Banff Stargazing Tour 2hr Walking Tour

Elliott did an amazing job, and the tour was perfectly balanced to keep us moving often enough to be warm and awake, but stargazing enough to be blown away

A wonderful tour that I can highly recommend. We visited locations where the stars and the Milky Way were clearly visible. Ella & Jacob were fantastic; they shared a wealth of interesting information about Banff, the national parks and explained the constellations along with the stories behind them. For me, it was a beautiful experience and a wonderful way to end my trip. Thank you so much!

We didn’t know what to expect, but we get to see beautiful starry night sky in the National park. Depends on the night, the experiences will be very different. We met up with the tour guide and walked into the park where we can see beautiful lakes, mountains, sky! However, you should be prepared with good shoes in winter. You also are walking for 4km! It is a little expensive for a night walking tour. For the price, it would be nice to also get a warm drink. Ella was a great and fun tour guide. She has fun stories to tell, and we get to learn about the sky (since we know nothing).

We had Jacob as our guide, and what a special experience it was! The funny thing is, I had been on this tour about eight years ago with a girlfriend and had one of those once- in- a- lifetime nights: two moose on the little island in front of us, glowing mountains, and the northern lights dancing overhead . I loved it so much that when we returned to this beautiful place, I had to book the tour again, this time with my husband. I couldn’t believe our luck when Jacob was our guide again! We didn’t spot any moose this time, but Jacob made the evening just as memorable. He’s funny, supportive, and clearly loves what he does. The tour itself is unique, refreshing, and so much fun . If you love taking pictures, it’s also a safe and wonderful way to capture beautiful night photos.Jacob taught us tips and tricks that helped us take beautiful night pictures. I truly think everyone visiting should experience this tour. It’s a nice easy pace to enjoy the end of the evening. I’ve heard it’s run by a lovely little family business, and you can feel how much heart they put into it. When we come back, we’ll absolutely book again and we’ll be hoping Jacob is our guide! What a great experience! Having grown up in large cities most of our lives, we rarely get to see the stars. Our guide, Jacob, was wonderful, sharing interesting facts and stories about the area and pointing out constellations as we went through the trail. He also gave us helpful tips on how to take better photos in night mode. We also got to see a little of the Northern Lights! Overall, we’d highly recommend this excursion to anyone that’s thinking about it.

Jacob was freakin awesome! He was informative, funny, knowledgeable. His humor and professionalism was enjoyable.

Jacob lead us on a wonderful tour through the hot spring trail and we saw a night sky full of stars! We were very lucky to come on a low cloud coverage night! All the tips and spots we stopped at for night sky photos secured many beautiful images! It was out of my comfort zone but Jacob’s stories and experience made me feel very comfortable!

Such a beautiful and unforgettable experience! Stargazing in Banff was absolutely magical. The night sky surrounded by the mountains was breathtaking, and seeing so many stars made the whole experience feel so peaceful and special. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Banff! Highly recommend!

My family and I took this tour in September on a beautiful clear night. The tour guides were knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. The only constructive criticism I would give is that 2 hours is too long, but otherwise it was a beautiful experience.

Ella was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and fun. Loved all her stories on the different constellations. I could listen to her all night with her awesome New Zealand accent!

We had beautifully clears skies and our guide did a good job considering the size of the group he had. We were surprised at the very large number that had booked this tour. It helped that the group was split in half but it probably should have been cut in thirds. We did have red head lamps to help walking but was hard to see cracks and lifts on the sidewalk especially with the size of the group. That said Aidan did a nice job helping everyone figure out how to take night pictures with their cell phone cameras and pointed out numerous constellations and stars. The Milky Way was very visible and photographed well. Overall it was an enjoyable evening.

Amazing tour and experience. If the weather cooperates, you will not be disappointed. The tour guides were great and even taught us how to take good pictures of the night sky on our phones.

Amazing tour! Aiden was a great tour guide, with fun stories and lots of knowledge. We also saw a herd of elk at the beginning and end of the tour! Our photos turned out amazing and we saw the Milky Way!

We were concerned if the hike was canceled due to weather. Tried but COULD NOT get any response from the booking agent. Glad though we made it to the gathering point and it was a go. Tour guides Aiden and Ella were exceptional, knowledgeable, caring. Especially on how they reacted when came across with elks along the no-light trail. They made the hike Very Enjoyable. Will definitely do it again, hopefully not in a cloudy night.

The guide was lovely and pleasant. I was a bit disappointed in how much I spent for this because I saw the same stars on my drive home. I got a couple of cool pictures and that was it. Didn’t seem worth the price but still had a decent experience!

Our guide Aiden was PHENOMENAL… informative, super bright and just confident in what he knows and does! Our fave guide of our time in Banff!! The experience was a bit more adventurous than we expected- you will be walking in the pitch dark for a few miles on a trail in the woods which we never would have attempted on our own! With that said… the star gazing was AMAZING!!! We even saw the Northern lights!!! Such a pleasant surprise and would def recommend this excursion!!!

Aiden was a fantastic guide! He educated us on the constellations and coached us through taking the best photos of them. Beautiful walk.

An excellent and fun late evening walk with plenty of fantastic stargazing. We were extremely fortunate to have no smoke, clear skies and Ella, our enthusiastic and very knowledgeable guide!

This was a great tour, and a fitting capstone to our visit to Banff. Ella was a great guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly, engaging even after midnight, and really brought the skies to life.

Ella our guide was fantastic! She had great stories, was knowledgeable about the constellations, animals in the area, and some history of Canada. The walk was easy but long enough to make it fun. The sky was beautiful and stars were popping! Don’t let the time deter you from a beautiful experience! Bonus- ample amounts of parking!!!

The stargazing tour with guide Aiden was a big highlight of our trip to Banff. Aiden was exceptionally knowledgeable about the night sky and had some amazing stories to share not just about astronomy but also the history, lore, and culture of the region. This helped make our experience truly unforgettable. We recommend this experience to anyone interested in connecting deeper with the Banff experience. This was so fun! Aidan was a very entertaining and informative guide. The hike was not too strenuous or too long, and we saw some great view. I would definitely recommend to anyone!

Aidan was great! Told lots of interesting stories about the history of Banff alongside pointing out certain constellations and planets. Had a gorgeous night, would definitely recommend!

The only reason I rated this event three stars was due to the swarm of mosquitos. I would recommend providing netting for the guests and/or having a second location available away from the water. It was unbearable. The other suggestion is to adjust the start time in the summer months so that the sky is dark enough to see the stars and constellations. The guide gets 5 stars!

What a tour! I didn't know what to expect going in, but I can confidently say I would do it again in a heartbeat. Aidan was an incredible guide, knowledgeable, funny, and patient throughout the entire experience. He took the time to teach us how to take better photos with our phones at night, explained everything we were seeing, and made the tour both informative and entertaining. We were fortunate to have a beautifully clear night, which made the experience even more memorable. I truly couldn't have asked for a better way to end my trip. Highly recommend this tour, and if you get Aidan as your guide, you're in for a fantastic experience!

Make sure you cover up, mosquitos love this tour as well, but I have to say it was really special, it’s a few miles so wear comfortable shoes. The views of the night sky are spectacular

This was an amazing experience and well worth the late start & even later end time! We were extremely lucky with the weather - only 1% cloud cover so were able to get fantastic views. Ella our tour guide was brilliant. Very knowledgeable & relaxed but also very safety conscious. She shared some great anecdotes & facts. All in all an excursion not to be missed. Just make sure you cover yourself in mosquito repellent and wear long sleeved layers!

We really enjoyed this night walking tour with Ella! She was very knowledgeable and a kind person to do this activity with. We felt very safe with her and learned a lot about the stars and constellations and Banff! We were split into 2 smaller groups rather than one big one which really made this experience top tier. We got some beautiful photos. The trail was easy to do, very safe, and kid friendly! Highly recommend adding this to your trip!

We had an awesome tour guide! Aiden was highly knowledgeable & very fun! He brought us to the best spots, gave advice on how to capture the best photos, how to edit them, & even found a perfect spot for Northern Light shots! Highly recommend this tour!

Even though the weather was not ideal for stargazing when we went, it was still a great experience. We captured some sights that we wouldn't have captured in the morning. Our guide was amazing! She was very helpful and friendly and pointed out some great views along the way!

The tour was amazing! Our tour guides were very informative, witty, and funny! Not to mention you get to see the beautiful night sky that Banff provides. It’s definitely a must do excursion when you visit Banff!

This was quite possibly the highlight of our trip to the area! It seems simple, a stargazing tour, but it was anything but ordinary. The stars, the colors, the satellites, the constellations…all beautiful. And Jacob, who was born and raised in Banff, was an excellent guide. He was funny, knowledgeable, and had some great stories. We had a blast.

The stargazing tour was incredible, highly recommend it for anyone! Jacob was a great guide, knowledgeable of not only the stars and the sky, but also Banff as a whole, plus he’s got a couple decent dad jokes! The weather worked out perfectly for us where we had the clearest sky you could imagine and we got to see so much! I would recommend this tour to anyone who’s wants ti experience Banff and the mountains a little bit differently than most. My wife and I will definitely be booking this tour the next time we’re here!

The walk was a casual pace and fairly easy for us. We enjoyed the staff and the stories. Provided us with everything we needed.

Easy 3 mile hike on a paved path. Amazing views of the mountains, rivers, stars, and northern lights (we went mid April). Perfect for any skill level. Guides were super informative and friendly.

Jacob and Jack were amazing guides , if you have the opportunity to take advantage of this amazing experience I highly recommend it! We had the great fortune of seeing the northern lights and an incredible midnight blue sky lit up by our stars! I was completely impressed that they offered us all a ride back to our hotel and when Jacob shared with Jack to wait for travellers to get a cab and not to leave anyone alone- impressive and meaningful

Such a great time! Guide was very knowledgeable and funny too. You could tell he really enjoys what he does. Had amazing views of the stars and even saw some northern lights. It was pretty cold out since it’s more of a walk than a hike, so come prepared!

This was a very cool night time experience. The walk/hike itself alone would have been interesting but the icing on the cake was the incredible stars surrounding us on an extremely clear night. Our guide Jacob was wonderfully entertaining and knowledgeable. He even gave us a lift to the bus stop afterwards which felt above and beyond and it helped us catch the last bus back to Canmore in time. Highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide was Ewan and there were 10 of us in total. Crampons and headlamps were provided and thats all you really need. Travel light (just a phone for pictures) and dress appropriately. It was a very informative, easygoing and engaging tour. Its clear Ewan is very knowledgeable and enjoys what he does. We were lucky to have a clear sky ; it was beautiful and quiet, and Ewan's tips helped us all take great pictures. Very much enjoyed it with my kids (11 and 14); was the perfect way to kick off our stay in Banff and a great activity to do in the evening. Not something you do everyday and most happy to have done so in Banff. Would certainly recommend it!

Beautiful views on a clear, cold night! Trail was easy, if a little muddy, and the stars were amazing! We were lucky enough to have an almost completely clear night, so there were so many stars in the sky. Kale, the guide, was entertaining and knowledgeable, he was great!

Dress warmly ! This was an excellent activity - Kael really knew the night sky and gave super photography help . Also really interesting natural history information as well . Thoroughly enjoyed it . Thank you .

A really nice experience, our guide was excellent he know so much about all the starts and the planet, and he was also very chatty about everything else which was nice. We had a very good night for the stars, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Banff. The trail you walk along is also really nice and very well maintained
