Brilliant trip. We were lucky enough to find a huge pod of bottle nose dolphins - between 100-200. Largest the guide had seen. It was magical. 30 mins out to sea. Then 30 minutes watching the dolphins, including newborns. So lucky to find such a large pod. Marine biologist didn’t really add much value. Anyone could have given the textbook information she did. No additional insight. However this did not distract from the magic of seeing so many dolphins around and in front of the boat. Highly recommended.

Truly excellent trip , we basically followed a school of 5 dolphins including a newly born baby and had almost continuous airings from the moment we reached one of the dolphin “hot spots” . An excellent marine biologist guide provided excellent commentary and overall it was a lovely trip. There were a few passengers who experienced some sea sickness which was understandable as we were pre warned that it would be a bit choppy but also were given the opportunity to rebook. Tip is never have your head down and eyes closed if you keep your eyes on the sea then generally you can be fine otherwise take a travel sickness pills if you choose to go out o when its choppy. It was a real highlight seeing the dolphins where they should be in the wild ! ❤️
I do this trip every year with Sealife and it’s amazing, the team is really funny and playful, Daniela, which is very kind, tell us everything about the species of dolphins, and the experience itself seeing dolphins and not only, in the wild is absolutely fascinating, i couldn’t be more happy with it! On the very trips we did, we saw whales, lots of dolphins and we even saw orcas on one of the trips, it’s absolutely beautiful! I really recommend it!!! 🩵☺️
Amazing experience, guide was knowledgeable and kind and the whole time was great. Even sailing out to find the dolphins was very fun and when we found them we got loads of time to admire (and ample photo opportunities). Views were beautiful, definitely worth it for 30 something quid. Would highly recommend!
We didn’t actually make the tour in the end as our baby was unwell, but felt the need to leave a review to pass on our thanks for the kindness and understanding from Dalila and team, when we had to cancel our booking at the very last minute. Friends of ours went on this trip and said it was the best ever, so we’re looking forward to coming back next time.
Be prepared to get a little wet but what a fabulous experience seeing a large pod of dolphins in their natural habitat. The guide advised us on the way out that due to this they could not guarantee we would see dolphins but told us all what to be on the look out for ie birds circling above & we came across a huge pod of common dolphins.Fabulous watching them & sharing the experience with the other trips members. Lots of excitement & smiles from everyone. Highly recommend
Amazing experience! Money well spent. Respectful approach towards the dolphins and nature. Heartwarming experience.
Excellent boat and crew! Saw a multitude of common dolphin including two mommas with babies! Awesome excursion!
We got very wet and didn’t see anything unfortunately. We were told at the start of the trip that sightings are not guaranteed, which we understand, but having been on different dolphin boats every year for the last 3 years and seen dolphins, whales and porpoises, it was very disappointing and I felt there could have been some compensation, or a voucher for another trip, especially as the weather was bad and there were clearly no other dolphin boats anywhere in sight, maybe because of the weather? This particular boat is very bouncy and splashy, so I wouldn’t recommend if you are prone to travel sickness, or have a bad back. The staff were very nice and did their best to cheer everyone up.
We specifically booked a tour that was advertised as focusing exclusively on dolphin watching. Shortly after departure, we encountered bottlenose dolphins, which was great. However, after about 45 minuted, the boat headed towards the coastal cliffs to visit the caves and rock formations instead. While we fully respect that the animals deserve peace and that sightings can never be guaranteed, we wonder why no further effort was made to search for dolphins in other locations, such as common dolphins. We specifically chose and paid for a tour that was dedicated solely to dolphin spotting. We had already visited the caves and cliffs on a different tour, for which we had paid separately. As a result, we effectively paid twice for the same cave and cliff experience, even though this was not what we had booked or expected from this tour.
The idea to create a boat tour for watching a colony of dolphins in Atlantic Ocean, it was a brilliant idea. I took the tour because everyone young or old love the dolphins. And I lovend it. The boat was a light, safe boat. The tour guide was knowledgeable about what we are going to watch. It was a sunny day, clear sky, a perfect day to enjoy watching Flipper and his brothers, sisters, cousins playing. And we're lucky to watch a big colony of dolphins swimming along the boat, under the boat, flipping, twisting, giving us a free ,unforgettable show. All of us took lots of pictures. Unfortunately we had to go back to the marina, but I can say to everybody: take this tour and you will never regret being on the boat for 1 hour and half.
It's tricky to review this properly, as the company (Bom Dia) did provide us with a tour, but not the one we originally booked. Apparently, they have lots of issues with people booking via TripAdvisor with the booking not going through even though payment has been taken and it shows up on your bookings. I would highly recommend checking with them a few days after booking just to confirm it's gone through, or (to be safe) perhaps booking direct with Bom Dia or through another company instead of TripAdvisor. The reason why I have still given this 4 stars is because, despite this, the team at the check in desk were extremely understanding and apologetic, and managed to slot myself and my partner onto an afternoon (as opposed to our planned morning) boat tour to see dolphins but also to see some of the Benagil Caves. In doing so we got to see some Risso's dolphins (albeit not too close to the boat, and the photos do not do them any justice) but a pretty magical experience either way. Our marine biologist on board also gave us a little talk as we approached the end of the tour about those dolphins, telling us that the chance of seeing that species of dolphin is very rare, so as far as I am concerned, even though this was not the trip we planned, we still got to see dolphins (rare ones at that!) and even got to go into some of the Benagil caves which were pretty awesome.
Longer boat ride due to distance from Benagil and the search for the dolphins. Very end of March we got to see a small group of 10-15 common dolphins but the water was so clear we could sometimes see 5 of them at a time! Maria, our marine biologist aboard, was great to narrate and explain some of their activity. Even with the mostly calm waters, this tour is not for those who get motion sick easily. The boat bounced constantly for 20-30 minutes or more for 3 different segments of the trip, especially when opposing the waves. They are not kidding if you have neck or back problems that are easily affected by constant bouncing of the boat at high speeds. The crew do have ways to manage for the handful of people on our tour that still felt/got sick but they did have to sit at the back by the loud motor to find some relief. Its clear for all tours but just in case: there is no stopping on the beach at Benagil Cave, just pulling the boat inside to look and take pictures. We were lucky with a gorgeous sunny day - but we still wore the provided windbreakers over our long-sleeve shirts and jackets because of the high speed wind of the boat.
What an amazing experience! The boat trip itself was enough but to actually see dolphins in the water was fantastic Our guide was Daniela and she was brilliant,so knowledgeable and informative, nothing was too much trouble for her. Would certainly recommend this trip, great couple of hours,
Amazing experience. Very professional. Very friendly and the marine biologist was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Would highly recommend going on this boat tour
It was brilliant. My partner is deaf and the marine biologist took his time to explain some aspects to him. We were lucky and saw a lots of dolphins including a pod of over 30 sleeping dolphins. Every question I asked was fully answered clearly and informatively.
Excellent knowledgeable friendly crew. If you are looking to see Dolphin’s I would highly recommend this trip. Good size boat that you can move around whilst taking your pictures.
We got lucky to see a group of 15 dolphins and several of the dolphins felt safe enough swim very close to the boat. It was absolutely magical and the marine biologist was super professional and informative during the boat trip! We are very satisfied with our tour!
Our guides searched long and hard to find dolphins. We followed a pod of common dolphins for a bit and I appreciated that the crew respects wildlife so much - the captain turned off the boat and allowed the dolphins to approach us on their own. Learned a lot of good information about them from the biologist. Sit in the front on windy day if you want to get misted!
Wonderful experience. The crew was very helpful, the biarding and unboarding was fast and efficient, and we saw dozens and dozens of dolphins! Well worth the cost and time.
Our marine biologist, Daniella, was super informative. The views were spectacular, and we saw the dolphins up close! Would definitely go back again, it was an incredible experience ❤️
It was a fun, choppy but comfortable ride. An experienced guide gave us lots of interesting information The boat stopped when we spotted some common dolphins about 6 knots out and we were approached by them. Others joined in, circling and going under the boat so that we got some really close encounters. A loggerhead turtle was also briefly seen by some of the group. We stayed there with the dolphins for half an hour before heading back to Lagos. An amazing experience.
At 11 o'clock, we headed back to the port. The receptionist informed us that the tour was canceled due to strong winds. However, I suspected it was possibly due to too few participants. The abrupt cancellation left us disappointed, cutting short our anticipated experience of the day's activities. They should have told us earlier.
Very great experience. The team gives 110% to enable a great dolphin sighting for everyone. I absolute recommend them!
We were out for an hour before being lucky enough to see 2 pods. The captain and marine biologist were patient and persevering, keeping us informed throughout. Once we found pods, they were expert in information and careful attendance. Fantastic trip. Thank you.
Worth doing! Lovely people, pleasant ride, perfect weather, big school of common dolphins, lots and lots of pics and video.
They rang in the morning to say the sea was too rough but would go out later at 2. The sea still had some swell but the boat ride was exciting according to my 14 years old companion. We searched for nearly 2 hours with out success and were on our way back when they reacted to another boat and turned around to find a big pod of common dolphins. Wonderful experience and the company went well over there time to ensure we all had a great day. Take warm clothing.
A fantastic experience! I thought it might be a long shot seeing dolphins at this time of year but the crew worked so hard to make this happen for us. An incredible experience to see a whole pod, including babies. Our guide was fantastic - friendly and knowledgeable.
The marine biologists were kind and knowledgeable. It took awhile to locate dolphins but we eventually did and it was amazing .
We took a speed boat off the coast and eventually spotted a pod of dolphins travelling through. They were super close to the boat and the marine biologist was super friendly and informative. Our boat had seats we had to straddle so recommend wearing something comfortable and not taking much to hold on to as the boat goes pretty fast and bounces with the waves like a rollercoaster so you'll be holding on. It was a magical experience! Would definitely go again.
Thank you to Daniela and Gonçalo for an unforgettable and incredible experience. We did not want to get our hopes up, and we knew that nothing would be guaranteed, but being lucky enough to see dolphins and two different species in one boat trip is simply a blessing. We highly recommend this specific company. You can tell that you are in the hands of good people which is really important since you will be away from the shore and out on the mysterious Atlantic ocean. You need to feel safe and well cared for. Daniela's smile and warmth is a huge bonus as we love being around such positive people. All the best from Kraków:)
An absolutely amazing trip. As much as I loved the dolphins I loved the passion of the whole team, their respectfullness and own love for them🐬 I will come back.. thank you
Great experience! Not the first time we did a dolphin watching tour. The boat was rather small but comfortable. The guide explained interesting things about dolphins and was very kind (and good looking :-)). Most important: we found a bunch of dolphins!
Enjoyed the great sightings of Dolphins. Especially the mother and her new born. Great to hear the comments from the marine biologists. Learned that Dolphins sleep with one eye open
This was the best experience of my trip so far! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and just as excited when we found a massive pod of dolphins. Our boat was the only one with the dolphins for at least 20-30 minutes before other tour operators also found them. I can't say enough about how special this experience was. A word of caution, some seats onboard are saddle seats so if you have a bad back this may be uncomfortable. There are regular seats towards the back of the speedboat. Thank you for a great day!
Amazing experience. Hoped for dolphins, which we got but to also see a humpback whale made this a once in a lifetime experience.
Nice people and professional people ! We saw the dolphins and it was amazing! Totally recommend the trip !very organised and perfect weather for it!
Amazing experience, saw a huge pod of dolphins that came right up to the boat! The marine biologist guide was very friendly and informative.
Amazing. Can’t believe how many dolphins we saw. Guides were really great. Really informative and enjoyable trip. My photos say it all.
We had a wonderful morning. We were fortunate to find a pod of 40 dolphins and we slowly sailed with them as they played around the boat. We know we were lucky and the experience was made better by the lovely staff who were clearly excited too and very very knowledgeable about the dolphins. The female staff took time to talk and educate my daughter, it really made the experience. The excursion was a little bit more than others, but you get what you pay for.
Fabulous hour and half. It was a windy day so really didn’t think we would see dolphins. We headed out to sea & clearly the biologists on board knew what they were doing as before long they cut the engine and there they were! A pod diving & jumping all around us. Just wonderful. We spent about half an hour just moving amongst them. Best dolphin experience ever! Thank you.
An incredible experience, made all the better by having lots of information and questions answered by the marine biologist onboard.
Wonderful day at the sea - we saw lots of dolphins and very knowledgable hosts. Perfect length of time too. Would highly recommend!
Professional and passionate , they showed greater respect to animals out of all boats present. we had experience of a lifetime and followed four adult fin whales for an hour-
Fantastic Crew, and of course amazing dolphins, seen in their environment. The sea was calm, which allowed us to see the dolphins early as they jumped and played; even the young were nearby! It was great being able to photograph from different areas of the boat. During the 30-40 mins we must have seen 30 plus dolphins. Highly recommend this trip from Lagos.
Our boat guide, Daniella, was excellent! She was very kind and informative. Very passionate about the dolphins. We saw a small pod of dolphins and interacted with them from a distance. Unfortunately, the other people in our group blocked most of the viewing opportunities, so we didn’t get a lot of photos. I would recommend trying to get a front seat and stand at the front when viewing opportunities begin. People are not cordial about rotating. The boat ride itself was really the best part! The waves were choppy when we went, so it made for a roller coaster like experience. We did the dolphin viewing experience, but I think it would be better to have done the cave combination as well.
Highlight of our trip! Truly spectacular and led by such a caring, enthusiastic and knowledgeable team. Magical memories made Xxx
Our trip with Sealife today was absolutely incredible! We had the amazing surprise of seeing whales, which was a surreal experience. To top it off, we also got to see dolphins in their natural habitat. The crew, André, Gonçalo, and Daniela, were fantastic. I highly recommend this experience. Thank you for a wonderful family day! 🩷
Great tour by Daniella (and I forget the other biologist’s name. They provided helpful Information and the group size was perfect. I would recommend it.
Fantastic trip with Danielle at 12:30 today. Saw loads of Bottlenose dolphins close-up. They were playing, swimming & jumping - just beautiful creatures & so lovely to see. Danielle & the boat skipper, were great. Both really friendly & helpful. Danielle shared hwr knowledge re the dolphins on way back to the marina- really interesting. A great hour & half trip which has made my holiday. Would definitely reccomend. Great trip, excellent value for money & friendly & knowledgeable crew. Thankyou.
