Duomo Guest House - Stay In Sorrento

We couldn't fault our stay at Duomo Guest House! The location was so central nothing was more than 10 minutes away. Despite being on one of the main streets we slept very well and noise was never an issue. The room was cleaned very thoroughly every morning. I would recommend booking the rooms with city view and balcony to enjoy the atmosphere and people watch!

We loved our stay at Duomo Guest House. The location was fantastic, with plenty of restaurants and everything we needed close by. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. Gennaro was very welcoming and helpful, providing us with a map, tips for getting around and some great restaurant recommendations. We would highly recommend Duomo Guest House!

I had an amazing experience there. Sorrento was my base for the 5 nights. The place is right on the Main Street. Close to everything. 10 min walk to the train station and 10 min walk to the ferry, quick and super convenient. I found room to be very big for a solo traveler. Balcony was great. Very clean room. The host was extremely nice and very helpful. I honestly enjoyed my stay there.

The accommodation is situated on a really lovely shopping street, with everything within walking distance (shops, restaurants, the sea, the station, etc.). Please note that it can get very busy in the city. We stayed here for four days, three of which we had no electricity. As a result, we had no light, no electricity and ice-cold water. We couldn’t even get into our room with our key card. We had to shower in the dark with ice-cold water. That is why we felt the value for money was not right. We reported this on several occasions and, at the end of our stay, were offered breakfast as ‘compensation’. One coffee, one bottle of water and a croissant – given that we had no electricity or hot water for three evenings – the ‘compensation’ is not in line with the situation. This was a kind gesture, but it does not reflect the scale of the problem. In our case, we paid too much only to find ourselves without basic utilities for three out of four evenings. When we reported this issue to Airbnb, the host Serena left a review claiming that we were spreading lies and that we had been given a physical key (which never happened, and we have the messages to prove it). She concludes by warning other hosts to be wary of us. A lack of transparency and honesty towards us, but certainly also towards future guests. Please be aware of this if you book this accommodation.
