Joanna is an excellent tour guide. Her tour provided a nice variety of stops, which really kept things interesting. We particularly enjoyed the stories she shared. She communicated with us immediately when we had a question about how much walking was involved. I am recovering from a TKR and she assured me the walking was mixed with sitting. We have been on food tours in Lisbon and Paris, but this tour was a better mix of walking, sitting, stories, etc. The meeting place was centrally located and easy to find. Note to those with food allergies…don’t book a food tour. It’s unfair to your host and others on the tour.

We had a great time either way Joanna today. We got to try so many different dishes from a variety of restaurants while she told us some history of Banff that we would not have found out about on our own. We sampled Duck wings with a sweet and sour sauce. (My wife is not a fan of duck but she enjoyed it)! Next we tried locally produced fudge. We also got to try a locally produced spirit made with 30% pure maple syrup.next we had Bison sliders with poutine. We also had a locally produced wine not made from grapes and served with chocolate. Our next stop was a tea store where we sampled 3 of their teas and also got to try 100% maple syrup. We went next to a place that had street tacos. I Everyone enjoyed their selection. Our last stop we had a flatbread with Rik. And another cocktail.. we finished up wth Nanaino bars. Everyone was stuffed. One member of our group was celiac and every place accommodated him. It is well worth doing this tour but come hungry.
Joanna was an absolute delight! She treated us to food at many stops and by the end of the tour we were absolutely stuffed with leftovers to take home. The stops were carefully selected and delicious! Love doing food tours and this one did not disappoint! Learned many cool facts about the region.
This food tour was a blast! We had 10 people in our group. The tour guide Jo, was pleasant and also gave us some informative history on the area and wildlife. The restaurants we visited were perfect and there was something for everyone!
Our food guide-guru, Jo, was awesome. There were plenty of stops and drinks. The range of food was wide and varied. The conversation was easy and knowledgeable. Our party learned about the food, the locale and local traditions. We have done many food tours and this one was one of the best ever!
We had fun tasting various food and drinks. Our guide, Jo, combined food tasting with local history and made it interesting. For example we went to The Boss restaurant for tasting and learned about The Boss, the grizzly bear. Jo is very friendly and we enjoyed our tour very much.
This was just fun! The insights into the local identity were of interest and shared graciously. Very tasty and treat was generous, delightful, and the best of Banff!
Jo was outgoing and showed us some hidden food gems of Banff that we would not have tried on our own! We enjoyed it !
We really enjoyed this tour. There was a wide variety of food typical of the area and some great stories to go along with our snacks and meals. This was a carefully curated tour and we would highly recommend it.
This was such a great tour. The food was amazing and we were able to visit so many places. A great way to learn about Banff while eating such delicious food. It was fun being able to go to places I wouldn’t have known about had I not been able to learn from Joanna. She is a wonderful guide who made the tour very enjoyable. Thank you.
Plan your trip to Banff around this tour! Seriously. We had an amazing time on our Taste of Banff tour with Joanna- she really went above and beyond to make it a fun yet very informative tour. We booked the tour for our first day in Banff and this made our entire stay so much better. We revisited some of the places from the tour during our stay they were that good and Joanna's recommendations outside of that were spot on also. Definitely ensure you are hungry before this tour- the amount of food and drink was beyond what I'd imagined. Joanna's local knowledge and informative tour made it all so worthwhile, as did the personal touches she added. Not to be missed!
A great way to kick off our time in Banff! We got to try a nice variety of food that we probably wouldn't have picked on our own, and it was just the right amount without feeling too heavy. Jo shared some interesting history about the area and gave us lots of great recommendations for other shops and places to check out. We ended up going back to several of the places we visited on the tour. It finished at a rooftop bar with one of the best views in Banff—such a great way to end the experience!
This was an amazing journey through the history of Banff and all food was delicious. Jo was an incredible guide and we highly recommend her. My only regret was that we didn't book this sooner in our trip so that we could go back and revisit all the wonderful places for a full meal. I did go back for the tacos!! Make sure to tell her about any food restrictions prior to your experience, this is super important! I have already booked another food tour back home because we loved hers so much!
Great food, and great fun, with a great guide. Joe was excellent on our Banff Foodie Tour. She was very knowledgable regarding the various offerings available in the town of Banff. It was great fun and we came away "stuffed" with a solid appreciation of Banff culinary delights.
We always book a food tour early on whenever we travel somewhere new to try some of the local delicacies and learn about the area. This one did not disappoint and would highly recommend. “Jo” was awesome and all the food was excellent. She used her time well and her choices were spot-on. She mixed in some history and led us pt some great photo ops. #DuckWings #StickyToffee
We had 6 people and everyone of us said that loved this tour of Banff and its food/drink. Joanna really knows her community, the history, and the best little places to eat. We had a variety of food often paired with a drink! And a plus is her fun bubbling personality! I’ll be recommending it to others!
What a great experience. One we wouldn’t have had without booking this trip. Even though we have been in the area a couple of days we were taken to hidden gems we didn’t know about. We were treated to the history of the area as well as very good food. Joana was upbeat and very knowledgeable. Kept us entertained and was engaging.
We took the Taste of Banff Food Tour at the end of the shoulder season, and we lucked out with a private tour just for the two of us! Joanna is an amazing guide - a lot of fun, passionate, knowledgeable, and full of interesting stories and historical insights about Banff. The food was delicious! The duck wings and fish tacos were standouts, and since it was just us, Joanna treated us to a stop at the Maple Leaf for their sticky toffee pudding! Really great way to explore Banff and learn about the area. Thanks for a memorable experience, Jo! Highly recommended!
This is a wonderful tour. We were treated to many classic Canadian dishes from places that are off the beaten path. Loved the poutine, beaver tail, Timbits, duck wings, salmon among other treats. Jo is very knowledgeable about the area and we loved hearing a story about “The Boss.” Would definitely take this tour again.
Good food and good company but best of all a knowledgable guide.the tour was entertaining and we discovered lots about the area
Wonderful food tour of Banff. Jo was a great guide & had arranged a good variety of food & drink tastings in a variety of settings. Pace was easy & our group size was small so it felt very personalized. She also took great care with food allergies. Would highly recommend!
We had the best time exploring Banff with Joanna! Her stories about the local history and food scene really brought the town to life. The 'nibbles tour' concept is brilliant; it pushed us to try dishes we never would have picked ourselves. Such a fantastic way for travellers to discover the local flavour.
We had an amazing time on this food tour! From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully organized. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate—not just about the food, but about the local culture and history. Joanna has a gift for storytelling!! The tour was a great way to try delicious food and drinks at many local establishments. I highly recommend a tour with Joanna - such a fun afternoon!!
Amazing experience! Great spots around Banff and amazing food, very informative about the town as well
It was our first trip to Banff and Joanna gave us an awesome tour with loads of stories about the local history and food, and some pretty awesome drinks too. We had a good laugh and had an amazing time. Now we know everything about the region, and the cool stories about drinks and nibbles. Thank you so much Joanna!
What a fantastic way to spend a few hours in downtown Banff! This ORIGINAL local food tour company truly stands out, with strong connections to authentic Banff establishments that you may not discover on your own. At every stop, we were greeted so warmly—it really felt like a VIP experience. A special shoutout to Joanna, who made the tour unforgettable. Her knowledge and passion for Canada and the Rockies shine through in every story she shares, adding a fun and meaningful layer to the experience beyond just the incredible food. If you’re considering a food tour in Banff, don’t bother looking elsewhere—this is the one to book. Supporting a local business like this makes the experience even more worthwhile!
This was a fabulous food tour! Joanna is so knowledgeable and was able to showcase great food with interesting stories. She was able to manage a diverse group and keep everyone engaged. I would certainly recommend this tour! Thanks!
I’ve never done a food tour before and didn’t really know what to expect, and I’m so happy I tried! Joanna was so friendly and welcoming right from the start! We walked the streets of Banff and went to some really cool eateries whilst hearing stories of the history of Banff and got a really cool vibe of the culture, and also tasted some really delicious things I would never have had before. Having lived in Banff for many years, Jo was very informative and told some great stories of local folklore and the history of the area. I was thinking I would get to taste some nice food but the experience was so much more! Thanks Jo for making my Banff visit so special and I would recommend to anyone who goes to Banff!
This experience is a whole meal with drinks and extra dessert! I highly recommend this tour if you are overwhelmed with all the amazing options to satisfy your need to devour everything in site! My group mates were excellent companions and we had so many great information given to us about Banff, the area and more from Joanna. I was just as interesting meeting people who traveled to Banff and what brought them there. I ate so much on the tour but it was well balanced by the walking that I was satisfied enough to just have a small dinner so really I made money on the tour because I had more to spend from my food budget than anticipated! So if you have the opportunity to learn from a local, taste multiple Canadian specialties ( I'm Canadian and still tried NEW things!) then book this into your itinerary as a must do. And if there is one last piece of maple toffee and everyone is being too polite to take it, be the one to eat it! I know, not living up to the polite Canadian am I, because that person's was absolutely me! I would book this again for the later tour as I did the mid day one this time. Knowing that different seasons bring different chef and menus I doubt I'd have the same things everytime - well I'm okay with the maple toffee and syrup everytime ❤️
We had a great experience on Nibble Tours. A great highlight was that Joanna has lived and spent time in Banff National Park since the early 90’s so she had a wealth of information about the Park and how it has changed overtime. The food and cocktail variety was also excellent and we were able to enjoy a nice variety of what Banff has to offer. I quite enjoyed the duck wings we tried at Boss and the shaft at Elk and Oarsman. Thanks for an awesome time, can’t wait to do this tour again!!
This was the first time in Banff for me and my partner. It was also the first thing we did in town after dropping off our bags at the hotel. The best metric for how good a food tour is, in my opinion, is how comfortable we feel navigating the food scene in the town, and the town as a whole, following the experience. For sure, Joanna was wonderful, picked some great spots for our tour group, and was very knowledgeable about the area. That stated, afterwards, I felt like I could casually walk around downtown Banff and pick restaurants (and this city has an amazing food scene). No Yelp needed, no hotel recommendations: just our knowledge obtained from Joanna. 10 out of 10. I would definitely recommend.
What a great time! Great mix of local favorites and some fancy places. Joanna has lived in Banff through multiple decades so she has the history down. Definitely recommend.
Jo was so fun and informative. You can really tell she loves giving food tours. The food was great and a tiny bit adventurous. My wife and I had so much fun.
What an incredible experience! This wasn’t just a food tour — it was an interactive, immersive journey through the heart and soul of Banff. Joanna provided historical insights between each stop which provided cultural context and brought everything to life in such an engaging and entertaining way. The food itself was outstanding — and definitely more than just “little bites.” We enjoyed generous tastings at every stop, with a perfect balance of sweet and savoury dishes. Each location offered something unique, and the drinks throughout were thoughtfully paired and plentiful. What really set this tour apart was how interactive and lively it felt. It wasn’t just about eating — it was about connecting with the history, the people, and the atmosphere of each place we visited. The guide made everyone feel involved, creating such a fun and welcoming vibe. If you’re considering booking — do it. I truly cannot recommend this enough. It’s an absolute must-do and easily one of the best experiences we’ve had in Banff!
We had a great time walking around Banff and trying treats and different spots. Our guide did a great job of mixing savory, sweet and drinks. We left with hands full of leftover and our bellies full. It was a great way to wrap up our vacation. We were even able to grab some food souvenirs to bring home and share with friends.
Joanna is very nice, and she took us to a lot of places with great food. Both my girlfriend and I enjoyed the food tour very much!
So many delicious food choices. A bit of everything. We loved the interesting stories about Banff. Highly recommend. It was a great way to check out the food scene in Banff.
Jo combined stories, history and good food on this excellent food tour. We had a good taste of Canada. Our favorite was the vinegar and oil tasting, but everything was interesting and tasty, from poutine to tea to pure grade A maple syrup to yummy chicken wings to chocolate to maple fudge, dinner after our late afternoon tour was not necessary. We got to orient ourselves to Banff in the process. You will love the food and your guide.
Great “bite” choices and our tour guide, Joanna, had interesting stories and histories facts that she shared along the way. Excellent tour!!
Joanna did a great job in selecting the food places we were able to visit and also the information she shared with us. Also, she was very friendly! Highly recommend.
