What a place! Perched above a small ski resort, I recommend staying in a cabin rather than a room—you’ll be treated to an unbeatable view. The restaurant is top-notch. The chef works wonders, serving up exceptional, homemade dishes and desserts of the highest quality. The spa is very pleasant. A perfect stay.
This is one of the most magical places on this earth. The mountain lodge itself is perfect and so cozy. They have the best activities to book there as well!! We had so much fun ice fishing, mountain sledding, skiing, and more. Everyone there was so nice and welcoming and the staff really make you feel valued and taken care of. We made so many new friends. The beds were so comfy and the food and drinks were amazing. While everyone was great - I have to give a special shout out to one of the guides we had there, John. He was absolutely outstanding!! We had so much fun with him. He was an absolute professional while still keeping the atmosphere fun and exciting. He also has the cutest, smartest, and most well behaved little helper, Gary, his dog that he got to bring with us occasionally. Gary and John are superstars! He says this place is heaven on earth and he is 100% right. We will definitely be coming back here. When we do, we hope to see all of the friends we made, especially John!
Gosh, there is just not enough to say about this place! The people, atmosphere, food, it’s all wonderful. John made our honeymoon feel so special and he was an AMAZING guide all week. Not only was John helpful and kind but he was also very knowledgeable and a true gem to be around. John took time out of his day to take some great pictures and videos for us, and also let us hang out with his very well behaved dog/son, Gary :) we seriously can’t express how grateful we are for John and how special he made this trip for us. Guntova was also a rockstar and so sweet, she took us on the polar night dinner and it was unforgettable and delicious! We will be booking another trip here again for our anniversary and really really hope that John and Guntova are still here as they really make this place stand out as one of the special ones!
Stayed in a cabin for 4 nights. No faults. Location is absolutely stunning between hills and on a skislope. Child friendly staff and location. Food was super good as well. You can see the Aurora from your room on a good day. Special mention of the extremely friendly staff here that understand hospitality. Especially the girl with the piercing at the front desk. Also Alvin, the grayed haired woman and of course Amy and her owner. Our favorite place in Alta region. Will definitely come back
An oasis in the Artic - I would give 10 stars if I could. From the kind owners and staff, to the beautiful scenery, to the incredibly cozy and picturesque lodgings, the peacefulness, the natural, local breakfasts and dining, to the open night skies and the dancing lights, this place should be on all the lists of top places to stay in Norway. Do not miss the snowmobile excursion if you are up for an adventure and want to see the back trails of the artic.
