Muhammed our tour guide was very knowledgeable. The only frustration was out of the 8 of us, 2 were given a starting time of 10am, 4 were given a starting time of 8am and the rest of us were given a starting time of 9am. Very unprofessional. If I hadn't checked WhatsApp the night before I never would have known it was starting at 8am. As it was we ended up waiting until 9:20 because the couple who had a 10am starting point never got the message. Very frustrating. Other than that the tour was good.

Karim was a tremedous guide, super kind and friendly. Answer all question with enthousiasm. The tour was complete and super interesting
We were picked up from our hotel on-time, the car was very clean and comfortable and we felt safe for the entire journey. The guide had a wealth of knowledge about all things Egyptian and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Mahmoud and Ahmed for a very enjoyable day. Stephen and Jacqui.
It was a fun day, probably better classified as a half day tour as we finished at 2.30 which we were happy with. Saw main sites and gave us an idea of Alexandria and it's history. Our guide was friendly and informative with a few laughs along the way. Highly recommend.
I enjoyed the tour to El Alamein Military Museum and war cemeteries. Heba, my guide was good and provided a lot of relevant and useful information enroute and at each site. Since the journey takes about 3 hours, a tourist should get atleast 4 hours on site for the tour to be meaningful. A bottle of water should be provided on the tour. Some information by the guide on the historic battles of El Alamein in 1942-43 including participants, dates, places, outcomes would be a bonus. Use of a map would provide a better perspective.
Our guide Heba was a wealth of knowledge and her smile humour and interaction made the day excellent. Our driver kept us safe in the Alexandria traffic. Good tour, good laughs. Thanknyou Heba for a wonderful tour
Narhan was very good, very proffesional and very helpful with big knowledge in history. I totally recommend her.
Heba and Mohamed Fathy were a dream team for a tour! Heba was so knowledgeable at every single site and floored me with her ability to make us excited at every site. She was able to connect different historical figures and sites together, she figured out our vibe fast and was just a joy to spend the day with. I truly felt at every location I was getting a story I would actually remember and be able to tell my friends about. In addition she gave us moments alone to enjoy the beauty of where we were, took incredible photos for us, and managed to find a restaurant to accommodate my husband and I’s different appetite as well as find a restaurant that had a view of Greek/Egyptian historical site AND a view of the sea! She was the best tour guide I’ve had in Egypt. Mohamed was also spectacular, gorgeous car, smooth driving, and even went and grabbed us water. He was awesome. My only complaint was with the booking company itself, they sent a bunch of long texts that contained a change in our tour time and never confirmed that I saw the change. They instead focused on trying to sell me a different service. But Heba and Mohamed were such a joy that by the time we got to the first site I completely forgot.
Good choice to see the city, and the tourist guide had knowledge, and was punctual and kind, I recommend it!!!
The tourguide, Heba, was really nice and flexible. She made our trip as nice as possible. We could do visits not included in the trip by ourselves (and at our own expences) while she waited patiently. And as we had a driver we did not have to worry about traffic at all!
I would like to express my deep satisfaction with the excellent organization of this outing. The driver, Ehab, was very kind and drove safely, which immediately put us at ease. Our guide, Heba, demonstrated remarkable professionalism: she took the time to explain the city’s history and its key monuments with clarity and passion, making the visit both informative and captivating. I highly recommend Heba for her teaching skills and dedication, and Ehab for his reliability behind the wheel. Many thanks to the whole team for this exceptional day — we were truly amazed and now have a much deeper understanding of the historical development of Alexandria. Kind regards, Mr Dacosta
Our guide Heba and driver Essen were both excellent. We enjoyed our day visiting the cemeteries and museum of El Alamein. Heba even arranged a delicious lunch for us.
Heba and Mahmoud were the absolute best. They made the entire day so enjoyable, they were so knowledgeable and it was an amazing experience. I could not recommend this tour more! It was perfect for two and it included admission to many places plus a meal!
This was a great tour. My guide Heba and driver Mahmoud were amazing. I felt like a VIP. She has the best knowledge amd was giving me goodies for all the questions I got right. Highly recommend her. 10/10 service
Our guide, Waleed, was great. Very personable and knowledgable. His English was practically perfect. He planned our day to get to sites that he knew would be busier later in the day. The lunch spot he selected served delicious Egyptian food. I would recommend him again to anyone for sure!
Brilliant day exploring the beautiful city of Alexandria. Our guide Mr Mohamed is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and has excellent English. He's so knowledgeable and passionate about all things Egypt but especially ancient Egypt, hieroglyphs and linguistics. Just simply a fascinating day. Our driver Akmed was incredibly good. We felt comfortable and safe all day. 5*s
It's an intense day, as we kept moving briskly but not too fast. We saw everything! Would like to spend more time at Library and see more of the Roman ruins. Our guide Karim and driver Mahmoud were excellent!
We are grateful to our guide Nihad Hassan, who was superb. She put everything in the right perspective for us, and allowed us time to explore by ourselves as well. We greatly appreciated her excellent English as well!
Extraordinary experience, very well recommended! Best in town guide Noor! You also need a experienced driver in order to explore Alexandria and ours (Essam) was exceptional!
A good tour to see the highlights of Alexandria with a local guide to explain the history and significance of each site. We started at 9:30 am and finished at 5:30 pm. Our only complaint is that the vehicle provided was to small for 6 people (4 tourists, driver& guide) and we were cramped into the back 3rd row seats. There was quite a lot of time spent in the vehicle due to the roads jammed with crazy traffic and the distance between sites.
Long drive from Cairo to Alexandria but break it up halfway with a coffee or juice - very fast drive on very good roads. Alexandria is beautiful and part of the greco Roman history of Egypt, and as relics ar ebrought up rom the sea will become an increasingly interesting place to visit
Our guide Waleed was fantastic and had a great knowledge of Alexandria and the history. We had Ahmet as driver and he was great navigating safely in the busy traffic. We had time to fully appreciate each location without being rushed. Thank you and very enjoyable.
Our full-day tour with Waleed was exceptional! We saw all of the sites and he provided incredible expertise and knowledge throughout the day! Welcoming and humorous, Waleed is an incredible guide! He introduced us to amazing local food and even Turkish coffee. Overall incredible experience!
Waleed was an exceptional guide. Helped bring the history to life with humor and expertise. He definitely kept us on our toes with humorous anecdotes about donkeys, big feet, and chickens! Absolutely incredible experience! He even introduced us to some local foods and made a special stop for us to try Turkish coffee. Our tour with him is definitely one of the high points of our trip! Phenomenal experience overall!
Guide tried to skip one of the destination, but after force she brought us there. Overall it was nice to explore Alex.
Our guide mr Mahmud was excellent with the highest quality of historical knowledge and he explain every aspect of the tour and the monuments, driver was very good, the tour was well organized and the food at the end was top notch.Highly recommended!
Had a great time! Waleed was awesome and extremely knowledgeable! We made it to all the sites and learned a bunch about each! Has the best Koshary in all of Alexandria too! Highly recommend this as it’s a great way to see Alexandria and its history!
Our guide Karim arrived on time. Disappointing, although the booking was for 4 people and the VIP your, the vehicle was only a medium sized SUV so with 6 people including the driver, 3 people had to sot on the back seat and 1 person jad yo crawl into the space behind the seats- not very comfortable gor all and certainly not suitable. In terms of needing to aee as many of the sights of Alexandria in one day, this tour hits most of the high points in quite a well organised way that we arrived at before most of the crowds. Karim was quite knowledgeable although tended to speak very fast with a well rehearsed spiel .
Operator cheated us by charging for the entrance to the catacombs and the library. Those site entrance tickets were included on the website.
We joined this tour in order to see the most of Alexandria especially the new library. For years we have searched for boats going to Alexandria. It was an excellent tour.the guide was very knowledgable.Unfortunately we had too little time at the library. One small critisism: We were taken to our lunch only at 15h30 and then rushed at 16h00 to get back to the cruiseship.Surely we could have had lunch at 12h00-13h00? All in all it was great value for money. We were a bus full of people which also took longer to climb in- and out. my husband is 82 and I am 70.We thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Mahmoud was an excellent tour guide and showed us all around Alexandria. Had fun at all the stops and enjoyed the lunch. The only downsides were the fairly long walk (NOT 3 minutes) from the cruise ship to the meeting point, and the somewhat rundown appearance of the tour van.
This was, without question, the worst tour experience I have ever booked. I urge others to avoid it. 1. Zero Communication & Safety Risk: The tour guide never contacted us after booking. The provided meeting location was completely incorrect, literally mapping to an unsafe spot near Alexandria Port. We had to rely on a friend's driver to drop us at the Cecil Hotel at 9:00 AM. We were left stranded with no guide and no contact until we reached out to Viator customer support ourselves. When the guide finally called, he directed us to walk for 30 minutes to meet him. Being left stranded and feeling completely unsafe in an unfamiliar country is unacceptable. 2. Poor Guide Quality: Once the tour finally started, the guide's performance was subpar. His English was very poor, making it nearly impossible to communicate effectively or understand the historical explanations. 3. Itinerary Failure: The tour failed to deliver the promised itinerary. Key sites, like the Citadel of Qaitbay, were not visited. We spent most of the time driving, with the guide simply pointing out major attractions from the car with a quick "it's on the right," rather than stopping or entering. This tour was a complete waste of money and severely impacted our day. The organization was non-existent, and the failure to confirm the meeting point put our safety at risk. I demand a full refund.
Excellent experience covering the main sights to see in the limited time available. There were 15 of us in the small comfortable coach led by our very knowledgable and efficient guide Mahmout. Highlights were a short visit to the amazing futuristic library; the catacombs; and the royal palace grounds. 7 hour tour including optional lunch. Back to the port for cruise liner. Well recommended.
I took the Alexandria tour with multiple cultural and archaeological stops throughout the city. Essam, the driver, was excellent, calm (which is essential for driving in Egypt!) and always smiling, despite the traffic. Macy, the guide, was fantastic, kind, and genuinely wanted me to have a wonderful day that met my expectations, even suggesting additional options (e.g., short stops) to add to the itinerary. In fact, it was my best tour since arriving in Egypt, and that's largely thanks to her. At the Library of Alexandria and the Sadaat Museum, Shaza, the guide at this small museum, was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about everything on display. It was a full and very interesting day, especially thanks to Macy's work. I have rarely seen a guide so attentive to her clients' needs!
Flawless!! What an amazing day in Alexandria! Our guide Paula met us right on time with an expert driver in a comfortable air conditioned coach. All needs were met without hesitation, driver was professional and courteous. Paula was extremely knowledgable and it felt less like being on a tour and more like having a friend show you around their hometown. Through the chaos of a bustling city we were well cared for and even when we had a specific request, he made a phone call and made it happen. Lunch was amazing as well. Don’t miss your chance to see the city as a local! Can’t say enough about the perfect day we spent is Alexandria.
Our guide, Mahmoud was excellent and very knowledgeable. We took this Tour as a shore excursion and pick up was easily found just outside the Port gates near the Mosque.
Walid was an excellent guide. Saw many different areas of Alexandria. It was a full day in a small passenger van. Lunch was ok.
Mohamed our tour guide is very knowledgeable professional very helpful he explained and showed us the sites in Alexandria
We had a wonderful tour with Mahmut! He was extremely passionate when telling stories and explaining the rich history of Alexandria, which made the experience engaging and memorable. At one point we even crossed paths with another tour guide, who described Mahmut perfectly: “He’s the ChatGPT Egyptian version”—and we couldn’t agree more! The tour gave us a great overview of Alexandria. If we had one wish, it would be to spend more time exploring the Library, as it’s such an iconic landmark. Also, we believe the lunch could be improved a bit considering the overall price of the tour. Overall, Mahmut is a fantastic guide and we truly appreciated his knowledge, enthusiasm, and friendly energy.
horrible experience. we were booked and ticketed for a 11:00 am private tour. when we got to the appointed pickup area. no one from our tour was there. we were swarmed by aggressive tour operators that upset our child extremely. we contacted the tour operator and they told us we were suppose to be on an 8:00 am group tour which wasn’t what our ticket indicated. we were not offered any help. eventually tripadvisor authorized a refund but that doesn’t replace the lost experience or help the emotional trauma the child went thru.
It was an informative, comprehensive tour of the many attractions in Alexandria. Our guide Mohammed was the best part. Mohammed was extremely personable and made us feel welcome and special. Would highly recommend this tour.
Beyond expectations. Muhammad was our guide and he is very knowledgeable, explained everything in detail. Got an experience of a lifetime. Seen Alexandria new and old.
I really appreciated thebuse of WhatsApp having been sent photos of the mosque we were meeting at and a photo of our guide this made locating Mohammed really easy. The day was well planned and went according to schedule. Mohammed was a well informed guide that create an atmosphere where you could ask questions. He was also funny. Would definitely recommend to friends. The only thing that would have made it better would be having the option to go into the library. The architecture was of interest to me so I was disappointed when we couldn't. Overall a great tour and well worth the. money.
It is a very informative excursion on Alexandria and Egypt, Mohamed our guide has a tremendous memory and history of his country. A very good use of your time if you choose this venue.
Very knowledgeable guide. Friendly. Showed us Alexandria’s sights. May have spent too much time at St Michael’s church and catacombs. Didn’t afford us time to see amphitheater. Overall, good tour.
Excellent trip, well guided by Walid. Saw all the interesting sites in Alexandria, just what we wanted.
Professional Essential Guidance for the first time visitor to Alexandria. A thoroughly enjoyable and informative experience.
We had a wonderful trip through Alexandria with Mohamed and the friendly driver. Mohamed explained a lot about the different attractions and answered with patience every single question of mine. Also he was very attentive and friendly. So we could get a good overview about the history of Alexandria and felt well during the whole time. We can warmly recommend this full day trip with Mohamed 🌞😃.
We had an amazing excursion from Cairo to Alexandria with Karim! He was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and made the whole day unforgettable. Everything was so well organized, and we learned so much while also having fun. Our driver was extremely kind and made the long journey very comfortable, and the second guide was absolutely perfect as well. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Egypt!
Me and my mom had the best time on our Alexandria trip with Mr. Mohammed! From the very beginning, he made us feel welcome and took great care of us throughout the day. His knowledge of Alexandria’s history and culture was amazing, and he explained everything in such a clear and engaging way. He was patient, attentive, and made sure both of us were comfortable and enjoying every moment. The whole experience felt relaxed, safe, and so much fun. What made the trip truly special was Mr. Mohammed’s kindness and warm personality—he made us feel like we were exploring the city with a trusted friend. This was a memory me and my mom will always treasure. We highly recommend him to anyone visiting Alexandria!
