Best experience of our trip to Portugal Fun, safe, exhilarating ,absolutely beautiful. Went too fast! Loved swimming off the boat too. Crew, guide, all wonderful

Super fun day. Liked going early before it got too hot. The caves were beautiful, kayaking fun and the swim was refreshing. A nice way to see the city from a different perspective for a couple hours.

It was an okay trip. I went solo and I was paired up with someone else who didn’t know how to kayak, so it was a little frustrating vs enjoyable. I wish they would have solo kayaks. Also, the tour it’s self was only an hour if that and then they let you swim and the rest of the time is on the boat. It said 2 hours but we were back in an hour and a half or so. That was kind of frustrating. Overall, it was okay. Caves were busy with other kayaks and boats and it felt chaotic. Def go early!

Great kayak tour of the caves and rock formations. First take boat to get close to kayaking area, then 2 people per kayak (stronger kayaker sits in the back), then get a guided tour of the caves and ruins. Guide was very informative and funny and talked a lot about the rock formations and had amusing stories about what they looked like. Then had time to jump in the water and swim for 10-15 minutes. Water was cool but refreshing. Lots of fun, kayaking was mildly strenuous but easy overall. Highly recommend.

I was a solo female traveler and what I did appreciate about Blue Fleet vs the other kayaking companies is that they pair you up with a guide in the double Kayak instead of a random stranger. That also helped me feel safe and our guide, Miguel was great! He was great at keeping the group together, helping any kayak that was struggling and he was funny. A great double kayak partner! Why I knocked off a bubble is because this tour was a lot shorter than what I anticipated. I felt we went through just a couple of caves and then we were done and on the way back so Im not sure if the cost is worth the short tour, but the caves are beautiful. I also booked the earliest tour at 845 am thinking that it would avoid the crowds as I hear the afternoons get pretty packed but there were still a lot of kayakers on the ocean so be prepared to wait and bump into other groups too. Otherwise, the skipper and crew were great and the Blue Fleet location is easy to find!

Everything was extremely well organized, and our guide Michael was fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional. Exploring the spectacular cliffs, caves, and hidden corners of Ponta da Piedade from a kayak was an incredible experience. Being so close to the rocks and the water is something you simply cannot compare with seeing the coastline from a boat. The small group made the experience even more enjoyable and personal, and Michael gave us a great explanation along the way. It was an amazing adventure for the whole family, with beautiful scenery and unforgettable moments. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Algarve!

We met at the train station and that was very efficient and then we were taken to the boat. We left on time we were able to mount the kayaks and then they placed them on a ramp so it was very easy to get in and out of the water. The view from the kayak was spectacular. We traverse many arches and saw some very interesting rock formations. Our guide was very patient and waited for all of us.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. We had kids with us and it was very safe. I was concerned the ocean waves would make me seasick, but this area (especially with the coves) was super calm. Easy to navigate and safe. The tours lasts about 1 hour.

Really fun excursion. Very organized and worth the price. The trip was amazing. Loved being in the caves.

After my first kayak tour with Blue Fleet, the experience was so amazing and fun that I immediately booked another trip for the very next day. While the stunning coastline and caves of Lagos were unforgettable, what truly made both experiences so memorable was the crew. I was traveling solo, and on both trips the guides paired up with me in the kayak, making me feel less like a customer and more like part of the team. Their energy, humor, and genuine hospitality turned a great excursion into one of the highlights of my entire trip. A huge thank you to Michael, Gonzalo, and Rodrigo for making my time on the water so special. Their passion for what they do was evident throughout the tours, and they created an atmosphere that was welcoming, fun, and engaging from start to finish. When I return to Lagos next year, I will absolutely be booking with Blue Fleet again. And if I'm lucky, I'll get to see my boat crew once more. Thank you for the memories—I can't wait to come back!

This was a great experience and a fantastic way to see Ponta da Piedade. The tour takes you by boat from the harbor to the cliffs where you then get in the water in your kayak. Most kayaks were tandem, but there was at least one single kayak in our group. You follow the guide into a couple different caves, coves, and grottoes where you have a chance to sit and admire the scenery. Despite some stronger than usual winds when we went out, much of the time we were sheltered from the wind and the paddling was pretty easy. My only complaint is that I didn't want to get back in the boat at the end I was having so much fun! I highly recommend getting the earliest launch time since things get crowded later in the day and it seems like the winds typically get stronger too. There are no lockers, but you can take a bag with your valuables on the boat that are kept in a cabin. These are self draining, open kayaks so you will get wet. Dress appropriately and make sure any camera or phones are protected. When we went it was pretty cool in the morning on the trip out so we wore extra layers before getting out to paddle. If you are coming by car, there is a small paved parking lot next to the meeting location that fills up quickly, but there is a large gravel lot just next to it that provides more parking options (although it got crowded as the day went on too).

Amazing views! Kayaking gives you a unique perspective of the caves and natural rock formations. The boat ride to and from the kayaking was lovely too. Water was freezing to jump in at the end but worth it!

This relatively short activity-based tour will be one of the highlights of our visit to the Algarve. Our morning timing was fortunate as the tide, sea and weather conditions all aligned to provide an optimal experience. The small group size (12) was ideal allowing everyone to hear our guide while in their kayaks. Safety was stressed, assistance given if needed but a sense of adventure was created. The beautiful cliffs, arches and caves were magnificent. Seeing them from our positions on the water while getting a bit of exercise was top notch. Highly recommended.

Fabulous day! Amazing views. Our guide Gonzales and his team were amazing. Great sense of humour, professional, tailored to all levels. Note: you do have to walk 20 mins out of the historic centre to cross the bridge, and arrive at the Blue Fleet Kiosk . Follow Google Maps or equivalent. They shuttled us via a boat and then unload the kayaks from the boat! Would highly recommend!!

Staff was friendly Unfortunately, sea was too rough for kayaks so trip was ultimately cancelled which was disappointing but certainly out of staff control

This is a great way to see the cliffs & caves of Ponta da Piedade. With the kayak we were able to get into smaller spots boats can't. We also did a boat tour of Benagil caves the next day and the two trips compliment each other, not a replacement for each other. Your butt will get wet, but otherwise you do not go in the water even to enter/exit the kayak. The kayaking effort was easy going.

Such a great experience, we had so much fun! Everyone on the boat was super friendly and kind. We enjoyed swimming after the kayaking even though the water was freezing!

An incredible way to experience the coast with our friendly and knowledgeable guide Michael. Water was a bit cool at this time of year (Feb) but still completely enjoyable. We even managed a quick and extremely refreshing swim at the end! Wear clothes you’re comfortable getting wet in and bring a towel, hat, sunglasses, and camera/phone bag.

This review is just to say that we were extremely impressed with Blue Fleet. We visited Lagos in late December 2025 and unfortunately our two days there were rainy with high seas so we were not able to to. The company kept us informed and refunded us promptly. So while we were sorry to miss the trip, the company gave us great service. We also liked their location right at the train station.

This was by far the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Even though my wife is a non swimmer, the kayaks are safe and easily manoeuvred. The guide was great with a good sense of humour.

The highlight of our trip to Lagos and a must do if you love kayaking and are in for fun. Rodrigo, Michael and Nuno were great tour guides - fun, entertaining and knowledgeable. The route had some amazing caves and sights. Highly recommended if you want to see the Titanic, the iceberg, an elephant and Pinocchio. ;-)
