The castle's diverse culinary offerings seamlessly blend rustic Canadian charm with world-class sophistication. From the formal dining rooms to the more relaxed spaces, the attention to detail is impeccable, with menus featuring fresh, local Alberta ingredients that ground the opulence in a true sense of place. Above all, the service is where the Fairmont truly shines. This experience was elevated by Beth, our guide and hostess, who was incredibly welcoming and a true subject matter expert. Between the impeccable service and the stunning alpine surroundings, a meal here is more than just dinner—it is an essential Banff memory.

Amazing tour of both the hotel and Alberta’s culinary history. We got a ton of variety of foods and they were all amazing.
This is a top notch experience from the tour guide to talking to the chefs, the cooking demonstration and the food and drinks. Everything was delicious! I would do it again if I came back to visit.
Amanda is an excellent food tour guide! She is incredibly knowledgeable and teaches the group so much along the way. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and her passion makes the experience both educational and enjoyable. She is definitely someone you want to have as your tour guide! The food was excellent overall, although we would have appreciated more meat options, as only two of the dishes included meat. One area for improvement would be accommodating food allergies and dietary restrictions with more suitable alternatives. My husband couldn’t eat the mussels and was given bean soup instead. While we appreciated the alternative, a more substantial option with protein would have been preferable, as not everyone is vegetarian. Overall, Amanda was an absolute pleasure, and her knowledge, enthusiasm, and warm personality made the tour worthwhile. Thank you, Amanda, for sharing your knowledge and passion with us! With gratitude, The Bilellos, NYC
Wonderful food experiences. Plus lots of hotel history. Such an enjoyable afternoon. Well worth your time.
We had a very intimate group of 6 on our food tour. Amanda did a wonderful job of having us get to know one another, as well as, the chef’s, bartender’s and servers at the restaurants. The food and drinks were amazing. Amanda’s knowledge of the history of the hotel and Alberta taught us a lot on this tour.
Delicious food, great guide, and an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. They were very accommodating by making mocktails at each location. I’ve never had steak tartare before, I’m glad I got to experience it. Learning about the hotel was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend this to others.
Excellent tour. Our guide did a great job and answered a lot of questions. Great way to visit the hotel. Very full after the tour!
The tour was great. Food and the atmosphere was top notch. Our guide was excellent. I think her name was Tracy.
Fabulous! Learn about this magnificent hotel, taste many dishes and drinks prepared especially for your small group. We enjoyed talking with each chef about how they prepared and sourced each dish. Cancel any dinner reservation you may have for later that evening as you wont need them. You will be served plenty of yummy food and cocktails (or mocktails if preferred).
Of all the tours I’ve taken this was the best, food & guide wise. Amanda was so personable & knowledgeable, she accommodated everyone. The culture aspect was very interesting. It is pricey, but so worth it. I was so full afterwards & would definitely do it again!
We loved this food tour. It combined a history lesson on the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel with amazing food from 5 different restaurants within the hotel. Our guide Amanda made sure every guest had their say. Also, the chefs at each restaurant presented each dish/cocktail/wine pairing and told us a little about themselves. So interesting!
We loved this food tour! The food/drinks were great! Nancy our guide was so friendly and made it a wonderful experience!
Eat at the Castle in Banff was amazing. The food experience was the best and information from the chefs and our guide was incredible and interesting. Learned a lot about local and Canadian cuisine and the area. So much fun! Would definitely recommend.
The food and the location were first class. The chefs explained in detail about how the food was prepared and why they selected the pairing of the drinks. They were available for questions and made everyone feel welcomed and accommodated food allergies. The guide did a good job explaining the history of the castle. However, parking was very expensive and we asked the guide about having the parking ticket validated, she ducked around the issue and didn't really want to see if she could help the group with that request. The parking should have been validated or at least state that parking is an additional charge in the description of the event.
Truly a wonderful experience! Perfectly planned, and highly accommodating for food allergies and non-alcoholic preferences.
The experience was fantastic! Simmi was a great guide showing us the beautiful castle and the food and drinks were fabulous! Go!
Great tour. Food was excellent. Tracy, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the Fairmount Banff Springs Hotel and gave us some interesting facts about the hotel and functions held there. The chef's were great and explained the food and how they prepared the dishes. Great tour. Highly recommend. Tom S. August 2026.
Lovely to see the different parts of the hotel and try new dishes and drinks. Food and guide were very good.
Stacy was great Very knowledgeable and articulate and has a great sense of humor She was caring and loves Canada
Stacey was an excellent guide and made everyone feel like one of her friends. She was also very knowledgeable about Fairmont Castle and had a good repor with the staff.
It was a very delightful experience. You were able to taste many different foods, and the chefs would actually come out and explain the food to you. Our tour guide explained the history of the Castle. It is a small group. A great time meeting other travelers from other places.
This is a wonderful experience with fabulous food. Our tour guide was awesome. The castle has a rich history.
Amazing! We loved our experience! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and the food and drinks were amazing!
This was a true culinary experience . Our tour guide amanda was fabulous. She knew a lot about the history of the hotel . Had the chefs speak with us about their experiences. Everyone on the tour got to know each other and learned where each person was from.
We loved our tour of the grand hotel. Tour guide will tell you a lot about the history of the hotel. Not just talk about the food.
My husband and I absolutely enjoyed every moment of this tour! Our tour guide was very professional and knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and city along with the food. She made sure the whole group felt taken care of and included! We actually had 3 tour guides on our tour which was a very pleasant coincidence! They shared about their lives and we were able to learn additional information about local life and about the privilege of living in Banff. They also helped us get to our next tour efficiently. Additionally, one of the guides who works for Alberta food tours gave us a recommendation for our ride home (Winderberry and Edibles Farm) which did not let us down! Thank you for giving us a wonderful experience!
Sue’s love of food and the history of the area shines through!
Great food and drinks along with a tour of the hotel. Lots of history of the hotel, area, and details about the food and wine! Met the chefs and had a great time! Highly recommend!
Sue was a wonderful host! We had a fun time eating delicious food and great drinks. All the staff at the hotel were interesting and professional. Definitely recommend!
We walked through the historic hotel and learned about its history. Our guide learned about where we were from and accentuated our tour with details from our countries. She showed us the international roots of the hotel and also honored the native culture. And the food was out of this world! Delicious pairings from 5 of the restaurants! We were able to meet many chefs as well. Unforgettable experience!
Amanda was amazing! She was so knowledgeable about the hotel, the local food scene and Canada's history. The food was delicious.
This is a must do!!! The castle is amazing, the tour guide gives the best history, the chefs are exceptional with food, cocktails, mocktails and food! The views are breathtaking!! Amanda was our guide and she was great!!! I would do it again if I’m in the area
We had a deliciously exquisite culinary tour at the Fairmont Banff Springs. Craft cocktails, wine pairings with delicious bites at 5 fabulous restaurants. The portions were generous at each spot and all extra delicious. Our guide Simmi, was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming and the chefs added extra perspective to the experience. We loved it and highly recommend to anyone visiting Banff. We learned a lot of history about the property as well and it’s a wonderful way to experience the castle if you aren’t staying there. 5 stars! Highly recommend!!!
Foodies unite! This is a wonderful culinary food and drink tour that combines the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel. The food and hotel are equally amazing and I highly recommend! (57 y/o experienced fussy traveler). Also a shout out to Beth our tour guide for the day…fun, informative & local gal who made our experience extra special —book this for a unique experience in Banff!
Simmi and Nancy did an amazing job guiding us through “The Castle”, hosting our food tour and answering all of our questions. They made my family feel as welcome as if we were guests in their home. The food and drinks that we sampled were very elevated, unique and delicious. We especially loved hearing the chef describe their dishes and drinks (the non-alcoholic options were as good as the wines and spirits). The views from the castle are amazing and each restaurant we experienced was so special. Don’t miss this tour because it will certainly be something my family and I will talk about for years to come.
Great food and local wines, loved meeting the chefs and hearing their stories. Our guide was awesome! Highly recommend
Had a great time. We'll worth it. Summit was an excellent guide sharing her knowledge of the hotel and some hidden secrets. Food served was outstanding. Absolutely beautiful views.
This tour has to be on your to-do list if you like food and history. Simmi our tour guide was full of history on the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Some of the ball rooms in the old part of the hotel are unbelievable. The best part is the food and drinks. A chef from each restaurant presented each course. It was a great variety of foods all from the Alberta area. If you eat everything presented you won’t leave hungry. You can’t go wrong booking this tour.
The Eat the Castle food tour at the Fairmont Banff Springs was fantastic. Our guide, Amanda, gave great detailed insight to regional Alberta foods. We got to visit and eat a sampling of the hotel's restaurants and go behind the scenes to learn a little hotel history. Overall, it was worth going to this unique experience on our trip to Canmore, Banff, and Lake Louise.
Beth was extremely friendly and super knowledgeable! We definitely would recommend this tour, the food was all amazing and the cocktail & wines were sooo good!! I would do it again for sure
The food was amazing Amanda, our guide was outstanding. A great balance of food and history. History of both the hotel as well as the area.
I expected a great experience but this tour blew any expectations out of the water. The food was phenomenal and the culinary staff introduced each element of the tour while also adding their own story. The tour also gives an inside look at the Fairmont “castle” that even the hotel guests are unlikely to see and experience. And wrapping it all together was our tour guide Amanda, who was passionate,, knowledgeable, engaging and simply fantastic. The whole experience more than I could have hoped for and was the best part of our entire Banff vacation. Thank you!
We had a wonderful time sampling foods that came from Alberta! We would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn about food grown locally and about a historically significant building.
I would do this again. Private tour of the hotel and all the facilities. Enjoying food and beverages in locations not available to the average person. Love the entire experience. Cocktails were excellent. Loved our Host Beth.
Incomparable experience well worth price! Superb cuisine, wine, cocktails in 6 amazing restaurants/bars. Amanda, Finest Guide EVER, has extensive culinary knowledge enhanced by rapport with staff creating delectable courses. Shared passion for local history, cultural diversity, food products plus remarkable hotel sites & views. Went beyond to patiently assist my husband with elevator use, etc. (Fine non-alcoholic "mock"tails too!) Book Early!
Don’t hesitate to take this tour! It was all we had hoped for and so much more! Our guide, Amanda, was a delight and an absolute wealth of information. Our tastings were amazing and absolutely delicious! Made even more so by the various chefs personally introducing us to each tasting. We would be hard pressed to name a favorite tasting. Amanda skillfully guided us throughout the hotel, constantly filling us in on all of the amazing history of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. This tour is a must and one you won’t regret!!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this food tour! I was a little hesitant to spend this much money, but I’m so glad we did! It was a highlight of our trip. The food was delicious and unique, and it was a good portion size at all 5 stops. The hotel staff made us feel like valued guests. Our tour guide, Tracey, was so nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this food tour!
Far surpassed our expectations! This was a wonderful tour…the food & drinks were all amazing and our guide Amanda was the perfect guide who managed to combine the history of The Banff Castle with an education of the areas culture and lead a discussion about the food. Would highly recommend and not just for foodies!
Very good food and a lot of fun touring the castle and learning the history. Staff was super friendly as well
