Had a great day out with our guide/driver Rui. He was right on time with pick-up, so we made good use of the half day. He imparted a lot of great information and history about the sites visited (Sagres and Forteleza) as well as others en-route. This guide has lots of energy! If you don't have your own vehicle, this is an excellent way to see two important historical sites.

Visit to the Fortress of Sagres, where was the School of Navigation founded by Henry the Navigator. Let's see the famous compass and take a walk along the trail around the breathtaking cliffs.
Stop for a photo of the fishing port of Sagres overlooking the south coast of the Algarve. From this viewpoint we will also see Martinhal beach and its islands.
The Beliche beach presents a unique beauty. Here we can see the imposing cliffs that protect it from the strong wind. Here we can also find numerous surfers.
In Cape Saint Vincent, we will see the huge lighthouse at the most southwestern point of Europe. Before the 15th Century this was known as the "End of the World". Place that allows unique photos to later remember.

This was a great half-day tour. Our guide Rui (an Algarve local) was very knowledgeable and gave us ample time at each location to explore on our own. For me the highlights were the incredible cliff views from the fortress and the lighthouse. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and check out another part of the Algarve while we were staying in Lagos.
I chose this agency after reading so many positive reviews, and I’m very happy to say that they truly lived up to them. The tour was extremely well organized from beginning to end. I was staying in Lagos and we were picked up directly from our hotel, which made everything very easy and convenient. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about another agency we used for our trip to Lisbon. Mr. Filipe was a wonderful guide — professional, friendly, knowledgeable and always happy to help. Many thanks to him and to Mr. Antonio for making this such an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this agency and this tour. 100% worth it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rui was very knowledgeable, friendly and did a great job driving us through Sagres. I would absolutely recommend this tour!
Our tour guide, Phillip, traveled to our hotel in Lagos to take my family and I to Sagres and St. Vincent's. Phillip was an excellent guide, highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His talk on the way about Portuguese history and culture was fascinating. Once at Sagres, Phillip gave very interesting background on the history of Portuguese navigation and how this tiny country came to rule the seas and journeys into the new world. The museum was fascinating. Phillip enthusiastically encouraged and answered all questions. He knew everything! We ate at the location and then headed back, sorry our time with Phillip had come to an end. A very relaxing, informative tour, led by a dedicated guide. A wonderful experience for the whole family.
Filip is an extremely knowledgeable local and gave us lots of good history. I had originally intended to spend a whole day/night in Sagres but especially without my own car, I'm glad I did it as a day trip. Even on a nice day, it's extremely windy at Sagres and Cape St. Vincent and you probably won't want to spend too long there ( but wow, is it beautiful!) Filip was great with local knowledge, history and answering all of our questions.
Phillips, our driver was very knowledgeable of Portuguese history and culture. The views of the southern Portugal coast are stunning.
Filipe Simão did an excellent job leading our group and keeping us on pace. He is very knowledgeable on the history and local area. I enjoyed the tour and it’s a great way to see the coast. He even provided some excellent restaurant recommendations.
This tour was amazing! Our tour guide Filipe was very informative and made our tour that much better. We would definitely recommend this tour.
The guide was great. Give us lots of information about places we visit. Pick up and drop off excellent. With extra informations about city-Lagos. The only problem what's that van was too small, but even we didn't know each other vhole group get together very well and for us it wasn't problem
We had the pleasure of being in a group led by Philipe. He was very friendly and informative from the moment he picked us up. We found him very engaging and eager to share his love and knowledge of the Algarve with us. The scenery was stunning and history was fascinating. This trip was a highlight of our holiday and we highly recommend it. NB you don't need to worry about any climbing but the ground is slightly rocky and uneven.
This was an interesting tour, another castle to see, Rui the guide was very informative and the views and cliff scenery was awesome. I would highly recommend South Explorers, they were punctual, kept you well informed and the hotel pickup was appreciated.
Rui was very informative and had a wonderful sense of humour. Thoroughly enjoyed the excursion.
Had an excellent trip with Filipe who was a font of knowledge on the history of Portugal and the local areas. Would thoroughly recommend this opportunity to see amazing and dramatic views, and learn more about this beautiful country at the same time.
Mostly enjoyed the views, photo ops from each location .very nice. Run was a chatter-box, filling us in on all the history.
It was a good arrangement to see the main attractions in a half day. The timing of arrival at the fort/navy academy and museum was excellent before arrival of big crowds. Same applies to our visit and viewing of Cape St Vincent. The length of the trip is adequate
We had a great guide, Rui, who told us a lot about the history of the area. He was very knowledgeable on many topics and took pride in giving us a great tour of the areas.
We travelled by bus number 47 from Lagos. It takes 1hour 20 min. It´s enough to spend 40 min there. From that we continued to Sagres fortress which was built in the 15th century by Henry the navigator. Afford yourself enough time to walk around. Admire the sea, rocks. It´s a mythical place.
We did this half day trip and it was an excellent trip and we had a brilliant guide, Filipe who was informative and friendly and who gave us a very interesting history of Sagres and St Vincent. He also took us to Miradoura da Cordoama with panoramic views of the coast below which was a real highlight. He also drove us through some beautiful villages including Vila do Bispo. The vehicle was clean and comfortable and we had such a great trip and it was a good amount of time and we got to see lots. We would recommend this trip and Filipe as a guide.
Rui was great. Tour was beautiful and informative. Well worth it. Views like none I have seen before. Our tour guide brought the history of the area alive. A nice high point during our trip.
Excellent tour! Wonderful way to see Sagres and Cape St. Vincent! Just enough time at each to explore and learn. Rui is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide!!
Roy ( not the correct spelling !) was a lot of fun and very informative. We had an wonderful experience . Would recommend this tour .
We have the most amazing guide Felipe for our trip. He is very knowledgeable, accommodating & goes the extra mile. At Sagres, we visited the museum, the different sides of Sagres and finally the Cape St Vincent. He clearly explained the history of the stops, we made. We did not feel rush & we truly enjoyed the tour. After the tour, he recommended a restaurant & a few more locations for us to check out in Sagres and those recommendations exceeded our expectations. Thank you very much Filipe for a memorable trip in Sagres!
Very good trip. Very pleasant and clean minibus.. Very knowledgeable and friendly driver/guide. Really interesting and spectacular scenery.
Felipe was a great tour guide - very knowledgeable and friendly; was an excellent driver. We also appreciated his flexibility in letting my mom, an artist, stay at the first location so she could paint; picking her up on the way back.
Antonio was a great guide. The scenery and views were beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour and company
Filipe was amazing, very knowledgable, picked us up on time and gave us so much information. It would have been nice to know in advance that Cape Saint Vincent light house was closed for the public visit but we made the most of it.
I enjoyed seeing this different area of Portugal. It was nice to be able to walk around and enjoy the area. The Sagres Fort was interesting and I enjoyed the “end of the World” This was my second trip with Roy and he is an excellent guide.
A great half-day trip out of Lagos. The museum at the Sagres fort is worth a quick visit, but on our trip we may have spent a bit too much time there and missed the opportunity to walk out to A Voz do Mar - I was told it was worth seeing as well. Beautiful views at all the stops...
Antonio picked us up from our rental and transported us to the west coast. The scenery was stunning. Sagres and the fortress and the museum were so interesting. We never would have seen or learned as much as we did if we'd tried to do this on our own. He even took us to the 'secret spot' with outstanding views. He is a first-class tour guide, intelligent and polite and knows the area like the back of his hand. Don't miss a tour with him!
We were notified that tour would start 30 minutes earlier and driver arrived promptly. Driver was very friendly and knowledgeable, however, soft-spoken and passengers in the back missed most of his dialogue in the van. Also, he felt rushed as another tour was booked back-to-back to our tour and he was accomadating of our needs, but also mindful of his time schedule.
We were picked up on time by Antonio who we had as a previous guide and we just think he’s wonderful! He explained a lot of the history of Sagres and Cape St. Vincent then made sure we got to a special spot to see a fantastic sunset and all the hang gliders. It was a superb day all around! Highly recommend!
Roy is a great tour guide. Lots of information and plenty of stories and the scenery was breathtaking.
Rui was a great tour leader with a lot of information about Sagres Fortress and the Cape, both locations well worth the visit
Great Museum and lighthouse trip definitely much to see and explore in a short trip 2 hours not including drive to locations
The views were fabulous. Guide was very friendly. It was convenient to be picked up at our hotel. Nothing else to say.
- Knowledgeable, dedicated and ontime tour guide. - Decent time (8 hours) to view the palace and hear about the nitty gritty of history and cultures in Lisbon. - Visited and crossed by several districts on the road trip including a lighthouse and good restaurants and beaches. - Detailed explanation of visited places by the friendly tour guide.
Beautiful views. Our driver and tour guide was great. She took us right to the front avoiding any lines. Highly recommend.
Amazing trip! Learn en ‘live’ about the history of cape St. Vincent and the beautifull ford! Great tour quide, who does everything to make it a great experience!
Margarita was very good guide … interesting history on Portuguese ocean navigation… great views of powerful Atlantic
I received a whatsapp message the day before of our trip advising me what the drivers name was and a photo of the van, which was helpful. Rui our driver was very friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable. He made the experience a great one. I would highly recommend this trip.
Great vistas, cracking driver- guide called Rui who kept us all informed on local history and totally entertained.
The guide was fun and Knowledgeable, Good trip if you want to switch your beach trip up for an afternoon.
What a great tour! Our guide Antonio was fantastic. My husband and I especially loved stopping at the little towns along the way to Sagres and Cape St. Vincent, especially Burgau - known as the "Santorini" of Portugal! Once in Sagres, we had about 40 minutes on our own to walk around the fort, etc., before heading out to Cape St. Vincent. Although the morning had been foggy, it had cleared up and we got some great photos of the gorgeous views! Antonio explained everything along the way, and was super friendly and easy-going. Loved the whole experience!
Secluded beach with windsurfing. Great guide! So knowledgeable and welcoming. Algarve is definitely worth visiting, I wish we had more time there.
We really enjoyed our half day with Antonio. He is friendly and very knowledgeable. The scenery is spectacular. It was a great day.
Very good tour. Recommended. The easiest way to go to Sagres Fortress and Cape St Vincent. Sagress Fortress is beautiful and historical, while Cape St Vincent a bit dissappinting because the lighthouse is not clearly visible, it is behind a building. Antonio gave us a bonus by visiting a beautiful cliff on a beaten track.
The views were fantastic! Antonio was a perfect guide! Explanation were complet and interesting! Percect day! I recommand!
Antonio was an excellent guide. We were a small group of seven so easy to ask questions. We learned so much about the history, culture, and landscape. Loved it!
Fantastic tour, our guide Antonio was brilliant. We learned a lot about the history of the area and the fort was beautiful with highly recommend if you’re in the area!
