Ponta Da Piedade Cave Tour

We did a boat tour with Jose who was caption, operator. We were told by agent at counter that we might not get to go into caves because the seas were choppy and there is highly risk. The seas were choppy and rough. Our captain handle the boat extremely well and he took us into varied caves. His skill at handling the boat was exceptional I couldn't believe how he was able to navigate the choppy waves and make the boat float through the waves. It was incredible experience. Our tour guide was amazing wealth of information and was very pleasant. Despite the rough seas I felt completely safe with Jose handling the waves.

We thoroughly enjoyed the short boat ride out to the coastal rock caves. Jose was the perfect guide, expertly navigating the boat and giving us the back story of the various grottos. If I were to do it again, I would do it on a kayak, so that I could enter the narrower passages and shallow water and stop on some of the little beaches and landings.

We bought the ticket at a Bom Dia branch in the center of Lagos. Impeccable service from Mr. Carlos. Always available to inform and clarify. Everything was arranged and we arrived at the marina for our tour. We were welcomed, handed over our pass, and headed to the boat. Life jackets were in great condition, and off we went. Francisca and the captain were always attentive and ready to explain everything about the trip. A beautiful trip with many caves, always visited safely. Spectacular views of the rocks, the city's history, the caves, and the culture. Highly recommend.

We had a most enjoyable trip to the caves with Francisca; a very knowledgeable guide, ably assisted by Mali. It was very exciting to go into the caves and we felt secure with Paolo who was an expert at managing the boat. Flora in the office on the marina organised the trip and we would highly recommend it. Great trip with Jose! Would do it again

I purchased that trip on line for May 26, 2026. and received a confirmation. On May 25, 2026 I received a reminder. My accommodation is in Olhao, 100 km away from Lagos. I took an Uber ride to Lagos and I went to Marina Lagos meeting point to find out that the trip was canceled. Staff member lied that they sent me SMS message and additional message on What's App about trip cancellation. I was just shocked because they send me a trip reminder a day before the trip by email and they didn't send anything regarding trip cancellation. The staff member was very unpleasant and aggressive. I received trip payment back but money I spent for riding back and forth is my my expenses and is around €140. Therefore, I strongly don't recommend this company because the staff is extremely unprofessional.

Had a great sail over from Lagos marina to the bay and explored the Ponta de Piedade caves . Crew was great and sailboat was very authentic. Charcuterie was good and included. Drinks available for purchase. A little too cold to swim but a few took advantage. Crew gave history of caves as we toured in the smaller motor boat. Highly recommend!

Brilliant morning on the water with Diogo. Loved every minute of paddling the grottoes. We were lucky to have a perfect morning, glassy waters, no wind. Enjoyed a refreshing swim at the end of the paddle. Professional, all staff really welcoming. Five stars !

This was a fantastic boat trip experience from start to finish. The crew were great, it was fun to see them do their thing on the sailing boat. We felt relaxed and safe throughout, soaking up the sunshine on deck and taking in the spectacular scenery. There was an opportunity to swim for those that wanted to. Exploring the grottoes by transferring to a smaller boat was an experience we will never forget.

The wievs were amazing. Beeing on the sea, swiming, discover the caves. Fantastic. Recommend it! Do it, you will not be disapointed.

We had a fantastic afternoon seeing the caves with Bom Dia! The crew was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable regarding the history of the area and the transition to the smaller boats to get closer to the caves was seamless and easy! Would recommend to anyone!

We had a fabulous tour with Sarah and Bonne. He drove us skillfully through all of the caves and Sarah told us all about the background of the sandstone caves. They weren’t very friendly and eager to answer all of our questions. EXCELLENT TOUR!! The Bengal Tours are a lot more money but just further away. The caves here are way better with all of their colors.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Grotto tour and would highly recommend it. The views were stunning. It was a really great mix of relaxation and adventure. We would definitely do it again if we ever come back to Lagos.

Great 2 hour tour around the lagos grottos. The small boat ride get super close to the caves - their boat driving skills are insane going through the rock formations. The service was amazing. Overall great value for money!

This was a fantastic boat trip we choose the 4hr trip which included lunch. Great to do on a really hot day with the sea breeze cooling us down. We saw the caves, swam in the sea and were lucky enough to see dolphins near by. The crew were friendly and chatty. Easy to book and easy to meet up.

Jack is an excellent captain who masters the boat perfectly which gives you great advantage compared with the other boats around we noticed several times. He was attentive and explained lots depending on your own interests. He is also great with kids. We loved every second of the trip.

It was a very nice trip. The captain is very concerned about making sure you have a very nice trip. We took the 2-hour grotto trip, with swimming option. With the amount of people on board, the captain had to make 2 groups, one would visit the caves while the other was offered to go swimming in the meantime. Then the groups switched. We visited a lot of caves, with comments for each of them with a touch of humour. Captain was very professional and we felt safe with him. Have a nice tour with them !

My family of 5 took one of the small boats, (seats up to 10), and we had the boat all to ourselves. Capitão Jack and first mate Fabiana were excellent tour guides. Jack navigated into, out of, & around many different grottoes, rock formations, and arches with expertise. He was very informative, funny, and accommodating. We were all able to get great photos. The blue green ocean color and golden sandstone rock formations & cliffs was amazing to see up close. So glad we chose the small boat as it was easily able to enter those grottoes. Jack, our boat caption, was informative, fun and a complete boat captain. His ability to navigate in the tightest places to show us some wonderful sights in the Algarve.

We went on this tour excursion as part of a bus tour. I had priced this excursion out before we arrived in Lagos and we could have done it cheaper than doing it through the bus company it was worth it. We rode on a largish sailing boat to the grottos where we then transfered to smaller 16 foot motor boats as we made our way in and out of each grotto. boat holding about 15 of us. All the boat hands were knowledgable and friendly. Deftly navigating in and out of the caves without bumping into any rocks or other boats. Drinks were available for purchase but since it was early in the day we just took water. Our guides pointed to various aspects of the coast providing interesting annectdotes as we rode. It was a wonderful time that made just a couple of hours feel like most of a day. I absolutely recommend these folks if you are at all interested in seeing the grottos.

Captain Jack (Sparrow ) deftly steered his boat in and out of the grottos and gave us an interesting and entertaining tour of the Ponta da Piedade cliffs. The tour length was perfect for us. I liked this tour so much that I booked the kayaking tour with Bom Dia. Highly recommended!
