer is not fun. Way too crowded! I would recommend 1/2 hour at each place, and more time stopping and swimming. One place that was amazing and I wish we had stopped to swim was this tiny beach that was hidden and we had to go under the bridge to see the most beautiful buildings and beach. We had the best day out on the water and would absolutely recommend this trip to anybody wanting to go out on the water from Sorrento to see the Amalfi Coast.

Very enjoyable way to see the Amalfi coast! We swam twice in protected coves. It was a great way to cool off from the sun. We had time to Shop and eat in Positano and the same in Amalfi. It was a very enjoyable speedboat ride there & back! Bruno the boat captain & grabo?? were very attentive & offered us drinks numerous times on the boat. They also gave you a sandwich for lunch It was one of the best times I’ve ever had! Note: If you tend to get seasick, you may want to bring some Dramamine or take it before you go in case the water is rough

We booked the full day tour to Positano and Amalfi and could not have been more pleased. It was an excellent day. Our guide Dario and captain Bruno took care of everything. The boat was comfortable, the swim spots they selected were beautiful, and the time in each town worked out well. I would do again if coming back to this area and would recommend to anyone traveling to Sorrento. I think it was an ideal way to see the Amalfi coast.

This experience was an amazing way to spend a day in Italy and get to see so much of the beautiful coast. Our captain was kind and made it a great experience with his knowledge and great vibes. We were with 9 other people but it is a spacious boat. It should be noted that that at check in, they require a 10€ per person fee that is only accepted in cash. The other 20€ fee per person can be paid by card or cash. Overall I do recommend this experience!

Great views and comfortable boat. Not a lot of shade so bring sunscreen. The stop in Positano was only an hour long. It took 15 minutes just to dock. It was very busy.

The assistant crew member, Dario, was excellent—very attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. He made an effort to point out landmarks, scenic viewpoints, and points of interest throughout the trip, despite the challenge of being heard over the engine noise. The day ran smoothly, and we felt the time allocated in both Positano and Amalfi was appropriate. There was enough time to explore without feeling rushed or bored. Our kids especially enjoyed the extra swim stop, which ended up being one of the highlights of the day. Overall, a well-organized trip with a friendly crew that delivered exactly what was promised.

Theresa our guide for the day was exceptional. A local who knew her stuff and did everything she could to make us feel comfortable and welcome. An absolute superstar. The views and towns were wonderful, Theresa had great recommendations for each town we visited and as such my husband and I had a wonderful meal at Positano, the only downside was some poor initial organisation and a very late start, otherwise would thoroughly recommend.

stellar boat day, we were well taken care of by Marcello, kept us energized with music, snacks and drinks! Had 1 hour and 30 min at each stop, and he took us to more private swim spots with good views! 10/10 would do again!

I am so happy we chose to see Positano and Amalfi via boat. Bruno and Dario were fabulous for the excursion. We used the hotel transport to and from which was easy. Definitely the highlight of our Amalfi visit.

Great tour! The swimming stops was great and super fun! Only suggestion would be more time at the port stops.

The fuel charge and destination fee are extra which really increase the price- full charge should be more transparent
