I had a very enjoyable stay at Hilton Alexandria King’s Ranch overall. Check-in was slightly chaotic, and I was disappointed that the doormen watched me struggle with my luggage instead of offering to help. My pool-view room was fantastic for the price, spotlessly clean and had excellent air conditioning. A special mention must go to my housekeeper, Sahar. She was always pleasant, smiling and cheerful, and kept my room immaculate throughout the week. She is a credit to the hotel. The facilities are very good, and the pool area is clean and well maintained. I booked four spa treatments, all of which were excellent. The therapists were friendly and professional, although the spa reception staff I dealt with could be rather abrupt. I did not even know the hotel had a spa until Fatma approached guests around the pool and promoted the treatments. Because of her initiative, our group booked nine treatments. Without her approaching us, we would not have booked any. She demonstrated exactly why proactive service benefits both guests and the hotel. Unfortunately, food and drink service is the hotel’s weakest area. The menu and cocktail choices are limited, drinks can take around 30 minutes to arrive, and poolside food is often cold or poor quality. Cocktails also varied significantly in quality, with some being almost undrinkable. The hotel would undoubtedly sell more if staff regularly walked around the large pool area taking food and drink orders. Guests should not have to get dressed and walk around the pool every time they want to order something at a five-star hotel. Communication can also be challenging if you do not speak Arabic. An international five-star hotel should have at least one fluent English-speaking employee available in each main area. The noise and frequency of weddings also need better management. On one evening, the music was so loud that guests could not comfortably sit in the lobby. I was also confronted aggressively by wedding guests who said I could not use a particular doorway. Security should have been present to manage the situation and ensure hotel guests could move around safely. Overall, I had a very good stay and met many excellent members of staff, particularly Sahar, Fatma and the spa therapists. The hotel has a lot going for it, but improvements to food and drink quality, waiting times, English-speaking support, wedding management and proactive poolside service would bring it closer to the five-star standard advertised.

Hilton Kings Ranch – Very Disappointing Handling of Hotel Guests We stayed at Hilton Kings Ranch from 31 July to 2 August 2026 as a group of 3 adults and 6 children. While the hotel itself is beautiful and the spa facilities are excellent, our experience with the indoor heated pool left us extremely disappointed and overshadowed our entire stay. On our first day, we checked in at 3:00 PM. At around 6:30 PM, we went to use the indoor heated pool, only to be told that we were not allowed to enter because it had been reserved for a football team having a recovery session until closing time. I immediately called reception and spoke with one of the managers, who apologized and assured me that if the same situation happened the following day, I should come directly to reception and they would resolve it. Trusting that promise, we returned to the pool the next day at 2:15 PM. At 2:45 PM, a staff member approached us and asked us to leave because the pool had been booked from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM. I explained that we had already been denied access the previous evening and reminded him that the night manager had specifically assured me we would be able to enjoy the pool without interruption. As guests staying only two nights, I felt it was only fair that we be allowed to use one of the hotel’s advertised facilities. Around 3:15 PM, another staff member came and told us that we could remain in the pool as long as there were no adult men with us because it would become a ladies-only booking. That wasn’t an issue, as our group consisted only of women and children, with one 11-year-old boy. About thirty minutes later, the ladies who had booked the pool arrived. They were visibly unhappy that we were still there and simply waited while the staff tried to persuade us to leave. Shortly afterward, another staff member, Mr. Amr from the sports activities team, approached us and claimed that another football team would soon arrive with ice and recovery equipment, suggesting that we would not be comfortable staying. It was very obvious that this was simply another attempt to convince us to leave, despite the assurance I had already received from management. Eventually, at around 4:10 PM, my family, our friends, and all of our children left the pool so that the private group could have exclusive use of it. What upset me most was not just losing access to the pool for the second consecutive day, but the overwhelming feeling that our comfort as paying hotel guests simply didn’t matter. Throughout the entire situation, it felt as though the comfort and satisfaction of another group were considered far more important than ours. Despite raising my concerns the previous day and receiving assurances from management, when the exact same situation happened again, nothing meaningful changed. That was incredibly frustrating and honestly quite humiliating. As hotel guests, we should never have been placed in a position where we had to repeatedly justify our right to use a public hotel facility, especially while another group waited for staff to remove us. At around 8:00 PM, I went to reception to speak with the manager. He was polite, respectful, and listened carefully. However, the only solution offered was allowing us to use the pool after 9:00 PM, once the private booking had ended. Unfortunately, we were checking out the following morning, and after spending the afternoon being repeatedly asked to leave, our children were exhausted and no longer interested in returning. That offer did not compensate for what had already happened. What makes this even more disappointing is that the hotel has an outstanding spa with private spa suite services that can be rented by the hour. If a group requires complete privacy, those facilities seem like the appropriate solution instead of blocking access to a public amenity that all hotel guests have paid to enjoy.

I had a really pleasant experience at Borsalino Cafe and Restaurant by the pool with a beautiful ambiance. The staff Gehad and Muhammad Hamdy were incredibly professional, polite, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The service was smooth and efficient throughout. The food was also very good—fresh, flavourful, and nicely presented. We had the stir fry and breaded chicken. The strawberry mojito and coconut latte was very nice. Everything came out on time, and you could tell care was put into the preparation. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to others. Looking forward to visiting again!
