Alexandria Full Day Tour

Arrived via cruise and majority of pax took the ships tour but we decided that we wanted to experience the real Alexandria and it’s people and this tour not only delivered that but far exceeded our expectations, it was perfect ! Our guide for the day, Heba was a truly smazing person, immediately putting us at ease, introducing us to the city with her wealth of knowledge but also taking time to understand what we wanted from the day. The result was our best. tour in 50 yrs of travelling together. We were able to interact with Heba and her flexible approach led to us walking the back streets and market areas, always feeling safe in her hands and experiencing amazing sights, sounds and the real Alexandria. Thank you again Heba you were not only our guide but our friend, you are the very best of the best and we really appreciated the time we spent with you. On returning to the ship and comparing our experience with that of fellow passengers, we can confidently say this is the very best tour of Alexandria, don’t miss the opportunity to interact with the local people they are amazing !

This was such a good little tour. It was a great intro to Alexandria to get orientated!!! Karim gave such top notch service. It’s a great starting place for any visit to Alexandria or if you have a very short time to spend here.

We had the pleasure of discovering Alexandria on a private tour with Rasha – and we couldn't have wished for a better guide! Rasha is exceptionally friendly, warm-hearted, accommodating and flexible. She tailored the tour to our wishes: whenever we found something particularly interesting, she gave us plenty of time to explore and enjoy it at our own pace. Less interesting stops were shortened accordingly. She also provided us with a wealth of fascinating information about Alexandria, its history and the sights we visited, and patiently and knowledgeably answered every single one of our questions. Her German is excellent, making communication absolutely effortless. As this was a private tour exclusively for the two of us, we were able to enjoy everything at our own pace. We actually got to see considerably more than on the excursions offered by MSC – and, to top it all off, the tour was significantly cheaper! An absolute must-do! If you are visiting Alexandria on a cruise ship, we strongly recommend checking first whether Rasha's tour is available on your date and booking it without hesitation. Karim was wonderful guide! He is knowledgeable, funny, and very kind. We covered many key elements of Alexandria’s history, culture, and religion in about 4.5 hours. I highly recommend Karim for solo travelers.

Shaimaa Gaber was very knowledgeable and interesting. The pace of the tour was appropriate, giving us ample free time at each location. She was also willing to do any extra stops we wanted to. Sometimes she talked a little fast and was difficult to follow. We very much enjoyed the tour and liked the stops we went to. It was easy for us to buy the required tickets with credit card and amounted to about $30 USD. (Even getting a few in advance to avoid line ups)

This was a GREAT tour of all the highlights of Alexandria with Heba, our tour guide and Hany, our driver. We had a private tour and were very well taken care of. Heba was excellent and very knowledgeable about all the sites that we visited and Hany was always there with the car to collect us after visiting each site. Heba had a great balance of telling us the history of each site, guiding us around and providing us time on our own to explore. We really enjoyed getting to know both Heba and Hany and would highly recommend this tour should you want to see all the highlights of Alexandria in 6 hours.

Very smooth tour. Karim is very good, caring, knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended to him. His coworkers were very helpful before meeting Karim.

Rasha was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable and at the same time gave us options on what to visit. She helped us buying a special blend of Turkish coffee at the Brazilian coffee shop. 😁 If I come back to Alexandria, I will book a tour with her again. Maria

Karim took me on a tour through Downtown on a Friday evening. We tasted lovely food at different local favourite restaurants. We looked at the sights on the way. Ice cream and lovely warm desserts followed, inbetween we walked the buzzling souq markets, looked at people shopping for clothes and toys and jewellery and veggies and fish. A real Alexandrian immersion! Karim has a lovely sense of humour and explains the local ways very nicely. I had a great time snd am looking forward to doing other tours with him when visiting Alexandria next time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars for sure!

We booked directly with Ramasside tours. Pick up at our hotel. Mahmoud was our guide for the day. We visited all the wonderful sights of Alexandria. Mahmoud's knowledge on the history of Egypt is exceptional. He is also an archaeologist and having his explanation to the diggings of the sites is wonderful. Thanks so much for an interesting day in Alexandria. Highly rate Mahmoud as an expert guide.

A really great experience with Heba - I described in advance what I was looking for and I got that and more. You meet a guide at the beginning and you leave having developed a friendship. I’m a photographer so I was looking for angles and views and different things happening. Highly recommend this. You’ll know Alexandria so well ::)

Kareem was a marvelous tour guide—very considerate, knowledgeable and informative

Karim was an amazing tour guide. He planned the day perfectly, we went to the open air spots earlier so the heat wouldn't get to overwhelming. When the day started getting warmer we went to the inside spots with aircon. He took special care so I had all the time I needed at every spot, and awnsered all my questions. He was the perfect guide.

Karim was very enthusiastic, friendly and informative. He picked us up on time and kept to our schedule seeing all the sites promised. It was even more enjoyable as he seemed to know everyone in Ciaro and being with him meant no queuing for entry. His English is excellent so communication was easy. I would highly recommend him as your guide in Alexandria.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with our guide Rasha and driver Heny!!!! They were punctual picking us up at our hotel at 9am. We were returned at 3pm. Rasha spoke English very clearly. She was very knowledgeable about the history and sites in Alexandria. She listened to what we wanted to do and answered all of our questions. We did not get dropped off at a shopping district and did not feel rushed while visiting the sites. The Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays so we visited the Jewelry Museum instead. Henry was a good and friendly driver. It was an informative tour and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Rasha and Henry!!

I had the most amazing time on our tour with Rasha. She was very kind, well spoken, and knowledgeable. Rasha answered our many many many questions - both about the sites and about Egyptian culture and practices. She allowed us to have opinions on sites to stop at and areas to prioritize. She made sure we were comfortable at all times! I loved Rasha’s insights on the sites and the details! Pickup and drop off were smooth, logistics were excellent. We had a comfortable time in the car with Hany and Rasha - there was no waiting for pickup between sites! I would recommend this tour to any and everyone - it is exactly what you need to see and appreciate Alexandria!

I had a great time touring around Alexandria. My guide was Karim and he was super attentive,knowledgeable, and flexible. He provided details at each destination while also allowing some solo exploring time. Despite the library being closed (on Fridays and Saturdays, which the company communicated ahead of time), we were still able to find things to explore and do. The communication was spot on and very clear and professional. I had a great tour.

We had a great day with Kareem. When I booked the tour, I didn't know Kareem was such a celebrity! He even had a page mentioned in the Lonely Planet guide! He knows absolutely everybody in town. He was extremely knowledgeable. The trip was very well organized, hitting all the highlights of Alexandria and summarized well at our last stop of the citadel (the spot of the old lighthouse.) He was very polite and courteous. We learned a lot about everyday culture and customs in Alexandria.

She was an outstanding guide who made sure we got all the interesting historical information, while also contextualizing the history within the modern day. And the sights were all fascinating—one would be remiss not to get to Alexandria and experience its beauty during a trip to Egypt. Among other things, we had the opportunity to see the Library of Alexandria, catacombs, Pompey’s Pillar and the surrounding area, as well as Qaitaby Fort. We had time to wander and explore, never feeling rushed. Don’t hesitate to book: it will be a time well-spent with Rasha. Thank you for a great day!

We were contacted by Tour Egypt before our tour to confirm the pick up details and introduce our guide, Karim. Karim was fabulous - he set out the itinerary and made each step of the tour interesting with facts and stories. The tour allowed us to experience many different sides of Alexandria which we would otherwise have missed, and in excellent company. Tour length was perfect and Karim’s timings meant that we avoided the crowds on a busy Easter period. Admission fees were payable at each building, but they all accepted cards and Karim advised on what tickets were needed. Best for: travellers looking to see different parts of a fascinating city which has a long and varied history, with a super guide. 😁

My wife and I had not previously been to Alexandria and we wanted to see the sights and get an overview of the city. This tour was perfectly suited to that purpose and the guide, Karim, was stellar. He got us around efficiently and somehow avoided the crowds. He seemed to know everyone and we never waited in line. He was fun, attentive, well educated, and spoke great English. We had a great day in Alexandria and wholeheartedly recommend this tour and this guide.

I had a wonderful experience on this tour in Alexandria. It was truly an enjoyable and informative journey where we learned so much about Egyptian history, including fascinating insights about the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and many other historical sites. Rasha was knowledgeable, thoughtful and organized. I loved hearing the amazing history of the Quitbay , fort, old and new Harbour , the ancient university ruins as well as visiting the mosque and cathedral. My favourite stop was the Alexandria Bibliotecha! Such an incredible design and an amazing collection of literature in many, many languages. I especially appreciated that not only did Rasha have the facts but spent many happy hours as a student in the library. My phone died and Rasha took pictures for me. Without exception, I would recommend Rasha for the private all day tour of Alexandria if you want to dive into deep history of this ancient city. It was such pleasure.

We took this private tour on our first day in Alexandria, and we recommend this tour highly. With our hotel pickup included, it gave us a great start at 9 am. With an excellent driver with a private car, it was efficient to move from one place to the next. Rasha gave us a good overview first, and then more details at each site. Towards the end of this tour, we gained a good overview of Alexandria's facinating history.

Very nice tour worth seeing the city. It was a bit confusing about the start and end of trip. This trip was initiated and ended in Alexandria. We paid extra for transport from Cairo.

The itinerary was perfect, covering all the main highlights of Alexandria, but Rasha was also flexible enough to adapt the program slightly to suit our needs. Rania, our guide, and Hani, our driver picked us up from hotel. Took us to all the major sightseeing spots. Rania, as an Egyptologist, gave us great introduction about what we saw and what we should know. And she encouraged us to ask questions. We felt we learned a lot about the country as well as the city of Alexandria!

Amazing trip to all the interesting sites in Alexandria! Rasha even accommodated two special spots for us so I can go by traditional Egyptian outfit from an authentic place and also a local cafe stop for Seesha! Other tour guides push you to buy things but she maintained a relaxed pace and never pushed us anywhere. Great experience overall and highly recommend

Shaimaa was a great host and extremely knowledgeable. This tour is well organized, and accommodating to the travelers (i.e. when one traveler was in need of a coffee fix, Shaimaa made it happen). We were not rushed in any location, Shaimaa gave us a lot of information, but then let us go at our own pace.

Heba is an outstanding tour guide. She is extremely knowledgeable and explains the history and details of the monuments in a clear and engaging way. What really sets her apart is how much she truly cares about her guests. She went the extra mile in every sense, including personally helping my mom get in and out of the car to make sure she was comfortable and safe. I have traveled a lot and worked with many guides over the years, and Heba is honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Touring with her was a pleasure and made the whole experience even more special. It was an excellent experience from start to finish, and I highly recommend her to anyone visiting Alexandria!

Aala and her driver picked us up in our hotel lobby and took us on a 6-hour tour including the Catacombs, the Amphitheater, and the Library. We learned so much about each site we visited, as well as the neighborhoods we drove through, the city as a whole, and Egypt as a whole. My 20-year-old son and I were enthralled the entire time!

My dad and I loved our Alexandria tour. Rasha was an incredible tour guide, she knew everything about the history of the city and made the logistics smooth. She would always explain our options and let us guide the direction of the tour and was so attentive. I learned so many new things about the city and it ended up being our favorite Egypt tour.

Rasha came early for the pick up. We visited all the historical sites as listed in Viator. The advantage is she also gave us tips on where to eat and shop, as well as provide info on the buildings we pass by. It was a lovely day. Would recommend this tour to first time visitors to Alexandria. Her husband runs a 3 hour food tour. Will try this the next time.

We had a wonderful time in Alexandria. Our guide has great knowledge and was really kind and insightful. Unfortunately the library is closed on Friday so we weren’t able to check it out inside, but it was still worth to come and check Alexandria out. Our favorite stop was the Citadel which offers a beautiful view to the city and the shore.

A wonderful day as a solo (curious) traveler on business in Egypt. I chose this tour as the reviews were so good and I wasn't disappointed. Rasha was fun and knowledgable and a great conversationalist. We visited all the spots I wanted to and nothing was too much trouble. Shout out to Karim also, he drove but is a guide himself so I got double the fun. Highly recommended.

We loved touring with Rasha and Kareem. They were both very knowledgeable about Alexandria and Egypt in general. Rasha had an answer to every question we had but we really were inundated with answers. They were both smart and we loved Kareem’s sense of humor. Their love of their home town was obvious and we marveled at Kareem’s ability to manage the driving without losing focus. We would highly recommend them either individually or as a pair for any and all visitors to this city.

Even though the guide did everything possible, not worth the price as it doesn't include anything and excluding the castle, not much to see in the destinations. This advertisement is misleading. They have marked many destinations optional without explaining what that means. When you read it, it means up to the traveller, but they may ask you to choose. This is definitely not full day tour, at most half day. The library is closed during the weekends (Friday, Saturday) and they don't mention this and allow bookings on those days.

This was a wonderful trip by 2 great tour guides Rasha and Karim, with Karim also driving. Great communication before and everything on time. So knowledgeable and very kind, and so flexible to shape the visit to suit our needs. We could not rate them more highly. Fabulous
