Although Mother Nature didn't cooperate on the day we went to the skywalk, it was still worth the time and money to experience the glacier and scenery from such a prime vantage point. I can only imagine how beautiful the view must be on a clear day without rain/snow!

This audio driving tour was great!! Even with no cell service, it pointed out all the stops we needed to make/see at the exactly the right times! My husband and I used it going south to north and then again north to south to hit the things we missed on the way up! The history was great/ some of the jokes were a little corny....
It was informative but not boring. I enjoyed the history of who certain peaks, lakes, trails, etc. were named after and why. Interesting and fun at the same time. Worth the $9. Highly recommend! 👍
Sadly we couldn’t download this despite having full 5G connectivity, restarting phones, trying on multiple devices and contacting support which was just an AI agent. Tried 4 times and download got stuck at 50% on map tiles each time.
This was a unique way to explore the Icefield Parkway. Without this audio guide we would have missed many beautiful scenic views and opportunities to explore the terrain. The audio provided rich history and geographical facts of the area all while hands-free for the driver and passenger. No technical issues whatsoever. Well worth it.
The tour was easy to download and start. It follows your progress and gives you history and information about stopping points. With limited cell access it gives you a tour to access. Good stories and points of interest
We absolutely loved this geolocation audio tour for the Icefields Parkway! It was one of the best things we added to our trip. As we drove, the tour automatically knew where we were and would lower our music and start telling us about the scenery, history, wildlife, glaciers, and interesting stops along the route. We learned so much while still being able to enjoy the drive at our own pace. It made an already incredible drive even more memorable and was an amazing value for the price. Just make sure to download the app and tour before heading out since cell service can be limited along the Parkway. Highly recommend!
We downloaded the tour before we left since we knew there wouldn’t be much cell service, and it worked perfectly the whole way. I was honestly surprised by how accurate it was. It always knew exactly where we were and started talking at just the right time. We ended up stopping at several places we would have driven right past if we hadn’t had the tour, and those turned out to be some of our favorite stops. The stories and history were really interesting without feeling overwhelming, and the little quizzes were a fun touch that kept us paying attention. It felt like having a knowledgeable local in the car with us. If you’re planning to drive the Icefields Parkway, don’t skip this. It made an already incredible drive so much more memorable.
Great way to learn about the Icefield Parkways stops along the way. Easy to use, lots of info, liked the quiz’s at the end of each stop.
What a great way to learn about the area and its history. Easy listening that included the type of hikes in the area you were entering and one’s ability to do it.
We really enjoyed the Icefields Parkway narration. The app worked as expected, and provided lots of great information for our family with young kids. Without the narration, we wouldn't have known what we were looking at most of the time, as the narrator named off the mountains and some of the history as we went along. They did a good job telling us about the people, both indigenous and adventurers, that lived in and explored these lands. We enjoyed the humor added to the mix as well. It truly made our drive a significantly better and more informative experience.
Highly recommend this audio tour for the 3 1/2 hours drive down the ice field. A lot of information provided. Told us where to stop and take hikes to Albaca Falls, some water, the fall and the glacier turnout. Instead of being 3 1/2 hours straight drive time it turned into seven hours. With walking hiking and seeing the sites.
The tour is from Banff to Jasper. We were going to Banff from Jasper and wished the tour would reverse.
Audio only worked for the introduction and nothing after that. Written info was there but not able to read as would get car sick. Missed places due to audio not working. Don't believe it was because the download wasn't complete though. The programme knew where we were but just the audio wouldn't work. Very disappointing.
Be prepared for a long ride without any cellular service. So have music or some sort of audio pre downloaded for when you make the return trip. It is not a loop, you drive all the way there from Banff to Jasper and then have to turn around and drive it back. Gorgeous ride.
We really enjoyed the audio tour as we drove down the Ice Hwy, and I don’t usually like a lot of details and history. The narrator made it very interesting and entertaining😀
Fun and informative narration of our drive. It worked perfectly, turning on at all the right spots even though we did not have cell service.
Very useful. Thisrecording told us all of the beautiful places to stop. We were able to pick it right up once we stopped and once we were ready to go again it was just in the perfect place. We learned so much history as well.
We drove the Ice field Parkway over 5 hours. The audio guide was great, informative and interesting. It would be useful for children too with the quiz theme. Well worth doing, we learnt a lot and it enhanced our experience of the fabulous road.
This download was excellent. Showed all the important stops along the parkway so we didn't miss any of the sites. Highly recommend
The info was interesting but the jokes were a little cringy and the narrator's delivery was awkward at times. The repetition of the choices for trivia questions was a little annoying.
It would not work. You switched me over to a 3rd party and I had no code to download it. Would not have worked anyway since there is no phone service on the parkway. I’d like my money back.
Interesting information for numerous stops along the way. Engaging and comical at times. It was helpful to know the stops a little ahead of time in order to prepare for the stop.
Informative facts provided! Educational - we learned a lot and the time went by faster.. Quizzes made it fun!
Fantastic audio tour guide, uses GPS to give information as you approach the attraction. Brings the drive alive and allows you to concentrate on soaking up the Beautiful scenery!
It probably took us a half an hour to figure out how to get the audio to work with my phone in my car. Instructions to do that would’ve been nice. We missed the first four stops. Other than that, I think it was a nice commentary. It was a fantastic and beautiful drive.
The TripVia Tours app could have been more user friendly and more consistent with the app knowing where you are and the correct content being spoken. It was a very informative tour and we liked hearing if a stop was worthwhile to actually stop at.
Very informative. We stopped at places we wouldn’t have known about! A little bit of history and trivia was great!
We appreciated the tips and history of the points of interest along the Icefields Parkway. The app worked well but we could have done without the attempts to be comical. The trivia questions would have been more enjoyable if not for the childish punchlines. We have kids but felt annoyed rather than amused.
Wonderful narration of the sights and history of the Icefield Parkway. While I drove, my daughter navigated the app by playing the appropriate audio according to the map location.
Great audio - just enough information with the right details to make it interesting but not boring or overwhelming Narrator was funny and had interesting trivia
I enjoyed this tour. It added information to the drive and we took many of his suggestions. I especially liked the way it would start at certain points along the drive automatically and then stop until the next bit of information he would impart. It helped to know about stops or points of interest coming up and we could decide whether we wanted to pull off and take a look or a hike etc. The price was great - was well worth it.
Best $9 we spent the entire trip!!! So good. HIGHLY recommend this audio guide. It gave us very specific instructions on where to go and where to look. Very insightful info - no need to book a bus tour.
Great way to learn a lot more about the route and the scenery. Very informative, learnt lots and good information about the best places to stop.
An informative and inexpensive guide that will make your Icefields Parkway drive so much more informative. So many times, when you do a self-guided tour, you miss some of the things you are driving by. This helps to bring more info to you as you drive along the parkway. The GPS link is fairly accurate, so you get the next commentary as you are approaching the discussed area. The only downside is it can be a bit confusing sometimes on the correct direction that are referencing for you to view. Well worth the investment if you are driving the Icefields Parkway and want to know more of what you are seeing.
Great information and entertaining. Excellent value. Tech worked great and GPS worked perfectly on my iPhone 14 when I downloaded it before going.
Not our favorite. We had other drive along guides that we preferred much more than this one. The jokes and games would have probably been very fun if you had kids in the car, but 2 sixty year olds were getting a little frustrated with it
Learning the history of the area plus Jefferson made sure we did not miss any of the good viewpoints. We listened to it twice while driving both directions.
It was exhilarating, fun, and very informative. I particularly liked the attribution to the First Nations people who preceded us, and the environmental care taken for the glacier and surrounding area. James Moore from Ontario was the best ever driver/guide. We had one member in our party who was particularly nervous about what was to come. With James’ presentation, he calmed all of us and made it so much fun. A great tour and an amazing trip onto the glacier.
We are glad we purchased this Audio Driving Tour. I was very informative. Very important to download and be ready to go before you head out because there is no cell service for the drive.
A great way to enjoy the drive and ensure you don’t miss any stops. Worked seamlessly with GPS. (We couldn’t go past Icefields to Jasper because it’s currently closed)
We enjoyed the audio driving tour on the Icefields - there were places we definitely would have missed if we had not been listening to the tour, we liked the recommended places to view, we liked the ability to let the tour go automatically or be able to sneak ahead and listen or to have it be repeated. We recommended the audio tour to several people along our trip. So glad we gave it a try. It was so worth it. NOTE: Using in a rental car we had to adjust to the car settings to make sure we could hear the tour.
So helpful to hear the interesting history along the way & places recommended to stop. Even though we couldn’t go the whole way due to wildfires, so neat to see these glaciers in person!
We downloaded the app before we left to drive the highway. Had some trouble getting it to play in the car but finally figured it out. If you like a lot of history then you would probably enjoy it. I did like that it would talk about what was coming up and the was nice because it was not always identified on the highway!
The gps was spot on. The only issue was audio. Whenever we didn’t have a signal, audio functionality stopped until signal was available.
The audio guide added a whole other dimension of fun and learning to the drive. Really well done! No technical issues at all either.
This digital tour was great for our ride through the Columbia Icefields. My husband, teenage children and I found the information interesting and the quizzes entertaining. Worked well downloaded to my iPhone.
Didn’t work. Had the audio working at the hotel in Banff but when on the road it failed to work very disappointing. Don’t waste your money.
Mostly loved the tour with some minor quibbles. Enjoyed the history and and overview of the sights. Trivia was fine, but took too much time: skip either reading questions twice or the “thinking music “. Would have loved more geological facts
We really enjoyed the audio tour . We definitely recommend it . A lot of beautiful sights you might miss if you didn’t have the audio tour. A lot of history too!
