Lagos: Dolphin Watching Tour + Marine Biologist Guide

WOW! Just WOW! We went looking for dolphins, and found Orca’s!!!!! With Orca around rhere is no dolphins, but what a show the Orca put on for us. A great guide, and some great positioning from the boat pilot meant we got some close views of them without being intrusive of the wild creatures. Comfy ride, on a fast boat, Knowledgeable great information in plenty of different languages, and a trip thats not to be forgotten…. Sooooo lucky. Absolutely worth the money. The only downside was we had to leave the Orca as time was up! Certainly recommend.

What an amazing experience! We got to see pods of bottlenose dolphins up close, jumping and playing. Our guide was fantastic too!

This was the MOST fun. I can't recommend this tour enough. It was great being out on the water but the amount of dolphins we saw who were all putting on a total show for us...WOW! We must have seen 100 +. Every single one of us (ages 50-10) enjoyed every second of it and couldn't get enough of the dolphins. Our guides: Rafa and Anna were INCREDIBLE and so knowledgeable. Anna shared so many new things about dolphins that I never knew and being a big dolphin fan my whole life- that was very impressive! This is a MUST to do on your trip. Don't think twice.

Went with our 4 and 6 year old, the crew were very friendly and ensured the little one’s safety; seating them appropriately and preparing them for the amazing speed the boat goes! The crew were very professional and found a large number of beautiful dolphins for us to see. Highly recommend this tour!

Saw dolphins, good facts and nice staff

We had so much fun on our tour! We chose to book ours in the morning for a better chance of seeing dolphins, and there were plenty of them! Even got to see two mamas feeding their babies. Our tour guides were awesome, and were very knowledgeable!

We had a great boat trip and luckily spotted dolphins. Instructors were great! Really cool trip! Good price! Would book it again at Seafaris!

Amazing experience. Absolutely breathtaking seeing the dolphins. Raphael and the lady on the boat were incredible. So knowledgable about the dolphins and we saw lots of dolphins.

It was such a lovely experience. Both Nidia and Rafael were incredible guides. They ensured everyone was safe at all times, and when we spotted dolphins Nidia gave us loads of great information about the specific dolphins we could see. Ive done this trip several times before and i would recommend it to everyone!

Wooowww, what an amazing tour we had we really recommend to go with this company! Friendly and helpful staff since the check in to the end of the tour. We saw an amazing group of wild dolphins, they explained us what we asked and shared some curiosities about this lovely animals. We'll be back for sure as we loved the all experience.

This is a well thought out excursion, with the well being of the dolphins a priority. I wasn't too sure when I saw the boat that was going to take us out, but boy was I glad I didn't chicken out, and went. The boat ride alone was great fun, loved it. As we approached the area to see the dolphins we slowed down to a virtual stop. Apparently the dolphins we saw were quite rare to see , they were Risso dolphins. They get heavy scarring on them from the octopus and squid they eat. It shows up white on them.

We travelled out into the ocean on 24th October full of hope to see dolphins and we were not disappointed! We saw two pods swimming together so around 50 dolphins and had time to observe for 30-40 minutes or so. An absolutely breathtaking experience. The crew on board and the support staff at the marina prior to and after our departure were so, so helpful and made the experience so memorable. Thank you Seafaris

Went on the 11:00 trip to see dolphns and wow, we weren't disappointed! Very soon out of the river mouth, they picked up an enormous pod of Common Dolphins, which swam around, under, in front and behind the boat as we tracked them for almost an hour, truly amazing. I'd taken binoculars to amke sure that we didn;t miss anything from far off, but they didn't get taken out of the bag. The dolphins were so close, adults, youg and babies, really beyond our expectations!

The crew were really nice and informative and kept us entertained the whole trip! Really enjoyed seeing the dolphins in their natural habitat and just being out at sea 😁 thank you for providing a great time 👍🏼 I recommend!

Great experience! Easily booked online. Sales staff very approachable when checking in. Crew very friendly and informative. Great boat ride out on Tornado and saw several dolphins as well as a small whale. Overall fab trip!

Really nice tour, booked the 9:30am one. We were 20 mins late because the boat before us had to travel a little farther to find the dolphins. But ofcourse these are wild dolphins, we cannot expect them to fit our timeline. Paula was our host on the boat and was lovely, she seemed to genuinely have an appreciation for the dolphins. And we were lucky enough to see many many of these beautiful dolphins. It’s definitely worth it. Would suggest carrying a jacket, it gets cold on the ride.

What a fabulous trip, Eduardo was our guide and he was really personable, friendly and informative. We managed to ser a pod of common dolphins which was so great. Eduardo also gave us some tips on where else to visit and wrote down the name of a restaurant that we might never have known about. Thoroughly recommend, book online for a discount.

We had such an amazing experience! Didn’t have to go out to sea very far at all and saw a school of 30-40 bottle nose dolphins. Had a chance to watch close up as well since the sometimes swam right along the zodiac or dove underneath. Guides were knowledgeable marine biologists and also obeyed all rules to ensure animals were not disturbed. We even got to see some of the caves on the wall back. Well worth it, can highly recommend.

The team were so professional. I was worried about seasickness and they advised me on the best day to go for a calm ride. Also the best place to sit to avoid feeling rough. They found us plenty of dolphins. A fabulous day out, as we also did the Benagil caves later that day. Superb service.

It was a very good experience. We got to see many dolphins, they were very close to the boat. The guide had a lot of information and was very enthusiastic. We accidentally booked the wrong date, and they kindly rebooked it for free. Overall, would recommend.

We had a great trip. The boat is fast and modern the crew knowledgeable and friendly. We were provided with jackets to keep us warm and dry by the staff on shore. We got lucky and found ourselves amongst a pod of dolphins almost straight away, and amazing experience.

We set out on a long speed boat, the Tornado, out to sea. The seats were comfy, waterproof coats were given to us to keep us warm. I loved the windy ride there, as we set out into the open ocean, away from land. It felt like an expedition with the 20 or so of us onboard, all in red coats. After, we found some dolphins and stopped to watch them. There were quite a lot of them, only 5-10 metres away. The ride back was just as pleasant. Thank you very much!

Really friendly staff, informative, attentive. Managed to see some dolphins really close up. We did get wet with the splashes but they had given us jackets

We did one dolphin tour in the afternoon without luck so the wonderful lady ( I think Sofia was her name) rescheduled us again for early next morning. Sam and Bruno took us out and success! We saw a group of dolphins and could observe them a long time. We got many explanations about their behavior and how to protect them. Thank you for an awesome experience!

We’d booked on a 12.30 trip but received a call the day before the trip to say that because rain was expected at 1pm so could we come on the 9.30 trip instead, which we did. The sea was quite choppy so we knew it would be difficult to see dolphins as all the waves looked like dolphin fins. The seats are very uncomfortable and we were bounced around a lot for 1 and a half hours while they sped all around looking for dolphins and they had given up when another guest spotted a few in the distance. Of course only the people on that side of the boat saw them as they all stood up blocking the view. I understand that there is no guarantee to see dolphins but we have done this trip previous years when we have had good dolphin sightings. I feel the company would have been better just to have cancelled the trip altogether and either rebooked us or refunded the money as we couldn’t even say we’d had a pleasant boat trip. The people running the trip are very nice though and did try their best to find dolphins but must have wasted a lot of fuel.

We booked this trip while staying in Luz. We were a family of 9 with ages ranging from 12-64 and booked the trip for 12.30pm 12/9/24 as to go to see the Dolphin's was on my "must do" list. We had an absolutely amazing time and saw both Dolphins and Porpoises. The crew were both so professional, informative and fun and made sure that we had a truly memorable experience. Which we did 100% so thank you crew :)) We all loved it and will remember it for many years to come. We hope to be back in 2026 to relive the experience. Very highly recommended :)).

It was a beautiful trip and we were so lucky to get up close with a humpback whale, hammer head shark and some dolphins. We would highly recommend it and definitely come back the next time we are in Lagos

We had the chance to see two groups of about 15 to 20 common dolpins and approach them from a distance. I particularly liked that we respected them, stayed at a distance and let them come close to the boat. The marine biologist and the staff provided information about their behaviors, which was very interesting. I was very happy to get to see these beautiful animals in their environment. Wunderful tour in a speedboat specially constructed for such tours. Competent guide and competent skipper. Saw a group of 15 dolphins very close to the boat. Took the early morning tour because the sea is more calm then.

We took 2.30pm trip from Lagos Marina. Boat ride was fun and found two lots of dolphins. I was surprised how far we travelled to try to locate them and nice amount of time watching the dolphins. Boat ride can be a bit bumpy as quite fast.

Amazing!! The crew was amazing and they could tell us all the things about the dolphins. I don't recommend it if you get seasick easily because you go into the ocean at high speed and of course the waves!! But it was really fun to do. saw many dolphins close to the boat. such an amazing experience!

The staff and the guides are super nice and take good care of the guests. Driving the boat was fun although we did not get to see too many dolphins the experience was worth it. Before leaving the organization will disclaim that they have no control over the wildlife and can’t guarantee success. Absolutely reasonable. If we come back again we will certainly go for another trip!

This Is the third time we have used seafaris to go dolphin watching from Lagos whilst visiting the Algarve and it was three for three in seeing lots of common dolphins - at one point on this trip we were literally surrounded by them as small groups popped up everywhere. We asked the guide at the end how many he thought we'd seen and he said it was a large pod of about 50-60 spread across quite a large area feeding in small groups. There were even some babies amongst them. The trip before we found the dolphins was a fun ride in the super stable tornado and all the crew friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

This was an excellent trip. Great activity to do with family. Very well organised. Comfortable boat. Captain And are very knowledgeable marine biologist who gave us lots of information regarding the dolphins that we saw. Good value for money.

We hadn't left the harbor yet and hit the gas! what a cool experience, the crew was super nice and told us about the dolphins, after 10 minutes of sailing we saw the first dolphins emerge, after steering to port and starboard we continued to follow the dolphins, amazing! the first thing we said when we moored back was, we will do this again, thank you for the wonderful experience

Friendly staff and a clean, safe boat. Everything went according to plan and we had a great time! We saw dolphins and they swam along the boat. So close we could’ve touched them if we had lean out.

We had a great time on this tour with our family of four (2 adults, 1 teen and 1 child). Bruno and Joáo were knowledge and made the tour fun! We went several locations to see dolphins, but didn’t see any other marine life on this day. My kids loved it, and it was one of their favorite parts of our trip to Portugal. Highly recommend!!

The crew wasnt communicating during the trip. It was ~2 hour long, but we didnt know what was happening, just tried to survive the speed of the boat - we werent prepared for. Maybe the weather was bad, we saw 2 dolphins coming up once, but thats all, and there were no more searching. It was a silent sightseeing along the shores on an extremely fast-speed boat. It was said that there is a biologist, well, he showed us a photo about the dolphins at the end of the tour.
