The whole experience was wonderful. We visited 3 restaurants and at each one tasted 3 traditional dishes. The selections were different at each restaurant and gave a good representation of Portuguese food. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Lagos and also gave us some history as we walked around town in between restaurants.

This was a really good food tour with food unique to the Algarve region. Sofia was fun and informative. I recommend it.
Sophia was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and so much fun. Food was delicious and plentiful. So was the wine and beer. Highly recommend this tour!
This food tour is a great way to try some local spots and foods you might not try on your own. its a fun way to connect with other travelers and learn sime Portuguese history. Our guide, Sophia was informative, welcoming and warm.and friendly . We would highly recommend this tour!
Sophia our guide was warm and knowledgeable she gave us great backstory and history on places in Lagos we had already visited on our own around the town. We visited 4 stops which might sound small but it was actually the perfect amount. It was a very hot day but the tour had just the right mix of time spent inside and outside. The right balance between walking and having enough time to enjoy the food, drinks and stories without feeling rushed. We started by the local fish market which wasn't open since it was a Monday, so if you want to see the fish market make sure you don’t book on a Monday. There was zero pressure to buy anything though the local produce was so good that we did. The tour is best suited for pescatarians and meat eaters. If you love desserts, have a sweet tooth you will definitely enjoy.
What a fun food tour! Our guide was wonderful! The quality of food and fun environments of each spot really made this an enjoyable evening!
Sophia was a wonderful host/guide. Loved the authentic Portuguese experience!
We were very disappointed in this tour. For almost $600CAD for 4 people, this was not worth the money. We have done food tours all over the world and this was the worst one. The first 2 stops were ok - authentic Portuguese. However, the last stop is what ruined it. We were taken to a commercial tourist trap restaurant on the boardwalk and served a small portion of tempura green beans (?) and “octopus stew” in a pot to share, as well as 2 tiny slices of cake to be shared between 4 people. The stew was mostly beans and not enjoyable. I feel like this last stop was an afterthought. The amount of money spent on the 4 of us in food was likely no more than $150. This was a huge rip off and we wouldve been better off doing our own self-guided tour. Would not recommend.
A very enjoyable and entertaining afternoon with the excellent Sophie as our guide. There were 8 people in our group, and Sophie managed us wonderfully. Excellent selection of food in different restaurants, and a (somewhat surprisingly!) great experience in the food market. Highly recommended.
Sophia is a knowledgeable and delightful guide. Choices for food and wine tasting were excellent! Fun experience.
This was a great food walking tour with plenty of food. The food was delicious, especially the razor clams. We tried so many different kinds of authentic Portuguese dishes. Highly recommend and our guide Sophie was excellent.
This was a lovely experience. Excellent classic food and drink. Johnny was a terrific tour guide. Very knowledgeable, engaging and super friendly. Will recommend to family and friends 🧡
Sophia was excellent!! She was so sweet and shared a lot of information with us! She took us to authentic Portugal restaurants to try a variety of foods. I highly recommend this tour.
Fun little tour in Old Town Lagos. Our guide was informative and entertaining, and she shared some hidden dining jewels with us. I would definitely go again. I only wish we could have done this sooner than our last night.
Tour was so informative and our guide, Sophia, was exceptional. Restaurants she took us to and the sampling and history of the Portugal food and culture made our trip to Lagos even more special. Highly recommend this food tour!
Loved the walk, the history, the knowledge and of course the food! Met great people and had a great host. Definitely recommend.
The food tour was so fun, We visited 3 restaurants & tried typical Portuguese food. Actually we tried items we would have never ordered on our own but the choices were excellent. Highly recommended!!
Wonderful food tour. Touched on different foods and history of Lagos and the Algarve.
Tons of food and met some awesome other travelers. The food tastings were so delicious. The guide was hilarious and engaged with everyone
Our guide Sofia was excellent. She took us to three different restaurants explained all the dishes provided us with wine and many stories that were entertaining. I thought the trip was well worth it and I would recommend it to anyone.
Sophia was a wonderful guide, friendly and warm. she enjoyed sharing her cities food with the group. This was a really fun tour!
Great experience - good was outstanding. And great knowledge of Portuguese history. Would definitely recommend.
It was a lovely market visit, followed by a couple of restaurants. Well organised and Sophia gave great recommendations for local restaurants afterwards.
Sophia was a wonderful tour guide. Loved all three restaurants. Was a great opportunity to explore Lagos and enjoy traditional Portuguese food that we may have not had the opportunity to know about. It was nice to meet other travellers and to enjoy the experience in a small group setting.
Sophia was a knowledgeable and humorous guide who knows the area intimately. The variety of food options was impressive and the flavors excellent. We got a little history mixed in with the tasting options. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Sophia was wonderful and we especially loved the authentic horseshoe bar.
Sophia was the best. We got a mini tour of old town Lagos on top of a lot of food wine and beer. Also "fire water" (Portuguese moonshine) honey and much more. It was an experience we very much enjoyed and highly recommend to everyone.
Well worth the money. The morning tour took us through the market with tastings. We then went to two local authentic restaurants for more Portuguese tastings. We finished with a stop for sweets at one last restaurant. Sofia was an amazing host and tour guide.
Our tour guide, Esther took us to 3 different restaurants to try local cuisine. She introduced to us to dishes that we would not have picked. They were delicious. Thank you!
Sophia is incredible! She took us to my new favorite restaurant in Lagos. It was all local and authentic Portuguese. It felt a little expensive, but the people made it worth it!!
This is a delightful tour! Sonya was warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The food tastings were delicious! A great tour to add to your vacation! I highly recommend!
Highly recommended: A well-coordinated small-group adventure featuring yummy Portuguese foods and artisanal products; featuring tastes of seafood, bread, jams/jellies, and interesting food combinations; the engaging guide highlighted interesting buildings and city squares along the path connecting the tasting sites. By the end of the tour, I was a well-fed happy camper.
Our tour guide Sophia was great , very warm and friendly and knew a lot about the local cuisine and history. We visited 3 restaurants serving authentic Portuguese food and wines. Overall a great evening, you probably won’t need to eat before you go unless you have big appetite and walking wise it wasn’t stressful. Would definitely recommend.
Sophie is a delightful host organizing a delightful three restaurant tapas, wine and desert walking tour of charming old town Lagos. Very informative about true Portuguese food, folklore and local customs. You cant go wrong picking this tour for a local dining adventure. We will be back!
We did the 3 hour evening tour with Joao. The whole evening was great fun and we experienced many different dishes and lots of drink! Joao was brilliant, very knowledgeable and a super guide. First class, all of it!
Sofia was an excellent guide who gave us a detailed food experience and a fun time. She is extremely knowledgeable.
Our tour guide was Sophie. We did 4 stops in Lagos at traditional Portuguese food and drink. Sophie was absolutely excellent and also included some interesting history and explanations. . Would highly recommend end Sophie.
This is the best food tour I ever had. We enjoyed food tours all over the world and this one is in the top. Sofia is a great guide and not only she took us to great places to eat delicious Portuguese dishes she also taught us about the history of Lagos and local cuisine.
we went to three authentic Portuguese restaurants. We began sharing starters top of style. Then went onto an authentic restaurant to share a main dish and seafood. Finishing with some authentic dishes and dessert. We enjoy drinks along the way. An excellent experience. Sophia was a terrific guide.
We loved this! Sofia was wonderful! She was very pleasant to spend 3 hours with. She blended historical, scientific and relevant information in a very captivating manner. The food was unique and excellent and each restaurant was totally different. One of our members is a vegetarian and she took very good care of her. It was very worth the money and the time flew by!
The tour was educational and delicious. We learned about the local culture and got to meet many small business owners while trying fresh and delicious local foods. Our host was kind and accommodating for dietary restrictions
Super fun time! Good food, good guide, nice group of people. Great way to try different local specialties. The sting ray was surprisingly good! The guide was very personable and knowledgeable!
Sophia the tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable about the foods, the culture and the area. The food we tasted were amazing from the pork sandwich to the bean stew everything was excellent.
This might be the best thing to participate in Lagos. We enjoyed most interesting guidance from Louis about history, food, culture and how they are connected. We visited different restaurants and tried delicious delicasies. Lovely evening and excellent food. ❤️
We had a fantastic tour of three great Portuguese restaurants in Lagos, run by locals. Sophia as our guide was amazing. Beautiful food and company. Amazing
Sophia gave us the best food tour imaginable. We visited three different restaurants and got to try 9 different local dishes. Sophia was a great guide, very knowledgeable of both the dishes and the history of Lagos. We were a small company which also gave us time to chat and get to know each other a little bit. All and all a perfect evening!
I appreciated the sweetness and knowledge of our guide, and the evening was pleasant. Timing and number of stops seemed appropriate. Still, it did not feel like good value. We visited three spots and had one drink at each. The first stop included four tastings, the second had two, and the last had two including dessert. Tastings were mostly two small tapas-style portions split among four couples, so there were no real meals. The restaurant picks felt fair and the wine was just okay. After reflecting on the experience, I feel the €200 would have been better spent elsewhere. We actually left our kayak tour with more practical, written recommendations. Tip for the operator: Consider sharing a simple handout or text with the names of each dish and drink, plus where we had them. I wanted to use the tour to learn Portuguese food terms and expand my palate, without taking notes during the evening. I did not see menus and could not recall the names afterward. A written list would help guests order more confidently for the rest of their trip.
They are going to eat a lot! Sophia was friendly and knowledgeable not only about the food and drinks but about the history and culture. We had four people so it was like going out with friends
This was so fun! My your guide was very funny and knowledgeable, and all the food and drinks were excellent! Would definitely recommend!
We loved the tour our guide was super friendly and the food was excellent. My favorite dish was the pork and I loved the wine. Overall a great experience.
