Stop At: Alta This tour starts in the city center of Alta. Depending on the weather and northern lights forecast we will decide individually for each tour where exactly we will drive to have the highest chance of seeing the aurora.

Oct 12, 2026, 10:34:57 AM It’s a basic tour and yes we saw the northern lights, but we were literally on the side of a busy road. Last stop was better, snacks and drinks were light on. No photos of participants taken. We actually had a much better experience in Tromso. The pre tour communication was zero after multiple attempts to try to get in touch with tour company, it was so disappointing, we really wanted a pickup from the cruise port because it was Sunday and virtually no Taxis or Bolts available. We thought this tour was rather costly for what we got. Our guide and driver were nice guys though.

Our guide was fantastic! We were a bit unlucky with cloudy weather in Alta, so he extended the tour beyond the 4 hours and drove far further inland to find clearer skies. You could tell he was genuinely determined to find the Northern Lights, rather than just sticking to fixed spots. He was flexible, happy to accommodate our wishes, and shared lots of interesting personal insights about life in northern Norway. A great experience that we can highly recommend!

Raul was wonderful. It was cloudy in Alta and he drove us inland to hopefully find clearer sky. We stopped at a few different spots and did manage to find some activity. The small group of 10 was perfect.
Raul took pictures of us with the lights in the background. He was always concerned about our warmth. A short stop to warm up with a drink and snack.
We were on the cruise ship which the shuttle service ended earlier than our return. I contacted Viator and they reached out to the tour operator and said they could drop us off at the ship.
I would highly recommend this tour.

Aeventyr Northern Lights – excellent guide, fun experience, great 4WD vehicle (very important given the weather conditions), clear and well-organized initial briefing — everything was very good. Excellent customer service and immediate refund of the price difference when we decided to switch from the Snowmobile Northern Lights tour to the Northern Lights Small Group tour
Great experience, had Raul a really experienced tour guide who was friendly and an expert at finding the northern lights for us! Had a lovely little group. Worth paying for if you’re in a short trip and won’t get much chance to see the lights yourself as you have a much better chance with a proper guide!
