Ellie was an amazing tour guide! She had such extensive knowledge of Banff and the surrounding areas and was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout the tour. She happily answered all our questions and even shared some fantastic recommendations for day trips and events happening in Banff during our stay. Her local knowledge and helpful tips really added to the experience. My partner and I had a fantastic time! Thank you so much, Ellie, for making the tour so enjoyable and memorable. We really appreciate it!

Itinerary
Your expert local guide will tailor make the itinerary for each tour. Every day, we connect with other tour operators and Banff locals to gather information about recent wildlife sightings and consider seasonal weather conditions & big bus tour company schedules to ensure that you're getting the best, most authentic experience without the crowds! The destinations listed below are just some of the amazing stops you'll make on this tour.
Wind up the switchbacks of Mount Norquay, home to Banff's first ski hill, to our favourite viewpoint over the town. Mount Rundle and Cascade Mountain rise on either side, and bighorn sheep are often spotted along the road on the way up.
Drive the Minnewanka Loop to Lake Minnewanka, the largest lake in Banff National Park, then on to Two Jack Lake with its classic view of Mount Rundle. Your guide keeps watch along the way for elk, bighorn sheep, deer, and in season, bears.
Take a short walk to the Hoodoos viewpoint, home to one of Banff National Park's red chairs. Look out over the hoodoo spires, the Bow River, and Mount Rundle as the valley opens up below.
From Surprise Corner on the slopes of Tunnel Mountain, look across the Bow River to the Fairmont Banff Springs, the "Castle in the Rockies," framed by forest and Sulphur Mountain behind it. It's one of the best-known photo spots in Banff.
Stop at Bow Falls, the wide cascade just below the Fairmont Banff Springs where the Bow River tumbles toward its meeting with the Spray. Marilyn Monroe filmed scenes here for the 1954 film River of No Return.

The guide was fantastic and went above and beyond to make sure we saw as much wildlife as possible! We saw a black bear with her 3 cubs, elk (from very far away) and many deer.
It was wonderful, the elk were so majestic. My sister and I loved it. Nice to get out at the lookout points and our guide offered to take pics of us. Great customer service and great group of guests! My sister has all the elk pics so here are some lookouts we went to.
Great service Nolan was very good. He explained this well and has a lot of knowledge about area. Would go with this company again.
Going on a wildlife tour is always a "cross your fingers" type of adventure, but I figured I needed some professional guidance. I chose Radadventures because of their great reputation, and they did not disappoint. Not long into our adventure, we saw bear and deer. Soon afterward, we came upon a group of big horn sheep licking rocks and scaling a steep embankment. Not long afterward, we saw more white-tailed deer right outside the windows of our van. Toward the end the evening, we were on the spectacular venue of the Fairway Springs golf course watching elk grazing with the Bull elk bugling the cows with their young. A wildlife filled evening adventure! Thank you Charlie and Radadventures!
Tyler was an excellent tour guide. We saw lots of sites and some elk. It was a fantastic trip! I would recommend this excursion.
We saw elks and sheep. Unfortunately no bears. Tyler was very knowledgeable about the area. He showed us other sites along the way.
This was an amazingly experience. Gareth was so knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area. The very first wildlife we saw were black bears - just beautiful. We were able to take our time as we watched these beautiful animals. Gareth answered our questions, allowed our group to take as many photos as we wanted and then continued to show us the beautiful areas in Banff. This wonderful tour continued our wildlife sightings with elk. It was amazing. I cannot think of another tour as wonderful and unique as this. Highly, highly recommended.
Gareth was super informative, patient and made the trip fun. Highly recommend!
Ellie and her friend Lucy were wonderful! We saw deer and lots of elk. It's rutting season for the elk and we saw them up close at the golf course (their local hangout). The males were competing for the females and bugling! Quite dramatic seeing nature on display!
We saw deer , elk, big bucks , it was rutting season, Charlie! Was great, very knowledgeable, I sat in the front seat, which was able to get great photos. Took us, 2 jack lakes bow falls, and falcon crest with the view of lake Louise, Lake Minniwanka, and other lakes, norqway mountain . Was well worth the money!! Thank you so much Charlie ! You’re a great tour guide!!
Our family was fortunate to book a private tour. Bee was our tour guide and was so engaging with our children. I would rate our experience as 11/10! Highly recommend!
I wish they had told us to meet kitty corner of the train station, but oh no!!! Someone told us to go 4 blocks up , so me with a cane, I had so much mobility issues! And my spouse was very upset! Anyhow when we did get to the spot! We had our guide who was great! Our guide was wonderful. We went all over! Saw the male elk ! They were in Rutting season! Watch out females!
Local pickup was really good. Comfortable transport, George the guide was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Saw loads of wildlife; black bears, goats, elk (absolutely loads), mule deer. Also showed us some stunning scenery. Excellent trip highly recommend.
Very good guide who drove safely and provided good local information and stories. Took us to good valley view sites, while the golf course elk harems (3) were great.
We did an evening tour with George who was absolutely brilliant - he is so knowledgeable, he made the trip entertaining and personal to each person. We saw elk, deer, an eagle, beautiful lakes and he taught us so much about bears! Amazing - would really recommend the trip. We wish we were staying longer to go again!
A wonderful tour! Our guide, Marnie, was terrific, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and engaging. We saw tons of animals, including large groups of big horn sheep and elk. A very memorable trip!
Saw numerous male and female elk including two fighting with full racks, saw bull and calf bighorns and even a fox . Fortunate to have Marne from New Zealand as our guide. Stopped for enough time for all to take photos and we got some great ones
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We saw Elk including Male Bull Elk and heard his mating bugle call. Saw White tailed deer and mule Deer. Beautiful sights and lots of photos taken. Charlie was a fabulous guide and had good knowledge and even helped with photos. Bears are very elusive and not a guarantee. No tour can promise bear sightings.
George was informative and a great host
The trip is advertised as a 3-hour tour to Banff highlights and wildlife. Well, the tour ended after 2 and a half hours after a fairly rushed tour through well-known Banff highlights like the lakes and Bow Falls. Wildlife was in short supply, short of some elk sightings and a couple of small deer. None of the other wildlife mentioned in the tour description came out to play, or our guide didn't know where they might be found. While George was a perfecly nice individual who wanted to know where the 12 people on the tour came from, he didn't ask about what we would like to see or were most interested in. If he had, then maybe he could have used the missing half hour to please his customers. Overall, you'd get as much value by reading up about Banff and using a hire car to follow the route that the bus (and buses from other companies) followed.
We loved our tour & tour guide, George. The route, lookouts, and information were incredible and all the wildlife was the cherry on top! Thank you!
Had such a great time with Ellie! The tour was extremely well organised, smooth and we saw a lot of wildlife hidden all around Banff. The tour guide Ellie was so lively and gave us a ton of information about local wildlife, personal experiences and conservation.
We loved our tour & tour guide, George. The route, lookouts, and information were incredible and all the wildlife was the cherry on top! Thank you!
We saw everything! And our guide Ellie (sp?) was full of local knowledge and information about the local environment. She was also very conscientious around the animals and ensured we remained at a safe distance while advising others in our group to do the same.
Great experience. Fabulous guide. Very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife .
Great day travelling around Lake Moraine and Lake Louise. Georgia was a fabulous guide, very caring, very knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife and a nice touch was the offer of walking poles.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating! Loved all of the history tidbits he shared!
Lots of beautiful scenery! Although they can't guarantee that you will see wildlife, our tour guide, Charlie, was on it! He had a network of other guides that all share wildlife sightings and Charlie didn't hesitate to go where there was a report of bears! We were able to see a mama black bear and her 3 cubs!! It was awesome!!
Not a ton of wildlife, but great sighting and ended with awesome Canadian Elk on the golf course. Guide, Tyler, was awesome!
It was just okay. Nothing really jumped out at me to say it was great excursion. Saw some elk, white tail deer and mule deer.
A tour around the area showing some of the viewpoints and lakes and we also saw mule deer, white tailed deer and a lot of elk. Our guide Tas was very good and we enjoyed the evening
We had a wonderful trip with Georgia she was knowledgeable and enthusiastic We had some wonderful photo opportunities and the highlight of the tour Were the herd of elk with the big stag calling his lady’s and keeping them in order but disrupting the golfers .
Gareth was a great guide full of insight about the area and the animals. We saw lots of elk, and somewhere up close. It was a good tour and was just the right amount of time for us. We wish we had seen bears, but at the time we were there Gareth told us they had moved to higher territory than the roadways we could use. We would definitely recommend this tour for anyone in the Banff area.
Our family of 5 from California was visiting the Banff area for a week and chose Radventures for a 3 hour “wildlife tour” one evening. It was a great choice. Our tour leader, Georgia, drove the group of 12 in a minivan around several well known locations near Banff looking for wildlife. We stopped for 10-15 minutes at Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Norquay Ski Resort (overlooking Banff and the Fairmont Hotel in the distance) and a couple of secluded spots known to locals. In one area I couldn’t find on a map, we saw 1 elk in the distance and stopped for pictures. Before long, we saw 5…then 10…then 20 elk walking toward us. The herd came within 50 feet of our group - it would have been 25 feet if we hadn’t been warned away - and everyone got great pictures (see a few attached). Georgia, our guide, said it was the best sighting she’s seen or heard about in several years. There were lots of females, many babies and 1 big male with huge antlers. Georgia was great. Friendly, informative and very personable. The cost of $100 per person for the 3 hour tour was fine…especially with the elk.
Very good tour. Charlie was a great guide. We saw deer and caribou. Several nice stops during the tour.
Highlight of our trip despite cold freezing rain, spotted two elks close up, never experienced that before!
Gabi was great! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a wealth of stories, despite only being in the Banff are a short time. She described the Boss/Split Lip in fascinating detail. She was also good at including everyone in the van in conversations and experiences. The hidden town beneath Two Jack Lake was an interesting detail. We did further reading after the tour and found her facts to be 100% on target. And she did all this while being a good driver too.
Gabi was the best. She had a great eye for spotting wildlife!! She was full of facts and stories at every stop and all along the way. She also made it a point to include all of us in her conversations and offered to help us capture the perfect photos. I would love to take another tour with her.
Our tour guide was absolutely top notch. She was charming, knowledgeable and friendly. The scenery in the area is fantastic but she really made it enjoyable.
Georgia was one of the absolute best tour guides we have ever had! She effortlessly answered every single question our group threw at her. Even though the wildlife tour was only three hours long, Georgia kept us thoroughly entertained. She shared fascinating facts about Banff's wildlife in such an engaging, comedic way throughout the entire drive ...while we all waited to see if nature would cooperate. As a quick tip for future travelers: if seeing bears is your top priority, July is the prime time to visit Banff. We took our tour in September and didn't catch sight of any bears, though Georgia did mention a bear had been spotted roaming the Fairmont Banff golf course just the week before! Fortunately, we were lucky enough to spot Bighorn sheep right off the side of the road near Mt. Norquay. Better yet, Georgia helped find what she called the "best elk sighting of the season" over at the Hoodoos. We saw everything from a baby elk nursing to a massive stag with a humongous rack. We felt incredibly blessed! If you get Georgia as your guide, you are in for an amazing time—don't forget to show her some appreciation with a well-deserved tip!
Spectacular experience! Our tour guide was professional and very informative, as well as a wonderful sense of humor! Thank you Ellie for an epic tour and all of the long horn sheep and herd of elk that you put us on👌😉
We saw so many Elk. It was incredible.
Was on Gini's last wildlife tour this week and had a brilliant time. She was an amazing guide, fantastic local knowledge, and particularly insightful on buffalo! We were also impressed with the history of the park, and conservation efforts that she highlighted. Would highly recommend
I would highly recommend this tour. We were lucky enough to see Elk, deer and even a fox but the scenery was incredible. Our guide Charlie was extremely knowledgeable and his passion as a guide shone through nothing was too much trouble and he took some great photos.
Charlie was the best tour guide we’ve ever had and we’ve been all over the world. He was so knowledgeable and attentive to detail and spotted tons of wildlife as well as showed us some amazing viewpoints in Banff. 11 out of 10 recommend! We saw a huge heard of elk, mule deer in several spots and a beautiful fox. Take the trip!!
Gabi was just perfect! Patient, kind and informative. Gabi had cute humor and was a safe driver, which is always appreciated!
Our guide, Georgina was amazing! So knowledgeable and informative. Loved every minute of it. Would really recommend
We rally enjoyed our tour with Bee! She was knowledgeable, friendly, and had some good stories. We did not have great weather, but Bee made the tour worth it. The smaller tour size was great.
Our guide Georgia was very knowledgable and friendly. We enjoyed all the stops and saw several elk at the golf course
